A great slice of science fiction history - you have here a book complied and annotated by the great Brian Aldiss on the early days of science fiction artistry. The book goes in to a potted history of the subject before reproducing some of the classic pieces of the various artists.

Now this is way before my time (it end in the early 70s when I was born) but interestingly it shows how certain artists became associated with the various publications- in some cases visibly being linked to them.

The book is over sized so many of the pieces are full page prints and although they are taken from quite low grade originals they are amazing to look at - a great read and I am so pleased to add it to my collection - just a shame this edition has some sun bleaching on the cover
