Had this on my kindle for a long time. I wished I read it sooner.
Not heavy on the Christian thing, kisses only, but not squeaky clean.
Nice cozy read. The romance between Sally and Roady develops slowly as Sally works to overcome her trauma. There is some push and pull, some miscommunications, but all works out in the end.

It is a quite nice novel but I decided to stop because the story did not move fast enough. I had to read 13 chapters (yes, 13!!!) to get to the part that was advertised in the first two lines of the blurb, where Roadie finds Sally in a cabin. Part of it is the fact that this is not a stand-alone romance. Half of the chapters are dedicated to Amy making a meal for her sister-in-laws and their families. And I don't know who Amy is because I did not read the other books.

It is a quite nice novel but I decided to stop because the story did not move fast enough. I have to admit, this review started off more about my preference in story style than in the author's writing, or the simple story of the book. My preference is a more Christian-based book.
I had read another Caroline Fyffe book years before and liked it. It was more of a Christian/religious romantic historical fiction book, so I assumed this one might be the same. Don't get me wrong, this one was sweet. There was some language, albeit not nasty. Perhaps I expected too much. Perhaps if I had read it as a non-Christian book I would feel differently.
Okay, let me do that.
As a non-Christian book, this was pretty tame, meaning aside from a few words I wouldn't use, but that the world would consider nothing, it was a sweet story and had a decent moral. So I will go with 4 stars rather than my original 3.

For me this story was like welcoming a family home you haven’t seen in awhile, if you have read/listen to the other books in this series or the mail order bride series you have already met most of these characters as the author gives a compelling story of each character in past books. This is another audio you will have trouble putting down as you visit with old friends and met new ones. The author tells a story that you will want to reach in grab Sally out of the book and hold her close. Even today many women have to deal with this issue which is never an easy issue to face. The author gives you a heartbreaking story that will touch your heart and she does it in a style that will make you want to reach out and slap a few characters and hug others.
After something happens to Sally that she had no control over she is not sure where to go or who to turn to she runs to her sister in Montana not being of a clear mind she doesn’t plan things to well. Before she even hits town trouble starts she finds herself trying to find help for those on the stagecoach. Getting lost and finding a cabin to hold up in why a Montana snow storm blows outside. When she awakes she finds herself not alone but with a man. She is scared and afraid she does stand up and is strong. Once they get it worked out that he knows her sister she finds that her well laid plans will not work since she gave to much information. She has to rethink as she tries her best to put her family feeling first along with trying to keep their and her reputation in tacked. She finally decides to tell it like it is and ask for Roady help hoping he will not feel less of her. I really liked Sally she is just such a sweet lady who put herself in a place that with her innocents she never thought she would be. She is very caring and giving women that just really needs a hero and a place to call home to build a new life without hurting her family or her past life. Can her secret be safe with Roady, is she doing the right thing or will it come back to haunt her. She is at a lost not knowing if any man will love her or even if she really wants a man but she has little choice to right this wrong done to her.
Roady I have adored for many books he is just a wonderful loving cowboy who thinks he isn’t good enough. Not knowing who his mother was and his father was just not a man you would want to call paw. He got away from all that and has turned into a wonderful man that any women would be proud to call hers. I was so glad to see him get his own story which I have to say was a very touching one. When Sally asked for his help he had to take a step back, than he took a step forward and gave Sally the hero she so needed. Does this mean life was easy for them NO they have some trying times and misunderstandings. Can he be the man Sally needs and can he make her love him knowing she loved someone else before him. He is at the end of his rope when he realizes he loves and adores her if things go south he has so much to lose it isn’t only his heart but the family they will make.
Corey M. Snow did a wonderful outstanding job with this audio. I have listened to him before and loved his voice. The different voices were outstanding, I loved the accents he gave to a few. It was very easy to tell who was talking by the different tones and voice changes he gives us along with the different accents he gives a few. The variations in gender was easy to tell and flowed wonderful you had no trouble knowing it was male or female. I found the voices to be very appropriate, the tones matched what he was reading. He put the chuckles in where they needed to be which added so much to the read. His tones were raised or lowered just right has he gives a wonderful voice to the story. There was a time or two where he might have need to take a breath but it is so slight that you almost miss it. I found the plot to flow easy and without interruption as Mr. Snow puts the correct voice to the correct character which gave life to this listen. I found the recording to be to be free of background noises it was smooth, if there was any editing done you cannot tell it.
As far as the audio it’s self I found it hard to put down in fact I had been putting off doing a few things which got done this week. On a normal week it would take me all week to listen to an audio but when I get one of Ms. Fyffe and Mr. Snow audio’s I find that I listen to it within a few days. This one was no different I had it listened to in 3 days just doing things around the home that needed to be done and driving to and from work. I found once I got to work I listened the extra 30 minutes I have as I get my day setup unlocking doors, bring up computer etc.
The author gives you a wonderful story with some serious issues even more so back then than now which she does in style. This is a very touching story that sucks you in as the narrator takes over bring the story alive to your ears. There are so many wonderful characters I always have trouble picking my favorite, each have such wonderful qualities so wonderful, caring and giving that you wish you were part of this big loving family. The author gives you a story inside the story which adds so much to the book. It was a pleasure to watch Roady and Sally fall in love when things could have went so wrong. The McCutcheon is a family of honor who take care of their own along with any strays that might come along. The author gives you a story that pulls you in and you do not want it to end. When I see this authors name I know this is an audio I will love and it is a must have for me. I own almost all of her audios. If you are looking for a well told western romance look no farther you have found it. You will not go wrong with any of this authors books whether in audio, ebook, or paperback she gives a wonderfully well written, heart touching story you will come to love as she brings the west and her wonderful characters to life.

