بستغرب دايماً لما بلاقي رجل بيفهم الستات..مش عشان إحنا صعبين..لأ ،لا سمح الله..:) بس عشان النوع دة من الرجالة بيكون نادر جداً ومش موجود كتير..

للمرة التانية علي التوالي ،بعد ٢٤ ساعة في حياة إمرأة إستطاع زفايغ أن يُبهرني..
الخوف..رواية قصيرة عن إمرأة تخون زوجها..
بإسلوب سرد ممتع جداً وببراعة فائقة إستطاع زفايغ الدخول في أعماق هذه الزوجة ..
زفايغ مش بس قدر يوصف كل ما تشعر به من خجل و خوف ورعب كإنه دكتور نفسي ..لأ دة كمان قدر ينقل لي كل هذا التوتر خلال قراءة هذه النوڤيلا الممتعة وجعلني أتعاطف معاها جداً علي الرغم إنها غلطانة..
أن يستطيع رجل أن يحلل المرأة بهذه الطريقة ويوصف ما تعانيه بهذه البراعة وفي ٨٠ صفحة فقط..لا يقال عنه غير إنه حقيقي عبقري...

Fear by Stefan Zweig
Sometimes a momentary recklessness is enough for a fall. In this novella, a wife was cheating on her husband. And when she was blackmailed by a woman about it, her life became an ordeal. Whenever she left her house, this fear crushed her. Her perception became delusionally veiled with fear and guilt. With great brilliance, Stefan Zweig had written the psychological depths of his characters.
Suspenseful.

With great brilliance, Stefan Zweig had written the psychological depths of his characters.
That fear was worse than the punishment, which after all is something definite, and whether it’s hard on her or not, it’s still better than the terrible uncertainty and cruel suspense she was feeling earlier.
Suspenseful.

كيف تجمع بين التعاليم المسيحية والتحليل النفسي (فرويد تحديداً) وعالم ميلان كونديرا المبني على الصدفة في رواية قصيرة تأخذك بتفاصيلها الى عالم دوستوفسكي وبقصرها الى عالم تشيخوف.. الجواب بسيط: ستيفان زفاييج!
- المرأة من جديد، قصة اخرى من قصص زفاييج وموضعها الخيانة ايضاً! هذا جوهرها بالإضافة الى ثيمات جانبية اخرى سيأتي الحديث عنها.
- القصة قصة امرأة اخطأت فخانت زوجها، الدافع ليس العشق والوله بل الملل والفراغ والتوق الى فتح الباب المغلق الوحيد في حياتها البرجوازية!.. ثم تنفضح امام عشيقة مفترضة لعشيقها وتبدأ رحلة الخوف من الفضيحة الكبرى (امام عائلتها ومجتمعها)!
- يبدأ الصراع النفسي عند المرأة، خوفها من الفضيحة وتضييع حياتها وبيتها وسمعتها، وخوفها من المبتزة التي بدأت بنهبها، يشتعل اللهيب بداخلها ويبدأ بالظهور على وجهها وتصرفاتها وكلامها... الى ان تقرر الإنتحار وانهاء هذا العذاب وتجنّب الفضيحة وعقاب زوجها لها.
- الزوج، صاحب فكرة المبتزة، جعله زفاييج مدركاً وعارفاً للخيانة بالصدفة، وجعل منه قديساً او انساناً يقدر على مسامحة زوجته الخائنة (ومن منكم بدون خطيئة فليرجمها بأول حجر!).. لكنه جعل منه ايضاً معذباً لها لتكفّر عن خطأها وتعود الى صوابها، فكان عذابها كفارتها وطريق خلاصها.
- زفاييج يعرج على الفراغ في المجتمع البرجوازي ايضاً، على العلاقات السطحية الساذجة التي تربط بين افراد العائلة الواحدة وافراد تلك الطبقة، عن الفراغ العاطفي والعيش المخملي الخدّاع.
- قصة نفسية بإمتياز، نقطة غموضها كانت ذكية للوصول للخاتمة السعيدة رغم انها غير واقعية وافلاطونية جداً!
- المرأة من جديد، قصة اخرى من قصص زفاييج وموضعها الخيانة ايضاً! هذا جوهرها بالإضافة الى ثيمات جانبية اخرى سيأتي الحديث عنها.

