Not my cup of tea.

Sadie and the guys are totally different characters than in the first book, the feel of the plot is very different too, I know that it's supposedly another realm but still, they don't even talk the same way.
Sadie was shy, introvert almost distrustful in the first book, I'm glad to see her get more confident and all but she reads like another totally different characters, I dont recognize her at all.
Same goes for Aran, and their interactions are so different, that's very confusing.
The guys are absolutely despicable and the spice was lukewarm at best.
She didn't even had sex with all of them which I dont mind but still very strange considering the fact that it’s a reverse harem.
Weird also that the story stops here and that we're moving with Aran's story next;

I don't recommend this series.

I was provided an e-copy of the book by the author in exchange for an honest review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

✅ Pace and action
✅ Hilarious and badass MC
✅ Multiple POVs
✅ Angst and hurt
✅ Omegaverse and shifters
✅ Smut and sexual tension
✅ Reverse-harem (it finally happened!)
✅ Snark and sass
✅🆗 Worldbuilding / Bigger plot
❗️❗️ Trigger warnings: mentions of physical abuse and torture, tentative of sexual abuse, blood, executions, drug use (and abuse), PTSD, and group sex in front of people

I apologize in advance for the many quotes and the length of this review. 😅

This book was as addictive as the previous ones, and I think it was my favorite so far. We have trials and life-or-death intense situations like we saw in the second book but mixed with the angst and “I pretend that I hate you” behavior from the first book and it was a DELIGHT to read.

“Should we be worried?” Lucinda asked as she grimaced at the wall.
I thought about it for a moment and shook my head. “We’ve literally survived the evil fae queen. How bad could the Mafia be? Plus, we’ve got Aran.”

After escaping the Fae Realm, Sadie and her ragtag group were hoping for some quiet time to process and deal with everything that happened to them, but as soon as they arrive in the Beast Realm, they are brought to the local Mafia’s Don, and they are, once again, forced into a series of trials that they have to pass if they want to be allowed to live as alphas in the city and remain together.

I liked how we could see different characters’ personal growth or journey toward healing in this book, even with all the action and craziness, but on the other hand, while the issue of trauma is heavily present, it is not addressed in a very healthy way. It fits with the characters’ behaviors and personalities, but I would love for Sadie and Aran to truly try to work on their issues in the next book. The author did take the time to build strong and most-of-the-time-sweet relationships between the characters, and those bonds helped them survive and get through whatever life threw their way. We can also see that these characters are layered and complex enough to be interesting and different from each other, despite all being strong possessive, and not always super-functional males, or violent and slightly-crazy women with a traumatic past.

Weren’t cats supposed to always land on their feet? I could not emphasize how much I landed completely on my belly. The story of my life should have been titled Sadie: The Bitch Who Was in Pain.

Also, it looked like another one of us was joining the severe parental issues group. I’d let him know when Aran and I scheduled our next therapy session. Sun god knew we needed it.

I won’t lie, this series is really weird at times. Sadie is her own kind of crazy and clearly needs the help of a psychologist, but she knows it, and she’s just rolling with the craziness and all the shit that keeps happening to her. All of them are suffering from past traumas, and some are dealing with it better than others. Still, their brand of craziness and intensity is something I didn’t know I needed until I read the first book of this series a few months ago. It’s just so easy to get lost in those books and to get hooked by Sadie’s crazy-intense life and the ridiculous situations she ends up in. Her inner monologues reminded me a little of Willa in the Curse of the Gods series at times, but Sadie has a badass side that Willa does not have, and Willa is healthier, mentally speaking. Still, Sadie’s monologues and reflections made me laugh out loud many times.

Aran and Sadie’s friendship is gold. Their banter is hilarious, but we can see how much they love each other despite their insults and threats. They would do anything for each other, and I can’t wait to see how Sadie will be involved in the next book that will follow Aran, because I doubt that she will be able to leave her best friend alone for long. Those two need each other to be functional, and I liked their “girl moments” where they would just talk shit about the men or do silly normal girl stuff and forget that their life is in danger for a few hours.