This is an enjoyable read. I liked the characters a great deal and it has an interesting plot. I listened to the audio book and the narrator did an excellent job.

I was gifted Montana Snowfall (McCutcheon Family Series Book 7) by Caroline Fyffe in exchange for a honest and unbiased review. I love this book and the entire series. Ms Fyffe has a way of using her words to keep me glued to my seat. I love hearing about the Old West Days and every book in this series just gets better than the last! I can't wait for the next book to come along! Listening to this audio book makes it so much easier for me to picture everything the narrators says. The landscaping, the get togethers, the criminals! I always the the Old West is a great place to visit, but I wouldn't want to live there! If you haven't tried this series out yet, try them in audio books. The narrators tend to breathe life into the stories, thus giving them a heartbeat. It is like having you back turned to a movie.
The author, Caroline Fyffe did a fantastic job on this book as always. The dangers in these books are great too, very exciting! The narrator Corey M Snow did a wonderful job delivering this book to us with so many different voices and accents. He speaks very clearly and is easy on the ears. What a great series this is!

April 9, 2016As the 7th book in the McCutcheon Family Series, Caroline Fyffe continues on a roll in delivering outstanding, well written clean romance stories. However, the reader is cautioned to start at the beginning of the series and read the books in order. There is simply too much overlap with major characters from book to book to enable stand-alone books. In Montana Snowfall the character of Roady Guthrie who has been a major supporting player in previous novels comes into his own. We also know Sally Stanford as a supporting player previously. As I began reading, what I had read in the published synopsis kept haunting me. How in the world could Ms. Fyffe get her two protagonists together in Roady’s hunting cabin in a snow storm. Sally was taking the train from St. Louis to Waterloo and a stage on to Y Knot where she was to surprise her sister and brother. Well, I will not add spoilers here. You will just have to read it to find out. But, Ms. Fyffe is so competent in her craft that the story is totally believable and you just keep turning the pages to find out what happens next. Read it! You’ll love it! By the way, my 4 star rating is comparable to 5 stars on many other reviewers.

This was a good book, but, it is most definitely NOT a stand-alone novel. It's part of a continued series, and it reads like one. There is a lot of characters in this book, and bits of story here and there about them. Yes, there is the story about the 2 main characters, but about 1/3 to 1/2 of the book is about these other characters. It has a definite continued series feel to it. There are stories started but not finished in this book, and you're left with the feeling that they were continued from a previous book, and will be continued in a following book.
You should not read these as stand-alone novels, even though they are billed that way. They are really not. It's a continued series. From this one book I read, it seems to be a well written series; but you should start with book 1 and read through the whole series, rather than pick up one book from the middle and read it. I enjoyed it all right, but it would have been much better had I read the whole series.

ENCHANTING
I love how the characters from the books in the series are incorporated! Very vivid descriptions,emotionally charged and tender. Small details draw you in the thin small arms of hickory the piece of leather holding his long hair. Sally playing checkers with Roady in the hunting cabin. flood describing love at first sight,when opening his front door in a blizzard finding Claire. And Luke well that's a story in its self,his great love for his family. The close knit community of family and friends. The love,kindness and patience of a good man! The hidden pain of a woman. Truly a great book!! Roady .and Sally,heart of the mountains newest couple.. GREAT DETAILS!!! AWESOME BOOK!!!A MUST READ FOR ALL ROMANCE LOVERS.