Coming Out of the Proto-Feminist Closet
Zweig was a close friend and confidant of Sigmund Freud. And this little novella is clearly influenced by psycho-analytic theory. However it suggests to me at least a nod to the concepts of Carl Jung in its development and resolution.
Who is this Frau Irene Wagner really? Merely a bourgeois socialite, a Mme Bovary, who decides to engage in a little adultery out of boredom with her established matronly routine? A hedonist pushing for that extra frisson of pleasure? A neurotic housewife trying to escape the horrible fate of relationships without apparent meaning? Or perhaps just a selfish bitch? What fundamental motivation lies behind her behaviour?
If nothing else, Frau Wagner is certainly what Carl Jung termed an Objective Introvert. She lives mainly in her own head as indicated by the scarcity of dialogue throughout. But almost nothing exists in that head of her own making. She is defined by the views of the people she is with, her ‘set’, those others who have apparent regard for her, and particularly by her husband. She moulds herself to this society, as she does to her family’s expectations of her. Even her children can command that she not deviate from their expectations for their care-taking.
Woe to the Objective Introvert who intuitively can see the limits of their own psychology. The only thing they can do to, as it were, broaden their perspective on life is to expose themselves to contradictory external demands. If they are within a sedate, stable society, they purposely but unconsciously seek out passion and danger as a corrective environment. Their life then, of course, becomes miserable, not because of the passion and danger but because of the radical conflict in the demands upon their personality.
Frau Wagner, therefore, becomes dissociated into two separate selves, so that “All that had passed and been forgotten was no longer her crime at all, but that of another woman whom she could not herself understand and whose mind she could no longer even enter into.” In fact each aspect of her personality feels guilt about the other. Whether she turns to her husband or her lover for solace she will be judged inadequate.
Like all of us, according to Jung, Frau Wagner wants to have her psychological cake and eat it. She wants what the Jungians call ‘integration’, that is, the acceptance of both parts of herself into a coherent whole. She in fact wants to be ‘found out’ and thus healed: “Deep inside her she longed for what she had hitherto been afraid of: the lightning flash of redemption that would come when she was caught.”
The only resolution to this fracture in the self appears to be annihilation of both aspects of her personality, “She considered all routes to death that she was familiar with, weighing up legion possibilities of self destruction, before she suddenly recollected with a kind of joyous terror that the doctor, on account of her insomnia during a painful illness, had prescribed morphine.” The internal contradiction is simply overwhelming.
But the solution isn’t actually in her hands. It is the environment that has to change to accommodate her. This is precisely what happens. While I find his resolution a bit too much deus ex machina and abrupt, I am not entirely dissatisfied with Zweig’s resolution of Frau Wagner’s dilemma. She has at least learned that it is not she who is always required to adapt to the demands of the world.

ZWEIG!!!
this is my second dip in the zweig pool, and i'm pretty much sold. i do wish someone would publish a volume of his collected works so i don't have to keep buying these tiny, albeit beautiful, pushkin press editions. they can be read in the time it takes to eat a box of crackers. and then you are left with no crackers and no more book. and that is a heavy-souled feeling.
ya know what is also a heavy-souled feeling?? the guilt of infidelity. a seamless transition into the book by ms. brissette (2 points). bored by a "perfect" life into an equally boring affair, and then blackmailed by the ex-lover of her current lover, irene experiences fear. seamless name-drop of title (4 points). what follows is 100 pages of slow psychological breakdown as she pays off her blackmailer and fears exposure. overcome by angst (mention of the german title: 5 points), she contemplates suicide (naturally; it is zweig, after all) and homicide as she tries to find a way out of the hole she has dug herself into.
there is the usual poking at the bourgeoisie, and an ending that i half-expected, but it was completely satisfying. zweig does character so well - all the false starts and crazy notions and deliberations of this woman are crystallized into impressive and taut prose that makes the story more of a thriller than you would expect considering that it is mostly hand-wringing consciousness of her burning secret (name drop of another zweig book: 5 points), and not the big explosions of a more modern thriller.
i have earned many points here tonight.

