Park Avenue Princes #5

Salacious Park Avenue Prince

Rate this book
Who are we? Like you even need to ask. We’re the seven richer-than-sin legacies causing debauchery at the prestigious Astor University in Manhattan.
Some call us spoiled.
Some call us trouble.
But everyone calls us the Park Avenue Princes.

Travis McKinney
“The Outrageous One”

Or, as some of my fellow Park Avenue Princes like to call me, the Manwhore of Manhattan.
Act like a sex god, dress like a sex god, be a sex god. In my opinion, these are fantastic life goals. I have no idea why my parents think I have no direction.
I’m the fun one. Easygoing. A massive flirt. I get along with just about everyone, except…

Caleb Reeves.
Also known as “the Bane of My Existence”

He’s everything I’m not: Focused, effortlessly sexy but straight, and an ex-Park Avenue Prince. Or the “Pricks,” as he likes to call us now.

Our rivalry is legendary. Putting us within a hundred feet of each other is just asking for trouble. But no one other than the two of us knows why or how it began, and we plan to keep it that way.
The unspoken agreement is that Caleb keeps to his side of the city, I keep to mine, and we avoid each other at all costs.

Which would be great, except we have to see each once a month at family dinner.
Because Caleb isn’t only my arch-nemesis, he also happens to be…my stepbrother.

Wow!!! These two are so much fun with their stubborn push/pull dynamic. I was so excited about these two and their story did not disappoint. I was fascinated with their backstory and seeing how close they were and how everything became so volatile and hostile, which was heartbreaking to see. Now they are forced to cohabitate after 4 years of separation and my goodness are their scenes sizzling with tension and lingering animosity.

I love how you clearly understand the different perspectives Caleb and Travis have regarding their broken relationship and how it came to be. You can empathize with both and just want them to finally discuss their feelings. I love how they both push the others' buttons which creates many hilarious scenes where they both still have such care for one another, but due to their egos, their relationship remains fractured.

Overall I loved this entry. It left me anxiously waiting to see how their story would end up, with many surprises along the way. These two have an entertaining and emotional story that left me so happy with their hard-won HEA.

I cannot wait for East's story... he loves being a trouble maker and I cannot wait to see who ends up being paired with.

This book hinges on my most hated trope in romance miscommunication and yet I found it absolutely perfect for this story!

Ella and Brooke really deliver in this one, giving the reader a pitch perfect tale of two teenagers who were instantly friends the minute their parents met and started dating. Inseparable right up until the wedding, when they became step-brothers and - for one glorious moment - possibly more.

Until Caleb needed a moment to deal with the unexpected turn, Travis failed to deal with the hurt of what he saw as a rejection, and both of them then became mortal enemies for years while still craving the other's attention.

There's so much glorious snark and bite and getting on each other's nerves while being unable to fully break the ties which bind them together through their parents' marriage.

The step-brother trope isn't really leant on too heavily here, you never get a sense of the forbidden or any kind of icky feelings, they were best friends, until they weren't, and the relationship aspect only comes into the narrative as an adjacent element.

When their parents sell off Caleb's Soho loft, forcing him to share Travis' condo, it puts them into a forced proximity situation which has the potential for either total disaster or a chance to finally address what happened on the night of the wedding four years earlier.

I loved how this storyline played out so organically. It's clear to see from the off that there's more than meets the eye and, through a series of flashbacks which I'm ordinarily not so keen on, but which are used well here, we see the full story unfold.

It's also easy to see how and why the traumatic fallout occurred, why they've never spoken of it again and how simple it is for them to fall back into the rock solid friendship which tied them so closely together once they've both got over their anger.

As with the rest of the books in the series, we're hitting some seriously sexy high notes here too as Caleb fully embraces the fact he's bisexual and very definitely attracted to Travis.

While Van and Kelly remain my favourite pairing, this one absolutely delivered and has hit my second spot on the list.

With only James Easton's book to go in terms of the original Park Avenue Princes, I'm waiting to see whether or not he can move off my most disliked character list and I really hope Ella and Brooke deliver me up an MMM with his professor and the professor's TA as I get all kinds of delicious vibes from them 😘

⭐︎ 4.5 stars rounded up! ⭐︎

Keeping up with the rest of the series (except the third one), this was amazing, I loved it.

