This is the first book I have read instead of listened to. While I still think the book is good. The narrator really was what made this series a 5-star. The new development happening in the book is super crazy and could lead the story in a really interesting direction. It also ended on a cliffhanger, so it will be interesting to see how they get out of their latest trouble.

How I choose my rating:
1* Didn't like it at all. These are rare as I usually just don't finish any book I dislike this much.
2** Didn't like it. Again usually DNF if I dislike it this much, but occasionally I feel it still has potential and I try to stick with it to the end.
3*** I liked it. It wasn't great but it was enjoyable enough. It is unlikely I'll ever reread it but I might finish the series if it is a part of one.
4**** I really liked this book. Maybe not a work of genius, but highly entertaining. I might reread this at some point, and I will almost always finish the series if part of one.
5***** I loved this book. I found little to no issues with it at all. I will probably reread this and possibly more than once. I will definitely finish the series if it's part of one.

These last few months have been agony waiting for the long-awaited, Zombie Fallout 7! Have you ever read a book or series that just sticks with you? You find yourself talking about it all the time, thinking about the characters a lot or recommending it to as many people as possible because you just can't wait to have new people to talk with about it? This is the series that did that to me!! I knew I found a gem when I stumbled upon the first Zombie Fallout book and, here I am 7 books later, just as big of a fan now as I was by the end of book 1! Actually, no.....I'm a bigger fan now than I was then!

Do you like zombies? Action? Blood and Gore? Sarcasm? If your answer is, "yes" to even one of these, I suggest reading this book. The chances are that if you're even thinking about reading ZF7 then you have probably read the first 6 in this series. If so, don't even bother with my review....just download the book and start reading!!

Mike and the whole Talbot clan are back for another thrilling adventure as they decide to look for Doc Baker in the hopes that he can help out Justin and B.T. With the evil Eliza out of the picture for good and the epic battle that took place at the Talbot Compound behind them....how bad could a road trip possibly be?? If you've read the other ZF books then you can probably guess the answer to that. It's Michael Talbot for crying out loud!! Of course there's going to be extenuating circumstances and new threats!
Zombie Fallout 7 takes you on a very eventful road trip with lot's of action, tons of zombies and many MANY laughs!!

I have one small criticism. The ending seemed kind of odd. It's pretty obvious that there will be a Zombie Fallout 8 by the way the book ended but it kind of ended in the middle of something. It really doesn't matter to me one bit because I still LOVED this book and will ALWAYS be a HUGE Mark Tufo fan!! Soooo.....is Zombie Fallout 8 out yet?? ;-)

When I grow up, I want to be Mark Tufo! This author is fantastic. He manages to once again spin a tale of terror while still managing to make me laugh out loud. His newest piece of work has earned the coveted Five-Star Fire Rating from the Bookie Monster.

Zombie Fallout 7 is the latest in Tufo's line of great titles. Without Eliza to keep the zombies at bay, it's an all out dog fight for the survival of Mike Talbot and company. The race against time is on for BT and Justin, still infected and in danger of turning. Once again they battle zombie and man alike. Not to mention the ever present Henry the dog stinky pooting, which is almost worse than zombies. (Having two dogs, I can tell you...there is nothing worse than puppy poots)

The zombies are getting smarter. They show signs of thinking and planning. They've even begun assessing situations and running away when risk outweighs reward. But the real stand out for this reader is the banter between Mike and BT. Tufo continues telling the story from the perspective of Mike's journal entries. And Mike continues to be a highly sarcastic and sometimes self deprecating narrator.

The only problem with a Tufo book is that it ends! This reader is impatiently already waiting for book 8. If the humor doesn't get you, then the unique story line and well thought out characters will. Much like me, I suspect you won't be able to put it down. This latest installment is every bit exciting and captivating as the first book. A feat hard to achieve as most series fall victim to waning and regurgitated story lines. Each book in the Zombie Fallout series has been original and there has been no decline in momentum.

I listened to the audio version, narrated by Sean Runnette, and was pleased at the dry humor his voice injected into the story. The only thing I would have liked to see differently is the voice chosen for Tommy. It was just a touch too juvenile for me.

Zombie Fallout is one of the best zombie series on the market. It doesn't hurt that Tufo is a fellow Bostonian, either. If you haven't read them yet...well, shame on you! Get to reading! You won't be disappointed.

