I need champagne an strawberries with Jacob

This was great I just luv luv luv Grace she is so funny an gorgeous an it's great to see a woman keep a man on his toes an she did with Jacob/Bax these to hit it off straight away there r sparks flyin al over the place Jacob is British an sexy as hell an she meets him at the ski resort her friends booked her in an she thought he was her ski instructor but let's just Grace isn't the most graceful of woman tends to spend most of her life on her ass an bump in into doors or anything else so this ski trip could b a bit of a disaster but Jacob won't let that happen he wants to show her a great time an even with Grace on her ass she just brushes it off an this is what makes Jacob start to like her she isn't like other woman he as meet an this is just what he needs

These two were great together they were attracted to each not just sexual but had a few things in common with here families they did judge or pity each other they just connected an sexual they were just the same god they both didn't care they just wanted each other the things that champagne an strawberries can do to these to is hot they can't keep there hand of each other an I think I d b the same if I was Grace Jacob is super sexy an the banter between them is just great an it's what made this book

4 - "If you can't bang a billionaire, bang a hot ski instructor." Stars!

Or in Grace's case both!

Loved this novella, love this author, adore the series. Be warned though this is a re-relase, Saving Grace was originally published in the Baby, it's Cold Outside anthology before Christmas 2014, so make sure to check you haven't already read this stellar novella before you get all one-click happy! Mind you this is my second read of it, and it was just as good as I remembered it.

"You're far too tempting, Jacob Baxter."

And he is British to boot, what more could a girl ask for!

In this Love Under the Big Sky novella, we get a short little story of Grace (Cara’s friend) and Jacob, the rich resort owner.

Grace is anything but graceful, but her friends are certain they can get her up on skis in time for the bachelorette party in Aspen. So the send her off to a local resort to get a few lessons and to get pampered for the weekend.

Grace never expected to actually sleep with her Ski Instructor, but after laying eyes on the hotness in the North Face jacket and hearing his British accent, she was a goner.

Jacob isn’t a stranger to pretty girls, but there is something about Grace and the way she makes him feel. Something that makes him want to hide his wealth for a few moments with a woman that he finds utterly captivating. But his secret isn’t kept for long and it doesn’t take much convincing to get Grace to agree to spend more time on and off the slopes.

I enjoyed this addition to the series so much! Although a short read, I fell in love with Jacob and Grace. I loved the way these two interacted with one another and I think next to Cara, Grace is easily one of my favorite characters from the series.

For fans of the series, this is a must read. And although this includes the ladies that have been featured in the other books in the series, it can be read without ruining the full experience of the other books.

3.5 Sweet and Snowy Stars

Grace Douglas and and all her sassiness needs to learn how to ski in time for her friend's Aspen bound bachelorette party. What better way than spending a weekend at a nearby resort and taking some professional lessons? Jacob Bexter is the hot billionaire owner of the resort and the man suffering from a case of mistaken identity after an adorable meeting with Grace. Let the fun begin!

Saving Grace is a short but sweet novella offered as part of Kristen Proby's Love Under the Big Sky series. And when I say short, I mean SHORT. I'm not going to get into things like character development or successful resolution of issues because honestly, there just wasn't time for those things to enter the picture. Boy meets girl, girl shows boy her whimsical and sassy side by busting out her fake accents, boy and girl fall hard for each other. This is a case of Instalove at its finest but it still took the majority of the book to happen.

I have no complaints about the length. Sometimes you just need a quickie. I just don't know how to rate it exactly, so I'm going with the level of my enjoyment alone. Had it not been for the over usage of the word "darling" this would've been a solid 4 star.

:: 5 Lovely Stars ::

I received an ARC of this novella by the publishers at Simon Schuster. Thank you!

>> This book is sweet and sexy all mixed together! Readers won’t be able to get enough of Bax and Gracie! <<

Overall, this was a very cute little romance book. Although short, I found myself able to connect with the characters. I also enjoyed the plot line >> girl goes to a ski resort for a much needed mini-vacation only to be charmed by the billionaire owner. Grace (the main character) is a hilarious little spitfire. She is a girl who is not afraid to go after what she wants. She is also the clumsiest character I have come in contact and found myself laughing out loud throughout the book. Bax (aka Jacob) is the sexy billionaire who owns the ski resort. Thankfully, he is not the rich, arrogant, billionaire that we see in many of these romance books. He is not one to use girls and throw them away like trash. I find this to be a breath of fresh air. He is just a sweet and charming man and readers will fall for him quickly!

Now that I have (finally) read a Kristen Proby book I will most likely be picking up more of her books in the future. They are a great mixture or contemporary romance with some sizzling scenes.