Xerxes rasped softly, “I want to show you my nest.”
My heart skipped a beat. I whispered softly, “Do you lay eggs?” Had I missed the signs all along? Was Xerxes part bird, part kitten? My mind stuttered as I tried to picture it.
A broken chuckle burst from his chest. “My omega nest, you idiot.” He groaned and leaned his forehead against mine.

Xerxes won my heart in this book. I disliked him very much after finishing the first book, I found him interesting in the second book and thought he had the potential to be a compelling character, but in this one he truly shined. He has a darker and kinkier side that I did not anticipate, but I am not complaining. I just love how he tried his best to support Sadie and make her feel worthy (most of the time anyway), and how he understood how the alphas’ behavior drove her crazy at times and was there to silently support her since the second book.

“Do you need me to kill someone?” he asked seriously.
Why was Jax the only man in all the realms that wasn’t an actual garbage bag?
“No, and I don’t want to talk about it,” I snapped and kept marching past.
“Of course.” Jax calmly followed beside me as I charged into the kitchen.
I was about to consume my body weight in food, and if any man said one more word to me, I was going to lose it.
Jax ate beside me in silence.
That was why he was my favorite.

Jax is also a sweet sweet sweet alpha that learned how to behave and what not to say to a woman because he has 5 younger sisters. It made me laugh how Jax would just sweep in as soon as Cobra started acting too crazy or started saying things that he shouldn’t (like how Sadie belonged to him), and take him away from Sadie until he cooled down… Or how he would hit him a few times too depending on how offended Sadie was.

We gave off big ragtag energy. Add on to that the fact that we bickered like old ladies playing bingo, and I’m sure Sunglasses Man was very confused.
Still, my heart was full and heavy in my chest. Yes, it was still slightly full of acid reflux, but it was mostly full of love because we were reunited with our sisters and still all together.

Alone, we were unwell.
Connected, we were fucking psychos.

I also love the unhinged side of Cobra, even if I would NEVER put up with him in real life, and how Ascher was being nice and sweet (again, most of the time) because he is still trying to prove himself to Sadie. Individually, I love them all, and they all are kinda sweet, even Cobra, in his weird way, but together they are just chaotic and violent. Add to that a traumatized Aran, Lucinda, and Jax’s sisters, and the chaos just doubled. Seriously, even though they were not part of the trials, the sisters and Aran were just as much a part of this story as the men and Sadie, and I am in love with their dysfunctional chaotic group. The concept of packs and bonds was also introduced in this book, and it was interesting, to say the least. The sexual tension and violence were even more intense because of it, and it added some drama to the already dramatic plot and characters.

I didn’t want men who only protected me when it suited them. I wanted men who wanted me for me and genuinely cared.

It’s no secret that I’m an angst lover, and that side of me was happy with this book! I really enjoyed the “bully” vibe of the first book, and while Sadie and the men developed a somewhat strong bond since then, the author found a way to bring them back to this toxic place where they pretend that they hate each other and even want to hurt the others on purpose, and while it’s a toxic behavior, I absolutely loved the angst it added to the plot.

Suddenly, there was a loud shriek, and everyone whipped around in surprise. Xerxes pulled out his twin knives. Immediately, the tension dissipated. It was Cobra who had shrieked, and he was hiding behind Ascher’s large frame.
Jinx was holding a long, furry black creature in her hands. “What is that?” Cobra growl-hissed at Jinx.
For the first time since I’d met her, Jinx giggled like the twelve-year-old girl she was. “It’s a ferret. The don stopped by to say hello and gave us him as a housewarming gift.”

(…)

“This is Noodle. He is my new best friend.” Noodle took that moment to chitter and wave his two little front legs in the air.
Cobra shrieked and hid behind Ascher. Ascher moved to the side and glared down at him with exasperation. “Dude, you’re embarrassing yourself.”
“That creature is not natural. Tell her to get rid of it, Jax.”

The girls had made a makeshift track out of toilet paper down the length of the hall and were screaming as Noodle raced against a hamster. I decided it was not my business where the hamster had come from.
When Lucinda yelled something about Jinx owing her ten credits because Noodle ran off the course and the hamster won, I ignored it. Frankly, the girls developing a gambling problem was the least of my concerns.

