The Dandelion Patch

Rate this book
The entire nation suffered when the Great Depression befell America in the 1930s. The Dandelion Patch is the story of the endless hardships faced by one eleven year old girl.

Despite the many struggles, Gloria grows up in an atmosphere of love. She and her family help one another to endure, strengthening each other despite the cloud of the Depression that covers their neighborhood, and the country.

The dandelion is a lowly weed, considered by many to be ugly. But it survives--and even glows with unusual beauty when its cluster of yellow flowers amasses in the shining sun.

A wonderful view of life during the depression through a young girls eyes. Very well written and I was left wishing the book was longer.
