Dom Wars: Round 1 & 2

Rate this book
Lucian Bane’s inner Dom is out of control and hungry for things he can’t name. When he signs up for Dom Wars, he meets Tara who is naive to the BDSM world. Her reckless dominance and puritan heart fascinate him. But when he discovers the pain in her past, it unleashes his true Dom within.

Lucian and Tara make it to round two in the DOM WARS. The challenges now revolve around trust, and while Tara's inhibitions in the world of BDSM are slowly being crushed by Lucian's passion, her deep rooted fears become the real obstacle he must dominate.

I’m a husband and author, and I may be a little religious about both. I like writing hot sex and encapsulating it in the delicate white silk of devotion, commitment, and psychotic obsession.

Dom Wars
4 Dom Me Stars
I highlighted a good chunk of this book but I kept being like put off by the insta love and Tara as a whole on this and couldn’t bring myself to 5 star it but let’s see what happens..

Dom Wars is about a Dom reality show where contestants try out in the first round to be on the show. Lucian (I’m not sure if this is the author telling his story or his character just happens to also be named Lucian) is a professional Dom and he is ready to earn the big prize. The girl in front of him at auditions is Tara who is reading BDSM like the bible and an audition. Lucian tells Tara to just walk away
one less sweet angel about to get burned where the devils come to play
The best lines they share are at the beginning before the completion actually starts. Tara is completely shy to sex and believes because she is strong at work she would make a good Dom. But in the story you just feel like Tara hates sex and is grossed out.
No, no, no that’s what you do. I don’t recall reading where it said you had to take fifty women and …do private things with them….. Use your BDSM vocabulary words. I spank them. I force them to orgasm over and over again. Worship their pussy. Their body. I bite them and I fuck them hard
Their relationship develops as soon as the competition starts and L words are just thrown all over the place.
my cock got hard at hearing she might actually care. I’m sure I can handle being topped by you baby
Oh Lucian be still my heart!!!
Lucian plays sub to Tara because Tara is just --- well a hot freaking mess. But when Lucian wins competitions to Dom he wins HARD
I’m going to imprison you in pleasure. Until you’re crying. Until you’re begging. Until your well kept secrets are on fire and dripping down your thighs. I’m going to crush your sexy resistance with my lips and tongue. I’m going to be right at your scorching mouth, eating up the sounds of your mind blowing orgasm until you say it-no-scream it. Lucian. Lucian Bane. That’s what I want you to scream while I milk the ecstasy from your pretty little soul
I wont ruin the wars they do for you but it’s a good read.. and Lucian..is sex on a stick

WOW

I kept seeing comments about this series in my book group and like they say "curiosity killed the cat" well it certainly did not kill this one! All the contrary it brought me to life, I actually enjoyed reading about a lifestyle I was never interested in and really enjoyed it!

Mr. Bane writes this story in such a way, that I can feel every passion that Tara feels and even the ones that Lucian does. I was not able to put the book down once I started. So much passion and so many feelings....I have never rooted for someone like I did for Tara and Lucian....Got upset at times with Tara and felt bad for Lucian. My cat kept looking at me like I was crazy.

I cannot wait to read 3 and 4 I just purchased them and I better get off here cause I am dying to read what happens in the next segment of Dom Wars....

I am rooting for Tara & Lucian!!!!

Great series Lucian!

Round 1
This is such a refreshing POV in the BDSM themed books. Lucian writes how a D/s relationship is much more on the emotional level than it is the sexual. It is about time to see the REAL side of it.

I love that the 2 lead characters are both strong. Tara and Lucian have amazing chemistry and you get to take the adventure with them as they learn each other. Can't wait to continue this adventure!

Magnificent job Lucian Bane! A JOB WELL DONE.

Round 2
Tara and Lucian's adventure continues...and man is it great! I love these two. Tara is a feisty one! The banter between them is funny. The chemistry is better than ever and I can NOT wait til the game continues.

OH! and the sex...HOLY SMOKES! NOT a disappointment!

I had no idea what to expect with this book, but there was so much hype about it. All I was being asked was did you read Dom Wars? So like I said I heard it was good, but I had no fucking idea how good!!! Well not good Fucking great!!! Totally original IMO. I wasn't sure what to make of the premise it was built on at first. I'm glad I didn't let that stop me because I was a HOT PANTING MESS just dripping with anticipation among other THINGS  as the story progressed.