Having Jax’s little sisters and Lucinda as new additions to the group certainly created some interesting and hilarious situations, but it also allowed for a more human and sensible side of the alphas and the omega to show. Sadie was able to have “girl time” and to just cuddle, and talk like an almost normal person, and having to interact with the younger and more vulnerable girls forced the 4 men to be more aware of what they said and how they behaved… sometimes… Because there were other times when they were totally unhinged in from of the girls and didn’t give a shit…

“What does BDSM stand for?” Lucinda asked.
Ascher choked again and sputtered wine everywhere.
I debated crawling under the table, and my face burned as I said, “Well, it’s hard to explain. But when two people are in a trusting relationship, and love each other very muc—”
“Bondage, discipline, dominance, submission, sadism, and masochism,” Jinx said. “Technically, the proper acronym is BDDSSM.”
“What are you binding?” Jala asked as Lucinda scrunched her face in confusion.
“Jinx,” Jax growled threateningly.
Cobra put his fist in his mouth as his shoulders shook with silent laughter.
“Another person, usually a naked one, during rough penetrative sex,” Jinx said casually as she cut her steak into tiny pieces.
Cobra lost his silent battle and burst out laughing.

Jinx. Is. Hilarious.
And terrifying.
I just love her seriousness, and how she can bully grown-ups with a few well-aimed truths. She has impressive observation skills and even some strange powers that I really hope to see more of in the next book(s). I would definitely be in for an older-Jinx spinoff with her sisters, Lucinda, and Noodle the ferret.

This series is a guilty pleasure for me. It is fast-paced, full of action and sexual tension (and smut too), the characters are all crazy in their own way, but we can’t help loving them, and Sadie made me laugh out loud many times in this one… Because of her crazy interactions or her hilarious inner monologues. I am really happy to know that there will be a fourth book that will most likely focus on Aran, and I can’t wait to read more about him and this crazy universe. Also, I definitely would not be opposed to a RH involving Aran and the legendary half-warriors from the second book.

2. Psycho Faes ⭐⭐⭐⭐.5

This was honestly pretty disappointing. I LOVED the previous two books in the trilogy, but this one just didn't do it for me.

My main positive for this book is that the author's sense of humor is great. It's startling (in a good way) to see jokes that are more representative of my generation's nihilistic, absurdist humor. I've found that books written by authors trying to appeal to younger demographics fall especially flat, so this was such a welcome change. It honestly wasn't as funny as the last book, but it was still pretty good.

My discontent is pretty general except for these two things:

1. The repeated sex scenes drove me CRAZY.
I'm already not really a fan of this author's smut because it feels flat, so having the same scene repeated just from a different point of view was intensely irritating. I understand that the author probably felt like the second character's feelings during the scene were so important that they needed their own POV, but this could have been cured through some good writing and vigorous use of show not tell. It felt like a waste of time.

2. The relationship development was fairly nonexistent.
The dynamic of the first two books was Sadie trying to survive while the alphas became slowly obsessed with her, but in this book, their obsession was kind of a given, and nothing new happened in their relationships except Sadie starting something with Xerxes .

Also a bonus totally spoilery complaint:
I liked most of the plot of this book except the ending.

I didn't hate this book and will totally pick up everything else Jasmine Mas writes, but I spent months waiting for this book to come out and had pretty high expectations.

Man, this is a rough one. I was going to give this 3 stars because it was MEH as far as reading experience goes, and I didn't hate it entirely. That being said, I do think this is the worst book of the three so far. However, I'm now seeing online that this is the last book of Sadie's story, which IMMEDIATELY brings this down to a 2 star rating, which I'll explain further later on.

First of all, I want to say that I absolutely think the world building and exploration in this book is good and well done. It gives us more information and helps explain the world a lot more to us. I appreciate that a lot.