Automatic .5 stars off for the stepbrother aspect being practically a non-issue. Caleb has some freak-out over it, but we learn it wasn't for long. Travis had no issue with it, and we don't even get to see the parent's reaction to it aside from some description about it after the fact. I'm almost used to the stepbrother element not being that big a deal in stories, but doesn't mean I'm not gonna dock a point for not utilizing it at all. Give me people really caring about the stepbrother thing, somebody someday please!

Other than that, though, this was great. Caleb and Travis were so great together, they had amazing chemistry - man and when the sex scenes came? Whew *fansself* it was quite something, I couldn't get enough of them together - and they actually had the enemies feel thing going for awhile there. Now, it was born out of misunderstanding, miscommunication and all that, but still. Also, they were idiot teenagers when it all went down so their idiocy, while annoying, made sense - because in general, teenagers are idiots.

But before they were enemies, they were the best of friends, practically attached at the hip. So what went wrong? Well, you'll have to read to find out.

But essentially it was two boys in love, who were teenagers and who didn't know how to handle these big feelings and reacted in all the wrong ways. Mostly Travis, but Caleb certainly didn't help matters.

But once they got past their bullshit, and we got to see them being them together, it was wonderful.

They'd been teasing these two since the very first book, so it was a lot to live up to - but boy did they deliver.

Travis may have been a fuck boy, sleeping around all over the place - but that's just because he couldn't have Caleb. The minute Caleb fully reciprocated his feelings, all bets were off. Travis couldn't even think of another while with Caleb. He's it for him. It was always them for each other. Travis just needed to actually talk to Caleb and Caleb just had to let himself feel his feelings for Travis.

Just, this was good and I highly recommend it. I also read it within a day - less than - and that's always a plus. Stayed up late to finish it, I just couldn't put it down. These two, I'd say were maybe a bit below or just on par with Daire and Gavin for me.

Next....*sigh* is East. Now, there's been several hints that his will be MMM - the threesome comment he made while talking to Travis made me even more sure his will be poly with the professor and the TA - so if that's the case I won't be reading (although since it'll be the last book in the series, that doesn't matter for me 😁). I'll put the last book on my TBR list for now, if somehow it somehow is just MM. Buttt I won't be surprised if it isn't.

So either onto the next or this is the end of the series for me. Either way, what an installment. (And it'll be the perfect book to go out on this series with if East's book IS MMM. Also East is so fucking annoying so I won't sleep if I'm not reading his book.)

Whatever the outcome is, I can't wait to read more from these authors. They need to do full length more often - instead of splitting it into trilogies with very short installments that almost always have cliffhangers - because I've been absolutely loving this series.

Can't wait for more! 😍

I have been dying to get my hands on Travis and Caleb’s story, ever since reading the first book in this series, and to say I loved it is an understatement! It was everything I wanted and more!! From stepbrothers to enemies to lovers and forced proximity with so much tension, this book had it all. I was so glad we got to learn about their past and see where their bad blood stemned from. Fans of this series are really going to love this one!!

I swear this book was written for me!

I absolutely LOVE stepbrothers, enemies to lovers and second chance romances, but combining it with Gossip Girl vibes and having the MCs be the possessive and territorial Travis and Caleb (who I have been waiting for with such anticipation) made this story perfect!! There's even a mention of Viper and Fallen Angel and it's no secret how much I love that series too.

The reason for why these guys have been aggressively avoiding and dancing around each other for years is finally uncovered and I adored getting to see the vulnerable side of Travis - he's such a marshmallow for anything Caleb and I'm so here for it.

The push and pull between these two, and all of their attempts to get each other's attention were very entertaining. Were they always mature adults? Absolutely not, but if that's what you're expecting you've been reading the wrong series! You could definitely see the history between them too, which added so much to their relationship and the ease of it once they finally figured it out.

I honestly couldn't have asked for more with these two and they are by far my favourite couple in this series.

Now I'm so ready to see who makes James Easton bow down to them!

