New York Times Bestselling Author Vivian Arend brings you the first STAND ALONE book in the bestselling SIX PACK RANCH series.

-------------
He's the one who taught her to ride. Now all he wants is to ride her.

Blake Coleman is old enough to know that acting on impulse causes nothing but trouble. But when trouble's a western-hat-wearing blonde with slim legs that go on forever, what's a man to do? Wanting the sweet girl next door is just wrong. The responsible thing to do is keep his hands off.

Jaxi has other plans for Blake's hands, and his heart. She may have once considered him a big brother, but that was a long time ago. She's all grown up now and ready to convince him that she's perfect for him. Except he can't seem to see past the big "don't touch" sign that's apparently still hanging around her neck.

When Jaxi ends up living right under Blake's nose, the undeniable heat between them slides off simmer and leaps up to barn-burning levels. However, a few of the younger six-pack Colemans have decided Jaxi's brand of trouble is worth risking a few busted bones.

That is, if Blake's finally ready to let go the reins and fight for what he wants...

Warning: Sexy cowboys seducing and being seduced in trucks, pool halls and barns. Droolworthy country charm, a little double-teaming, a few secrets and a whole lot of brothers to look forward to. Anyone wanna go for a ride?

10% - I love these two <3 I hope they get their HEA!

20% - I would pick Jesse and Joel - Blake you are to stubborn for your own good!

30% - You go girl!

40% - Wowza - did I just read that? And there is more? Sorry, I can't form a coherent thought *fans self*

50% - I will never look at a peach the same way again.

1 GLORIOUS STAR

It would have been 4 stars, but I seriously can't stand and tolerate the main heroine!!! She basically ruined the whole book for me! Don't get me wrong, this book is hot hot!!!!

But.... I want to murder this chick! She can go on and on how Blake was her one and true love since they met, but she was basically brothers "groupie" that DID NOT PUT OUT!

Sorry, but dating the other brother because he looks like Blake and because she thought she has no chance with Blake is just wrong. And then kissing all brothers through the years, except the one she truly loves.....

Then her behavior at the pool "dare".... Yeah, that is the behavior of one really sexually frustrated chick that needs to get laid pronto! So she can go on and on how she did it for Blake etc., but basically she was turned on because she was in sandwich between ----> his twin brothers .

I don't mind the whole weird vibe between brothers and "sharing is caring" moto etc., I simply mind her stupid behavior and her childish tantrums. And then she feels bad because 3 brothers want her! I mean WTF?!?!?!? I guess she should have thought more about others and not only her aching before she rubbed herself over all of them.

Seriously irritating heroine... wish she stayed virgin forever and "ached" forever.

This was my face the entire book.

Look, I love romance, I also love to read erotica, I don't cringe or get faint about threesomes or same sex relationships or rough sex, etc. That said, this book was not great. There were paper thin and loathsome characters galore, poor pacing/ploting, and the writing/dialogue...yikes.

So let's take it from the top. This is the first in what I imagine is going to be a story following the Coleman brothers/friends who all live in the Canadian Rockies. Points to Ms. Arend for having a book take place in Alberta, Canada, or heck any place that is not the mid-west for this book.

Long-time family friend Jaxi realizes that she no longer thinks of the eldest Coleman brother (Blake) as just a friend anymore. At 18 she keeps trying to stop herself from thinking of him as anything more than that, especially because she is dating his brother Jake. Three years later, Jaxi is home from college and ready to make Blake start to see her as more than just a childhood friend.

Blake is at his wit's end trying to keep his family's ranch running with his father while his mother is laid up hurt. Jaxi agrees to come and help the family out (because none of this lazy assholes know how to do anything) and finds himself starting to think of Jaxi as more than just a little girl who used to date his brother.

FYI there are six Coleman brothers, Blake, Daniel, Matt, the twins and the only name I recall is Jesse, and of course Travis, the brother that Jaxi dated. I imagine that means each brother is going to get a story, I have no urge to read any of them after this though.