*I received a free copy of this audiobook for review from Audiobookreviewer.com*

If you have read my previous reviews of the other Zombie Fallout books, you know I’m a big fan of the series. Tufo has a unique style in his writing; he combines the dark and gritty reality of zombies with some just as dark and gritty humor. I don’t know this for fact but it seems that Mark is a family man. There are scenes in his books that really pull at the heart, he really makes you feel what the Talbots are feeling. The scenarios these people are thrown into time and time again, become almost relatable; I care about these characters.
In typical Tufo fashion, the story picks up right on the heels of the last. Eliza is dead, and with that; there is nothing stopping the zombie virus that is still running through the veins of BT and Justin. Mike and family load up another one of his brother’s seemingly endless supply of trucks and set off to find Doc Baker. meanwhile, Stephanie and Tripp go on the road in there new bus in hopes of finding the Talbot’s home in Maine, and Dr. Baker and Porkchop are rescued by a remaining faction of the military.

Many of the zombie stories I’ve read put their main focus on other humans as the foe, and while I think it is likely that would be the case should the Zompocalypse happen, this time around though, Tufo kind of changes the game. Without Eliza around to command them; the zombies are learning, using doorknobs, and even setting traps. It adds a needed change of pace that, I think, really adds life to the series. It’s refreshing to read about truly terrifying creatures that, along with not suffering from human emotions such as fear or remorse, can actually tactically plan and learn from mistakes.

Sean Runnette takes the reign yet again for Mr. Tufo reading both the witty banter and heartbreaking inner thoughts of Mike Talbot with emotion and fluidity. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. Runnette is Talbot; he is also BT, and Justin, and Tracy, and…well, I think you get the point.

This book was awesome, can't wait to read the next book!!!!!!!!!! XD

Now Mike must find away to help his son and best friend that are succumbing to the zombie virus within them. As well as looking for Doc Baker in the hope that he can save Justin and B.T. With Eliza gone for good the zombies are now evolving, but why and how. And an on going BT saying of “You are fucking nuts!” to his friends is just ironic at this point. Sooooooo BT was a police officer... huh. I didn't know that.

WELL SAD TO SAY I AM AT THE END OF THIS SERIES BUT NOT THE MICHAEL TALBOT SERIES OF BOOKS AT LEAST. THIS WAS A VERY GOOD BOOK FOR AN ENDING. I DO WISH THERE WOULD BE ANOTHER ONE, BUT AS I HAVEN'T GOTTEN TO THE NEXT ONE, IT MAY CONTINUE ON WITH THE SAME PEOPLE AS I HOPE IT DOES. EITHER WAY MARK TUFO BOOKS ARE AWESOME! I WILL READ THESE AGAIN AND AGAIN, AND LAUGH MANY MORE TIMES. THANKS FOR THE GREAT SERIES!

Loved it! Was waiting to read it as I knew I would devour it super quick (did the whole book in 2 nights!) so now I'm patiently waiting for ZF8 (or at least Book of Riley to tide me over). Think this was favourite book in the series so far, I am quite partial to John the Tripper, he's hysterical. Action, romance (well nooky anyway), sorrow, laughter, fart jokes! What's not to love. I've recommended this series to nearly everyone I know.

Well here we have it, the 7th book in the Zombie Fallout series & it dosen't dissapoint. The gangs all here & Mike, well he's just Mike. There are close calls aplenty, & a few secrets revealed regarding the origin of the outbreak, & the part played by in it by a certain little old lady. The way this book finishes, book 8 should be a cracker, I can't wait.

What happens when the Queen of the Zombies has been killed? Quite a lot and it is fascinating and great. Trying to save his son and best friend, we follow Michael Talbot on an adventure to find a doctor, who could possibly save them. We find out a lot about Miss Danoe. Oh this is a great novel which is one of the best of the series and I can't wait for the next one.

For the Fallen - Zombie Fallout 7

For the Fallen falls a little flat this time. Why? Maybe because the author decided to take a few shortcuts. And when I say shortcuts, it appears that Mark Tufo walked away from his publisher and went the way of the "do it yourself". What does it mean to you? A lot more editing errors than before is what it means.

Okay, I do enjoy the style of Mark's writing. He has a certain wit about him that makes you want to keep reading. There are few who can pull that off with me. But now that he has pulled out of traditional publishing, the work itself is really starting to suffer. I'm talking wrong word usage, repetition, and problems with POV.

During one scene, the POV is Mike. He is retelling the story in his journal. So why does the story flip to the POV (point of view) of another character? The story is not in omnipotent, but 1st and 3rd past tense. I can forgive a little slip but the big gaff is something that should have been picked up. This shows a lack of proofing by both the editor and test readers.