"Then I felt it, that invisible rope winding around the two of us as he shifted in behind me.   He hadn’t touched me anywhere, not with his hands, not with his mouth, but his mere presence set every nerve ending on fire as he stopped only inches from me."

Salacious Park Avenue Prince is book 5 in the fabulous Park Avenue Princes series by Ella Frank and Brooke Blaine and I am totally loving this steamy, MM college romance series so far. This is Travis and Caleb's story, which I have been hanging out for since the start of the series, and I wasn't disappointed!

Travis has spent the past 4 years trying to move on from his (apparently) straight step-brother with basically every male that moves, but when their parents force them into sharing the same apartment, sparks start to fly!

I love the "I shouldn't want him but I WANT him trope" and with all the usual suspects playing their part again, Salacious Park Avenue Prince is full of the hot shenanigans we have become used to with these princes.

What to Expect:

❥ Dual POV
❥ MM college romance
❥ Friends to enemies to lovers
❥ Bi-awakening
❥ Second chance
❥ First times
❥ Found family
❥ Stepbrothers
❥ Forced proximity
❥ HEA

I totally loved this one - definitely one of my series faves - and I can't wait for the final book in this fabulous series Notorious Park Avenue Prince, expected out on 5 September!

Spice: 🌶️🌶️🌶️/5
Format: ebook

“We fit together so perfectly, like two pieces of a puzzle that had been pushed around and forced to merge with different parts, when all one needed was the other.”

Everyone: *shocked when West fell in love with JT*
Everyone: *shocked when they realized it was Donovan in the videos with Kelly*
Everyone: *shocked when Preston came out and said he was sleeping with his girlfriend’s dad*
Everyone: *shocked when Daire and Gavin slept together*
No one. Literally not a single person. At all: *shocked when Caleb kissed Travis*

When I finally read why Travis and Caleb “hated” each other, I definitely had a, “Chat, is this real?” moment and had to put the book down for a small time-out. After four books of their “rivalry” being dangled at us like a juicy steak, I just expected a bit more. Miscommunication trope strikes again!

Buuuuuuuuut…

Honestly, I loved them anyways. I go feral for reformed playboys and as soon as (what’s the gay version of “womanizer”? “Manizer”?) Travis thought he had a second chance with Caleb, he was instantly: no thoughts, just stepbrother. And I think that’s nice. Caleb was like boring white bread in all the previous books but he was kinda likable here. But my baby Travis is just so cute, he wins all the awards for best doting boyfriend/brother.

The spice in this was crazy. They thought with their dicks 90% of the time. They broke their parents’ dining table! Jesus Christ. And Travis’s mouth… He’s just so obsessed with slouchy beanie boy.

There is just not enough JT in these books. I was hoping for more here because he’s Caleb’s best friend but we barely got anything. Give me 35% more JT content and 0% more Kelly content in East’s book, please and thank you. And speaking of East, I have unreasonably high expectations for his book. East is so babygirl and if his book isn’t him getting sexually and emotionally dominated and taken care of then I don’t want it.

Travis and Caleb are stepbrothers who were inseparable friends ever since their parents started dating. The night their parents got married, Travis finally couldn't hold back any longer and acted on his feelings for Caleb, which leads to the start of their enemies era. I won't share what happens next because *spoilers* but everyone who loves a steamy and satisfying forced proximity, friends-to-enemies-to-lovers book will go crazy over this latest book in the Park Avenue Princes series. (I cackle every time Caleb calls them the Park Avenue Pricks 😂😂)
It was almost pathetic how much I craved every little touch. How I'd do anything for his attention. But that was the power he'd always held over me, the reason I'd shut myself down the first time around.
Caleb Reeves was my biggest weakness, one I couldn't seem to resist, and when he turned his head, a crooked smile tugged at his lips and I felt myself fall even deeper under his spell.

Salacious Park Avenue Prince can be read as a standalone, but to get the full effect of the tension and pining between Travis and Caleb I'd suggest starting with book 1. The characters have a great enemies to lovers arc that culminates in this book. I already am feral to read East's story because I've had a theory about who he ends up with for so many books now and I'm dying to know if I'm right.

Rating: 4

This is the fifth book in the Park Avenue Princes series and can be read as a standalone; however, the buildup to this couple has been four books long, and I recommend you read them in order for full enjoyment.

