I received this book from the author herself. I must say this series is really shaping up to be an extremely good series. I liked how though the story is still basically set on Sora the dhampire mage. But yet it gives us more on other characters such as. viv and Jackson though their part was slightly lackluster, they could’ve played coy a little longer for my liking. But neither here nor there, continuing on we met Natalie a young mage from the LA clutch.

This brings another side of the story, won’t go into details much on here because if do it would bring spoilers. And I’m not about spoilers. But along with Natalie we’re also introduced to a five year old shifter pup named Bex, cutest thing ever!!

So not only do you have Sora bringing all factions together vampires, shifters, the human ilk of the clutch. You also get to have more revealed on the mages side as well.

The best part of this book is that it’s easy to get into and easy to read. And you get different characters POVs. You also get to know the nitty gritty of how one feels while they’re going through the motions of things. Makes it more livid in the imagination when you’re reading these.

Love the series soo far ,but...

I love the series soo far,but I do have a few things that are getting on my last nerve at times...
One, Viv, she's not a bad character per say, but I gotta say her type of personality is one of my biggest pet peeves at time character wise in a story....
I really, really don't like the snarky, hot headed type, that shoots their mouth off 1st followed by their temper and then thinks later..
Her behavior with Zane was just down right stupid, nothing all that bad happened but she'd already been warned of a few things(their aren't many female vamps, and the the L.A. clutch had none, and vampire or not attempting to get blind drunk alone w/a stranger is just plain STUPID..... shakes head..
I also don't like how she doesn't volunteer information about her self, doesn't really ask questions about others, and then when someone says something wrong she just gets pissed and jumps to conclusions, classic stupid stubborn h behavior and it's not fun or enjoyable to watch idiots like her bounce from one problem o another just because their precious tempers are more important that taking a moment to let common sense prevail ...
BS!
Two what was equally a lot of BS! Is how frustratingly passive and inept the males seem to be, O don't get me wrong I adore Blaze ,
(But ok seriously ? Blaze the vampire ? A creature that will turn into a fiery blaze right before he becomes a small pile of ash? And you name him Blaze ?!?!? Aaaaaaaaaa,ok) moving on,
These passive are loving and supportive (Jackson is more growly than any things else but ok) but I don't like how passive they are with the women and how the women seem to lead the show ,the seem to "think" at times they are in charge but just barely ...
And while I don't want a man soo macho and alpha he just sweeps in and takes over and acts like she's just there to sit and be pretty, these men look weak to me, Ppl may defer to Blaze at times but Sora is in charge and everybody knows it and Blaze just seems to trail behind her like her lil vampiric puppy and while I myself have a rather strong and sometimes dominant personality,I neither want to live or read about female led relationships...
I adore Sora but her and especially Viv lead their mates around by the nose, Viv really pissed me off on this ,sure like his brother Jackson was incredibly incompetent in getting close to his mate (ok, Blaze was completely smooth natural compared to Jackson)
But as incompetent is Jackson was Viv didn't even try to understand, and it wasn't fun in the slightest to read...
I just wanted to smack them both...
O, let's even get started how truly submissive "Alpha" Mel is to Sora and his possible future mate.... Ugh, it's just sad to watch..
I know it doesn't sound like it but I'm loving this series even if d over have the drama and conflict soo far in just about even freakin front is because these knuckle headed ppl can't be bothered to stop and communicate openly and honestly for five damn minutes...
Thirdly, descriptions...
They lack, females in the lead here as well, I feel like I have a good feel for what the women look like especially Sora ( of course) and her uber snarky beyotch bestie Viv and the others but the men ? Maybe I need to just google some pics for them but they faces and looks are was as weak as their alphaness in comparison with the women.....
Sorry if that sounded too harsh but as much as I'm loving this,I soo needed to get that off my chest ...
I'd highly recommend this series, but just hope none of this bothers you as well ;)
Thank you...
Can't wait to read more...

Amazing

This is continuing to be a great journey. She has a lot to lives up to bring the chosen. I like how they are uniting with her instead of fighting. Poor blaze he has to take a backseat to his more powerful mate. I think he felt helpless most of the time.

Allied Mage is full intrigue that holds your attention. As new allies are gained, the Council is still out to get Sora. Loving the series so far, and can't wait for the next book.