“El miedo es peor que el castigo, porque éste es algo determinado y, por severo que sea, no se puede comparará con el temor que despierta en nosotros lo incierto, una tensión espantosa, que no conoce límite.”Si en el último libro que he leído de Zweig, Ardiente secreto, expresaba mi decepción por su edulcorado y moralizante final, este tiene en su desenlace uno de sus grandes atractivos, y todavía podría haber sido más de mi gusto si la intención de ese final hubiera sido otra (no puedo ser más explícito, no quiero desvelar nada).
El caso es que estamos de nuevo a vueltas con el adulterio, esta vez desde la perspectiva del chantaje del que la mujer es objeto. Toda la novela es una escalada continua y angustiosa por una montaña de miedo, culpa y remordimiento que parece que no tenga otra cima posible que un profundo y mortal precipicio. Guardando las muchas distancias, las sensaciones que he sentido me han recordado mucho a lo que me provocó la lectura de Extraños en un tren, de Patricia Highsmith, la historia de otro chantaje.
Ochenta páginas le son suficientes al autor para hacernos vivir junto a Irene todo su miedo, todo su dolor, todo su arrepentimiento por una relación que empezó de forma banal y que puede acabar con toda una vida feliz al lado de su marido y sus hijos. No hay en esta historia ninguna pasión irresistible o amor imposible, no hay una vida de hastío o maltrato insoportable, no hay últimas oportunidades ni añoranzas de sentimientos. Quizás solo le movió la curiosidad o las delicias de un riesgo que removiera las aguas de su tranquila y satisfactoria vida. Nada comparado a lo que ahora está en juego.
“Nada en ella, ni el ardor de la sangre, apaciguado por una feliz vida conyugal, ni la necesidad tan común en las mujeres de buscar satisfacción para sus intereses espirituales, la había impulsado a buscarse un amante, era absolutamente feliz al lado de su esposo, un hombre acaudalado, superior a ella en el plano intelectual, con dos hijos, sin ninguna preocupación, satisfecha de poder disfrutar de una vida acomodada, plenamente burguesa, apacible y sin sobresaltos. Sin embargo, en ocasiones, un ambiente agradable y relajado excita la sensualidad más que el bochorno o la tormenta, una existencia dichosa y equilibrada puede ser un acicate más eficaz que la desdicha y, para muchas mujeres, la falta de deseo resulta tan fatídica como la insatisfacción o la desesperanza... Irene sintió que aquel engañoso bienestar de algún modo la alejaba de la vida real.”Esta novela está con todo el merecimiento del mundo entre las grandes obras del autor.

It seems there is an inexhaustible supply of writers who devote their literary powers to investigate the deepest recesses of the minds and souls of respectable married women cheating on their dear husbands, taking on lovers, or simply committing adultery.
The names are well-known, be it Anna Karenina or Madame Bovary or others, so let's just say that the persona of an unfaithful woman provided (and still provides) perhaps the best vantage point from which to observe the follies of human society amid all its complacence and contradictions on full display, and also because of that inscrutable, inexpressible, ineffable fascination with female sex which does not get replicated for its male counterpart.
Either by conditioning or by instinct, to this modern day readers grab books that promise another story of transgressive women in the throes of passion, and in the process become the cause of their own ruination and those related to them, destroying the tender fabric from which social life is knitted and families are formed.
Even though I have read only two novels, I think of Stefan Zweig as one of the finest writers to explore with great éclat the deep psychological multiverse of his characters, the gaping hole of the self, the hidden iceberg of human emotions, in a measured prose wherein the apparent complements the hidden (and vice versa) in a flowing stream of words that makes it hard for the reader to put the book down.
And so, here too, Zweig explores the inner workings of the mind of one Irene Wagner, who takes on a lover without there being a pressing need, without an emotional hole to fill. Her perfectly happy marital life is not an impediment for her seeking "extra happiness," so if a reader is looking to make pop psychological connections about Irene's transgressions, she'll have none! Irene is bored and she wants to experience the adventure of the verboten. As simple as that. But then fear strikes soon, and everything threatens to come crumbling down. She isn't the angry, raving, intrepid, couldn't-care-less heroine of the latter-day literature, a template that gets repeated in fictions with a feminist label; she is an ordinary woman who fears for her secret to be out in the open.
Zweig has a flair for theatrics, and there's a good helping of the same in the story. Aside from this he's employed - I would say - a cheap plot device to resolve the conflict in the end. It's fine if it's done to solve some minor plot issues, or to give credence to a character's thoughts and actions but in this case it is as though he's opted for an easy way out of Irene's conundrum and resolved the tension simply by an awe-inspiring revelation. I think it does not behoove a writer of Zweig's calibre to succumb to this weakness, and this is my biggest criticism of the novella.
All in all a fine piece of writing full of drama, excitement, passion - and a lot of fear.