Caleb and Travis are stepbrothers and best friends. Or, they WERE best friends, until a falling out which has them no longer on speaking terms. But even with all of their history, Travis can't seem to keep his mind off of his straight stepbrother...

This book is the embodiment of EVERYTHING I want from a series about a bunch of wealthy young adults living in Manhattan. The drama, the tension, the SPICE 🥵...y'all this book was on FIRE. Definitely my favorite of the series so far, I CONSUMED this book. Travis and Caleb have had undeniable chemistry throughout the series, and the back and forth tension between them in this book is so delicious.🫠 There are flashbacks where we learn about their history peppered throughout, which only add fuel to the fire of them.🔥 This one is definitely joining the ranks as one of my favorite stepbro books.

If you're looking for hate-to-love-you vibes with a touch of exhibitionism, this book is for you.🩷

Read if you like:
• Stepbrothers
• Best Friends to Hate to Love
• Bi-Awakening

Bumfuckery? Really? Really?! WHO SAYS THAT?

I loved the start of this, was meh on the middle and loved it again at the end.

“Fucking your stepbrother wasn’t on your to-do list?”
“Was it on yours?”
“Yes.”

Travis is a menace but he had to be otherwise they'd have pussy footed around each other for decades so I give him a pass.

“So what is this, then?” Donovan asked. “Are you two a couple now, just without the title?”
Daire snorted. “They have a title, it’s called brothers.”

I love that these guys always call it like it is(except that most times it really isn't like that but that just makes it funnier). Fatherfucker. Brotherfucker.

Also.

Am I the only one who finds it weird that Archer hangs out with these New Adults?

How old are these guys anyway? 4 books later and I'm still not entirely sure.

Anywhoo, I also liked that once Caleb flipped the switch, there was no waffling about.

Before he could even get the words out, I pushed back on him, taking him into my body where I needed him most. The shocked curse that fell from Travis’s lips made me even bolder. “I don’t want to stop. I want you to start.”

Well OKAYYYYY then, straight Caleb.

But also(I know, I know— pick a side!!) I also kinda hated how easily he flipped into being comfortable with the situation. Because you've been fighting this for years so what changed?

Kinda makes the miscommunication at the start pointless. Because all this angst for what?

These two weren't dealing with internalized homophobia, weren't scared of friends or family rejecting them. Just scared of the other not wanting them back (while covered in cum from the literal instance a few minutes prior where they (again, I must emphasize) QUITE LITERALLY wanted each other to the point of completion.

So I ask again. All this angst for what? Dramatic ass MFs.

Tut tut tut…shaking my head. Com-mu-ni-ca-tion! It’s not that hard! Okay, they were 16 years old, but still.

We knew from the first book in the series that something was going on between Caleb and Travis because they hated each other and the tension between them was on fire. Here, we learn that it’s even more complicated than we thought because they’re stepbrothers. I loved this aspect of the story, it made everything more meaningful.

There was a lot of banter and I absolutely loved it. It was so funny and cute. Travis and Caleb are great together, they only needed to FINALLY have a talk. I really loved their relationship because they used to be best friends so it felt very natural when they started to be together. They’re both very possessive and they can’t get enough of each other. It was also very romantic, which is something I didn’t expect, but it showed how much they care for each other, I loved that.

Salacious was, like the other books in the series, a great read. It was fun, sweet and spicy. I cannot wait to read East’s story next, but at the same time, I don’t want the series to end!

Tropes:
☆ Stepbrothers
☆ Friends-to-Enemies-to-Lovers
☆ Forced proximity
☆ Miscommunication

I was so excited for Travis and Caleb and to say what was delivered was disappointing is an understatement. This book reads like a first draft.

It felt like they had probably realised they'd written themselves into a bit of a corner in the other books with these characters and didn't have a solid idea for how to navigate their story and it shows. I'm sorry but the explanation for Caleb and Travis suddenly hating each other just doesn't make sense for the relationship we're told they had. I don't care if you're a dumb 16 year old, you don't suddenly believe your best friend in the whole world was laughing about sleeping with you behind your back. Just like I don't believe Travis would start being exceptionally mean to the person he loves more than anything just because he was rejected. And I don't believe that Caleb wouldn't understand how him running away from Travis would hurt him.