At 84% I started sweating and my heart was about to beat out of My Fucking chest as I read on and on. My body was reacting so fiercely I thought I might spontaneously combust. GOT Dayum this shit is H.O.T.

Not only that, it was amazing how well the characters connected. Even though it was shorter than my usual reads, the characters and background held a lot of depth. So kudos to the author for that because normally a book of this size leaves me unfulfilled and frustrated because I didn't get enough background info or the story seems rushed. No, no and hell to the no I didn't feel that way at ALL about this book. I was so glad I was able to jump right into round two I almost peed my pants! Hands down this review is 5 Fucking BadAssDirtyTrueDominatingStars!

Dom Wars Round Two

By Lucian Bane

ROUND 2

Ding.Ding.Ding... The author doesn't miss a beat as this TKO series picks up where round 1 left off.  This round delves a little further into the pasts of each character and how the challenges they face in the Dom Wars bring out challenges within themselves and their building relationship. I loved how they bickered during  the newlyweds section of the game.  It without a doubt had me cracking up! Ol' girl Danielle worked my nerves as much as she did Tara's and I too wished an aneurysm on her.  Danielle definitely held true to her stank ass personality.  You will without a doubt be a hot soaking wet mess in this round as well. Tara steps it up a notch and Lucian shocked the shit outta me!   I think more is revealed about Lucian than Tara which I hope comes out in Round 3

Again Lucian Bane steals my panties with 5 more Fucking BadAssDirtyUltimateSubmissionStars!!!

A semi-fictious novel (?) containing two short stories that show the reader the full extent of what it means to be a dominant, both in the bedroom and in person. Mmmm - not sure it did. I understand this started life as a series of blog posts and there were one or two times where that came across with the odd gap in the plot.

Lucian Bane decides to enter a competition, Dom Wars, a million dollars is the first prize. Who is the ultimate Dom? He meets the somewhat naive Tara, who has never experienced a BDSM lifestyle.

There is no doubt these books are well written and well executed. Bane introduces humour and some brilliant one liners. "One less sweet angel about to get burned where the devils come to play" being my favourite. Bane describes himself as an Ineffable Dom - let's take a look at that word 'ineffable'. It means 'too great or extreme to be expressed or described in words'. Is Lucian Bane great or a product of an upbringing? There are some snippets of both character's past to tantalise and I want to know more, especially Lucian. Tara, to be honest, I can take or leave, she became annoying after a bit.

There were points during the book I wanted to shout "Dom the $%&* Up, Lucian!" and as for Tara, I wanted to jump in the page and spank the woman myself. And that's a sign of a good writer, I was emotionally pulled into the story and the characters. But here's my problem. Lucian Bane isn't real, he's a character. When I invest in a story I like to know a little about the author, who they are, what inspired their story? When I have a book written by the character, it all blurs for me. My mind treats everything I read, the interviews with the author, the story, as fiction. For some, and bearing in mind the content of the book, a real name isn't possible which is a shame, I am intrigued by this author.

The book has one or two technical faults, but it improved. The development of the characters became stronger, the more pages I got through. Bar one incident, I was thankful not to come across juvenile termology, especially in the sex scenes. The language was spot on, showing the writer had the confidence to write sex. There is one scene I struggled with, I wasn't sure the position the characters were in, was physically possible!

Now, Mr Bane. There is no part of my body called 'a sex' however, you are more than welcome to come help me find it, Sir!

I'm not a lover of changes in point of view within the same chapter, it can be confusing. Take the introduction of Tara, I had to go back a page to understand who was talking. But the mix of dialogue, the narrative was good.

Despite some of my critque above, I very much enjoyed the book, I will continue to read the series and thinking back to the start of this book, I do believe the writing, the characterisation and plot line will continue to strengthen. Recommended.

description

What I Loved:First off, I love Lucian and I want to be his partner in Dom Wars so badly!!!! It’s been awhile since I’ve read some really awesome sex scenes and so far this series is FILLED with them. There are so many great ones I don’t think I can pick one that is my favorite because they are all awesome. There was one in Round 2 that definitely surprised me a little and I love being surprised! I love that the Dom/sub roles are kind of blurry and not completely defined because I feel like that’s more real and down to earth. Each relationship is different without BDSM being involved, so of course a relationship that does incorporate BDSM will be different then just one person always being the Dom and one person always being the sub and not wavering from that. I like that Lucian isn’t your typical Dom because he hates to cause women pain other than spanking, but at the same time finds his own ways to dominate a situation or lead a sexual act.