It picks up immediately where Vampire Mage left off and takes you further into Peel's world. Allied Mage introduces new and interesting characters. It is also full of plot twists you'll never see coming. Peel's eloquence has you feeling like you are apart of the story, there witnessing it with your own two eyes. Careful that you have plenty of spare time to read as this one has a hell of a cliffhanger that will make putting your ereader down almost impossible!

Sora flourishes in her powers

Started this series with the first book free and by the time I got done with it I was already hooked and purchased this one immediately. Glad I did because it was another great read. I'm in LOVE with this series. In this book Jackson and Viv finally get over their nonsense and mate. Master Zane is not who he appears to be. Someone else finds their mate while someone else loses theirs. A new member is welcomed to the clutch and the dangers to the clutch increase along with an impending war.

Very action packed - wow! So many things happened in this 2nd book - you'll need to read the first book for more detailed information on where this book is going. This super natural world with vampires, mages, wolf shifters, cat shifters with good and bad on each side. Watching Sora come into her unique powers as the Goddesses' "Chosen" is fascinating. I love how she is bringing everyone together. The friendships and couples coming together as "Mates" has been interesting to watch with the head strong characters involved. This book comes with sadness, victories, surprise, cuteness, and changes everywhere - a lot of action. It ends in a cliffhanger. There are HEAs and more coming. Overall this novel kept me completely enchanted and I can't wait to see where the storyline takes me.

I downloaded Allied Mage as a free book from Amazon. I really enjoyed book one, Vampire Mage, but I'm not as fond of the way Sora is outgrowing Blaze's character (as far as development), as I prefer partnership stories with two strong protagonists--a personal preference, I realize other's may not feel the same way. There were odd/incorrect phrases (i.e. naked as a jailbird should be 'jaybird'- there was another, but I didn't highlight it when reading), which makes a reader pause. Books ends with unresolved threads, but the cliffhanger is at a good spot.

The Plot Thickens

Talk about a large family to be mistress of! Sora’s power is growing and as her power grows the number of people, vampires, and shifters she feels responsible for grows larger as well. It appears that there is going to be a coming war between good and evil coming up in the future. A good enough reason to read this book and the others in this series.

It's ok

I am really not a fan of multiple POVs. I tried to get past it but they are not even in the same format-some are 1st person, others are 3rd. It's frustrating and jarring to the story.

The world of magic, vampires, shifters, and the one dampher mage is continued very nicely in the second of series book. The characters have increased, but it has not affected the quality of the intimacy you feel with them.

Such a great follow up to the first novel! Sora's powers continue to evolve and the clutch gains new allies. Each character is well developed and we see the different personalities of each main character grow from their own perspective. I can't wait to see where the next novel takes Sora, Blaze and the others.

Good book.

I have enjoyed the first two books. I don't like the reference to a Goddess that is made very often, but the plot is good.

4 They Are Mine Stars

Allied Mage is the continuation of Janelle Peel’s A Clutch Mistress series, and a deeper insight into the mysterious Sora and those she considers hers.

This book delves further into all that is the San Diego Clutch and intersecting politics of the supernaturals that dwell there. Outside of the beautiful mating of Sora and Blaze, Viv’s love life blossoms as well with a surprising addition to the mix. Due to a scuffle between multiple parties and interesting new antagonists there are many new additions to their family. It’s beautiful seeing so many different people/beings come together harmoniously (almost). The Goddess’ light shines on Sora, as her Chosen, with this book showcasing many more of her talents. They implications are frightening, and leave many questions to be answered.

With all that we discover in this book, will those on opposing sides be able to come to an agreement? Will Sora be able to survive under the weight of her new responsibilities and the Goddess’ path for her?

One discrepancy I had with this book, especially with Sora’s strengths and personality in Vampire Mage, was how whiny she seemed in a few places. She always snapped out of her pity party, but I didn’t think these moments stood in line with what she’s shown us in the past. I’m interested in discovering more from Daisy and how her character will develop. As well, if we will see more from the likes of Zane. I have high hopes for Mel and his pack, also.

I would like to thank the author for this amazing writing, and wonderful world she created here. It makes me smile when more of her world-building comes to life before my eyes. With all the beautiful colors, and the way they incorporate into the magic and story itself.