But even if we can ignore this not very believable explanation of their enemies to lovers journey, why we're so many plotlines either glossed over or omitted completely? Why is Caleb so worried the entire time about what other people will think, especially his parents and then we don't even see them telling their parents? Caleb's relationship with the other princes is so unclear. We're made to believe he was friends with them back in the day, but then he absolutely hated all of them? Why didn't they ever try to talk to him? They don't particularly seem to care about him at all, but want him back in their circle, but I don't think he has a single conversation with any of them in the whole book? We're also teased about Travis becoming this awesome designer and it's literally not even mentioned. At the end Travis is still just a directionless flirty rich guy who happens to have a boyfriend now. Neither him or Caleb really have any character growth whatsoever in the entire book. They also fucking suck at communicating. Even 90% into the book, they both still doubt each other's intentions but refuse to voice it. They never speak about it and on the very last page of the book, they guess they're in love and are boyfriends?

I'm mostly disappointed because in a 360 page book, I don't feel like we learnt very much about either character at all. Aside from one moment when they were 17, we don't know their basic backstory (like they seem to have iffy relationships with their parents (Caleb's dad is a dick to Travis and it's just glossed over)), they each have one hobby and spend time at parties or fucking. I mean it would have been nice to explore why Caleb cares so much about other people's opinions, or why he struggled for so long to accept his sexuality.

Salacious Park Avenue Prince is Travis and Caleb’s story that Ella and Brooke have been teasing since book one. The backstory of Travis and Caleb’s fallout is revealed and it was a mixture of intensity and heat, miscommunication and wrong assumptions. Neither ever bring up that fated night until they’re forced to live together and everything comes to a head.

I LOVED seeing this other Travis. He’s not who you think and he has this mushy center and feels deeply. The Travis he shows the world is vastly different than the Travis he gives his Caleb. I loved him and I adored the way he was head over heels for Caleb and never truly gave up hope. His inner monologue was everything.

“All I ever wanted was that man’s attention, and when I had it, it did things to my body I’d never get to make reality.”

Caleb was such a surprise as well with his dominant personality that came out to play more than once. I felt like we really got a true picture of who Caleb was and how perfect he was for Travis. His acceptance of what he was feeling for Travis may have been slow but once he got there, he went nuclear.

“You’re the wilder, crazier half of me I can’t live without.”

These two keep their relationship secret for awhile but both are too possessive to let this secret be kept in the closet. The enemies to lovers was incredibly well written. The sexual tension brewing under their sharp words was so hot and the intimacy and passion between them had me fanning my face. I especially liked that there was no third act breakup and the steam was STEAMING.

“This,” he said, tracing my lips and admiring his handiwork, “is how you should always look. Claimed and with a mouthful of my cum.”

I find it difficult to find good MM these days that give me all the tension and steam and passion. This gave all in the best ways. Travis and Caleb’s love was built on friendship and intense chemistry that they finally acted on and I was HERE for it.

“He wanted me to be his first, but if I had things my way, I’d be his last.”

I think this might be my favorite installment after the first book but I am salivating to find out who will take East out lol. Love this series.

First I want to say I love this series. Donovan and Preston’s books were both 4 star reads for me and the other two were 3 stars. This is the lowest I have rated a book in this series and it makes so sad because Travis and Caleb’s relationship and book was one I like I’m sure many others were so excited to get to because of how it has been built up over the course of this series.

Now, Travis and Caleb being stepbrothers was not something I saw coming but I didn’t mind it.

However, the miscommunication trope being used to explain the reason behind their big fight/feud honestly made me so angry because it was so stupid even for a miscommunication trope. Travis’s side I understand because he really was crushing on Caleb but you’re telling me that Caleb viewed Travis as his best friend but believed that Travis would come onto him just to “prank” him and that is what led to them hating eachother for years? It was so unbelievable that Caleb would’ve thought that and would just let Travis go and act how he did after the incident. If Travis really was his best friend then Caleb would have known how Travis was/behaved and would’ve understood he was hurt. It just doesn’t make sense no matter how it was tried to be explained/justified.