Not So Much:Okay I know this is going to sound bad, and I hate myself for feeling this way but I kind of don’t like Tara. She really gets on my nerves at certain points and there are times where I just want her to shut up and for Lucian to just bitch slap her. I get people are judgy and I definitely fall into that category but I have never said once that I’m an expert of a way of life just because I read a manual about it. To me that’s very arrogant of Tara to feel like because she’s study the BDSM manual she now knows everything about it. I hate how she keeps shutting out Lucian then letting him in, then shutting him out. It’s just too much back and forth for me and gets tiring.

Also I wish there a little more background information on Lucian and Tara, I know what Lucian does for a living but I don’t know what Tara does. Plus I would’ve liked more details as far as the game they are playing, because in round 2 I have no idea who the other players are or where they are. I have no idea where Lucian and Tara are as far as city or how far away the games are from where they live.

Boxed set includes the first two rounds of Dom Wars.

Round 1
Lucian Bane is answering an ad in the newspaper for a Pay-per view show called Dom Wars. While standing on line at the auditions, he meets Tara Reese. Tara doesn’t seem all that familiar with the BDSM lifestyle as she’s standing in line with her Kindle reading up on it. Lucian, having been out of the lifestyle for a while, immediately knows that Tara is clueless and you quickly learn that he is, in fact, not your average Dom.
I liked that Tara was clueless and naturally submissive one minute and a confident, fierce Domme the next. Lucian is all heart and full of passion and I love how he bravely embraced the feelings he felt for Tara and how fiercely he felt he needed to protect her.
Round 1 was a fast and interesting read. It will not disappoint.

Round 2
In Dom Wars 2, Lucian and Tara are moving on to the national level and the games are all about trust. Tara, who does not trust easily, still has her walls up around her. She’s focused on winning the game, being in desperate need of the money to help her grandmother, and seems more concerned about points than anything else. Lucian, who has developed feelings for Tara, is frustrated by this and is bound and determined to knock down her walls and gain her trust and her love.
By now I’m rather intrigued with the author himself, realizing that he paints a much different picture of what a D/s relationship is. What I found amazed me. This author is passionate about his cause. Dom Wars isn’t just another fictional story for him, but a platform that allows him to speak from the heart on how a Dom (man) should treat a woman. This quote from the author himself says it all.
“A Good (man) Dom recognizes that a woman naturally gravitates toward Dominance, not because she needs to be controlled or abused, but because she needs uncompromising and firm assurance of his love on every level. Physically, emotionally, and mentally.
So please, gentlemen… Take her hard, pull her hair, spank her ass, and bite her shoulder in a ruthless and reckless passion. But you’re not done until you brand her soul with your confession, “You’re my fucking world, I love you and only you, with all that I am.”
Well said, Mr. Bane.

Within the last 5% of this book, I found a sentence that defines the entire book.... That being, "I can have sex with meaning."

Translation? When the D/s relationship is real and authentic, it's not about pain, degradation, and humiliation. When it's pure and true, it's about trust and intimacy (into me you see).

As a Sociologist, I've researched the BDSM culture along with it's growing influence on the publishing industry, and found that the success/acceptance of a lot of erotic/BDSM authors (published since 2011), can be attributed to the wildly popular FSOG.

A decade or two before FSOG's success, BDSM/Erotica books were considered to be somewhat deviant in Popular Culture. (I should know, because I spent 10 years in the bookselling industry.)

Even though this author and others strongly dislike Fifty Shades of Grey (Fifty Shades, #1) by E.L. James , they'd better thank E.L James for taking this genre and mainstreaming it for consumption amongst Popular Culture. Better yet, thank "Twilight."

(Yeah, I said it!)

Other than that, this book could have named "The Dom & The Switch."

It wasn't pitch perfect, nor was it without its moments of corniness and over-the-top antics. I don't know who Lucian Bane is, but I can definitely see some autobiographical elements interwoven amongst the pages.

Basically, it was good, but it needs more polishing.

Giving this one: 3 stars

I could not properly review this book via my phone so I had to wait and whip out the computer for this review.

HOW HAVE I MISSED out for so long? I was posting teaser for a book blog I review and post for and thought "what book is this?" so glad I was the person who got to post them!

Lucian left the lifestyle a while ago looking for more, he is not sure what that more is but he knew that he was not finding it there. Lucian has always cared for his past subs. He was not an ass like some of the doms living the lifestyle. A decision he now though he should had thought through more thoroughly. Lucian now in a position to need of some quick cash finds an ad for this year's Dom Wars. Lucian could enjoy a sub for a bit and who couldn't use a million dollars? What Lucian didn't expect was Tara.