BUT, we got some problems as far as the romance goes. This is meant to be a paranormal romance, remember? And YIKES.
So.... my primary issue here is that as soon as Sadie makes a call to step away from them because she's scared and wants to protect them, the guys turn into ULTRA dicks. Their behavior is honestly abhorrent and they revert back to the bullies from the beginning of the first book. Big yikes.
In this book, we SHOULD be getting relationship development and relationship growth, but that's not what's happening. Instead, Sadie is back to being a punching bag and they treat her like shit for a lot of the book. Only for us to get a bunch of 'i love yous' towards the end. Fuck off lmao.

Once we get to the end of the book, we have more problems. First of all, I have no fucking clue why we're trying to justify Dick and his awful abuse of Sadie her whole life. Like... girl. Get real.
Also, we get like a sort of HEA at the end, and from what I can see online it looks like this is the end of Sadie's story. Which makes ZERO sense because throughout this entire book she's told she's the champion of the Moon Goddess and the one who has to save the world? Sooooo.... how is this the end?

I'm over it. 2 stars.

this series is nuts and not in a good way.

i read the entire series just to witness the ridiculousness of it all. this book has no coherent plot despite the constant action that was happening. i could’ve read this a hundred times and i still simply can’t tell you what the plot was. the characters are completely different from the first book, it’s like reading a completely different series. i wouldn’t even call it character development as they act so fucking dumb from start to finish it baffles me

no consistency
no vibes
no plot
no spice

just wtf

I'm SO GLAD this series is over (for me). The heroine and "heroes" got more and more unhinged as the books progressed. It was like they became a caricature of their former selves. The ending was meh. I disliked that everything was a "test". I was zoning out for the duration of this whole book. I fast-forwarded quite a bit just to get it over with because I just wanted to know how it all ended. Her psychotic bestie was such an annoyance. Frankly, when the ferret was introduced I wanted his story over whatever the rest of this book was. I'm just done with this series at this point.

Now that they’ve escaped the Fae Queen, the group has made it to Serpentine City, only to be stopped because Cobra might be the heir and they need to be initiated. If not, then they cannot stay and everything can go downhill again for them.

*•.¸♡ ★·.·´¯`·.·★ 𝑻𝒉𝒐𝒖𝒈𝒉𝒕𝒔 ★·.·´¯`·.·★ ♡¸.•*

I continued the series even though I didn’t like the first few books because I wanted to see how it would wrap up, but it got drastically worse. I want to be as nice as possible, but the original plot got lost, and random detail started being inserted. Suddenly the book had mafia elements and the characters how to do an initiation, which is not relevant in book one or two.

Even worse, the characters were completely different and treated Sadie terribly. Jax, Xerxes, Cobra, and Ascher bonded, and they acted like that gave them an excuse to be assholes when she distanced herself away. The majority of the time, I didn’t know what was happening because it felt like a new series with different characters. In the previous book, the main antagonist was the Fae queen, and all of a sudden, Cobra is now the heir to the Serpentine City. I’m surprised the series has such high ratings because I didn’t understand what was great about it. The dialogue was bad, and the romance was just not set up properly. I think there was no development from the first book to now, and there’s no point in suggesting they were actually in love. Typically in an RH, they either get along or have conversations about how they will make a relationship work, and it just did it happen in this book. It felt forced on everybody’s part, especially because Cobra was the most possessive one, and from the start, he didn’t even like her that much. He always preferred Jax. It seemed like he saw her as a possession and not a person he loved and said he just wanted to say she was his.

*•.¸♡ ★·.·´¯`·.·★ 𝑹𝒐𝒎𝒂𝒏𝒄𝒆 ★·.·´¯`·.·★ ♡¸.•*

To me, this isn't love, and it shouldn't be a romance book when Cobra doesn't give her the same amount of respect he gave Jax, nor do the others. They were not on common ground because Jax, Xerxes, Cobra, and Ascher treated her like they were entitled to her affection and would get upset if she distanced herself to protect them. They quickly shut her out when they bonded and easily flirted with other girls, then blamed it on the "heat" as if that was good enough. They WANTED to her Sadie, and they always treated her as weak. Until she used her blood powers on them to act as marionette dolls, they scolded her for going too far, as if they didn't go far when they iced her out and made her jealous on purpose. Sadie deserved better, and I wouldn't say I liked her character. The book had bad dialogue, and it's understandable for Sadie because she's a teenage girl, but the way that the others express themselves makes them seem like children, and it's an ick for me.