So let's start with Jaxi. She sucks. There I said it. Seriously. Forget the fact we have this character dating one brother and trying her best to get another one to notice her. There are parts of this book which also has her using one of the brothers (Jesse) in order to make Blake jealous. I don't care what your deal is, but you don't do that. And she should have realized before anyone else that she was going to cause problems with Travis and the other brothers who all decided to act like she was a prize to be won, her feelings be damned.

Blake also sucks. I don't even know what to say about his messed up attitudes. But at one point he watches Jaxi take a shower (it's an outdoor shower) and acts like a jerk about any of his brothers hitting on her, but does that, oh no we can't because I am so much older than you, but I do want to be with you. These two dim-wits also don't use protection, but we do have Blake saying well at least he knows he's clean (eye-roll).

The other brothers were inter-changeable. They all acted like Jaxi was 1) the only woman they have ever seen, 2) the only single woman they have ever seen, 3) were way too up in her business, and 4) acted like she had to pick one of them and screw what she wanted.

There is a side-plot with the brother Matt they honestly added nothing to this story and actually made me scratch my head, like a lot.

I can't say much about the Coleman parents except the father seems to have the same attitude as his sons, that Jaxi is a prize to be won. I just cringed throughout because of tone throughout this book because I really hated how Jaxi was portrayed and how the "boys" were also potrayed.

The dialogue was cringe-worthy. There were a few scenes that had me laughing. Jaxi and Blake's first time and he has the nerve to be talking dirty to her about what she's going to give him and who else has been there besides him and his brother. I mean seriously? Cold water moment.

The pacing was pretty terrible too. It just dealt a lot with Jaxi trying to get Blake to notice her, and then when they were finally together just sex scenes and his brothers being angry that Jaxi didn't want them, and the brothers being pains in the butts afterwards. Seriously. That is this whole book.

The setting should have been better utilized. I honestly thought at first this book was taking place in Texas or somewhere other than Canada. Stupid question, but are there a lot of ranches in Canada? Or they really into cow-boys up there too? I mean the whole premise of this book was kind of a hot cowboy book and I was reading and wondering about cowboys in Canada (which lets you know how little this book held my interest).

photo Hello_zps111a4429.gif Update to my review March 12, 2013. I received additional information from the author about my review. Apparently I read an old version of this book and not the updated version (updated in 2012). According to Vivian some of the things i had issues with were changed. So please keep that in mind when you are reading my review.

I could not really get into this book, even though i knew it would be a light steamy read it just fell flat. I couldn't get into the hero Blake, and I really couldn't get into the young heroine Jaxi. I was turned off immediately at the way the story of these two started, I found it unbelievable. Jaxi was sick and needed a ride home, Blake ended up taking her and she apparently gave Blake a blow job while so feverish and sick. Blake believed he had no control over the situation and "let it happen" , feeling guilty and ashamed during and after (well duh), but keeping this bit of information from Jaxi until years later....

Well I was immediately turned off these two at this very early point in the story and I kept reading thinking I would start to warm up to these two, but it didn't happen. Considering all the wonderful reviews of this book from people i go to constantly for book suggestions, i was surprised i disliked it so much. So apparently I am just odd....

I don't want to write anymore about this story, because in my currently irritated state with this book I may give away even more of the story to prove how silly I thought the whole thing was. So I will say no more! lol.

I wil be trying the next book in this series eventually, hopefully its just this book I dislike.

Rocky Mountain Heat is the first book in the six pack ranch series. It is Jaxi and Blake’s story. Jaxi has grown up with the Coleman boys, and loves all of them like brothers that is except oldest Coleman Blake. She knew from a young age she wanted to be Blake’s wife. Blake has definitely noticed the beautiful Jaxi, afterall she grew up right before his eyes, but she is too young for him. Jaxi is back from college and returns to the Coleman ranch to help out after the Coleman matriarch breaks her mom. Will this be too much temptation for Blake?...Will he finally give in to his desires?? He will if Jaxi gets her way…

