Camp Jackwood

Rate this book
When NYC party boy Micah gets roped into being a counselor at a summer camp deep in the Maine wilderness, he's convinced it's the start of a disaster movie. But things go from bad to erect, once he finds out his bunkmate is Wyatt, the ruggedly handsome and muscular lifeguard who can start a fire with two sticks and a smirk.

Micah's idea of roughing it involves spotty Wi-Fi and the occasional Starbucks outage, but fortunately he has six abdominal-shaped reasons to pay attention to Wyatt and his outdoorsy lessons. As Micah trades spa days for bonfire nights, Wyatt finds himself falling for the city boy who’s more likely to post about the sunrise than wake up for one.

With each new adventure–whether it’s Micah’s sunburnt bum or Wyatt’s rope-tying tutorial–their unlikely romance blooms. At Camp Jackwood, pitching a tent is easy, but can a relationship work between a guy who’s lost in the woods, and one who’s locked away his heart?

Finn Dixon made a childhood dream come true and has worked in the zoological field since 2006. He’s taken care of everything from alligators to zebras, but his favorites will always be rhinos. Thus far, his MM romances have focused on contemporary stories that include jocks (and jockstraps), but fantasy, paranormal, and historical have been observed in the crystal ball of Finn’s future.

In his spare time, he likes watching gay films and shows with happy endings (giggity), playing Disney Dreamlight Valley, re-watching Jurassic Park and Clue, and traveling when he can afford it.

And yes, he likes jocks, but he promises all his books won’t be about them.

Or will they?

Yes, another fun and flirty story by Finn which I really enjoyed reading. It's a steamy and low angst summer story and it made me giggle a few times. NYC party boy Micah gets sent to a summer camp for a few months by his father. It is a big change for him but it is a pleasant surprise that he gets to share a room with the hot Wyatt and there's an instant chemistry between them. They quickly became friends and more. But they don't live close to each other and despite having had a bad relationship, Wyatt has to decide if he's ready to take a chance with Micah. Only negative is that I wish the story was longer😁

Short, spicy, and surprisingly sweet!

Wyatt and Micah are both shy but in different ways. Micah wants Wyatt to take the lead, and Wyatt has no problems being flirty and giving off those vibes. But once Micah gives in Wyatt’s past causes him to back off a bit until Micah can coax him out again. And once that happens there’s no keeping their hands off each other.

I loved how Micah was not happy being in the great outdoors without his amenities but by the end really grew to love being at camp and helping the kids.

I also liked how they were not on the same page with their relationship, but in a good way with a good outcome. Once you read you will see what I mean 🙂.

If you like your summer romance with a huge side of steam, you'll love Camp Jackwood. The men in the story were a definite opposites attract story, with Micah being thrust into the camp counselor role and Wyatt being a natural, but beyond that, this novella gives us a chance to watch Micah grow into his environment and he and Wyatt grow together.

This is definitely not a slow burn, so if you like your story to feature instant attraction and lots of heat, that doesn't just come from the camp bonfire, than Camp Jackwood is for you.

Summertime romp for life please! My gosh this was good! It was fun and smexy! Playful and tender, sweet and at a moment or two mini angst was involved!

I can’t wait to see more in the Camp Jackwood world!

Micah and Wyatt rule!

There wasn't much of a plot, more an interesting setting for all sorts of really hot experiments and summer fun. There were plenty of amusing moments. The MCs really matched their age and felt very realistic. Definitely not the summer Micah had been dreading.

This campy (ha!) romp of a story is so fun and so HOT!!! It’s essentially smut with some plot, and I am here for it! The storyline is cute, and watching the two MC dance around each other then fall hard (heh) is delicious. I love Finn’s books, and this is another win! Read it ;-)

If you like lots of steam with plenty of dirty talk this book is definitely for you. These two men have steamy times on their brains almost 24/7, they are usually either talking about it, thinking about it, or actually engaging in steamy times.

Wyatt's character is definitely an outdoorsy person while Micah isn't in the beginning, gradually the longer Micah was at the camp the more he started to enjoy his surroundings. He became more involved with the campers, he was looking forward to different camp activities, and he was enjoying the outdoors more. Until he turned into a lobster... But he wasn't complaining about that too much because of what it led to..

I liked how the background scenery was described, we got a good description of the layout of the camp, as well as all of the activities being described really well. I wish there was more scenes of Wyatt and Micah getting to know each other, rather than their relationship being primarily focused on steamy times. I was missing those moments and that relationship building. The ending was really cute, I loved how Wyatt started planning to be with Micah after camp was over, and how he had a plan in place to do exactly that.

This is a roommates to more romance novella, featuring Micah and Wyatt, I downloaded it from the Summer Nights Prolific Works Giveaway that is running from 1-8 August, link in bio for a limited time.

Micah arrives at summer camp to be a counsellor but is not prepared for how rustic it is. He is second guessing his decision that is until Wyatt, the other male counsellor, comes running past and it’s instalust. Wyatt and Micah hit it off and it’s not long until their attraction to each other turns physical.

This book is low angst and all kinds of hilarious, spicy and sweet. I absolutely loved it and was so swoony about their HEA. And there is a promise of another camp adventure in the future, hello, sign me up!!

If you haven’t read Swim Crush by Finn Dixon, get into that too.

Things to expect in this MM romance are:
Summer camp counsellors
Roommates to more
Camp shenanigans
Outdoor ‘activities’, wink
Streaking
Spicy times
Falling fast
Swoony HEA

Micah and Wyatt take us on their journey in Cᴀᴍᴘ Jᴀᴄᴋᴡᴏᴏᴅ by Finn Dixon.

Micah and Wyatt's summer fling turned more is a good, quick, read.

