From Heartache to Happiness!

I absolutely loved reading this one. Maddie never writes a bad story. So much love in the Castle now. A growing family. I’m thrilled the twins came to live with them. I would love more story but I always want that! Margot and Rhys were a match made in heaven. I just loved the characters and storyline so much. And I’m glad the others were there to celebrate. 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰💜💜💜💜💜😊😊😊😊😊

This is a well written Scottish Medieval historical romance with strong characters in Margot and Rhys. The author does a great job developing their story and kept me reading with the intrigue, mystery and emotions. She moves it fluidly with her descriptive scenes and delivers a terrific read.

I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book. All opinions in this review are my own and are freely given.

A traitor among us.

I loved the story of Rhys and Margot. Rhys, laird of Campbell but not by choice. The role became his when his brother Cormac was killed in battle saving Rhys. A terrible sickness took over the castle and Rhys called in a healer from a local village to help. Margot is known for her healing skills. She is tasked with identifying the cause of the sickness and healing the sick. There is something afoot in the castle. A traitor in the midst. I enjoyed the characters and the storyline and would have rated the book a 5 if there weren’t so many editing errors. It was a distraction from the story.

Solving problems

Laird Rhys and healer Margot's story is intriguing as a mysterious illness has struck his clan with several deaths. His healer said to summon her before losing consciousness. Margot agrees to help if he spends five nights with her hoping to thwart an unwanted marriage arranged by her father, he agrees to save his clan. They're attacked en route to the castle then again when called to another village where people are falling ill and dying. Two mysteries to solve brings them closer ...cause of the sudden illness and who wants him dead. Mystery solving, danger abounds, and their budding romance keeps you turning pages. I recommend this book.

Danger at every turn
I really enjoyed this story, it kept me captivated during reading trying to work out exactly who was sabotaging the castle and wanting to harm the laird. While one of the culprits was easy to work out the other I did not pick.
Rhys and Margot’s relationship was fraught with indecision and heartache. They loved fiercely but also pushed each other away at times.
This is a story with much danger, conspiracy, death, healing, a few steamy scenes and a couple navigating the pathway to love.

This book kept your attention from beginning to end. There's a lot going on that makes it hard to put the book down. You could almost feel the tension and the other emotions throughout the story. The author did an amazing job I'm making you feel part of the story.
There's a lot of questions that need answers. The level of mystery/intrigue I found extremely enjoyable. The characters are well developed. You could imagine them being your friends and neighbors. I look forward to seeing with the author has next.

A healer fir the laird

Margot is a healer and when she gets called to the castle because members of the clan have succumbed to a mysterious illness, she knows she must go. Not only would she be helping, but it is a way to avoid marriage to a lecherous suitor. When the cause for the illness is discovered, not only is Rhys but also Margot is in danger. Margot's problem solving not only discovers the cause of the illness, but also who the culprit is.
She has a definite way to break through the stubborn and guilt ravaged heart of the laird.

GREAT STORY!

Rhys was a new laird. His brother was killed in a fight trying to protect him. He did not want to be a laird. He had too though to care for his clan, as his brother did. A sickness hit the village. The healer, Talia, went down with the sickness. Her aide told Rhys that ,Margot was a healer that was trained by Talia. So he sent for her. Margot said she would help if the Laird would make it look like her virtue was tarnished. That way she would have to marry a disgusting man. Rhys agreed. The adventures that followed need to be read.

This well written story has a lot of drama going on. Laird Rhys is new to his position since his older brother was killed in war and if that isn't enough a sickness has taken over the castle, he calls for someone how happens to be Margot. The sparks are intense between them and will Rhys be able to fight the feelings between him and Margot. This story kept me glued to the epees from start to finish.
I am volunteering to leave a review for an ARC of this book.

Conspiracy

Margot is called upon to help Clan Campbell when there is a sickness affecting a large amount of the castle inhabitants. She meets Rhys Lawson the Laird. She immediately starts to help the people but then they are called to help another village and she finds that someone is poisoning the people. They find that the people that did this were closer than they ever thought.

Rhys and Margot

Margot is beautiful inside out and she did her best to fulfil her duties as the healer when her mentor the castle healer took sick. Rhys is broken from the war and grieving the loss of his brother. He is struggling with his new responsibilities as the new laird as he feels he’s not good enough. The beautiful lass makes him happy and he wants to keep her. Lots of twists and captivating. I highly recommend this beautiful book.

Wanted to like this book

I really wanted to like this book. The plot was good and I would have rated this higher except for the gross grammatical errors that disrupted the storyline. I could have proof read this story much better than whoever did. Incorrect pronouns and names were frequently evident, for example, when Rhys was substituted for Ashton's name when describing his head wound being treated. It was very disappointing.

Chivalry is not dead

A story of valor, honor and love that is brought together by a need to help one another. Facing many dangers, harmful people, and discouraging family members, they save one another and bring a clan back from the deceits of others. This book was well written and thoroughly enjoyed.

In all fairness, I didn’t finish this book. There were too many things that made no sense. Maybe I would have enjoyed the book if I had continued, but honestly I couldn’t get past the fact that neither the healer or the laird seemed to feel the urgency to take care of the castle full of sick and dying people.

A Scottish Romance With The Highland Devil

This was a mystery as well as a romance. People in the castle were getting sick and some were dying. The Laird called for more healers . His head healer was so sick she was unconscious.
She had been trained by her Mother and the now sick head healer. Hope you enjoy as much as I did.

Margot has a problem, she is betrothed to the most horrible person, one who seems like he is only concerned with her purity more than the woman she is. He has told her he will send her sisters away once they are married and that is unacceptable for her.
Laird Rhys was not prepared for the circumstances that led him to become the Laird and wasn’t prepared for it.
When sickness comes to the castle and he is requested to bring Margot to help solve the matter as a healer, she immediately answered the call, asking for a favor.
The Laird was receptive and began the agreement as soon as he could.
Sickness, guilt and more await the pair, and it’s a wonderful story! 5 stars indeed! Grab it up and read it, I read it in almost one evening, but only because life made me stop when I didn’t want to. You won’t be disappointed!!!

Needs an editor

While the story was interesting, there are so many errors that at times it was difficult to understand. There are misspelled words, errors in character identification and words that make no sense even considering the attempt at using a Scottish accent.