Ok this was short read that is on my TBR book list challenge and I am glad it was short because I didn't like it at all.

This is about Grace who is a klutz having ski lessons paid for by her friends due to a bachelorette party coming up for the group of friends in Aspen. She mistakes the British hero Jacob (aka Bax aka Baxter) hotel owner for her ski instructor. They spend some time and it leads to love.

Simple right?? Sound sweet right?? So why didn't it work for me.

RANT TIME!!!!! (something I don't do often at all but this one just pissed me off enough)

My first and main issue is the heroine. She came across very judgmental to me when she assumed the hero was the ski instructor and then speculated on him being a ski instructor at his age and how much money it made. I didn't like how he told her his name was Bax and she was like did your parents not like you then he says it is short for Baxter his last name so she then tells him they aren't kids and what is his first which he tell her and she says she will call him Jacob. Hello that is very insulting to me especially being a teacher who I would think get many different types of names. It is also a issue to me because if someone tells you their name then that is obviously what they want to go by and how dare you say otherwise. HELLO HUGE PET PEEVE for me big time and I hate that in books.

I also hated her so called sense of humor because I found it insulting. The hero is a British man from London and she kept insulting him to me by doing a Scottish and Irish accent and even going to Australian culture for him too. This is supposed to be a teacher and would think she would know better and I didn't find it funny at all. I found it insulting and not cute.

The hero was ok but honestly I didn't really feel anything for him. It was like he was just there and I didn't understand what attracted him to the heroine so much.

She also was very insulting in how she broke things off with what she said in her so called note. Oh that pissed me off.

This was a short book that hit all the wrong notes in every way for me and make me skeptical to read any other books by this author. I see some friends liked it but it sucked big time for me. Could some not have these issues with this book yes but for me it start wrong ended bad and I hated it.

They set her up with a night at a local resort with a couple of ski lessons and a message for after. Once she arrives, she meets her ski instructor, sexy BRITISH Jacob Baxter. But Jacob is more than just a ski instructor, he is the billionaire who recently bought the recort.

Saving Grace is utterly adorable and perfect to get you in the spirit of the season.

The time frame of this story is between Seducing Lauren and Falling for Jillian in which we have briefly encountered Grace and Jacob in all their love-fest glory.

Both Grace and Jacob have been shaped by events in their childhood. Although Jacob's trauma is tragic it was Grace I identified the most with. Although she is generally a ray of sunshine and happiness, her insecurities run deep. Loving, caring and giving, Grace is completely selfless putting others first at all times, making her an excellent teacher. She has never been looked after or pampered in her life, she has seriously lacked nurturing and cut ties from her toxic parents, making your heart squeeze for the girl she had to be in order to thrive. Thrive she most definitely has :) Creating a life for herself surrounded by wonderful friends and a rewarding career, the only thing she has lacked is passion and romance.

Gifted a weekend at the local ski resort, fate crosses Grace and Jacob's path where sparks literally fly. Under no assumptions of forever, Grace and Jacob explode with the chemistry between them for the duration of Grace's weekend stay.
While it is easy to dismiss their mounting feelings due to the fast paced nature of their time together there really is no denying their enviable connection. The stuff romantic fairy-tales are made of (the adult kind anyway) :)

As with any novella, Saving Grace is a quick read; you will devour Grace and Jacob's story and if you are anything like me, immediately set about re-reading the other books in the series. Saving Grace is a beautiful addition to the Under the Big Sky series.

Saving Grace is an adult contemporary romance short-story written by Kristen Proby. I listened to the audio version as part of the romance anthology titled Baby, It's Cold Outside. It is also #2.5 in Ms. Proby's Love Under the Big Sky series. This was my first exposure to the series.

For a short-story, Saving Grace had an impressive setup to include alternating perspectives and even an epilogue. The insta-lust/love had me on the verge of an eyeroll but I couldn't help but think the female lead was completely adorable. I love enthusiastically klutzy heroines ♥. She made the read worth it...the hero grew on me too especially given the mistaken identity. That was a fun addition.

aving Grace is the perfect example as to why I love Kristen Proby’s stories. This book gave me fun characters that I couldn’t help but fall in love with and was light on the drama. Saving Grace is sweet, sexy and a whole lot of fun. Yes, this book is a novella, but I’m telling you, this book gives you everything you are looking for.

As a fan of the Love Under The Big Sky series, I couldn’t have been more happier to spend a little more time with the series and characters that I loved. Saving Grace is Jacob and Grace’s story. And let me tell you, their story is the perfect winter romance. Their story was well-written and fast paced. And even though it was fast paced, it worked perfectly. I thought the story-line was a lot of fun and was entertaining. I couldn’t wait to see how things would play out.