The names are well-known, be it Anna Karenina or Madame Bovary or others, so let's just say that the persona of an unfaithful woman provided (and still provides) perhaps the best vantage point from which to observe the follies of human society amid all its complacence and contradictions on full display, and also because of that inscrutable, inexpressible, ineffable fascination with female sex which does not get replicated for its male counterpart.
Either by conditioning or by instinct, to this modern day readers grab books that promise another story of transgressive women in the throes of passion, and in the process become the cause of their own ruination and those related to them, destroying the tender fabric from which social life is knitted and families are formed.
Even though I have read only two novels, I think of Stefan Zweig as one of the finest writers to explore with great éclat the deep psychological multiverse of his characters, the gaping hole of the self, the hidden iceberg of human emotions, in a measured prose wherein the apparent complements the hidden (and vice versa) in a flowing stream of words that makes it hard for the reader to put the book down.
And so, here too, Zweig explores the inner workings of the mind of one Irene Wagner, who takes on a lover without there being a pressing need, without an emotional hole to fill. Her perfectly happy marital life is not an impediment for her seeking "extra happiness," so if a reader is looking to make pop psychological connections about Irene's transgressions, she'll have none! لقد استراحت منذ أن عوقبت حتي وإن بدا هذا مرًا، بالأمس كانت شقية.
الخوف أشد من العقوبة، لأن العقوبة محددة دائمًا مهما كانت خطورتها.
إنها حكاية مكررة ومملة أحيانا عن الانبهار بالمحظور والانسياق إلي المأساة
عن امرأة ملت حياة الاستقراطية الرتيبة وهرعت للقيام بمغامرة للهرب مما ظنته سجنها
لكنها تفاجأت بسجن أشد أغلالا،أغلالاه الرعب والخوف من الفضيحة وغذاءه التلميحات والنظرات
هي قصة بسيطة لكن سحر زيفاغ يكمن في التفاصيل، تفاصيل الرعب والماسأة، النظرة رعب، الحركة رعب
عن ماسأة الإنسان حين يلقي بنفسه في سجن من أفعاله نتيجة لفشله في اكتساب خبرات السابقين
يدعي الإنسان دوما تطوره، لكن كيف ومتي حدث ذلك وهو يكرر أخطاء أجداده ويلقي نفس مصائرهم دون أن يتعظ
ليكتشف في النهاية أن أجداده وصلوا لنفس النتيجة بعد أن ارتكبوا نفس الأخطاء التي ارتكبها أجدادهم
"ولكنها كانت مجبرة علي الترقب الفظيع غير منقطع النظير الذي يستمر إلي مالا نهاية، بشكل رهيب
ما إن عرفت عقوبتها، شملها ارتياح. ينبغي ألاتكون دموعها مخطئة، الآن فقط تنهال، ولكنها قبل ذلك كانت تتراكم بداخلها وهي أكثر إيلاما
.. ما أن نسبر غورها، فسنكتشف في رأيي أنها مسرورة في الواقع، رغم العقوبة والدموع