Whew...this book is hot, hot, hot! I love me a sexy cowboy...even more than one hot cowboy...6. I appreciated that the setting was Canada, and am a fan of ranch life...well @ least in books...don’t know so much about in reality. I enjoyed MOST of the characters and look forward to reading some of the brothers' stories! I will say there were things that frustrated me about both Jaxi and Blake. Jaxi made some poor decisions that irritated me, and I really wanted to dump a pitcher of cold water on her at the pool hall...come on girl...have more respect for yourself. There are other ways to get a man’s attention besides dry humping their brother...or in this case brothers. I liked Blake. He was sexy, strong, hot, loyal, responsible, but he was also annoyingly stubborn. I need to learn that shaking my tablet when reading doesn’t affect the choices of the characters...wouldn’t that be awesome though? Does anyone remember choose your own adventure books? We should do that for romance books...choose option A: go to page 75...option B page 80. Ok...im back sorry all….got distracted.
I was rooting for these two and did enjoy their story once they got together! The chemistry was “Rocky Mountain HOT!!!” There was a substory with Blake’s brother Matt and his longtime girlfriend Helen. I did not think it added anything to the overall value of this book...except more frustration. Oh, and the added hope that Matt is the next brother in the series to get his own starring role and HEA...AND NOT WITH HELEN! This subplot distracted me from Blake and Jaxi...probably because I was thinking about learning morse code to alert Matt to RUN AWAY...DANGER! DANGER! In the end it seemed like too much investment lol. Overall, this book was a great read, and I will definitely be checking out more of this series!

I recommend this book to those of you who love Lorelei James.

I loved this short but very steamy read right from the beginning.

This series centers around 6 hunky brothers, hence the name of the series 6 pack Ranch.

This is the first book in the series that centers around the oldest brother Blake. Blake has had a thing for Jaxi for quite some time but he's kept away from her because he is 10 years older and has known her since she was a child. He has a hard time with his attraction to her now that she is grown and feel's it's just not right for him to feel this way about her.

Jaxi has been in love with Blake since she was 10 and she is tired of waiting around for him to see that she is grown up now and all woman. She sets out to get her man and once she has him, the sparks fly among other things.

The sexual tension and heat in the book are very well done and nothing too kinky for those of you who like they're stories with heat but not filled with kink.

I enjoyed all the characters in this book including the mom and dad. We got a chance to meet a few of the brothers and what they are like too.

I enjoyed this book so well that I'm jumping right into book 2 Rocky Mountain Haven next and do plan on getting book 3 Rocky Mountain desire when it releases on March, 13, 2012.

Fun read and a great way to start out a series

This was fun and easy to read. I struggled to put it down until the end. It's lighthearted with plenty of funny and dirty bits. I liked that there wasn't complete focus on two characters. It a fantastic introduction a whole family and what makes them tick. 🕰❤️

UPDATED 12/2020:
I still love this book! Arend does a great job of building this family. Making you feel like a part of it. I know I mentioned this before, but I really love how she brought all of the brothers in, as well as some other family members, and slowly starts setting up future books in the series. I haven't read blurbs for the other books, but I could easily see them being BDSM, ménage, second chance, and single parent to warm things up.

This time around, I added audio to the experience. I enjoyed Tatiana Sokolov (aka Tanya Eby) at the mic. There was the occasional Canadian accent that added the right tone to the characters.

Vivian Arend Six Pack Ranch bk 01 Rocky Mountain Heat

Jackson "Jaxi" and Blake Coleman are hot as all getup.

He was in so much trouble when it came to this sweet girl....
-- Blake Coleman

He really, truly is in trouble when it comes to Jaxi. I love that he doesn't let the past, sometimes even the present, stop him once he's on board.

All she’d wanted her whole life was to be a rancher’s wife. Blake’s wife.
-- Jaxi

She definitely takes HUGE risks. Risks that would backfire for most. I do love her tenacity and ingenuity, though.