Micah is used to spending his summer partying but instead, he is spending the summer as a camp counsellor in the middle of nowhere with no cell service and a silver lining with the name Wyatt.

Micah and Wyatt are opposites in every way but fit together well perfectly. I enjoyed how Micah and Wyatt were able to help each other move on from the things plaguing them and find comfort in each other as partners.

If you enjoy…

What a tasty little summer treat of a read. Sign me up for a stay at Camp Jackwood!

College-aged MCs, forced proximity in sharing a cabin, a dash of opposites attract (at the beginning anyway), some sweet moments, and a whole lot of streaky, spicy, shower-sharing summer camp shenanigans.

The MCs are likeable guys and I appreciated how both came across as genuinely thinking and acting their age(s). My only qualm is this easily could've been a full-length book, or even a prequel of sorts, if not for the epilogue. Still, it's a fun, quick, and spicy/sweet read, and hopefully the start of a camp-based series.

(P.S. The in-story shout-out given to another M/M author was delightful.)

Put two horny guys together with no cell service things are bound to happen!

Camp Jackwood is a camp for kids so of course it needs adults to run it! Wyatt is an old pro been going there for years to help out in the summer but Micha is new to the job.
Wyatt takes him under his wing, after he gets a burnt ass! From that we get jack off sessions along with some tasty mouth action! A lot of it!

I loved Emma I mean she was always gonna be cool with that name!

This was a short, sweet, fun, kinky, spicy read, with Finns humour running through it! Perfect summer read!

It's good, but it's short. And I know if it's a novella then that's the point, but it feels like there is more here that isn't included and could be made into a fuller story.

That said, there is nothing wrong with the cute story between two teenage MCs who meet at summer camp as counselors. It's well written, not overly descriptive, flows quickly, and gives enough background about the MCs that there is context throughout.

If your looking for a good beach read to finish in one sitting this is perfect.

Just what you might expect from a Finn Dixon summer camp book - fun, spicy, full of silly hijinks, and also a good dollop of sweetness.

I only wished it was longer, to give even more space to these sweet, silly boys working out their baggage.

In this, you'll find:
✨New Adult MM Contemporary Romance
✨Summer camp counsellors
✨NYC party boy
✨Experienced camp counsellor & lifeguard
✨Forced proximity
✨Opposites on paper
✨Insta-lust
✨Zip-lining shenanigans
✨Hurt from previous relationship
✨Living in different places
✨A HEA

A camp in the woods and all the right kinds of "wood". Neither Micah or Wyatt expected that this summer will be so memorable and all around amazing!
Such an entertaining, light-hearted bite of delicious summer fun, laced with the typical for this author d!rty kind of humour and a dash of k!nk. Micah and Wyatt have incredible chemistry from the flying start to the sweetest end of the story. It was a perfect afternoon read I really enjoyed.

A perfect collage age summer read.

I love a short novella length romance that still gives you everything you really want…

Funny, sweet, filthy, shenanigans all with characters you’ll think about long after the story is over.

If in 100 pages you can make me fall in love with characters and a place, be curious about side characters (I see you Kai), AND deliver spice (okay knot master Wyatt) and a satisfying HEA you’re a master in my book. And Finn Dixon is a master.

Five. Freaking. Stars.

I love Finns book so I was happy to get the chance to read this . Wyatt and Micah hit off the minute they met but neither could have guessed where their summer fling would go. As usual from Finn there’s plenty of spice that keeps you wanting to carry on reading. I just need a bonus epilogue now to see where they both are 5 years later , please Mr Dixon 😆

I adore Finn's writing and his characters, Camp Jackwood is no exception!!
Wyatt and Mitch are two hot horny camp counsellors who just happen to not only room together, work together and find they are in fact hot and horny for each other.
Sassy and likeable side characters, and an epilogue that has lived rent free in my head since I read it.

This book is short and sweet, about 114 pages. It tells the story of two boys who meet at summer camp and catch feelings. I would have liked more backstory between Micah and Wyatt but the sex scenes were 🔥🔥🔥.

I freakin love Finn Dixon’s stories - they are fresh, funny and incredibly sexy and this quick read was exactly that. Micah is in over his head and Wyatt is the veteran camp counselor teaching him the ropes. The heat is sizzling and the characters funny and so real. The authenticity shines through and I want more!

I'm a dirty girl! The moment I saw this story's title I didn't even read the blurb, I hit the download button. I thoroughly loved this tale, Micah and Wyatt are both sexy and funny, I just loved the humorous banter between them. The ending was a bit sad at first but 'hope springs eternal' as the say.

This was a fun sexy little story!!! Poor Micah, he is not really built to be a camp counselor. Finn had me laughing so hard I was crying at some of his shenanigans. Wyatt on the other hand is a natural, and it was fun to watch him teach Finn the ropes. There were plenty of steamy moments, and of course an HEA. I really enjoyed how this story came together.

As a favor for his Dad, Micah is a counselor at a rustic camp in the middle of nowhere. The only other male counselor Wyatt is hot, flirty and openly hits on him. I loved this fun, sexy novella with two guys that can't keep their hands or other body parts to themselves for the summer. It's frisky, sweet and dirty and you want so much for these boys to work out. I only wished there was more to read. I received a copy of this book and this is my honest opinion.

This was a super quick novella. It was really spicy and had some plot. I wish it had had a little more sweetness but overall it was really good. I wasn't sure how we were going to get the HEA but Finn made it possible in an epic way.

1.5 rounded. This was just physical. It had potential, but instead I spent 100 pages just reading variations of the same thing over and over without any real on-page relationship development or fleshed out characters.

Micah is a party boy who kinda gets tricked into being a camp counselor. Lucky for him, the other male counselor is Wyatt, a really hot guy. This book was both laugh out loud funny AND steamy. And it has a happy ending. I loved these two guys.
