The book is a treasury of wisdom. Dr. Ray presents us with information that can help us live long, healthy and happy lives. The lack of mindfulness is the cause of many problems in life. Happiness, insight, and wisdom arise only when we can settle into being complete in this moment. I am always hurried through life at such a frantic pace...regretting yesterday and dreaming of tomorrow, yet never truly living in the moment. Learning how to immerse myself in this moment, and this moment alone, has been incredibly difficult. But this book is an excellent guide for living in the present moment.

The book has five chapters. It explains about thirty two different mindfulness practices. I liked the micro-mindfulness, hierarchy of mindfulness, frameworks of mindfulness, and goal setting and planning with mindfulness sections of the book most.

It is a very inspirational and insightful book. It helps you to understand what is exactly meditation and how to practice it. Something so different of what many people think. An excellent book!!

This gem of a book has inspired me to meditate regularly and for longer periods of time. You will never drink a cup of tea in the same way. The style is charmingly simple and direct. This book introduces methods and thoughts on mindfulness, and how to transfer those practices and techniques to our everyday lives, not only when meditating, but when doing pretty much anything. I'll will return to several key passages time and again. One of my favorites: "Collaboration is the essence of life. The wind, bees and flowers work together, to spread the pollen. Mindfulness gives us the understanding of the cosmic collaboration." For the first time I realized the connection between breathes and the to the world.

My Moms was watching TV. She was watching Scandal live on Thursday nights. I was embarrassed. OK, maybe “embarrassed” is too strong a word. Suddenly, picked this book up and began to read. I'm about half-way through and it's really quite good. There is really many good stuff in this book. You don't have to be a Buddhist to get some really some good stuff out of this book. I'm not sure how it initially started but I am now fascinated by the thoughts Amit Ray. The more I read his books, the more I'm in awe of him. It's not a self-help book but rather a book about how the Amit Ray believes that people inherently have the ability to beautify their moments. This book calms me down and puts me at peace.

Another lovely book by Amit Ray. Clarity and simplicity of explanation.
Amit Ray: When you encounter a problem in life, do you generally turn to look at your bodily sensations or feelings first, or do you jump into the problem?
Normally, if you do not already have more than 200 hours of mindfulness meditation practice, you will look at the problem first. Meditation practices will develop your awareness of your feelings in every situation of life, especially in the midst of emotional turmoil. These techniques will keep your mind sharp, clear and balanced. These techniques will help you to develop stability. It's a wonderful technique and it's the greatest gift that I can give myself in this lifetime.

Let me begin by saying that I have always been a huge skeptic about mindfulness, meditation, and anything else along those lines. I personally have a difficult time staying focused with reading most self-help books. However, this book kept me engaged and enthused the entire read. This book shows the ways to look at the past as a old, soft, flower filled with wisdom from one has been through. The good thing is to learn how to have 80% of your mind on the present moment for boosting productivity, engaging in meaningful conversations, and simply enjoying your life on earth, and only 10% should be given to learning from the past, and remaining 10% to the future for planning your day.

I am from the background of deep mantra meditation. Whenever I close my eyes for meditation, mantra start its repetition. I was unaware about that. This book helped me to see meditation and daily activities from the perspective of awareness. I liked the techniques and the examples of the techniques.

Beautiful synthesis of heart and mind, this book is written from the personal and truthful perspective of an individual who has absorbed the depth and breadth of mindfulness meditation. This is extraordinarily profound and full with practical knowledge. It’s a book to sit with when one is in a mood to savor and go beyond the words. I finished this book, but will be revisiting it. I found the book quite an interesting read. If you are a creative person, go ahead and buy it, you wont be disappointed.

The book is very useful in helping me become more comfortable in everyday human situations. The book is recommended by my professor. Although the book is relatively poetic, it introduces topics studied today at university courses on mindfulness meditation and cognitive psychology. The collection of articles and the available information in an accessible and methodical manner that facilitates deeper understanding of mindfulness meditation both in academic environment as well as in daily life.

When I focus attention on the feeling inside my body, I know exactly the location of the pain and the pleasure. I accept them as it is there. I don't think about them . Feeling and thinking are two different compartments. The book does not try to change people. But if you practice mindfulness, everything will slowly change. You don't need to judge or analyze. Stay present, and observer of what is happening inside you. Then see what happens. I recommend this book to all.
Enjoy and Be Blessed.

This book taught me to make the most out of each moment. It taught me about planning in the present moment. It makes living easier. The book tells about a precious present moment that when found will make us happy! You can't get it by wishing, or looking anywhere, because you already have it. Once you realize what it is, you will be connected.

We all want to be happy. What is the best way for happiness? Present moment living is the answer. The book nicely explained the ways to live in the present moment. Mindfulness is now known to all, but exact theory behind it is unknown. The book nicely explained the strategies for daily mindful living.

I am the sum total of all of my life moments that went before me. Moments are flowing. This book taught me how to beautify the moments with very very simple techniques. The quality of my moments are making my world. I am empowered by the moments. To sum up, the beatitude of Amit Ray's writing, and the luxuriant flow of words in the book is simply rapturous. I actually borrowed the book from my mother. The book is hard to put down. Dr. Ray is subtle with emotion, easy on detail, and can really get to the heart of mindfulness in a few pages. A strange critic, but because of this I had to reread portions to make sure I understood the concepts. The writing is lovely and goes very deep.