As much as I love Blake and Jaxi, one of my favorite things about this is the introduction to the whole Coleman family and some relatives, and how we get to see all of them in different ways - from Travis' secrets to Matt's blinders to Daniel's medical situation to the twins... well, the twins sure do keep things interesting. I'll just leave it at that for now. 🤪🤣

I listened to a copy of the audio book and read along. The narrator is Tatiana Sokolov. I like her, but I wish this was in duet with another voice actor. I can't have it all, so I'll be happy with this. 😘

Rocky Mountain Heat was the first book in the Six Pack Ranch series by Vivian Arend. The series focused on the six Coleman brothers in the small town, Rocky Mountain House.

And good Lord all the brothers were walking sex. They each had their own personality and brand of sexy but they were all hot AF in their own way.

Blake Coleman was the eldest Coleman sibling at thirty one. He was the most responsible and serious, always doing what he thought was expected of him. He lusted after Jaxi but she was too young so he refused to give it merit.

Jaxi had grown up with the Coleman’s, not literally in the same house, but the youngest siblings, twins Jesse and Joel, were her best friends. She was twenty one, gorgeous, sexy and innocent. She had crushed on Blake forever but the age difference was too much until now.

I liked the set up for the series better than I liked Blake and Jaxi. I didn’t dislike them, but I didn’t like the way her relationships with all the other Coleman’s were spelled out - no spoilers, so no elaboration, but it was a little odd to me. Additionally, it was told primarily from Blake and Jaxi’s POV, but there was a secondary story being told through Matt’s POV. It was an interesting subplot.

Overall, I liked the characters, the story and the set up for the series. It was sexy and fun and had long term promise to be sizzling hot as well as all have interesting stories. I can’t wait to read them all, but the twins- man, that scene was hot! Next up is Daniel in Rocky Mountain Haven.

A high 3 star read. I enjoyed this story of a young girl who had set her sights on this older guy years ago and she was out to get him. Failed a bit because honestly it could have used a bit more examples of her chasing him and also because he didn't have much of a reason to stay away from her and deny her. The sex was well done and pretty hot. There weren't many ranching details which was fine because that way there was less opportunity for irksome mistakes.

3 stars.

Not amazing but not bad. The writing was at times a little corny and some events in the story oddly bordered on incestuous. The sexy times were totally freaking hot though... felt like I needed Karla's SM fan.

Not enough to keep me completely riveted, and that fact - plus Law Man's release - had me skimming towards the end.

This book was just perfect. One beautiful book with the most satisfying end. It warmed me from the inside and left me smiling. I couldn't actually fall asleep after I finished it,because I was thinking about the nice moments and how much I liked it.

We have Blake the sexy cowboy and Jaxi with her soft heart, and wonderful personalty. The hot scenes were hot. This was one of these books where everything happens the way you want it to without sounding too easy or too happy.

So I loved it. I can't wait to read more of the series.

Laughable book about a bunch of brothers who watch each other get off with the same girl, Jaxi. Blake gets her v-card, though, and the fact that he 'forgets' to wear a condom immediately puts him on my 'to-never-be-redeemed' list. Especially when he asks her after the fact if she's on the pill. Uh, dumbass? She was a virgin. She was hardly prepared. Wrap your dick up!

Oh, but... Jaxi's cool if she gets pregnant, because all she's ever wanted is to have Blake's baby and anyway, she's so IN LUUURRRVVVE. Oh, so that's OK then, I suppose. So OK, in fact, that they have unprotected sex again. Is the guy a walking petri dish from his numerous past partners? Who cares! LOVE, y'all!

Dumb plot, horrible dialogue, unlikable characters. One star is generous.

3 1/2 stars (rounded down to 3 stars, because the second half of the story dragged a bit and lost focus, wandering through several secondary characters' shenanigans while Blake and Jaxi played the dating game)

Note: This book contains a ménage scene featuring Blake's brother Matt, his (Matt's) girlfriend Helen and their (Blake and Matt's) cousin Gabe. That had nothing to do with the story - in fact, neither Blake nor Jaxi even heard about it - so I'm still wondering what the point was. If it was for titillation, it didn't work for me.

Wonder why the Coleman's ranch called "Six Pack Ranch"?