Also, I can’t believe I’m having to write this on another book review but the way this book was written was so infuriating and different from the previous books in the series. Scenes that would’ve been drawn out more and therefore made this book better were glossed over. For example, the spa scene lasted .2 seconds. Compared to the similar scene in Preston’s book where he was caught in the lie about being with Serena when he was really with Archer, the spa scene in this book was so lackluster unlike the scene in Preston’s book which actually was written out nicely and made the story better and more entertaining.

Other examples of scenes that would’ve been written out thoroughly instead of just glossed over were Travis and Caleb telling their parents. Also, the school scenes. Other than briefly at the beginning, they were literally never at school compared to the previous books. It literally feels like Archer and Preston had more school scenes than the book containing two characters who are both still in school. These scenes might not be extremely necessary to the story but it felt like in this book we had two settings that they were at 90% of the book which were either clubs/parties or at the condo.

I’ve said this so much recently but I just feel like putting these books out so close together leads to these stories being rushed and it negatively affects the writing, plot, and characters. I remember when books used to take at least a year between the next ones in the series being released and I’m not saying that all books need this but I have just noticed a common theme of books being pushed out barely two months apart just ending up being so rushed and disappointing.

I’m just sad and I hope East’s story gets the time and effort it deserves. I really wish Travis and Caleb’s did.

"I'd let him in, lowered all my defenses, and what had I gotten for it? The cold, hard slap of rejection - something I'd promised myself I would never let anyone make me feel again, especially Caleb fucking Reeves."

Whoa boy Caleb and Travis sure had a lot of baggage to unpack before they could get on the road to their HEA. Like, a lot. So much resentment and hurt could have been avoided for years if these two had just communicated with one another. BUT! They were 17 when the major shit went down. SEVEN-TEEN. I don't know about you, but I don't think I have ever met a 17 year old boy who has ever been eager to have a chat about their emotions, especially if the ones they are feeling are dominated by hurt. I'm sure they are out there, but I haven't met one. So, it is completely understandable to me that these two teen boys decided that avoiding their issues, and subsequently each other, was the best solution to their problem rather than having a heart to heart.

"We'd danced our way around this argument a hundred and one times, but we'd never gotten into the thick of it. Never waded through the murky waters of the whos and whys. But apparently it was time to pay the fucking piper."

I was so pumped when these two finally got to this point. It needed to happen. They couldn't continue on the way they were. It honestly broke my freaking heart to see Travis so vulnerable. He was such a fun character throughout the series. Travis was larger than life, always looking to have a good time. And to be privy to the devastation he hid from the world with his smile was just a lot for my heart to take. Caleb didn't help the situation either. For someone who used to be Travis' best friend, he sure didn't take the time to look a little deeper. But he was finally fixing that now.

"Why did you cut me off like that?"

"Because it was easier to ignore you than it was to look at you every day."

Caleb and Travis had a lot to work through, but in the end, they actually did the work. I wouldn't go as far as to say they both wholly matured the years they had been "apart," but hindsight is 20/20 and when the truth was finally out in the open they both took the steps toward healing together. Of course I loved how nosey the Princes were and how they all were hungry for the truth. I swear they could also be known as the Park Avenue Gossip Hounds. And the one man who was the least sorry about sticking his nose in their business, is also the one man left standing. You know who I'm talking about and I'm sure if you've made it this far in the series, that just like me, you absolutely cannot wait to see him fall next.

No sé cómo sentirme.

Oh to finally know the truth. We've seen these two hate each other from the beginning, never knowing why. Their relationship becomes what it is, but that's also what allows their new one to be explosive and have so much passion. There's so much heat between them. Longing, desire, need, everything you can think of. They have a dynamic unlike the others because of their history. Even when they no longer wish they did, they know everything about the other. I loved every moment of their story. From finding out the reason, the truths, the confessions, and the growth. These two have something strong because of what they've been through. Travis and Caleb are perfect for each other - even when they think they aren't. Seeing Travis' inner thoughts, especially when it comes to Caleb, it's not what you'd expect, and it's exciting to see how he feels.

