Navy wife, Andy Davenport, would do anything to make amends with her husband, Tyler. The trouble is, he never made it back from deployment. When Andy's free spirited sister suggests a séance, Andy is skeptical at best. But could this be her chance to see Tyler again and make things right? Some ghost stories are worth believing in...
In a fit of pique when her husband gets a back to back deployment, Andy sends him off in anger and those were the last words he heard from her. Guilt and grief weigh her down until a little Halloween Magic gives her another chance to make amends.
This was a short story that packed a punch. It was a snippet really, but was developed for all that. It reflects on the difficulties of a marriage when one is a SEAL and that is tough enough, but it also addresses sending one's spouse away in anger. I think that is what will stick with me- no matter how mad we get at each other that we don't send a loved one away with hard words in case they are the last words they hear.
I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
This book is a heart wrenching story about a Navy wife who had a argument with her husband right before he went out on an mission and says some words she'll forever regret. Only 3 short days after the mission starts, she finds out that her husband was shot and died.
After 3 months of deep sadness and regret, her sister suggest that Andy do a séance to try to reconnect with her husband Tyler again. Andy and is surprised and grateful for what happens next.
I don't want to give to much away because this is only 22 pages long, but man does it suck you in and mess with your emotions. If your looking for a quick read that leaves you thankful for everything you have, this is a book for you!
Thanks for your service! Even though this was a very short story, my kindle said it would take 18 minutes to read, the story pulled you in. I had tears stinging my eyes before I got to the end. I'm sure this is close to the truth for many in the beginning and for those of you who believe, maybe even the end!