It because they have 6 six pack HAWT cowboys :))(the image show just 4 hotties, hmm, never mind *waves hand*)

The story is about Jaxi, she is the closest friend of Coleman boys (there are 6 of them, Blake, Matt, Daniel, Travis, and the twins, Jesse and Joel). Jaxi dating Travis when she was 18 , but deep in her heart, she always want Blake, the oldest son, from the beginning. The problem was, Blake 10 years older than her, and he always threat her as his younger sister. Blake still like that after 3 years later when Jaxi turn 21, she is mature enough and it make she frustated. So, Jaxi planned to seduce him.

It's not that Blake don't want Jaxi. He want her, but age difference make him thinking twice to date her. When his stubborn act broke Jaxi's heart, Jaxi turn to Coleman's twins, and it's when Blake decided to "damn with age difference" and take action.

I read the second book Rocky Mountain Haven first, and forgot to read this, and because I want to read some cowboys story, why not?

The story is simple and easy to understand. I love Jaxi personalities, even she in her earlier twenties, she act mature (for her age) and she save her virginity for Blake, because she always want Blake from the beginning. Blake, oh, yes, so alpha, yet so stubborn too. There's a time I want to kick him or smack his head to make his move.

The love scene are steamy, there are sex scene on the dining table (you will not see the table the same way again, esp for Jaxi *LOL*), the erotic dance in the barn, but I love that this book is not just about sex. There's time when Blake resisted himself from making love with Jaxi and decided just to "woo"ing her (like take her to the movies, picnic, etc)

I already read 2 books in Six Pack Ranch (will re-read Rocky Mountain Haven after this) and I hope there will be more books about Coleman brothers :)

Clean version review.

I picked this book because I needed a similar read like Shine Not Burn. However, this book wasn't anything like it.

What I liked
Got a glimpse of romantic parents. Blake's parents.

The naughty twins Joel and Jesse are likable. They're easy going and have a good sense of humour.

Hot scene between Joel, Jesse, and Jaxi even though it was a mild ménage moment.

Travis appeared to be an asshole at first but I learnt something very dark about him which was interesting. I got the hint but I think I have to read his book if I wanted him to reveal so.

I liked another Coleman brother, Matt. He is a keeper and hopelessly romantic at that.

What I disliked
Too bad I didn't enjoy this book as much as I wanted. The book was pretty much ended at 50% to me. The rest... it was boring.

The romance was dull between Blake and Jaxi. I was kind of disappointed since these two are the main characters in this book.

I didn't get it why four of the brothers lusted over Jaxi. In my honest opinion, the idea that she used the three of them to get Blake is just absurd. Even though she denied it but sadly, it sounds like denial to me.

I hated that Matt was being played by Helen but his love for her made him blind.

Read on your own peril.

Book 1 in a series I will not be continuing, gives us 19-year-old heroine and 29-year-old hero (Blake Coleman). Blake, due to the age gap spends a fair bit of time denying his attraction to long-time family friend Jaxi, and then there is Jaxi who despite feeling Blake is her one true love dates his idiot brother 19-year-old brother (Travis). She also uses , the way in which this was depicted for me just didn’t work.

Also, the scene where Jaxi is so sick that Blake gives her ride home, just felt unbelievable. During the drive, where Jaxi is sick and feverish she unzips his pants to give him a hand job - all I could think was really? Then the author tries to write it off as big strong Blake had no choice – but he was neither injured, drunk or drugged.

There are six Coleman brothers and sadly they were not distinct characters but rather felt somewhat inter-changeable. There is a side plot with one of the brothers - Matt, and in all honesty it didn’t add anything good to the plot, it felt like he was being played big time by his girlfriend.

I love romance books, enjoy a good ménage and erotica book but this book just didn’t work. Overall, for me it was a bit of a hot mess, I couldn’t find myself believing in the romance or really enjoying the read, I continued reading to see if things would get better and they didn’t. I’ve read books by the author in the past and enjoyed them, but this book I didn’t.