Jax was the only one who felt bad and was reasonable at times, but he was still an asshole when they all decided to ignore her. Of all people, I expected more from him. Cobra was the worst. I was upset when he broke his vow and talked to another girl; he is a drama king, and just because he's a serpent doesn't give him the excuse to say it's his "beast" and not him. Ascher has been an ass from the beginning, so I'm not surprised he took it badly and said he didn't want her anyway. He literally did and was willing to do anything for her forgiveness, and suddenly, she's asking for friendship, and he hates her again. These are the type of guys to switch up so fast as soon as a girl doesn't give him what he wants. All of them were walking red flags. At times, I liked Xerxes because he just wanted to be loved by an Alpha, and as an Omega, he needed that praise. He, of course, followed what the others did and shut her out, and he was in "heat," so he blamed it on that, and he's terrible for that. I was like ??? Be a better MMC and resist it, and have some sense of control.

I could go on and on about how much I disliked the book, but I feel like there is no point. It lost the wow factor it had compared to book one because they left their realm and never went back. Most people also called this a "slow burn," but the romance doesn't make sense between anyone other than Jax and Cobra. I understand why they're in love; they've known each other for ages and match each other's energy. I don't understand why they're so obsessed with Sadie, and I'm sick of hearing how much she smells like cranberries!!!! It's not good. I wanted to like this so bad, but I just read this book to finish off the Sadie POV books, and I'm not even going to continue Aran's because it's a mess that I'm not partaking in.

I couldn’t get into this one like the other two.

For some reason this book to me felt forced, and overly dramatic.

It still had the same problems that I disliked and stated in my other reviews. But without a doubt not even the world building was enough to save this book.

⭐️ 5 Stars for Storyline and execution
⭐️ 2 Stars for Romance

It’s tough to rate a series or book when on the one hand, it was spectacular, and on the other hand, it kind of sucked. That’s basically how I feel about this story.

The world-building, the characters, and the storyline were amazing! I loved every bit of it. I inhaled these books and almost wanted to start reading them all over again immediately. I adored that everyone is a little bit crazy and most definitely insane. I loved this vibrant, insane, and definitely twisted world. The characters all had defined personalities, and they felt unique! They ended up having strong background stories; reading about them was so much fun.

On the other hand, my very favorite relationship was between Sadie and Aran/Ara. I love those girls! They are entirely certifiable, and I adore them as BFF’s.

What I didn’t like? The romance.

This book was a really garbage romance. There are many, MANY reasons why I thought it sucked as a romance, but the most telling reason is this: if these guys cared for Sadie at all, they wouldn’t have gone back to being cruel bullies in the last book. The fact that they all went back to being bullies, even worse than they ever were before, to me, means they aren’t worthy of her. I also really, really didn’t like how they continued treating her like a pet or object instead of a person. That never changed throughout the series and only continued getting worse.

Another way that this book failed me as a romance was the sex. They didn’t have ANY until 75% into the last book! And you know what? The only person who actually screwed her was Xerxes. She never even got to feel an alpha knot! How disappointing. Yes, Asher gave her anal when he DP’d with Xerxes, but it doesn’t count. For as often as they talk about sex, they really only have it once.

Sooo…if you remove the romance expectations, this book was the best series ever and didn’t fail me at all. Add the failed romance aspect, and I’m giving this series 4 stars. It was good, not great, and I’m as stingy as a miser with my 5-star ratings.

Anyway, the series was so much fun to read, and I inhaled them all in basically one sitting. I can’t wait to read Aran/Arabella’s story.

3.5 stars.
I’m disappointed honestly.
I loved the characters, the psycho behavior and thoughts, the humor that had me cackling at Multiple points through the series.
But the relationships were weak as hell, the development taking big leaps in the second book and then boomeranging right back around in this third one.
Plus the smut was mostly a long line of ✨almost✨ moments that teased us. I did like that Sadie seemed to be even more frustrated with that than I was, but it wasn’t enough in the end. Especially not when only one of the men fully connected with her intimately like that.