And now, onto Easton's story and oh my goodness, I cannot wait.

I think this book lacked FRIENDSHIP. I was so ready to give this 5 stars but damn it there was NO interaction between Caleb and JT.

Caleb was such prominent character in in JT’s book and East from West’s side no matter how stupid asshole he is but still.

I enjoyed the sex scenes really but fuck the author could’ve scrapped one of those and insert at least 1 heart to heart conversation with JT and Cal’s real feelings for Travis. Instead JT was oblivious as a dumb toddler and couldn’t see what’s happening with his bff. This pissed me off tenfold bc in the very first book of the series, Cal was both disappointed and later supportive of JT’s relationship. Cal was so involved with warning JT and then helping West to win him back.

I’m going on a rant bc this is the ONLY thing that bother me in this book otherwise it was flawless. I still didn’t care they were step brothers considering it wasn’t big deal when they came out. I fail to understand authors choice to insert that trope but not icky or disgusting happens regarding that one.

I like that both of them had similar misunderstanding and once it was cleared they were rock solid. No third act break up, no social media dramas or leaks so I loved that part. This book has chemistry, a lot of angst, emotions and I’d written quite well.

arc review
well, travis and caleb are now all i think about 😭

it turns out being forced to move in with the stepbrother you hate isn’t so bad…

𝘽𝙚𝙘𝙖𝙪𝙨𝙚 𝙝𝙚 𝙘𝙤𝙡𝙙 𝙙𝙚𝙣𝙮 𝙞𝙩 𝙖𝙡𝙡 𝙝𝙚 𝙬𝙖𝙣𝙩𝙚𝙙, 𝙗𝙪𝙩 𝘾𝙖𝙡𝙚𝙗 𝙍𝙚𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙨 𝙬𝙖𝙨 𝙗𝙖𝙘𝙠, 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙨𝙤 𝙬𝙚𝙧𝙚 𝙖𝙡𝙡 𝙤𝙛 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙢𝙚𝙨𝙨𝙮, 𝙞𝙣𝙘𝙤𝙣𝙫𝙚𝙣𝙞𝙚𝙣𝙩 𝙛𝙚𝙚𝙡𝙞𝙣𝙜𝙨 𝙝𝙚 𝙖𝙡𝙬𝙖𝙮𝙨 𝙗𝙧𝙤𝙪𝙜𝙝𝙩 𝙬𝙞𝙩𝙝 𝙝𝙞𝙢.

i have been so excited for them since book one, and then we find out they’re stepbrothers?! LOVE

these two are everything, easily my top PAP couple.
i had the best time ever reading this! it was so fun, sweet, spicy and the tension was SO GOOD.

“𝘾𝙖𝙡𝙚𝙗, 𝙜𝙤𝙧𝙜𝙚𝙤𝙪𝙨, 𝙙𝙤𝙣’𝙩 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙠𝙣𝙤𝙬?” 𝙄 𝙬𝙧𝙖𝙥𝙥𝙚𝙙 𝙖𝙣 𝙖𝙧𝙢 𝙖𝙧𝙤𝙪𝙣𝙙 𝙝𝙞𝙨 𝙬𝙖𝙞𝙨𝙩 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙝𝙖𝙪𝙡𝙚𝙙 𝙝𝙞𝙢 𝙪𝙥 𝙜𝙖𝙞𝙣𝙨𝙩 𝙢𝙚. “𝙄 𝙖𝙢 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙩𝙧𝙤𝙪𝙗𝙡𝙚.”

we knew from the previous books that they clearly hated each other, and i have been looking forward to finding out why for soooo long!! brooke & ella did not disappoint. the tension with these two was INSANE, and it just made it that much hotter.
there’s a fine line between love and hate and these two are the definition of that.