Love Those McCutcheons!
I just .can't get enough of the McCutcheon family and their friends in Y Knot. Each story touches my heart. Sally's story has a sad beginning. Often I wanted to shake her and tell her to tell Roady the whole story. Then I had to step back and realize I might have been just as naive as she is. It is different looking at her situation from the reader's point of view. Roady is the perfect hero. I really liked getting to know Hickory as he joined the story too. A young orphan hungry for love and trust, Hickory will surely turn into a hero in a future book. I can't wait!

Another strong read in this entertaining series features Roady Guthrie, the foreman of the McCutcheon ranch. The last thing he expects to find in his hunting cabin is Sally, the sister of one of the mail-order brides in a previous book in the series. Stranded in a snowstorm, the two become friends, something Sally needs desperately.
I like that this series is branching out to other members of the community other than the McCutcheons, and Roady is a good pick for the hero. Sally is young and desperate, but the two of them make a good pair.

I was a little overwhelmed by all the characters and their relationships having not read any of the previous books in the series. It is almost a stand alone, but it really is better to have assembled the pedigree chart from the other books before reading it. With that said, it was a easy read where almost everyone is accepting, honorable and responsible and the happy ending ties up the book nice and simple.

Historical at its best!
We continue with the Adventures of the little town Y knot, and it's wonderful residents. Rodey a simple cowboy and Sally a big city girl get married under difficult circumstances. He's afraid he's not good enough and she thinks he deserves better than her. Together they takes on a beautiful journey of strength and love.

This story is about Sally, Heather and Morgan's sister who comes to visit and live in Ynot Montana.
On the way there is a snowstorm and there stage coach gets spooked by a cougar and falls. The driver dies and others have minor injuries. So Sally is selected to go for help, although she gets lost. She ends up in a cabin in the mountains. Roady is a ranch hand who had been hunting a bear, but went to the cabin to stay. He found Sally helped her to get dry, food...He assured her that the people would be recused. Anyway, when they leave he takes her to the ranch where he works. Her family comes to get her.
Sally is pregnant, no one knows, but she was raped by her boss. So that's why she left St. Louis. So she was going to tell people that she had gotten married and her husband died, but when she met Roady and his ranch family she left they thought she was single..
When she saw Roady again, she wanted to talk to him and so she said she was in trouble, in the family way and if he would marry her. So he wanted to be sure you know because if they did it would be forever. She promised to be a good wife.
So they got married..people assumed it was because of the cabin, that he had taken advantage of her, but he did squelch that idea. Not sure who believed it.
After they were married they live with his employers, Flood and Claire the McCutcheons. They also gave them some land to purchase for there home. In the meantime, Sally and Roady were having difficulty because she could not get past her experience and was afraid to allow Roady to do anything but hold and light kiss.
He felt that she was in love with the baby's father not knowing what happened. so he wrote her a letter before going on the bear hunt, because there was a sighting and the bear had killed a rancher.
Sally read the letter and felt she needed to let Roady know how she felt, so she left a message with Shad actually. When he returned, she would always prepare a bath and food him but she wanted to tell him the truth. So when she did of course that was their breakthrough and Roady silently vowed that he would get punishment one day.
They moved into their cabin and were ready to tell everyone about the baby. They would deal with the issues of an early arrival (but not really) when the time came.
On the way there is a snowstorm and there stage coach gets spooked by a cougar and falls. The driver dies and others have minor injuries. So Sally is selected to go for help, although she gets lost. She ends up in a cabin in the mountains. Roady is a ranch hand who had been hunting a bear, but went to the cabin to stay. He found Sally helped her to get dry, food...He assured her that the people would be recused. Anyway, when they leave he takes her to the ranch where he works. Her family comes to get her.
Sally is pregnant, no one knows, but she was raped by her boss. So that's why she left St. Louis. So she was going to tell people that she had gotten married and her husband died, but when she met Roady and his ranch family she left they thought she was single..
When she saw Roady again, she wanted to talk to him and so she said she was in trouble, in the family way and if he would marry her. So he wanted to be sure you know because if they did it would be forever. She promised to be a good wife.
So they got married..people assumed it was because of the cabin, that he had taken advantage of her, but he did squelch that idea. Not sure who believed it.
After they were married they live with his employers, Flood and Claire the McCutcheons. They also gave them some land to purchase for there home. In the meantime, Sally and Roady were having difficulty because she could not get past her experience and was afraid to allow Roady to do anything but hold and light kiss.
He felt that she was in love with the baby's father not knowing what happened. so he wrote her a letter before going on the bear hunt, because there was a sighting and the bear had killed a rancher.
Sally read the letter and felt she needed to let Roady know how she felt, so she left a message with Shad actually. When he returned, she would always prepare a bath and food him but she wanted to tell him the truth. So when she did of course that was their breakthrough and Roady silently vowed that he would get punishment one day.
They moved into their cabin and were ready to tell everyone about the baby. They would deal with the issues of an early arrival (but not really) when the time came.

