This book is the equivalent of the bible for sport coaches. Although it does not cover physical, technical, or tactical preparation, it will benefit all coaches because it covers everything else. The book includes content that cover season planning, practice planning, professional development, and much more. That is not the best part, the best part is that it provides a system for coaches that are a bit lost in they year to year operations, for coaches that struggle with maintaining a healthy coaching job. I highly recommend the book, but warn any avid readers that it is not an easy read. Not that the language is too elaborate, but rather that there is so much juice that a one time read makes it hard to digest. I would strongly recommend using it as a reference rather than a front to back book. Bravo Wade.

If you're serious about coaching you need to absorb this book. I have learned more about how to coach well by reading this book than any other book, camp, clinic, or training I have done over the past twenty years.

I recommend this book to anyone who is coaching a single season of any sport at any level.

Athletic organizations would be improved overnight by giving it to every coach in their league.

It should be required reading for anyone involved in athletics or youth sports.

I wish I had found it twenty years earlier!

If you coach, you should buy this book. It’s one of the top 10 non-fiction books I’ve read and one of the top 5 personal coach development books I’ve read. You’ll come back to Gilbert’s framework for years to come.

If you're a coach - it's a must have. Deals with pre-season preparation, during the season and how to look at what you accomplished for season and what to key in on moving forward.

Well laid out, excellent examples from a variety of sports and implementation of suggested techniques is feasible.

Every coach can benefit - some is new information and some is items of housekeeping and best practices that are reinforced.