Besides this one big issue, the rest can be overlooked as poor editing. The story is still strong and I like how he is playing out the series in this book. It is much better than the last one. So I'll keep going to see where the story is going.

There are two things that really stick out in the story that I need to say - why so much back story on all characters? Why on the little ones? I don't need to know about the secretary and what moves them (not a spoiler for there is no secretary - or is there?) The other thing that sticks out is three epilogues. Really? Just one would be good. I didn't like the other one with the changing stairs and it didn't add to the story. Maybe that's why he is self-publishing now, he didn't want all the crap cut out of the book. Only time will tell.

Another Touchdown Pass!

I have no idea why I referenced football... Umm, not even a sports fan per se. But I am an avid Zom-poc reader, and Tufo is one of my very favorite authors (for other greats, try M.A. Robbins, Iain Rob Wright, M.L. Banner and do many more indy authors!)

Mike Talbot, is intrepid hero in this and the accompanying series, is one of a kind. The series does not read very well out of order, unless you have the type of mind which likes to work a puzzle backwards. 😊 His family, comprised of blood relatives and the friends new and old he had gathered along his life's journey, is full of such a genius mix of characters. Each page will keep you going - boredom does not exist in this world!

For those who want good, but wrenching, nail reading, zombie action, they will not be disappointed. Anyone btw to zom-poc fiction, Tufo is a great info to the genre. Book 7 now me away with the new layers peeled away, some questions answered, New ones generated - always the sign of a great series.

Thank you, Mr. Tufo, and keep Mike going. I can't imagine having to live with the guy, must drive you a tad nuts on certain days when you're trying to work and he's bored.

Want to slow down, but I can't!

Another hit for Tufo. I would be sad at this point as the series is going to be ending soon. But the good news is there are spin-off books that will continue Talbot's existence. Tufo has combined all of our favorite points of zombies and added new abilities for the ravenous horde. This is a book that almost demands a reading in one sitting, but other things get in the way (work, food and things like that!). Make sure you can dedicate a large block of time for reading. Does it seem that I am being vague in this review? I certainly am!!! Some times reviews give away too much of the story and I do not intend on doing that.
That said, his ability to blend just the right amount military know how with humor and tension is perfect. I have read a lot of post-apocalyptic/zombie stories and this is going to be my gold standard to hold future stories to. The new twists and turns on a topic that has been the written about in numerous ways, is a refreshing and engaging.
I highly recommend this series but only if you have time to be taken into a story you can devote many long blocks of time to it.
Get this series! Not just this book but all of it!

Another excellent read

Again, this book had me hooked. Everything from tears to laughs. For some reason I read all of John the tripper's lines using Tommy Chong's voice in my head, it just seemed so fitting and then further in there was mention of Chong. I am more hooked on this series than I ever was Stephen King books and I absolutely love his books

Excellent!

I love, love this series! The action in each and every book is awesome! What a life Mike is living!
I really liked the epilogues in the end of this one. I haven’t liked Vivian much but I like her even less now. She can go at any time, thank you Mark.
I need to see how Mike gets out of this latest situation

Very few authors can make the zombie apocalypse hilarious, but Mark Tufo certainly can. It's not all hilarious, in fact there is some really nasty scenes, but the banter between the characters is super funny most of the time. Even when they get in trouble and are fighting for their lives the characters still make me laugh.

Another great read. The antagonist is one you’ll love to hat and the gang is coming together! A new problem has arose and now Mike, BT and the rest of the group are on the way to find a solution. Them all of a sudden …. BAM! Here come Trip and his lady. Don’t want to say too much but definitely a great continuation.

All of these books are amazing reads but somehow I get more and more enthralled with each book. Can’t help but love Tommy cuz I really feel like he’s good and truly wants to be. BT is the man!! Mike is just so ballsy and to the point, love it. Tripp….hes a trip. If you enjoy good zombie books with humor this is perfect but definitely start at the beginning.

Thank goodness they brought back John the Tripper. He is everything! This book also brought back the Doc and his family which I had been wondering about. Can’t wait for the next book in the series. Really hoping BT and Justin both make it.

Loved it
My favorite so far out of all them. I love the twists and turns and all the hints at more supernatural beings. The time warp was fun at the very end in the epilogue. I hope you all love this series as much as I do. I am having so much fun with it and love the characters.
