I was honestly not ready for this to end, and that might be why I waited so long to read this. But, My!My!My! That ending. If you loved when Dojo and Kasahara kissed last time, you will absolutely go completely fangirl crazy in this volume, where they kiss thrice! OMG! Yes!Yes!Yes! More, please. More like that. These are moments worth waiting for. And, then, when we find out a few pages later that Kasahara and Dojo got married, and she is now Lt. Dojo herself and in charge of a LF crew of her own. OMG, I hate that this series had to end.

Luckily, the mangaka spoke (in her "Free Talk" sections) of there being some Extra Volumes coming out. So, I am really looking forward to those.

And - It's all over! Great ending, relationships were all wrapped up, and Iku was allowed to mature and prove herself under a stressful situation. This was a fun series and I'm sorry to see it end

"I'm thankful for that day...because it led to this day"

All your dreams come true this volume.

Iku started off as a rash girl who was naive in her thinking but finally she's grown into a superior officer everyone respects. Her "prince" is no longer her fantasy. Dojo is real and he is here. And she's in love with him. And he with her.

Can we all take a moment for that AMAZING KISS SCENE?! Like shojo manga tend to keep things "pure" lol but I mean when the characters are constantly at each other arguing and realize they like each other and there's so much sexual tension between them, it would be a grave disappointment if their kiss was some j-drama level action lol.

Thankfully, this isn't the case!! Not only do they share a sweet moment but holy shit Dojo and Iku get into it. ;) Like 4 times lol.

I loved every moment of this series and I cannot recommend this enough. The live action films are fantastic and if it weren't for those movies, I wouldn't have ever given this a shot.

The movies have been subbed in English along with their one episode drama. If you have the time please check the movies out not only for the amazing chemistry between Iku and Dojo, but for some badass fight scenes that weren't in the manga.

I love this series, maybe even more in this format!! My favorite character is Shibasaki, but I grew attached to everyone of them! I love this group, this world, this story, the action, the reflexions, the idea! (and the romance, which is rare!) Big plus: the side stories and the humour!!

Iku has been training for over 3 years to be successful in the mission she’s taking on solo on behalf of the Library. An author’s freedom of speech is so important and having to take him undercover in a highly funny way is wonderful even when the risks are so high and you don’t know what might happen. This was such a wonderful way to end this series. You start this series with Iku questioning if she can do this job and men questioning if a women is meant for this position and ends with her being the only one who can continue on and finish this mission through. I absolutely loved this and the ending just got me. I loved the bonus manga at the end and it pulled on my heartstrings so hard.

I really hope that the additional side stories get translated into English because I would love to learn more about where many of these relationships have gone. It’s sad that the main story is over but I enjoyed myself so much.

Re-read 2021: And so the manga ends! *sighs* I will so miss it! This was a very wonderful conclusion to the story and I was absolutely in tears at the end. I am so proud of Iku for all she does in this volume, from making plans to save the writer, to that telegram... to confessing! She is so strong, but I could see why she broke down in Osaka, I would have done the same. So much stress, no good way to contact colleagues, just hoping that the message has been received.
I am so happy with those last pages and all that is said there. Not just for everyone involved, but also for the censorship and how that ends, about the library, and others.
BTW, that wedding photograph had me laughing HARD. Dojo just looks like he attending some event he DOESN'T want to go to instead of his wedding. :P
I loved the polls and the little extras that came with volume.
All in all, this was a fun re-read! Starting in March, read a volume (or two) a week and now I am done. I loved it! Not too fast and not too slow. :)

-------------------------

And so the main story comes to a close. I can only hope that we will also get the side story manga.

This manga was full of emotion, full of feelings. Yes, I cried, quite a lot of times actually. I also laughed, cheered and was delighted with how the manga ended. Well, for most. Before I want to rave about all the good, I want to say how sad I am that we never got to see that wedding, or anything else in between. Now it feels like our favourite couple said what they wanted to say, and got hitched right away. Yes, there is a time skip, but we don't know when they married. It just feels incomplete. I have looked forward to the romance, to them finally confessing, I have seen the grown together, cheered for them, only to be snubbed at the ending. Yes, there was a confession. Yes, it was fabulous and all that I wanted, but then that time skip happened and suddenly they are married? And all we get to see is that one photo.. BAH. :|

But other than that, this was a fabulous last book in the series, I like how everything got its right ending, how everything turned out to be. I loved what happened to the censorship, the library forces, and all the others that had such a big role in the book. I am delighted for all the characters, for everyone in this world. Yay! Good job everyone who worked so hard to get where they are now.