I just really wanted more. And I expected more since the author made every indication that their story would be complete by the end of the three books.
And then goes completely against that by saying that their story will continue to overlap with Aran’s in the next books.

I really liked the writing and characters, which is why I’m so disappointed with this completely unsatisfying ending.

interesting premise, shit partners.

ive come to the conclusion that they lost all right to even attempt a grovel. just as the boys were getting tolerable, they became immediately cruel to sadie once she said she wasnt sure of bonding?? and for Valid reasons. death hello????? theres only so many times they can gang up on her and be cruel and disrespectful i wished she really gave it to them or actually had a whole breakdown where they felt bad but no... weird consolation if that even is one. cobra is written as those morally grey character that leans black but if youre going 2 be mentally unwell u Need to be hot but hes just mentally well (and a jerk)

This book gave me such mixed feelings!!! While I loved it at some points, at others, I wanted to just skip to the good part. I see how focusing on Sadie's relationship with Aran and the other girls was important to the storyline, but I definitely needed a little less of it.

this is the kind of book series you can only get through if you don’t take it too seriously. kind of like reading a wattpad book, if you go into it accepting there will be plot holes and random behaviour and dialogue and a vague lack of continuity then you’ll be fine.

it’s the type of book you read at 2am when you want to read something but don’t want to have to think too hard. there are a lot of interactions and scenes that make zero sense and are absolutely not realistic at all but you know what? sometimes you just need to read an unserious, crazy, half-plotted book with unrealistic characters and places and lots of funny one-liners. the funny one-liners and stupid quips are really the only reason I kept reading this series, they redeemed it for me.

book 1 was very hit and run for a while but book 2 was significantly more entertaining in my eyes and book 3 was kind of in between.

also for those who want to read this series for the smut aspects, again, very hit or miss. i wouldn’t exactly say they’re well written scenes, and i wouldn’t say they particularly make sense half the time in terms of plot/ the established relationships and personalities of the characters. honestly after a small while i just skimmed those pages because they felt very shoe-horned in and irrelevant to me. around the time i started skimming (about halfway through the book i’d say) was around the time it started feeling dragged out and i was less interested in actually reading it and more interested in finishing it just because i wanted it to end and had already sunk time into finishing the first two books.

this is definitely not the worst book i’ve ever read, it does have some semblance of plot and has entertaining chapters and moments littered throughout, but it also (to me) very clearly lies in the realm of “trashy” reads, i mean that in the best possible way.

NAAAAAAAUUUUUUR 😬😢

I was waiting FOR SO LONG AND IM SO DISSATISFIED

There was passion 🌶 but no passion in the writing ✍️or plot 📝.

I wanted DRAMA not resurrection sub plots

The author should lean more into the prophecies, backstories, and character development.

This installment was nothing more than a novella that causes readers to be turned off; inevitably hurting the author who intends to create a spin off series

My best guest is that the author is trying to produce work at a higher pace to appease the influx of interested readers but the quality of her work is plummeting. It is clear that the development of the spin-off series will continue to decrease the quality.

I’m saddened as there was uniqueness in the portrayal of the shifters but the shifter verse continues to remain underdeveloped and disorganized.

I will no longer continue the series but there is potential in plot development nor hope that a cohesive writing style will form

**I received an ARC of this book from the author in exchange for my honest review.**

WOW!! What an awesome way to end this series! I'm so happy that Sadie and her boys Jax, Xerxes, Ascher, and Cobra finally got their happy ending but boy were there struggles! I was a little worried one might not make during parts but I worried for nothing. This final book also brought out the heat...finally. Sadie loses her v-card to one of the boys and I loved it. Afterwards, she gets to "lovin" the rest of them! LOL My favorite guy continuously changed but in the end I fell for Xerxes completely. Originally, I wasn't into his character that much but by the end he was the sweetest but still dangerous.

One of my favorite things is the relationship between Sadie and her BFF Aran. I actually laughed out loud many times during their times together. We should all hope to have the kind of friendship that they have.

