It was in 2010, when Chris began role playing online as a hobby, that writing wormed its way back into the picture. This time, writing storylines for the role playing group.
The ideas and plots created for the game awoke the inner writer and a few months later, together with partner in crime C. Aubrey, began writing erotic romance.
Now, still together, they have written a number of short stories and novel. They are currently working on book three of their series as well as several short stories. Through it all they have continued to enjoy role playing through their favorite characters.

For those of you that have read Countermeasure by Chris Almeida and Cecilia Aubrey you have to read this book. I can not tell you how many books that I've finished and just wished I had a little more of what happens next. Ecstasy by the Sea is that book. The Bytes of Life series could be read independently of the Countermeasure series, but I would advise reading them as companions.
In Ecstasy by the Sea we get a peek at Trevor and Cassandra's wedding and their move to Ireland. I loved the descriptions of how Bob is stepping up to be the dad that he should have always been. Trevor is so sweet and works so hard to surprise Cassie with an unexpected honeymoon. Their love comes across even more in this short story and the scenes are a ton hotter.
I can not wait to read more on this couple and the characters that make up the Countermeasures series.

After reading Ecstasy by the Sea, I looked up and said a silent ‘thank you’.
Ecstasy by the Sea takes place after the wedding ceremony of Trevor and Cassandra. As they move across the pond to Ireland, one tiny detail was forgotten, the honeymoon.
Trevor, trying to be the most romantic husband ever, booked a room as a lovely hotel on the shores of Ireland. Trying to hide the surprise from Cassandra , he plans and packs and kidnaps her while on the way home from a trip to the store.
Ecstasy by the Sea takes us straight to the shores of Ireland for a roll in the grass, a nice romantic dinner, and a whole lot of scorchin’ hot sex in the hotel room.

Not as exciting
Now Countermeasures was a force to be reckon with. The excerpt from Uncharted kept you in the zone wanting more adventures, espionage, and romance. But this was just plain sexy reading. Nothing particularly wrong with that but a big let down from the first two.

This is the first of 3 ‘shorts’ that serve as filler between the main stories of Countermeasure and To Russia With Love. The authors suggest that you read all the books and shorts in order, and this short is most certainly loaded with erotic content and situations. As a series – this is a winner – and these shorts are a nice interlude while waiting for the 3rd novel to arrive.
This short picks up just after the wedding of Trevor and Cassandra, as they are flying to their new home in Dublin, spending hours on a plane from California. Trevor had realized, belatedly, that he had not planned a honeymoon with all of the other arrangements being made. So, he hatches a plan to steal Cassandra away from their new home in Dublin to the beautiful Waterside House Hotel.
Trevor manages to keep the secret – packing quickly when Cassie went out to explore the neighbourhood into which she has just moved. Trevor then manages to spirit her off to the hotel for a weekend of pleasure and enjoyment. Full of the excitement and eroticism of most honeymoons, they have eyes only for each other, and thoughts that are constantly straying to the large, comfortable bed in the private room with a view.
What increases the erotic content in these stories is not the action (although it is detailed lavishly and creates imagery that gives the feel of being there) but the character’s interplay with one another. The obvious caring and emotion that resides in every action and the delight in pleasuring one another throughout the story is evident. A true winner and a great interlude for that ‘bedtime’ read.