Tara in desperate need of money for her Gramma see the ad for Dom Wars and fits the description. Tara convinces she fits the bill studies all things BDSM via her Kindle is her preparation, convinced this is in the bag.

Lucian while waiting in line meets this sweet, innocent, beauty ladies in line of auditions. His thoughts are why is she here and to convince her this is not the place for her. Lucian didn't expect Tara's driven stubborn personality and a purpose larger than his warnings.

Lucian....OH MY! OH MY! OH MY! Whis is not to love about him? He is calm, caring, loving, thoughtful, passionate, sexy as "ffffuck", & a Dom....PERFECTION that is what he is pure PERFECTION! Tara I tell ya one lucky woman.

Tara is a caring sweet woman who only has her Gramma and needs to do what she can to get her back home with her, where she wants to be.

The two of them together are a powerhouse of stubborn, sexy, & hilarious! I read this book with so much excitement and eagerness until I realized I was done with Round 4 and will have to wait with the rest of you for Round 5. I have no doubt it is well worth the wait but patience is not my strong point.

First, let me make clear why I gave this 4/5 stars. I loved the characters Lucian and Tara, I enjoyed the interesting plot they were thrown into, I loved the relationship between Lucian and Tara. This book is a fast, easy one day read and quite enjoyable. I also thought the concept of a Dom reality show was clever since reality shows seem so in our face today. Why not bring it to book form?

Here's what I didn't like. I don't like being confused and I'm confused as to who Lucian is. Is Lucian Bane the character or the writer or both? I don't understand why a character would write about himself. My best guess is that Lucian Bane is a pen name and he is writing as the character. How much of the character is real? I know from his Facebook page, the writer is in a relationship with a real "Tara". In the story Lucian claims to be a Dom. I didn't see any real evidence of that. I saw a beautiful, strong, troubled, and vulnerable man. He didn't seem Dom like at all. Not even in the sex scenes. Maybe this is my problem and I need to expand my definition of Dom. He absolutely was caring and protective of Tara but I thought she was more Domme, in the end, than he was Dom.

Nevertheless, I want to continue reading the series to see where Lucian and Tara's relationship leads. Will they support each other and grow in love in discovering the others past or will the discovery destroy them? Will Tara embrace her becoming a Domme as she seemed to at the end of Round 2? Is that what Lucian needs to let go of his past, to let Tara Top?

Ohhh, What did I enjoy 1)Lucian Bane- He could be MY Book Boyfriend ANY DAY!! 2)Not like any other D/s book I've Ever read 3)Our Heroine here is Tara and she's Down to earth and snarky, smart, quick on her feet- Very likeable and she enters this contest called DomWars for money to get her gma out of a nursing home and afford her proper care 4)The writing is SOOOO GOOD as it pulls you straight into this story from the beginning and has you rooting for these two characters that meet right off the street while waiting in line to enter this crazy contest, each with their own agenda -These two were so engaging and adorable and competitive right from the start, It was funny seeing it from Lucians Pov about how deep Tara was getting herself in from the start as she truly had No Experience in BDSM but yet for any reader watching this competition go down she definetly can hold her own and you can truly feel how an why their desire builds and their chemistry grows although the only draw back is Tara's insecurities, but for good reason from her past its certainly hard for her to let down her walls to let Lucian fully in..But on his behalf he's definetly trying- I Love both povs here-Their Bantor-Their strengths -And as a team and winning round 2 here of DomWars I totally feel like I'm getting ready to see a train wreck in the making, and that they'll go too far BUT yet I can't stop, nor do I want to! #AddictedtoDomWars #LovinLucian *5 Stars*

Imagine all the other stereotypes about Dominant men, as well as all the various reasons they have for being Dominant. This book is none of them.

Lucian Bane (curiously enough the author shares the name with the main character)finds himself in a financial bind. In an effort to end his problems he tries out for Top Dom. Dominant, but having chosen to leave the lifestyle in an effort to do some soul searching he's been out the circle.

Tara needs to save her grandmother and is also trying out for Top Dom hoping to win the prize money in spite of never having been in a real D/s relationship.

Lucian chooses immediately to help Tara out, attracted to her will and determination.

Both of our main characters are surprised when the criteria for judging the Top Dom isn't solely sexual (although it is a big part).