كم من الصعب أن تقضي ساعة من حياتك في خوف و ترقب لما سيحدث ، تخلق الاحتمالات و تعيش دهراً في كل احتمال ، و ترجو أن ما سيحدث هو أسهل الاحتمالات وقعاً ، و ترتعب من وقوع أبشع الاحتمالات حِملاً ، في مجرد ساعة تعيش فيها عذابا سرمدياً لوطئة عقولنا التي من فطرتها ألّا تتوقف أبدا عن التفكير ، لاسيما إن كان هذا خطأَك و قد يؤدي إلي خسارة حياتك - التي صرت تقدسها و تدرك قيمتها الآن - كلها.

now ... I'm just freestyling ;)
قرأت هذه القصة منذ فترة طويلة، وأردت إضافتها الآن ولا أعلم صراحة إذا كنت سأكتب مراجعة أم لا؟ فلكتابة المراجعة أحتاج إلى العودة للاقتباسات، والإقتباسات موجودة على اللابتوب، واللابتوب الخاص بي توفي منذ فترة (أستقبل عزاءكم الآن لا مشكلة، ولابتوباتكم كتعويض لا مشكلة أيضا 😂) . إذا فإمكانية الرجوع للإقتباسات الآن غير ممكنة، ولذلك لا أعرف ماذا سأكتب ولا ما سأقول .. كل ما يمكنني فعله هو الكتابة على أنني متردّد في الكتابة، والكتابة عن أسباب هذا التردد طبعا.
أذكر أنّ بطل هذه القصة إمرأة، وفي الجملة السابقة لنضع خط تحت أو فوق (على حسب توجهاتكم وهذه مسألة أخرى نناقشها فيما بعد إذا أردتم) كلمة "أذكر" وكلمة "إمرأة" وسأخبركم عن ماهية هذه الخطوط.
بالنسبة لكلمة "أذكر" فصراحة عندما تعصف بالإنسان العواصف وتتداخل الأمور فتشتّته كليا وتفقده تركيزه تصبح عملية التذكر عسيرة وجدّ صعبة، ولهذا حاليا أحاول وأحاول تذكر أحداث القصة فتظهر جزئية وتغيب عني العشرات. 😁
أما بالنسبة لكلمة "إمرأة" فببساطة لأن صديقي زفاينج (صديقي بحكم أنني قرأت له كثيرا) دائما ما يكتب عن المرأة في أعماله، وأنا أحب القراءة له والقراءة عن المرأة لأفهمها، وهنا أضع خمسمئة وستة وسبعون خط تحت أفهمها، لأنّني مهما قرأت عنها فلن أفهم شيء عنها .. وكلما قرأت كلّما زاد فشلي في فهم هذا الكائن الغريب من وجهة نظري.
أمر آخر أنا متأكد منه وهو أن موضوع القصة هو الخيانة، لابد أن يكون هذا هو الموضوع، والخيانة عند زفاينج موضوع محبب للكتابة، ولذلك لابد أن القصة أعجبتني (أتلاحظون أنني لا أذكر حتى رأيي في القصة) ولابد أنني استمتعت بقراءة هذا العمل، لست متأكد جدا من هذا، لذلك تحملوني رجاء لحين عودة الذاكرة .. وشكرا 😁