She was the only one fit to ride, though, but can she even find the town on a good day, let alone in a snowstorm?
Roady realizes he'll have to seek shelter in a hunting cabin in the mountains, but when he gets there, he realizes he's not alone. The two spend several days at the cabin before they can get out and back to town. By then, the other stage passengers have made it back, and Heather and her brother know their sister was also a passenger, so they're sick with worry and search parties are out looking for her, when Roady comes into the ranch yard with her on his horse.
Roady is really Sally's hero, but is that enough for romance? Sally has her own secret, though, that not even anyone in her family knows. Her life, so promising in St. Louis not that long ago, has fallen apart, and she feels like there's no one she can trust with the truth.
There's another side story here about Hickory, a young orphan boy Luke meets up with in Waterloo. Hickory reminds him of Colton when he first met Faith, and Luke feels drawn to the boy. He knows he can't save every orphan or homeless person he meets, but Hickory does something to him that compels him to want to help. Has he just brought even more trouble to his ranch and hometown?
I positively love these books, but all good things must come to an end, and I hate that I'm so close to the end of the series now. These are excellent books, making you feel like you're coming back to your favorite vacation spot and visiting with old friends. I love writers who can do that.

I really really liked this book. It could’ve easily been a 5 star rating if not for some issues of mine. I simply love the character of Roady. Sally could’ve been a very good character had she been expanded and explored more. I felt that Roady and Sally deserved a book throughly their own. I felt the same about Brandon & Charity also. Was their even a reason to have Cade Morrow in the book? Except to have a reason towards the end. I enjoyed the character of Hickory too, but also wondered why spend all the time on him. Was he really a necessary character? I just felt a lot of these extra characters were thrown in to make the book longer and take away from the couple’s who book it was, Sally & Roady. Had they been more of the focus, I would’ve enjoyed it more rather than my eyes glazing over on things that didn’t really add to the story line of this book. It just kind of seemed disjointed. While I do enjoy supporting characters, I feel as this series goes on, the books get short and more disjointed. I also think the $4.99 price is to high. I feel more of a $2.99 would be more prudent or even $3.99…. I’m starting to feel that it’s not a very good value for the content and quality. Having said that all, I still enjoyed the story. I will probably read it again. I do feel that characters are just thrown in so they can be a main character in another book. Such as this new shad character. Had I not over the past 10-12 yrs picked up many in this series at sale prices, I probably wouldn’t have spent the $4.99 for this book or the next. I really enjoy this series and this author. She has shown me she can write very well. But the last 3 books in this series I have seen the issues become a pattern. I recommend this book as I feel she is a good writer, just beware of issues I have stated. This is also a sweet & clean series. I don’t mind clean and sweet, I also don’t mind a little bit more too. I also recommend you read the series in order, including the mail order bride books that are included in this series to get the best out of this book.

Although I've jumped into this series at the seventh book, the author gives enough hints to make the story work as a stand-alone.
Sally Stanford of St. Louis, has a problem. She's expecting a baby due to the rape by her employer, Mr. Greenstein. They both worked at the local newspaper and he trapped her in an upper room. She hasn't told anyone; she's just going to her sister in the Montana Territory. Everyone thinks she's going for an agreed-to trip to her sister, Heather. However, her sister doesn't have a clue.
Roadie Gutherie, the longtime foreman of the Heart of the Mountains Ranch in Y Knot, has gone on a bear hunt up in the mountains. When he gets to his cabin, due to a sudden blizzard, he finds Sally, asleep in a bundle.
Sally can't tell her family the problem and so she confides in Roadie, who does the honorable thing. This story didn't really hold any surprises, but it was a pleasant way to while away a few hours.