I absolutely adored this series and I'm so sad its over. Luckily, Jasmine Mas is writing Psycho Academy: Aran's Story which is all about Aran! (Obviously, bc of the title) I cannot wait for it. This is a must read series!!

NOPE! I’m not reading ANOTHER one with no freaking spice!

DNF, there was one ALMOST spice scene and the guess what NOTHING HAPPENED AGAIN. So I decided to read reviews and guess what I found? The fact that she doesn’t sleep with ANY of the alpha but they are just SO OBSESSED with her. I’m over this series it’s a waste of time.

The storyline is garbage and now there are even more characters which is making it very confusing. And with such a clusterfu*k of a storyline one would hope the smut would help even it out but nope.

This is also hardly a RH this is BL and with a ‘small’, ‘tiny’, ‘scrawny’ female alpha thrown in who in turn has made 0 progress on becoming stronger. Which is annoying in itself. She’s only powerful when she switches personalities?

The first book wasn’t the best but it was better then the other two. And even tho there was only male on male in the first book at least their was actual spice and relationship growth.

Don’t read.

I don’t know how she’s done it! I’m officially obsessed with this series. This is the third in the trilogy, but the overarching story is far from over. The next book will be Aran’s story, and it doesn’t come out for over a month! I’m going to have to find something to fill the void in my heart that this series has carved out.
5++++ stars!

Super enjoyed this series and can’t wait to read about Aran!!! Perfect for reverse harem lovers who like humor and tension with “touch her and die” kinda vibes. 🖤

Not worth any of the hype this author gets. This is the worst series I’ve ever read. The characters are very different from the first book, although I didn’t like either version of them. The FMC is downright annoying. The author uses slang and is highly repetitive. This is most definitely not a RH. She’s a virgin through the first two books only to have sex three times total in this one? The third time is literally one sentence about the positions they were in and that’s it. She doesn’t even have sex with each of them. It’s fine but it’s just weird. I’ve included some of the most painful quotes from this book because I’ve gotten so tired of explaining my problems with this author from her other books so now you can see for yourself how bad her writing is.

“I inched closer to the window, prepared to dramatically throw my body through it in a display of sheer unwellness.”
As I’ve mentioned in my previous reviews of the series unwell and unwellness(not even a word) are the authors favorite words. She never uses any synonyms either and repeats them incessantly throughout the series in reference to all characters.

“Armor-clad soldiers streamed over the horizon, an unfathomable army that never ended. The sheer numbers were unfathomable.” Really. This should have been edited out. Goes to show no one did edit this book.

“Low-key, I was way too young for this.” Why. Why did she include slang. She also said vibe a lot and it’s weird.

Says “in another life” 5 times within the VERY SAME SCENE and then said “in this life” immediately after that. Why.

“As a reward” or “rewarded her” 3 times in the same (very short) scene which was supposed to be steamy and was just annoying because it was so poorly written.

“As the kids say these days, ‘It was lit.’” Again why the slang. Also weird coming from the FMC who acts like a child and is repeatedly called dumb in the series.

“I proceeded to learn a very important lesson: it’s impossible to strangle yourself with toilet paper.” Are you f*ing kidding me.

“While it was hard to remember sometimes, everything wasn’t all about me.” The FMC is so annoying I wanted to punch her repeatedly.

If you’ve read all of this you should understand by now that this series is a painful experience. Please don’t waste your time. And if you need more convincing the ending sucked. The plot never comes together and at the end I actually found myself saying wtf is even going on right now. She actually found a way to justify the horrible abuse and tryna the FMC endured her entire life. And the books could’ve all be paired down so much. She decided it was a good idea to include the same exact scenes from multiple POVs. As in she wrote a chapter from the FMC pov and then repeated the same thing from a male POV it was unnecessary and unbearable. I promise you it does not get better. There is no light at the end of the tunnel. There’s a perfect example of the correct way to repeat the same thing while saying it DIFFERENTLY a lesson the author never learned. Please stop publishing her books.