ما الذي يجعل مرأة تمتلك كل شيء يوفر لها راحتها ورفاهيتها تخاطر لعيش علاقة عابرة مع رجل لا تحبه حتى بكونها زوجة لمحامي ثري
ويحسن معاملتها وتعيش مرتاحة بكل النواحي مع اطفالها ؟
"الشبع يمكن أن يكون تحريضًا بقدر ما يكون الجوع لخوض مغامرة خطيرة."
إيرين زوجة أحد أشهر المحامين في المدينة , لديها طفلان جميلان ومنزل جميل , تعيش حياة برجوازية مريحة تمامًا من الطبقة الوسطى.
حياتها هادئة للغاية لا تختلف عن البطلات المشهورات الأخريات مثل إيما بوفاري ، أو إيلين فير
هؤلاء البطلات يشتركن في العيش بعالم الملل والبذخ بالنسبة لهن , البذخ المريح الممل الذي يتشوق لعيش شغف جديد ومثير.
تصبح هذه المخاطرة والمغامرة لعبة خطيرة بالنسبة لإيرين.
هناك امرأة تنتظر في ايرين خارج شقة عشيقها الذي لا تحبه أصلا
إنها تعرف اسم إيرين وزوجها وكنيتها!
الخطر الذي يهدد وجودها البرجوازي واضح الآن
في غمضة عين يمكن أن تفقد الحياة المريحة التي تعيشها وزوجها واطفالها وخادماتها!
تقول لها المرأة : تريدين ان تسرقي حبيبي ؟ انتي احدى النساء الغنيات المغرورات اللاتي يعشن نزوة العلاقات الخفية بعيدا عن عائلتها لتسرق عشيقي الفتيات الفقيرات التعسات امثالي ؟
وهكذا تبدأ رحلة الإبتزاز و المطالبة بالمال, إيرين تصبح تحت رحمة مبتزتها.
إيرين تدرك مدى عدم معرفتها لزوجها وفهم مشاعره.
على الرغم من سنواتهم الحميمية معًا ، فهي لا تستطيع تخيل ردة فعل زوجها على خيانتها له
كانت مجرد فكرة المغامرة هي التي جذبتها إلى الضلال. مثل الشيطان الذي يجلس على كتفها و يوز في عقلها
الرواية مزيج من الكآبة المجهدة والمرهقة في تحليل مشاعر إيرين وخوفها وطريقة تصرفها الذي يقوده الخوف
الكتاب عبارة عن قراءة نفسية وقصيرة
ستيفان زفينج أحد رواد الموجة الأخيرة من الأدب الألماني الذي تأثر بشدة بعلم النفس والتحليل النفسي.

هنا امرأة تنتمي للطبقة البرجوازية المرفهة يتملكها الخوف من كشف خيانتها لزوجها ، يتربص بها مهيمناً عليها مُلاحقاً لها بصورة كابوسية مروعة ...
بالرغم من انني كقارئة قد اكون مطالبة بإقصاء مواضع الإدانة من عقلي عند قراءة أي عمل أدبي ، وأن لا اتعمد اصدار احكام اخلاقية دون النظر الى طبيعة الشخصيات ودوافعها....لكنني لم استطع تقبل صفح الزوج ومسامحته لخيانة زوجته ، وهو رجل القانون صاحب الرؤية الصارمة الرصينة، لم يكن ليغفر لها جرمها أبداً...، كما انه جاء على لسانه....

هل من الطبيعي بجد اني اكون متعاطفة مع خائنة؟؟
ما الذي يدفع لأمرأة تعيش حياة هادئة، مرفّهة بجانب زوج ثري ّ، وطفلين أن تخون؟
كانت لديها الجرأة فقط حين توقف السّيارة في عطْفة الشارع دون أن ترفع عينيها وتهرّع إلى شقة المغامرة، شقة عشيقها .
ولكن عند الإنصراف يغدو عندئذٍ الشئ الوحيد الذي ترغب فيه بكلّ كيانها، أن تغادر تلك الشقة، وأن تهرب من المغامرة ... وتستعيد هدوء عالمها البرجوازي.
حاولت ايرين تبرير الخطيئة، ودة بيكون أسوأ من الإعتراف بيها أو كشفها، تقول إيرين آنها لم تهو رجلاً بل هوت المغامرة .. وان زوجها أيضاً مذنب لإنه بالغ الطيبة! مرفراً لها الحياة البرجوازية المرفهة ..
تبرير ايرين لنفسها كان بالنسبة ليا زي مَثل كدة "ملقوش فيه عيب قالوله يا احمر الخدين"
الرواية سردها ممتع جداً فيها مشاعر عميقة جداً و ستيفان زفايغ قدر يوصلها وشعرت للحظة أن المشاعر دي جوايا انا
-خوف، رعب، خجل، توتر - مشاعر تتملكنا جميعاً كل يوم وكل ساعة و كل دقيقة ...
دي تاني رواية اقراها ل ستيفان زفايغ بعد لعبة الشطرنج واعتقد اني همشي في طريق عظمة رواياته الفترة القادمة🤍

I felt the inner turmoil of Irene, the married bourgeois wife and mother of two who was being blackmailed by her lover's former mistress.
I couldn't help but read this novella through a feminist lens.
Irene has similar feelings of discontentment to a lot of the literary heroines who lived before our more emancipated times and felt trapped in their lives: Irene certainly feels trapped in her marriage and this leads her to having an affair with a young talented pianist. Irene has everything society deems she could possibly want, yet she still feels suppressed. In fact she rues the fact that she is living in the lap of luxury and wants for nothing:
"A sense of temperate happiness can be more provocative than outright unhappiness...Satiety can be as much of an incitement as hunger."
A quick read. Highly recommended.