Saving Grace is a wonderful addition to the Love Under The Big Sky series. Fans of this series, I definitely recommend checking this one out. You will not be disappointed!

Hi, I'm Susan and I'm a book hoarder. I buy several books a week. Sometimes I read them immediately, sometimes they sit in the shelf for a while. Some times I end up buying an entire series before reading them. I love ALL my books and have the best of intentions in reading them.

With that being said, I have the whole series this novella comes from. And after looking through my books, I own several others by Kristen Proby, but I've never read any of them. I'm not sure what I was waiting for because this was fantastic! It was light and funny and sexy (Jacob Baxter is one extremely sexy man when he gets talking). I loved Grace's sense of humor and the fact that she was a bit clumsy made her all the more endearing. Kristen Proby has a new fan!

When Grace's friends send her on an overnight trip to get ski lessons, Grace is less than enthused. She's a known klutz and would much rather spend her day on the beach than risking life and limb on the ski slopes. One look at her hunky instructor changes her attitude entirely.

Jacob Baxter (Bax) is the billionaire owner of the ski Lodge where Grace is staying. He wasn't planning to give any ski lessons the day she showed up, but one look at her and he was more than happy to play the role. He is almost immediately smitten by her quirky, dorky personality and Grace is powerless against Bax's gentlemanly manners and irresistible English accent. What starts as a chore quickly becomes the most fun either of them has had in a long, long time.

