the story itself is quite good, with some amazing settings that are brilliantly described. All of this is to the credit of Tad Williams, yet the flip side of this is the narrator... I found listening to this to be a thoroughly painful experience, and ended up feeling a sizable degree of contempt and annoyance for certain lead and support characters because of the narrator.

Took me longer than usual to read and I'm not sure why. I loved the book and the characters but at times the story felt a little slow to progress.

this collection takes a long time to get into and clear on, but then picks up to a quite lovely & innovative world and worldview!

I read this series over 10 years ago and it still sticks/haunts me to this day!