“Montana Snowfall” by Caroline Fyffe was a very good read. In her novel, Ms. Fyffe portrays a young St. Louis girl from a big family who is desperate to leave. She concocts a story about visiting her sister and husband in Y Knot, Montana, even though she has not let them know that she is coming. Her reason for going away is to spare her family the shame she feels for the predicament she is in. Personally, I think her refusal to let her family help her is misguided. However, it does make for a good storyline.
Sally travels to Montana by train and stage and at one point during the journey, the stage overturns and she rides for help on one of the mules. She is caught in a blinding snowstorm and just manages to find a hunter’s cabin where she takes shelter. Also caught in the storm is Roadie Guthrie, a ranch hand for the McCutcheon family who is more like a son to the patriarch and his wife. All of their children and families live in or near the main ranch house and are protected by each other. Roadie finds the hunter’s cabin and he and Sally are forced to remain together for three days waiting out the storm. Roadie and Sally form a friendship, and Sally’s predicament causes Roadie to come to her rescue again.
I thought this story was well-thought out and I loved the characters. Roadie was a kind and gentle person and Sally, although misguided, was a lovely girl caught up in circumstances beyond her control. I think you’ll like this book.

It's been a long time since I read such an enjoyable romance novel. The plot kept me wondering how the characters would deal with each of the problems presented to them. The characters were believable and fleshed-out well. All in all, I'd have to say this was a real page-turner for me. My favorite character was Roady. But getting to know both the protagonists was a joy. This is a book I'd pull out and read many times over. I just really enjoy stories where good vs evil and good eventually wins, even if it has to risk and/or sacrifice something precious. If you also enjoy those kinds of tales, then I'd recommend you try this one.

Then there is Roady, who blames hisself for a death, that was by a bear, because he checked to late. Sally runs to her sisters home in Ynot and is caught in a snowstorm. Roady who is searching for the bear, finds Sally in a cabin freezing and hungry. Roady and Sally make the track back to the ranch after a few days in the cabin. A few days later Sally tells Roady she is going to have a baby and asks him to marry her in a way. Does Roady love her, does Sally love him so much going on in this sweet read.

A wonderful clean Romance
I enjoyed this book very much! Has a good plot, & a subplot..Hickory's situation and Amy's brother. I'm not sure if there's a cliffhanger..feels like there is when theft of items comes to light. I had trouble with the supporting characters, as many had nothing to do with the story..they are just family members & ranch hands, who have very small parts, never to be mentioned again.. Without reading previous books, I felt overwhelmed, trying to figure out whose sister & whose brother each character was. But I did enjoy Sally and Roadie very much & would like to read more.

I didn't realize this is part of a series. It took a long time for me to figure out how one set of characters intertwined with other characters. Reading them in order would probably have taken care of that problem.
Sweet and predictable but a pleasant enough read. As is typical, the lack of communication is the underlying difficulty in the marriage relationship.
Some references to the fact that Sally is in trouble due to rape (which occurred before the book begins). Some references to the marriage bed and inferences/assumptions of premarital sex that didn't happen.

Glad Roady got his turn
Roady Guthrie has been a favourite character of mine in the books, all be it a secondary one.
Sally Stanford, sister to Heather (s previous character) is on her way to Y Knot when the stage coach she is travelling in is involved in an accident . As the driver is dead and the guard injured, she is the only one fit enough to seek help, but she loses her way.
Roady discovers Sally in a remote cabin during a snowstorm and they are snowed in for three days. Back in Y Knot she confides in him, a secret nobody should know.

This is the second book I’ve read by this author and I liked this story much better than the last one. The story is set in the late 1800’s.
Sally is in trouble and travels out west in hopes that her sister can help. She meets Roady when they are both are stranded together in a hunting cabin by a snowstorm. Not only does Roady save her life but he treats her with kindness. As a result, she feels that she can share her secret.
There are some misunderstandings along the way but overall it’s a sweet story. Skimmed some parts but it was a quick easy read. 3.5 Stars.

Roady McCutcheon is a hardworking ranch hand. He lives by ranch hand rules with several other ranch hands. Roady hasn't had the best upbringing and life was difficult growing up. Some incidents in his life throw him in the path of Sally Standford who is running from her own problems.Early snowfall comes and hits the area hard. This early storm puts both Sally and Roady on the same path to meet up. This is a beautifully written romance novel.

Montana Snowfall is the sixth book I've read in the McCutcheon series by Caroline Fyffe. They are entertaining, and I'm defintely hooked on the series. Although I've enjoyed all the books, I think this is the one I've enjoyed the most. Caroline Fyffe tells beautiful and fascinating stories about the cowboys of Montana in the 1870's and the women who love them. I've already ordered number 7.

An Eventful Continuation of the Series!
This plot was entirely different from previous books. This author comes up with different trials and obstacles to overcome for each book. Additionally, she doesn't focus on one main couple to the exclusion of everything and everyone else (why create a series if you ignore previous and future characters?) I thoroughly enjoyed this book and hope she writes many more!