I also loved Iku's plan to save Mr Toma. It was an amazing plan, a bit reckless, but that fits with Iku completely. I loved how she stayed strong, even when she wanted to just curl up and find out what happened to Atsushi. I just wanted to tell her everything would be all right, that she was almost done. That she will be awesome in what she does.

The art is still truly amazing, and I just love the style. It fits the characters perfectly, and I just love Iku's expressions, she makes the best ones. :D

All in all, I will really miss this series, it was such an amazing ride. Maybe one day I will re-read them all, and this time I won't have to wait until the books come out. This time I can just read them in one go. *cheers*

I would highly recommend this series. It has action, romance, awkward and hilarious situations and much much more.

So so SO good! I totally admit that I cried at the end because this was such a phenomenal series and this was the BEST ending!

I was extremely proud of Iku and how far she’s come. She grew so much and loved what she did for Mr. Toma in this volume. She earned her insignia and just so proud to have cheered her on.

Also, the very ending was perfect. I absolutely loved it! I’m such a basket of happy feels and so thankful to have read this series.

Hoping to read the side stories next because goodness knows I’m not ready for these characters to go!!

Very enjoyable ending and arc to a delightful series. I want another series about Shibizaki, but i mean that's just a universal want right there.

It is a bit tragic to see the belief that the international community would jump in and shame another country for censorship and that that shame would move a government. That's more unbelievable
than TV banding together to protect publishing.

But the series is still a delight, and made me think about things like access to information and censorship in a new way. More books! More books!

Note: the store ladies in this one are right up there with the bookstore staff in the previous book, as EXCELLENT people.

trashy but adorable romcom in a library meets military setting. The characters are just really enjoyable and make this worth reading. Instructor dojo is a short king and kasahara one of the representations of tomboy and dumbassery <3

Well, I like the ending. I'm usually a bit scared of manga endings: most of the time they're so open that they frustrate me. But that's not the case! It wraps up things nicely.

I really like this manga. It took forever to read so I forgot everything that happened in the first 10 volumes. That added to the fact that I seem unable to tell characters apart... It's a recipe for disaster.

I really like Iku, the main protagonist. I absolutely adore the fact that she's taller than Dojo... Yeah, it happened to me, as well. I also love her strength and the way she faces the world. And when SHE kissed Dojo... AHHH! On the contrary, I don't like the fact that Japanese girls are always way more stupid that their male counterparts. SIGH! OK, Shibazaki is just the exception that confirms the rule. (I don't know if this last sentence makes sense in English, I just translated an Italian saying word for word ^__^)

Dojo is a very interesting male character but, I guess, that I preferred Tezuka. Don't ask me why. I almost preferred the Shibazaki-Tezuka kiss, rather then the Iku-Dojo one.

Since it took me so long to read the series, the world-building was a bit confused for me. I always forgot details that were very important to the story. For this reason, sometimes I was reading and I wasn't exactly sure about what was going on in the story. That was confusing!

I'm not sure if Viz Media is going to translate the bonus volumes. I'd read them because the short stories at the end of each volumes were really funny!

So, yeah, I'm happy to have read this series. It was really interesting and also it was a different shōjo compared to the ones I usually read. The are wasn't special but yeah, I liked it. I mean, the drawings were nice and there weren't many words on the page. ^__^

What's next? Well, either xx me!, Band 12 or Aruito: Moving Forward, vol. 7. I've bought all the volumes, so it would be a volume a day till the ending.

When I had picked this volume up to read tonight, I hadn't noticed that this was the last volume in the series. My reaction: https://twitter.com/rachiplier/status...