إن كان لمشاعرنا الإنسانية أصلٌ يساعدنا على تجسيد هذه المشاعر، فسيكون لشعور الخوف أصلٌ جحيميّ، نتوقف إزاءه دهورًا مديدة، مشدوهين مرتجفين من اللحظة التي انتزعتْ منّا نعيم الأمان، فالخوف سجنٌ يجعلنا نتمنى حدوثَ العقوبة، لأن العقوبة لها أمدٌ لا ترتدّ عنه، أمّا الخوف، فلا قرار لهاويته السحيقة.
في صفحات قصيرة كوّن زڤايج عالمًا مظلمًا من شباك الخوف والتردد، روايةٌ قصيرةٌ عُنْوِنَت بعنوان بسيط يشي أن الخوف هو البطل الرئيس في الأحداث، والخوف هنا كان خوفًا له مرارتان؛ مرارةُ الفقد ومرارة خذلان أقرب الناس إلينا.
إن زڤايج يبرع براعةً سلسةً في رسم الشخصيات حتى يعجز القارئ عن فصل نفسه عن الأحداث، فالأحداث لا تتحدث بلغة متصاعدة عن دراما تلهب الأنفاس، بل هي حكايةٌ أقرب ما تكون إلى الحكايات اليومية العادية التي نسمعها في أحاديث النميمة في أي مكان، ولكنّ الكاتب هنا يصنع عالمًا يتجرّد من عناصر الرواية ويركز على الشعور وصاحب الشعور، إنّ التحدث عن أدب زڤايج يجعلنا ننسى السرد والحوار والوصف واللغة البلاغية وهذه المصطلحات الروسمية، إنّ الأمر هنا كصناعة السينما، شخصيات ومكان هامشي لا يهتم بذكره أصلا وزمان ضبابي لا نتبينه بسهولة، ثم الجوهر، الحدث وشعور الشخصيات في داخل الحدث.
بؤرة الحدث تجعلك تقف متفكرًا أمام الدافع خلف الخيانة الزوجية، والمجتمعات مهما اختلفت ثقافتها تحتسب خيانة الزوجة أشد وبيلًا من خيانة الزوج لأسباب لا داعي للإطالة حولها، وفي روايتنا فالزوجة تشرع في الخيانة بسبب نفورها من روتين واستقامة حياتها المرفهة، وهو سبب غريبٌ بعض الشيء لطبقات اجتماعية أقل من طبقة البطلة، ولكن اعتياد النعيم بلا التفكير في هموم الحياة، مفسدةٌ على رأي أبي العتاهية، فأغرقتْ البطلة جسدها في علاقة غرامية بلا أية دافع سوى ملء فراغ أوقات شاغرة طويلة طيلة الأسبوع، ولكن يبدو أن اعتياد النعيم والتمرد عليه يجعل صاحبه عرضةً للحظة التي يرى فيها كل ما ضمن وجوده، يُسحَب منه ببطء مميت.
وقد كان عقاب بطلتنا على يد الكاتب أن تُحبَس بين براثن الخوف، والتفكير في نهايات عديدة للجحيم الذي جنته يداها، إنّ الرواية تتمثل عبقريتها في بساطتها، فلم يتكلّف الكاتب أية زخرفات أدبية، ولم يطل الحديث عن أبعاد الخيانة وأحداثها، بل اكتفى بإعاشتنا داخل عقل إيرين، الزوجة الساذجة الثرية، وهي تحاول إعادة التوازن إلى حياتها المسلوبة.
تجربة بسيطة تعكس آلامًا عاصفةً في لحظات الخوف من المجهول والانتظار السرمدي المهيب، لغة تعتمد على إطالة الوصف الدقيق في ردود الأفعال، وأسلوب روائي يصف لحظات الصمت التي تسبق المصائب، وفي نهاية العمل، يعالج الكاتب العقدة بمفاجأة تغلق الستار ببراعة.