I have read and reviewed this title in eBook format, after devouring the full length novels in the Countermeasure series. As the book description explains, Trevor and Cassie are starting their married lives: Trevor has planned a lovely seaside getaway for their honeymoon.
The connections between the two is strengthened and deepened, the true enjoyment of one another is readily apparent. Almeida and Aubrey have delivered on their promise to make these shorts character-driven pieces, and I am actually rather jealous of those of you who are just coming to the series - you can make your own combinations of read / listen to the series and it's Bytes in order, a real treat.
Skillfully narrated by Tim Gerard Reynolds, he has become one of my favorite listens. With a soft touch of Irish accent in his narration, more distinctly apparent for Trevor, and a softer tone, without great exaggeration in pitch to 'sound' overtly female for Cassie: the characters are easily distinguished; put forth with the proper inflection and emphasis that fully present the emotional subtext in the spoken dialogue. Even the erotic scenes (and they are frequent) are voiced with breathless pauses, soft murmurs and give the listener a feel of voyeuristic delight.
As always, these are truly wonderful glimpses into the 'between adventure' times for the characters: and do provide interesting and informative insight, a perfect adjunct to the full length novels, with just enough substance to give a quick fix when you only have a little time, or want more about the characters in what will become a favorite series for those who encounter it.

I loved this simple continuation of Countermeasures. The honeymoon that every reader wants to see but never gets a chance too. Well Chris and Cecilia give us that treat. I love the way these two characters look at each other you can feel the emotion pouring off the pages. Their love is extremely 3-D, you almost forget they are characters in a book, and that is exactly the way it should be. Their passion ignites with a spectacular view of the Irish Sea. Honeymoon +Trevor +Cassie = Warning label: Handle with oven mitts. If you loved Countermeasures, you will love Ecstasy by the Sea.

If you’ve ever been disappointed when you hit the last page of a book because you are so in love with the characters that you just want more, this book is the answer. We get more Trevor. We get more Cassandra. We get more humor, and we get more sizzling hot sex.
In this short sexy read we get to experience Trevor and Cassandra’s honeymoon. This couple met and fell in love in book one. It was action packed and intense. They never got a chance to have a traditional courtship. With this exciting addition to the series they are finally able to focus on themselves. No phones, computers, meetings, plans, nothing but just enjoying one another. And let me tell you, they do enjoy one another. We are treated to some heart pounding, bed shaking, hotter than hell honeymoon action.
I am completely in love with Trevor and Cassandra. They have a relationship that just radiates love and passion on every page. I can’t wait to dig into the next short adventure and continue my obsession with Mr. and Mrs. Bauer. If you read book 1, Countermeasure, this is an absolute must read. Their honeymoon adventure will leave you more than satisfied.

This was okay but a bit slower pace than Cuffed, which is why it loses a star. There was much more build-up and less actual action and though still enjoyable, there was a greater emphasis on the love shared by the pair than there was on the more physical side of their relationship. When things do start to happen, the sexual scenes are, as usual, highly descriptive, but, unlike with Cuffed, this did not feel as though it was the main focus of the story. Instead, this short story was all about reaffirming Trevor and Cassandra’s love for each
other and strengthening the bond shared by them both. In that sense, it was more Romance than Erotica and, whilst still good, it just wasn’t quite up to the same raunchy standard as Cuffed.
I am still enjoying this series and love the way these short stories read as a kind of naughty interlude between the main adventures of the Countermeasures storyline. I always think that reviewing short stories is kinda silly. I either like them or I don't. Not much to say. Well I'll try a little harder this time because I really liked this one. If you have not read Countermeasure, I suggest you stop reading this review and get snappy on that book. #1, this book will obviously spoil some plot in Countermeasure. And #2, ummmmm I don't have a number 2... just don't read this review until you check that out.
It's nice to have a short story based solely on the romance part of the series. I'm such a sucker for a good quickie...no pun intended :-P or maybe it is intended. Whatever lol. I always happen to be reading the really juicy stuff in public...like the waiting room at the car dealership. I always feel really scandalous reading smexy stuff in public. My face must have been beet red. Back to the point... Ladies, this book will have you drooling all over yourself. Seriously... it may be a good idea for you to carry a mop and a bucket. This has all of the heart pounding romance that you'd come to expect from Countermeasure and so much more. Mamma likey!!!