I want to give a Big Thank you to Mariann at Belle's Book Bag for having this series on her blog. I enjoyed and loved reading Rocky Mountain Heat that I had to buy the second book ASAP. Vivian Arend knows how to write about love, friendship with a sexy alpha male cowboy.

Right away I adored Blake in the prologue. Jaxi is dating his younger brother Travis and he is a snot nose brat to her. While they are away at a rodeo she gets sick but Travis rather stay and party with his friends. Blake is sweet as he is the one to take care of her and brings her home. He just got sweeter while taking her home by gently cover her with a blanket. Blake had no problem punching Travis and telling him what a jerk he is.

I loved Blake’s character as he is your brooding, sweet, dirty talker, bit jealous, Alpha Male hero. They are ten years apart and he started noticing Jaxi since she was 18 and he was 28. He feels like he has no right to admire her as she has been a big part of his family since she was little. He has been scared to be around her all these years for fear on how he would react. Now time has passed and she is no longer the 18 year old he as admired. Now she is older and turned out to be a beautiful woman which he avoids her and is broody when ever around her. All it takes is for his twin brothers to flirt with her while playing pool and now he is going to court and woo her so she can see the real him.

Jaxi comes from a small family, she is the only child and parents worked a lot. The Coleman family took her in and treated her like one of their own. She automatically fell in love with Blake’s big family. All she wanted since she was little is to be a ranchers wife, Blake’s wife. She will do what ever it takes to get Blake to finally notice her as a woman and not the little girl running around in pigtails. Even if she has to go with the twins idea to flirt with them to make Blake jealous and open up his eyes that he wants her.

Blake and Jaxi chemistry is sweet and steamy right from the beginning. Later on their chemistry is a scorcher. I loved every moment when they were together. Their sexual encounters definitely burned up my e-reader. Many favorite sex scenes but oh my the kitchen scene with the peaches and the dining room table scene had me putting my head in the freezer. Vivian Arend is a master at writing some scorching but tasteful sex scenes.

I loved all the secondary characters even the mom and dad. Vivian Arend did an amazing job at having all the secondary characters in one book that never took away from Blake and Jaxi story. They just added more fun to the book and all have their own personality. There are 6 yummy brothers Blake, Daniel, Matt, the twins (Jesse and Joel) and Travis. Jesse and Joel are my favorites and look forward to their story.

Vivian Arend, Rocky Mountain Heat and The Six Pack Ranch series is not be missed. I look forward to reading the rest of this series and highly recommend Rocky Mountain Heat. Blake and Jaxi story is perfect and keeper for me that I will re-read again and again. Vivian Arend is now on my favorite author list that I will buy anything she writes.

Blake Coleman is fighting the same thing that he has been fighting for the past few years, his attraction to Jaxi. The girl who has literally grown up on his land and getting into the same scrapes as his all too ornery brothers. Something as changed now however – Jaxi is under his roof and she is playing a whole new ballgame and he is not sure he likes the rules, that is if he even knows what the rules are.

Jaxi the girl from the next ranch over to the Coleman's has always known what she wanted, there was never any doubt – she wanted Blake Coleman. There was a time she thought she was not old enough, experienced enough and all the other insecurities that comes with growing up. Times are a changing and she has grown up a bit, a whole lot if the Coleman brothers are any judge of how she looks – but her biggest feat is her confidence and with that comes the knowledge that she has pussyfooted around Blake long enough – she wants him and she is going to get him.

There is just one fly in that plan – or four to be honest and they are all Blake’s brothers and they all have some history with Jaxi.

This is my first outing with Ms. Arend and what a ride – ROCKY MOUNTAIN HEAT is the first book in the Six Pack Series and I am liking this alot.

The book is generally an introduction to the Six Pack ranch and the Coleman brother’s and this aspect was well done in my opinion. I knew the brothers, I laughed with them, I found out their idiosyncrasy and I wanted to knock them over the head when they acted like asses. There were other support cast to this book that stood out as well – with the way they made me laugh and gave up little secrets about everyone involved in this first book.