I don't know why people have rated this so high. It reads like a wattpad story. While consistent, the characters and dialogue feel very "jumpy" and out of place. Also, the character's behaviors and their relationships with eachother are bipolar and contribute nothing to the plot line. It was bad-quality writing and I wasn't able to finish the series. Disappointing after two great books.

Mas, Jasmine Psycho Beast Cruel Shifterverse, #3 74 - 7046 30.10.2022 - 03.11.2022 538 Seiten
Date:
Shelfs:

BASIC FACTS:
Pages: #3 538
My rating: 3 stars
Genre: rh, fantasy, shifter, fae
Protagonist Ages: 20 and much older.
Pacing: okay
Plot Rating: 3

Psycho Beast, the third book in the Cruel Shifterverse Series begins with a List of the characters, which I really liked. The ending of the book left me confused and I liked the first two books better. I didn’t like that there were chapters, told form one POV and the next Chapter was again the same event/scene from a different POV. It threw me off and I always was taken away from the story. Since the new POV did nothing for me, I tried to skip the things I already knew. If the author would have left his out, she would have saved 80 to 100 pages.
The ending left me confused too. Because I feel that they didn’t accomplish much. It’s like reading The Lord of the Rings but the story ends after book 2. Something is missing. I didn’t get a HEA and I didn’t get closure. And then Dick was turned from being a Dick into the good soldier, who just did was he was told. I am confused and hope somebody will help me out and clear up my confusion.

No Summery because it’s book 3 of Sadie’s story and you need to read it without lurking into the summery 😀

❤️I really really like the way Jasmine Mas write. I find it hilarious, and here like in the previous books Sadie is full of sass and I loved everything that was coming out of her mouth.

❌On the downside I felt like in 3 books the romance never moves on, up until the point when it all happens at once. I would have liked to see more individual bonding between Sadie and the Boys and general bonding of all the pack.
Also there were just two sex scenes - repeated from different pov - when we could have had more (like 4), but in different moments and context.
The storyline was pretty solid for all 3 books and I really liked the world building and the characters, but I don't know this book convinced me less. The relationships were too superficial, Jax and Asher almost disappeared, and also what about Jax and Cobra relationship? I needed more.

I would give it 4 stars just for Jinx. I just hope we will be able to see her story, because I need more of her.

*4.5

these characters 😩🤤
cobra, the king of assholes.
jax, a big teddy bear… literally.
xerxes, sweetest little traumatized kitten ever.
ascher, big & brooding ass hat.
aran, i love that chick with my whole heart.
& sadie, the most relatable character i’ve ever read. i need more characters in books with her humor, sarcasm & unwellness.

🐱🐍🐻🐏

i had so much fun reading this trilogy & recommend this to anyone looking for some sexual tension, four toxic but equally harmless men, dialogue that will have you laughing your ass off.

the only downside: i wish the ending of this wasn’t as rushed. the pacing of the last 100 pages isn’t what i wanted. i wanted MOOORE, but that’s just me being greedy.

I was really hoping there would be some good connections formed between all of the characters but that never really happened for me. In all honesty I only went back to this series after originally giving up when I finished Book 1 just to get Aran's story, which is the next book. Which now I'm second guessing myself on wanting to read but I know I'll give in and do it since I love the whole "girl pretending to be a boy" thing. So here's hoping the next goes better for me

“Should we be worried?” Lucinda asked as she grimaced at the wall.
I thought about it for a moment and shook my head. “We’ve literally survived the evil fae queen. How bad could the Mafia be? Plus, we’ve got Aran.”

It was a good wrap up for Sadie's story, still leaving the door open for future tales, as well as setting up the plot for Aran’s story. The writing style has improved along the way greatly and I'm happy I chose to give this series a chance. I was too busy reading this book to finish my review for the second book, so I'll have to go and finish that one and then return for this one. But I'll leave here my favorite scenes in the meantime.

🐍👩🏻Cobra and Jinx bickering

“The fact that you’re telling me to grow up is embarrassing for you.”

“No, there definitely has been a mistake. I don’t understand how they made it so the straps cover everything but my boobs and vagina. How does that make any sense?”
I quickly pulled back the curtain to flash her my outfit.

“Buy that. Immediately,” he croaked.