This was a super short, super sweet story. Grace is truly a dork, and her bumbling goofy sense of humor had me chuckling out loud more than once. Bax is charming and authoritative without being overbearing. Their chemistry is immediate and hot. Like, hot hot. This story was like a perfect rich, decadent, ooey gooey brownie bite. Short, sweet, and just a little sinful. ~ Shelly, 4 stars

~~~
If Jacob Berkley is what all ski instructors are like, I'm headed to the mountains. Don't call, don't message, and definitely don't worry about me. Pretty sure I'll be just fine...
Grace Douglas does NOT live up to her name. She's more likely to fall on her face, or end up incapacitated, than successfully learn to ski. And yet, she's going to try.
Enter Jacob Berkley. He's not just an instructor, he's also the sexily accented resort owner, and the man that has Grace heating up even in the cold, cold snow...
This one from Kristen Proby is an adorable little novella that won me over. I wasn't sure at first—Jacob's overuse of 'darling' was a touch grating to begin with—but I soon found myself immersed in Saving Grace.
The banter was so much fun—and gave me a little throwback thrill as a fan of Ms. Proby's With Me In Seattle series. The characters were sexy and connected well *ahem* if you know what I mean. And the meet-cute confusion was a sweet set-up for this couple.
Saving Grace was ultra-fast and very lightweight. Exactly the kind of book you'd want to read by the fire in a snow lodge. After your lesson with Mr. Berkley, of course. ~ Beth, 4 stars
This was okay for me... I think I wasn't completely sold on Grace, and with novellas it's always harder to connect. I think given more time I may have ended up liking her a bit more, but the focus on her clumsiness and babbling kind of threw me off a bit.
This is less about the character and relationship development (It is a novella afterall) and more about instant connection.
If you're looking for a sweet, quick, steamy read then you'll want to grab this one. You'll love Baz (and his accent,) and it was a good way to kick off the holiday reading season.
Saving Grace has been on my mind and so scrolling through my kindle, I decided to give it a read, and even better as it was a quick read as I managed to start and finish it on my lunch break so if you have 30 mins to spare then this is the read for you. I also loved that despite the fact it was an instalove, it wasn't just all sex. I loved the two main characters as they were "real". We have Grace who is a complete klutz and normally it would have annoyed me, her continuing about it but it worked for the book and, to be honest - it didn't feel OTT, it surprisingly worked for the story, and then we have Jacob Baxter who is our resident hottie billionaire. He is mistaken by Grace as her ski instructor and for a day, he plays ski instructor rather than the "boss" and he loves the fact that Grace loves him for him and not just because he is a rich English billionaire, though the accent did help him as who can resist the British accent. Saving Grace was a good contemporary romance and another hit by Kristen Proby I love this author as all her females are strong in their way and prefer not to be helpless females but give what they can. So, readers, if you are looking for a pick-me-up romance during these dark Covid times, then Saving Grace by Kristen Proby is the read for you.
Saving Grace was a sweet, romantic and steamy read, I loved it.
Jacob was such a beautiful man both inside and out. Grace was fun, sweet and very lovable, I laughed with her humor and the way she would try to imitate Jacobs English accent, these two made this such a fun read.
I'm not usually a fan of the insta love but in this case it worked, they had a strong attraction and their chemistry was off the charts!
The epilogue was heartwarming and I was left with no doubt that these two were perfect for each other :)
I didn't realise this was a novella when I requested it and I now wish it was longer because it was so good! Grace is such a brilliant character who is smart and funny and so down to earth that she puts other leading ladies to shame. Her chemistry with Jacob is off the charts and their story put a big smile on my face. It is a basic plot but the writing is so brilliant that I wasn't bored for one second and felt that the characters had more depth than what was written on the page. Also, bonus points because Jacob is damn hot!
If you are looking for a quick romance read where the characters are witty and sexy, I would definitely pick this up.
Loved it. It was short, sweet and snoflakey.
I loved both Grace's and Jacob's character. There's not many twists and turns, it's just a simple and sweet novella.
Since it's short, everything happens quickly. There's no build up of sexual tension, brushing of hands, zap of electricity, hitching of breath. It's just a quick attraction and then falling hard for one another. Actions and reactions both are instant. This one acted as a great bridge between the two heavy contents I have been reading.
Grace was funny and quirky and Jacob was not the usual brooding and intimidating hero we often see in romance books. So, that was quite a change which I liked.
Kristen Proby is the MASTER of smart, sexy, funny and romance!!!! I have enjoyed every book she has written and this one was no exception!
Grace is the most ungraceful, funny and adorable character ever. I love her and thought that Jacob/Bax was her perfectly sexy British match.
This was a great Novella to the series and was very short and sweet. I will be recommending this book, as I have with all her other books to everyone I know!
Wow, just wow. And not in a good way. This novella completely did not work for me, from the idea of sending a constantly clumsy person skiing, without any of her so-called friends even going along to make sure she was okay, to the clichéd dialogue, the cringe-worthy sex scenes and the awful jokes… Yeah, this book was not what I was expecting.
I didn’t have too much of a problem with Grace, other than her annoying jokes about Bax’s accent, which were more embarrassing than funny. Her klutziness was kind of endearing at first, but then it conveniently vanishes until the end when it can prove useful again. The only thing I really didn’t like about her is her insistence on calling Bax by his first name, Jacob. I don’t think it’s up to her to dictate his preferred name. It’s a very small thing, but it irritated me.
Not half as much as Bax’s habit of saying “darling” in pretty much every sentence – unless he’s calling Grace “love”. He’s British, yes, I get it, but the overabundance of darlings instantly made me think of theatre luvvies (oh, daahling! How are you?) or a generic London cabbie (awight, darlin’?). Neither of which fitted Bax too well. Oh, and then there’s his completely superfluous and utterly ridiculous knighthood.
(Excuse me while I rant…)
Firstly, he would never be called Sir Baxter. His first name is Jacob, therefore he’d be Sir Jacob Baxter, or just Sir Jacob. Secondly, a knighthood is granted for non-military service to the crown/country, such as philanthropy or in the arts or sport or something inspiring, great or money-orientated. So what spectacular thing did this useless playboy do? Nothing worth mentioning, apparently. If his honorific Sir is supposed to be inherited then it would be a baronetcy, which is not the same thing as he would know, and he also can’t have inherited because his father is still alive. So not only was it a stupid thing it was also completely incorrect. Just thought I’d flag that up there.
