While Wild Boars is mildly entertaining, and although the boars are occasionally endearingly adorable, there's really no point to this book. There is no redeeming message, nothing to make me care about the characters or the plot, and the illustrations are mediocre. Basically, the boars are starving, so they make a pudding, and then they eat it.
There are so many great kid's books out there, this one really isn't worth your time.

A delightfully read, a way out there silly story of four very hungry boars who eat everything up and want some more. Told with rhyme and whimsical illustrations, "Wild Boars Cook is a wonderful way to playfully emphasize manners at the table AND cook a massive cookie together at the end. This book was such a fun experience.

Boris, Morris, Horace, and Doris are bossy, and selfish, and stinky, and to make matters worse they are hungry too, eating everything in sight. While eating a cookbook Doris stumbles upon a recipe for a massive pudding. The boars decide to make this dish. What happens next is quite interesting. A fun read, with a recipe for a massive cookie at the end of the story

This is a fun book. It really drives home the idea that pigs are always hungry. Having owned pigs, they're not that bad, but this book really emphasizes their voraciousness. It's a cute, active, fun book.

A boar was sharpening his tusk and a wold asked why are you sharpening your tusk there are no hunters today. The boar replied I will be ready for when the hunters do come. Prepare yourself and do not wait till the end.

I really liked the first one with these boars, and use it in storytime from time to time. This one's fun, but not quite as inspired.

I think the fact that Horace rhymed with Borris, Morris, and Doris, really tripped me up for the whole book. I hate the English language.

4 silly hungry wild boars work together to make a massive pudding. Which they consume with all speed and then promptly are hungry again.

I was really enjoying this book, but I think it was let down by the unoriginal ending.

The boars are back!

While not quite as engaging as the first book, nor as useful in teaching/correcting errant behavior in one's own children, this is fun in its own right. Make that hilarious.

The ravenous wild boars start off eating enormous quantities of things. Some are not food, which to preschool-aged children is THE funniest thing ever. When Doris, dear little Doris, discovers a recipe for Massive Pudding (which appears to undergo a bit of tampering), we move into the realm of the truly absurd. Every time I turned to the page with the completed Massive Pudding I laughed out loud. Not an LOL, but a real, literal laughing out loud.

We borrowed this from the library, and I'm afraid I'm going to have to own it.

If you can get past the English word for dessert (pudding), this picture book is perfect for squirmy pre-schoolers looking for a funny read. Doris, Morris, Horace and Boris are wild boars with questionable manners and insatiable appetites. Doris finds a recipes for a "massive pudding" and the boars delight in making and consuming it. Kids will love the clear, insightful illustrations, well-paced text, and of course the bad-mannered boars. If you are worried that this book will reinforce bad manners (come on, really? Give kids some credit!), then pair it with Jane Yolen's How Do Dinosaurs Eat Their Food? as the "good" example.

Wild Boars Cook by Meg Rosoff is a delightfully disgusting story of four wild boars who are very, very hungry. Filled with fun illustrations and plenty of appropriately rude onomatopoeia, the boars go whole hog when it comes to eating. From hot dogs to pizzas to pickles to boots, Horace, Boris, Morris, and Doris stir up (with their tails) a grand finale that will have children rolling with laughter.

A great teaching tool if you're focusing on adjectives; words in a series; the elements of a nutritious diet; or word choice.

Four wild boars, Horace, Morris, Boris and Delores are very hungry. So they begin to devour anything in their way until Delores discovers a cookbook. In the cookbook there is a recipe for the largest pudding they've ever seen. They gather the ingredients, begin to mix and then to bake. The pudding is devoured quicker than it was made. So the wild boars are finally full...or are they?

Cookie recipe included.

This book was amazing! Go out now and buy it. Here we have a group of boars who make messes and cause trouble. THey suddenly decide that they are going to make a massive pudding and that it's going to be the biggest, most wonderful pudding in all the land! How will it turn out?

The illustrations and the rhyming language make this book thrilling for both readers and listeners. Highly recommended.

I shopped this out to my 1st and 2nd graders and they really enjoyed it. Especially when the Boars put a squid in their pudding. They also all requested the massive cookie recipe that is found at the end. I personally thought the characters could have had different names, because as soon as I read them I thought of Horace and Boris but Mostly Delores.
Hmmm.

Hungry Boris, Selfish Morris, Stinky Horace and Bossy Doris are all boars with one thing on their minds...food and plenty of it! After they make and devour a massive pudding, they couldn't possibly be hungry, right? Well, watch out, because their hunger is massive, too. Good thing Doris has just the right solution! Priceless illustrations.

My son loves mostly any book that I read to him, but we read this today and he thought it was "totally awesome!" His words, not mine. He has been interested in wild boars lately so a book about them was just down his alley. The book even has a recipe in the back for a massive cookie that you can make with your little one.

Horace, Morris, Boris and Doris are wild boars who are very very hungry. They decide to make an extra special pudding but will they ever be full?! A recipe is included (not for the pudding but for a giant sized cookie). Funny story about food perfect for storytime.

Boris, Morris, Horace and Doris are Wild Boars. They behave just like you might expect; often rude, often crude and ALWAYS hungry! In this installment, the boars learn to cook the most massive pudding ever. Needless to say, the eating of this massive pudding is not a delicate event!

This is a fun bedtime story for anyone but I think that boys will really appreciate it. Boars in a kitchen trying to cook it is messy, silly and fun. Good read when you need to hear a good giggle from a little kid. Ages 3+

The wild boars are rude, messy and greedy--and delightfully so in both pictures and story! They're just naughty and gross enough to please preschoolers and parents without scaring them.

Great lapsit, a fine preschool storytime book.

Boris, Morris, Horace, and Doris are back and cooking up a storm this time. This is s goofy story that primary students enjoy because of the outrageous behavior of the boar foursome. Both students and I enjoyed this book as a read aloud simply for the silliness. Does the Massive Cookie recipe work?

'Just can't get into this book like everyone else seems to. 'Can't keep their names straight, not what each one does. 'Seems like it should be a good read aloud, but I just doze off as I read it. Will try again.

A cute story about four sibling boars named Boris, Morris, Horace and Doris. They're constantly hungry and eat a lot. The book describes their experiences making pudding to curb their appetite and on their way to the next adventure as they prepare for what to do next.