The thing I love most about the bytes of life is that we get to follow characters I wasn’t ready to let go of from Countermeasure. In this short story we watch Trevor act like, well, a normal guy figuring out how to make his new wife Cassandra happy and that includes a honeymoon surprise. Chris and Cecilia know how to write hot and sexy stories. The interactions between Trevor and Cassie are very respectful and sweet yet so steamy and passionate. There is no crude language (except Cassie has a way of making Trevor say the f-word when she has pushed him to his limits in a good way) or anything that makes you feel awkward. It is all very romantic and typical in that can���t-keep-your-hands-off-one-another stage of marriage. I highly recommend Ecstasy by the Sea to anyone that has read Countermeasure and wants to see what things are like with Trevor and Cassandra after their horrific life or death experience.

When Countermeasure ended the newly married couple was heading to Dublin to start their new life. This short picks up right after Countermeasure ends. The Bauer's make it Dublin and embark on life as newlyweds. The only problem? Neither one of them thought about a honeymoon! Usually not a planner, Trevor sets out to surprise his wife with a getaway weekend on the coast.
Readers are in for a treat for sure! This is a great short that gives us readers a glance into what happens during the day to day. Fans of Countermeasure won't be disappointed. Trevor's smart humor is in abundance. The sex is hot enough to make you want to turn the AC up or go stick your head in a freezer when you are done reading.

This is a short story based on the book characters from Countermeasures. What a great concept these authors have come up with. If you have ever been disappointed when you have read the last page of a book because you loved the characters and just want more, this short story following the main book Countermeasures is the answer. We get more of Trevor and Cassandra. More of their story and more sizzzzling hot sex. Overall I would rate the story a 4 and assign a sexy rating of 5 (based on La Deeda Reads scale).
I am completely in love with Trevor and Cassandra. Cant't wait to read the other short stories. I love that there is a way to continue to find out more about these characters while waiting for the second book in the series.

Following Trevor and Cassandra on their honeymoon was a joy to read. It was great to watch Trevor get away with planning something and be able to pull off the surprise. The passionate relationship between them only grew stronger and seeing a relaxed side of them, away from the rest of the world was amazing. I have read many romances and the intimate scenes between these two left me desiring more. Their love and lust for one another was truly conveyed. Chris and Cecilia once again brought me into Trevor and Cassandra's world, creating an incredible story and many HOT scenes. I cannot wait until their next release!

I am not going to reiterate what other people have written....you want the plot, read the blurb...I just know that with each book Chris and Ceci write, I get a little more invested in Trev and Cassie...This book was just what was needed between Countermeasures and Cuffed....Really, I loved that this was "normal"....it perfectly showed how the "after they say I do" moves on....Gives more insight into Mr. Geeky Perfection, aka Trevor, and the other half of his soul, aka Cassandra, begin their new life together...tender and teasing, serious and insecure, I was gifted with seeing my new favorite couple bond, and fall deeper in love.

This is a Short Story that takes a slice of Trevor and Cassandra's life and magnifies it.
This Short story picks up very soon after Countermeasure ends. To say any more than that might give away too much for anyone who hasn't already read the first novel.
I really enjoyed this byte of life. If you have read Countermeasure then you'll definitely want to read this.

Oh, Trevor. You almost messed this up from the get go. Not that Cassandra would have loved you any less, but this was a chance to give her a memory that will last a lifetime. Chris Almeida and Cecilia Aubrey have written a short story that fills in a little gap in the Countermeasure story that could have been skipped but aren’t we lucky it wasn’t?

Thought I would read this at lunch for something short and continue Trevor and Cassie's story. Boy was I fanning myself at this sensual HOT short. The authors really know how to turn up the heat between the newlyweds!

A suprise honeymoon weekend! Trevor is the man! It starts with a walk along the beach and only gets hotter!!!! Great short story to let you in on the daily lives of Trevor and Cassandra Brennan.

I can't have enough of Trevor and Cassandra love story they are wonderful together. And in this story (their honeymoon) I was anxious for more and more about their live together!