(Okay, rant over, you can come back now.)
As for the romance. Meh. It’s a quick thing formed of instalove and not much else. However, the sex scenes are hilarious – for all the wrong reasons. Most of the things he says to Grace made me cringe. The constant references to her flushing just sounded wrong. As for Grace… yeah, she has her moments too. I don’t think I was supposed to be laughing throughout, but it did at least give me something to enjoy.
So, yeah, this book and I did not get on. Luckily it was short, which is about the only thing I can say in its favour. I’m just glad this wasn’t my first Kristen Proby book, because it would definitely have been my last. I guess I’ll just gloss over this one and hope for better next time.
Saving Grace is a novella that is part of Kristen Proby’s Love Under the Big Sky series. It takes place between the second and third novels. This can be fully read as a standalone. If you’re like me however, you’ll be going back to read the rest of the series just due to this short, sweet story. The story is told from an alternative third person point of view between the two main characters, Grace and Jacob. It does have an HEA, and no, there is no cliffhanger!
For me, anything with Kristen Proby’s name on it, is something I will pick up and read. This series is one that is on my Kindle, and has just been waiting for me. When I got the ARC for Saving Grace, I didn’t realize it was part of this series! So I read it, unknowingly being drawn into the whole shebang.
The story of Grace and Jacob is one that is just plain sweet. Being that it is a novella, you’ll have to realize that it is fast paced. Some may call it insta-love. Regardless of the pace, I loved the plot for this. Grace, is anything but graceful, and Jacob is just looking for a woman to love him for him, and not what he has in his bank. The connection overall between the characters, even the initial ones that is extremely well done. There is a definite amount of chemistry here and it translates off the pages.
I’m more than happy to slap a five star rating on this book. For me, it was a perfect novella to tuck myself away for a few hours with. I’ll definitely be reading the rest of the series now!
Saving Grace was part of holiday anthology Baby, It's Cold Outside and also part of "Love Under the Big Sky" series.
This was my first Kristen Proby's book and I admitted that the blurb got me hooked! I mean, a klutzy teacher learned to ski and got a sexy hotelier played ski instructor instead. Count me in!
Alas, there was something off in this book for me. It was, at best, an awkward reading, probably because of the alternates first person POV. I dunno.
I wasn't really impressed with Jacob and, while I initially thought Grace's ability to laugh at herself and made light of her klutziness charming, it got tiring real quick. And I failed to get immersed in their supposedly budding romance.
So, a lukewarm first impression. But that's me. Others might have totally contrary opinion on this.
Review originally posted at All Books Considered: 1 STAR
Oh man, this was really, really bad. I was rolling my eyes the entire time, and I think at some point I posted a GR status that said something to the effect of "Good thing this is short since it is pretty terrible." The best thing I can say about this one is that it was short. While I really liked the first book in this series, I didn't finish the second book and didn't really like the third book. That being said, this story of insta-love of some of the background characters was definitely not necessary. The Montana setting has such potential but this one was just so cliche (billionaire ski resort owner hides his true identity to just randomly give ski lessons to a woman he sees in the lodge . . . hi-jinx and insta-love ensue including ridiculous extravagance and an epilogue with a proposal).
"What are your plans for the rest of the evening?" he asks.
"Yoga pants and a Lifetime movie," I reply.
"Can I talk you into doing those things in my suite?"
Can I just say that I would totally deliberately act clumsy if the instructor was a hot Brit?
Grace Douglas's best friend is getting married and the bachelorette party is at a ski resort in Aspen. Amazing, right? Not for Grace. She is the CLUMSIEST person ever to be born in Cunningham Falls, Montana. In order to save herself from breaking her neck, Grace is going to take ski lessons at a local ski resort. She has minimal hopes but a steel determination.
Hotelier Jacob Baxter has no problem playing the role of a ski instructor if his student is the gorgeous and captivating woman like Grace. Her sense of humor and easy charm draw him in.
This was a quick but excellent read. The chemistry and the passion between Jacob and Grace was MIND-BLOWING. I loved everything about this, their banter, the development of the characters and just literally everything. ~Sonal
A wonderful little novella from Kristen Proby, a great addition to her Love Under the Big Sky series. I think in such a short format that it’s important to have characters with big personalities and also impactful chemistry otherwise your left feeling unsatisfied at the end. I have to say that Bax and Grace really checked all the boxes for me. From the first moment that they meet they have a smoldering intensity that leaves you wanting more. Bax is a debonair Brit with serious seduction game but he’s met his match in fun loving and charismatic Grace. A short intense weekend turns into something more serious. I enjoyed every minute of this novella and I hope to see more Bax and Grace in the future.
I was excited to read this novella, I was introduced to both Grace and Jacob in the final book in the series (I ended up forgetting about this novella until after I got halfway through the final book) and I was excited to go back and read this novella. Both of them were wonderful characters, this novella did leave me with a few issues. The major one that I had was that it's hinted that she's not close to her parents but it was never explained or explored in any way.
Saving Grace is the fourth book in Kristen Proby’s Love Under the Big Sky series. And there are some distinct differences between this book and the first three of the series. First off it’s not a full length book, it’s a novella. Secondly, we met the two protagonists billionaire ski resort owner Jacob Berkley and school teacher Grace Douglas already a couple in Falling for Jillian, the third book in the series. So for me the book seemed a little out of sequence. This novella starts with how the two met and ends with them taking their relationship beyond where it was in Falling for Jillian. And lastly unlike the first three books in this series the male protagonist doesn’t fuck up and the female protagonist isn’t in any danger other than from injuring herself due to her well documented tendency towards clumsiness. In summary unlike the first three books in this series there’s really no drama in this one beyond a couple of really likable protagonists who come from completely different backgrounds falling in love. Sweet, sexy, smart and funny Grace was adorable and Jacob was I’m sure a swoony heartthrob for female readers whom I couldn’t find anything to dislike about. Enjoy!