What if being the best Dom meant doing what needed to be done even if that meant being submissive. Can these two with their own need for control relinquish it for the greater cause. You'll have to read to find out.

I was sucked in to the story early on and had a difficult time putting it down. Definitely a TBR.

Round 1:
I was gifted this book for an honest review! I LOVED this book! It was definitely a very different take on BDSM! I love getting a male view of this type of story!I can't wait for round 2! If you are a fan of erotica you don't want to miss out on this one

Round 2:
Loving Lucian & Tara! The more I read this story the more I am loving these characters! I love the banter between the two of them. The games are getting more and more interesting. I know the games is going to help them learn lessons needed to have a GREAT relationship as they move forward but not sure how it will work out in the end! I can't wait to find out. I you haven't at least read Round One you should. If you are prudish then this isn't the book for you but if you have an open mind then you should try this series!

Let me start by saying I have read many books and it doesn't normally take long for me to get hooked, especially with a book in this genre. But after a week of struggling I think I made it to the end of the first book and I just couldn't read anymore. There is something about the way the story comes across that grated on me the whole way through and I don't know if it was the writing, the relationship between Lucian and Tara or the storyline itself. I won't be buying any more of the series as it's clearly not for me but I thought I would leave an HONEST review of my feelings towards the book as I have done with all others I have read. I'm sorry to say (as so many others love him) Lucian Bane is not the Dom for me!

Lucian Bane may be writing with expertise for the subject of being a dom. I don't know nor do I care. In the end this isn't one of those sex scene by sex scene barely held together with a thin thread of plot stories. This is a psychological warfare story driven by the need to submit to love. The rules of engagement are pushed and pulled all over the place as Tara and Lucien battle it out in a Big Brother meets Survivor dom war that is being streamed throughout the world. The ultimate prize could save them both but getting it might destroy their faith in love, humanity and each other. Round one was the USA round. Round two took them to the world stage. I'm going in search of round three fearing that the closer they get to winning the more they are likely to lose.

At first I thought - this sounds interesting - the author is an actual character in the book, pretty cool. Then the further I went, the more ridiculous the story became. The plot is idiotic and I just didn't connect with Lucian and Tara. How they meet and end up in the Dom War games together is unrealistic. The whole Dom Wars is stupid as well. I finished the two books and even bought 3&4 out of morbid curiosity, hoping that the story could get better. We'll see, I'm not in a hurry to get back to Lucian & Tara. One last thing and this is just a guess, but I think the author is a woman. He falls for Tara so easily, which from my other BDSM reads, would not likely ever happen. Lucian sounds all tough in chapter 1 and then turns into a sappy, annoying, lovestruck puppy. Ick!

The characters are amazing. Lucian knows there is something missing in him but can't figure out what and Tara believes she has solved all the issues from her past but hasn't and it isn't until they meet each other that both realize what they were both missing. And the trust they are learning to build in each other and the ways they are going about doing it so well put together and hot -- that it makes you want to find that in your own soulmate! And the tearing down of walls for each of them - it is an on going process but one that once they realize it's easier together it is well worth the trip.....just an awesome read!!

Oh my god I cant believe these are here as a box set, people, ladies, gents now is your chance to sit back and learn from the INEFFABLE Dom himself. Lucian Bane is about to teach you and Tara how to be a real Dom. With the series written from past experiences the whole story and characters draw you in.

Lucian has feelings for Tara only he can explain. So you need to read this series and let Lucian Bane take you on a journey. A journey which will change everything you believed about Submissive's and Dom's. And make you see what the BDSM Lifestyle is REALLY like.
ENJOY!!!!

I got caught up in the story and couldn't wait to see if Tara would admit her need to submit to Lucian. Reading on how much Lucian wants Tara to actually see that she is safe with him and how much she fights to accept that just maybe he isn't like the other men that have hurt her in the past. I can't wait to finish reading this series, to see how the relationship between Lucian and Tara develops. Will Tara finally see all he wants to do is cherish and protect her? Will Lucian finally get past all her walls and help her become free?

Lucian and Tara

I really liked this story and look forward to reading more of the Dom Wars.. I only have one issue with it, the back and forth domination. I get the struggle for them both to give it up but it just makes it kind of annoying not knowing who is in charge in a sense. I do have to say the whole concept of Dom Wars I find interesting and erotic I would watch. I also liked that the author (same name as character..hmmm) talks about the good and bad in the best world it makes it feel more real and true.

I read this box set in about a day. I really enjoyed this book. I have never read a book written by a man. I can't wait to finish this series