“𝙔𝙤𝙪 𝙬𝙖𝙣𝙩 𝙢𝙚,” 𝙄 𝙨𝙖𝙞𝙙. “𝘼𝙣𝙙 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙘𝙖𝙣 𝙝𝙖𝙫𝙚 𝙢𝙚. 𝙄’𝙢 𝙜𝙞𝙫𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙥𝙚𝙧𝙢𝙞𝙨𝙨𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙬𝙤𝙣’𝙩 𝙜𝙞𝙫𝙚 𝙮𝙤𝙪𝙧𝙨𝙚𝙡𝙛.”

it’s been a long time since i read a book i couldn’t put down, but these two hooked me right in from the beginning.
i swear i was giggling and kicking my feet the WHOLE WAY THROUGH! my sweet angel babies 🥹

“𝙉𝙤 𝙢𝙤𝙧𝙚 𝙧𝙪𝙣𝙣𝙞𝙣𝙜.”

every time i read these books i love it more and more, the park avenue prince boys are my favourite when they’re all together. i loved seeing caleb at JT’s friendship in this one too!

bring on east’s book 🤭

If you’re looking for a hit of pure dopamine, allow me to recommend the chemistry explosion that is Travis and Caleb! Ella and Brooke are taking no prisoners here!

Since this series began, Travis McKinney and Caleb Reeves couldn’t be in the same room without it being messy. Travis is debauched even for a Park Avenue Prince - always up for a good time, always dressed to the nines, and never with the same guy twice. It’s true he and the reserved photographer, Caleb, are total opposites, but these two had some serious and unexplained resentment. Now we finally find out the source of all that simmering tension!

Best friends turned stepbrothers turned bitter enemies, the story does a great job weaving between the current storyline and flashbacks explaining their past. I felt their connection from the first, and the misunderstanding that led to their falling out hurt my heart so good. And the tension and spice are absolutely insane! These two want it BAD, and I ate it up with a spoon. And Travis? Everything I could have asked for!

This story captures everything I’ve loved about this group of boys, and it’s definitely a series fave. And we are spoiled for James Easton content in this one, cementing my adoration and building the anticipation for his book. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a good stepbros book, with a crew of outrageous playboys!

We’re almost at the end of this delicious series and we get a call back to book one in the form of Caleb, the first person to make friends with JT when he came to study at Astor. You may recall him warning JT about the Park Avenue Princes, and it turns out that knowledge was direct insider information since he used to be one of them. He’s Travis McKinney’s stepbrother.

I love forbidden romances, especially of the stepbrother variety. Salacious Park Avenue Prince is enemies-to-lovers, with a bi-awakening, forced proximity, a secret romance, and a manwhore who falls fast, first, and hard. (Then there’s pining. So much pining). This installment is spicier than the last one, but not as spicy as Scandalous Park Avenue Prince (book 3, and still my favorite one).

A lot of the animosity in this book is based on miscommunication and what feels like willful misunderstanding, which isn’t a trope I like all that much no matter who’s involved. I did enjoy the chemistry between Travis and Caleb a lot, but that’s probably because I just enjoy Travis as a character a whole lot (I have throughout the whole series). I can’t put my finger on what exactly feels off about the character development in this book, but it feels like the relationship evolved but the characters didn’t evolve with it. I don’t know if that makes sense to anyone else but me, but there it is.

The spice is absolutely excellent, with dirty talk I love, lots of physicality, voyeurism, solo play, and a touch of exhibitionism. The romantic bits were exactly what I wanted to see, which is always nice. There was also no third-act break up, which isn’t an easy feat to accomplish when the miscommunication trope is in play. I was absolutely grateful for that.

As always, a great read from Ella and Brooke, and now we get a handful of months to wait before we finally get East’s story.

I was provided a copy of this title by the authors. All thoughts, opinions, views, and ideas expressed herein are mine and mine alone. Thank you.

How is each book better than last? Just how? I’m crying because this ended way too soon. I still wanted more of these two, tbh I want more of the entire Park Avenue Princes.

Salacious was everything I thought it would be and more. I loved seeing Caleb and JT be best friends, I had such a fun time watching Caleb roll his eyes at the Park Avenue Pricks especially East. I love the parents, the chicken at dinner and most importantly the dinner table and the expensive Persian rug.

I enjoyed that family, and how normal they were in their dynamic. ‘The nagging dad’, ‘mom who’s somehow both on your side and everyone else’s’, but I’ll say. I do have a great deal of respect for the parents for a lot of reasons I can’t state without spoiling the plot for a person or two.

All I can say is, all hail the park Avenue pricks! Mad love for ya💯