I had come across this series back in June 2014, and I immediately fell in love! I immediately asked if we could order the rest of the series for my library. Every time a new volume came in, I was the first to grab it. I even looked up the anime series, which unfortunately failed in comparison.

Anyways, this finale was exactly what I was hoping for! I might have squealed like a major fangirl multiple times (and even shed a few tears). It is bittersweet to see a series come to an end..... BUT IT'S NOT THE END FOR LIBRARY WARS! The author promised at the end, "Next is the first book of the Library Wars Love & War extra volumes." That's right! We've been told that there'll be bonus stories! I'm extremely excited to get my hands on these new editions. This is seriously a great manga series for anyone to read! It has a mixture of everything to catch anyone's attention. I can't stop saying how much I love this manga! <3

Hmm, I feel slightly conflicted. Library Wars is one of my most favourite manga series EVER, and yet.... I think the original light novels are a tad better. I feel like a traitor!

What's hot - great art, and great fan service in the form of cute and funny bonus chapters and sidebars. Manga is a great medium for showing off an excellent blend of action/humour/romance/
thriller. Also the artist should be praised for staying very close to the original.

What's not - the manga Kasahara is girlier and weepier than the novel version, something I find a little jarring, considering she is some sort of elite commando. She seems to spend too many tender moments weeping into Dojo's shoulder.... in the novel she definitely shows her vulnerability in Dojo's presence but there isn't so much weeping involved.

Read both and see for yourself.

A very great series! If you want to watch the anime that goes with the manga and the novels Click Here. It will direct you to Crunchyroll where you can view this amazing anime! I liked how the manga correlates directly to the novel and the show. There were some minor changes but the overall plot is there. Dojo and Kasahara are so cute together! Highly recommend reading this manga and watching the anime if you have the time!

The funniest, the most adorable manga I've ever read. Who doesn't love the totally oblivious, ever quarrelsome power duo, Kasahara and Dojo? They're the cutest thing ever, and all the side characters are great, too.

Final volume.

Good stuff. No surprise that Kasahara and Dojo are a couple.

Favorite scene - Kasahara finally makes her way to the hospital to visit Dojo. That kiss and then that kiss and then that kiss ... finally.

My only disappointment - Shibazaki and Tezuka remain a step or two from becoming a couple. To be continued ...

Anyway, thanks to Kathleen for the recommendation. I thoroughly enjoyed the series.

FINALLY FINALLY FINALLY. At long last, I have read the final volume of a series I had mostly devoured within the span of a few days. This is not technically one of the greatest manga series I've touched, but it most certainly has become a fond personal favorite.

Rom-com's don't typically deal with any issues beyond angst, drama, and estranged families. THIS one, however, is practically drowning in political concerns, tyrannical laws brought upon by terrorists, action, blackmail, and more. Yet... despite the heavy material, it still manages to maintain hilarious moments, lovable characters, and incredibly sweet blossoming romances. Not to mention, the very title, and bulk of the series' plot, praises and defends the most important export and freedom of expression: books. The Library Forces protects books and writers from those who wish to censor them for control. How can I resist a series that defends my beloved books?!

In all seriousness, it's a very well-done manga. The pacing is fast, but not too rushed. The comedy is gold, and the drama is heart-racing. The artwork is fairly standard, but clean and easy to identify characters (I have a personal grudge against mangaka who make all their characters look EXACTLY the same, male or female), and also action sequences that go smoothly. I highly recommend to anyone who likes to think a little bit while reading manga (in other words, those who only use manga as an outlet for thoughtless bullshit -- which I am partly guilty of, myself -- may not like this series for its deeper conflicts). Or, any avid book lovers or romantics may still appreciate the series for its sappy moments and passion for protecting books and writers.

(So much time awake at night unwell, I was able to read the last two graphic novels in the series in one night. Yea/Ugh.)

This series was one of my first few forays into manga. It was a fun series to read. I wish we had more time to see Kasahara and Dojo together as a couple though, but I don't really have any other complaints.

I really enjoyed reading this series, and working for a public library system myself, this will likely always have a special place in my heart, because we also fight censorship and for the right and ability for patrons to read what they want freely.