The main plot of the book however surround Jaxi, the girl with a single minded want that knows now is her time and she is prepared to take it. I didn’t really like Jaxi – but damn I have to respect that girl get up and go, she has some move on her.

Blake is typical man in charge wanting to the right thing – but when faced with the other possibility snaps –and snaps he does and I was holding on for that wicked ride.

As a first book in a series –this is a must read, Ms Arend covered all the bases, I hope we get little glimpses of Jaxi and Blake in future books as I would love to see how they fair out with a house full of brothers and all the angst that is left over from Jaxi and Blake getting together.

First off ~ Hello, beautiful drool-worthy cover. Where have you been all my life? **Fans self.** The down fall to owning a kindle and reading from it is that you miss all the fantasmic covers that are out there. And this is definitely one of them. **Wipes drool off chin.

Okay, now that I've somewhat contained my raging ovaries, I'll try to put on my big girl panties long enough to write a review.

I won Rocky Mountain Heat in a giveaway and I will be buying the rest of this series. Thank you to the giveaway gods for sending this little goodie my way!

Jaxi has always known what she has wanted in life--to be a rancher's wife. She has even taken classes to help her in this role. Although her eyes and heart are focused on the sexy and much older Blake Coleman, she knows he will never see her as anything but a child.

Jaxi is determined to show Blake that she is no longer that little girl-but a strong woman who can stand beside him, love him, and help him with the ranch.

Blake is just as determined to keep his thoughts off of Jaxi and tries to steer clear of her at all times. Something he finds very hard when Jaxi sets her mind to teasing the poor man into giving in to her sexy ways.

What I loved about this book was the fact that although there were really strong sexual feelings between Jaxi and Blake, the two lovers put sex aside to see if what they had was more than just...well..sex.

Blake wanted to woo her, charm her, and learn about the woman who knocked his boots off. To make sure that what they both felt was real and not the illusion of love--even though Jaci drives him crazy in the process. (And make for a very comical read, lol).

There is also a secondary story that I'm hoping will get its own HEA. It involves Blake's brother Matt. His story is not so happy in Rocky Mountain Heat and he's involved with a bitch of a woman who can't see how lucky she is. I'm crossing my fingers that Arend hooks him up with a woman just as strong as Jaxi.

Rocky Mountain Heat is packed with sexy cowboys, erotic lap-dancing and an interesting take on a game of pool. It also has a set of twins who charmed their way into my heart with their silly antics and I can't wait to see what Arend has in store for them.

IF YOU'VE READ THIS BEFORE, THIS IS NOT THE ORIGINAL VERSION, this is an expanded version now published by Samhain, and it has even more of the sexy Coleman siblings in it. I read the first version a year ago and LOVED it, I LOVE this one even more.

I FELL in LOVE with the Six Pack Ranch series, August 17, 2010 (I looked the date up on my kindle). I saw there was a second novella, Rocky Mountain Haven and bought it right away. A couple of weeks later a friend told me she went to get the 1st book and it was no longer available. I emailed Vivian Arend to ask about the first book and when the rest of the brother's stories were coming out, she told me that the series was going to be picked up by another publisher and re-released, but the books would be longer. I WAS SO FREAKING excited!! I've been waiting for what seems forever to get my hands on this new version of RMH and it did not disappoint. If you love books about smokin' hot cowboys and their families you must try Six Pack Ranch (and if you know me, you know that I LOVE sexy Cowboy stories!!!)

An accidental re-read, but since it was back in 2012, I didn't remember it, and neither did Amazon.

I'll keep the 4-stars from back then, but today I'd probably grade harder. It was a cute story, but why is it that big strong cowboys think they can't have what they want? It gets tiring after a while. However the middle section was pretty good, and there was plenty of time spent with the brothers to support the future stories. The ending was a bit too sweet, but the HEA was assured.

3.5 Stars

I read the re-released version which from quickly scanning through some reviews looks to be better than the original version.

I did have a few niggles and the main one was how Jaxi finally convinced Blake to make his move! I think the flirting with his brothers to make Blake jealous went a bit too far especially when she allowed one of the brothers to put his hand up her dress!