Zweig sağ olsun yine iliklerime kadar hissettiğim bir kitap okuttu bana. Hangi kitabını okuduysam bütün duyguları kendi içimde hissederek okudum bu zamana kadar. Ama sanırım içlerinde en iyi yansıttığı duygu 'korku' olmuş. En azından bana göre.
Irene'nin korkularını okumak o kadar tanıdık geliyor ki insana. Korkuyu ancak bu kadar iyi anlatabilirdi bir yazar. Ve bu sadece Irene'nin değil aynı zamanda bizim de korkumuz. Mutlaka birisine söylemekten korktuğunuz şeyler olmuştur ve dahası bu şeyi onun öğrenmesinden korkmuşsunuzdur. İşte o zaman hissettiğiniz şeyleri bu kitapta elle tutulur şekilde önünüze koymuş Zweig.
Irene kocasını aldatmasının bedelini bir şantajcıyla karşı karşıya gelerek öder. Irene bu şantajcı karşısında hem ailesini kaybedecek diye hem de hayatında aslında ne kadar güzel şeyler olduğunu fark edip bunları yitirecek diye büyük bir korku duymaya başlar.
Kitap boyunca Irene kocasına olanları ne zaman itiraf edecek diye bekledim. Ve sonu ile büyük bir şaşkınlık yaşadım.
Kesinlikle yine tadı damağımda kalan bir Zweig klasiği okudum. Denecek çok fazla bir şey yok aslında.

3,5. Irene Wagner lleva casada ocho años con su marido, un rico señor que le ha permitido tener una vida envidiable. Juntos han tenido dos hijos. Pero después de tantos años de fiestas, bailes y opulencia, se siente aburrida. Esto la llevará a iniciar una relación secreta con un jóven músico del que se sentirá atraída nada más conocerlo. Pero un día, después de uno de sus encuentros secretos, Irene se topará con una mujer que dice ser la novia de este. Después de acorralarla, la hábil mujer empezará a chantajear a Irene a cambio de guardar silencio.
Como siempre, Zweig es capaz de contar mucho en muy poquito y es lo que pasa con Miedo. A través de las páginas veremos el declive de Irene, su miedo a perder su acomodada posición por una pasión fortuita. El agobio y la desesperación de Irene se palpan en cada página y consigue hacer sentir al lector la misma sensación. El miedo de la protagonista traspasa las páginas.
Nunca deja de sorprenderme esa fácilidad que tenía Zweig para hacernos sentir emociones. Siempre escrito de una manera exquisita, pero no por ello compleja. Sencillo, pero profundo. Disfruto mucho de este tipo de autores que no necesitan mucha floritura para demostrar lo bien que escriben o lograr una gran profundidad en lo que cuentan.
Eso sí, aunque también es bueno, no es tan redondo como Novela de ajedrez o Mendel el de los libros. Aún con el final sorprendente que tiene, sentí que me faltó algo más. Poquito a poco Zweig se ha convertido en uno de mis autores favoritos, y Miedo añade un peldaño más a ese altar donde ya lo tengo. Quien no haya leído aún nada de este señor, no sé a que está esperando .

If you had the chance to pick any author to write your story or to write a character based on you whom would you pick? I'd pick Stefan Zweig for sure.
His ability to analyze the human psyche will never seize to impress me. He is by far one of the best novelists who walked on earth. I will make it a personal life goal to read everything that he has ever written.

قد يكون سيغمونيد فرويد أسس علم التحليل النفسى و قد تأثر كثيرا بروايات ديستويفسكى و يعتبر الاخوة كارامازوف اعظم ما كتبت على الاطلاق لكن زفايغ ايضًا استطاع ببراعة ان يغوص داخل النفس البشرية و يحللها و الصداقة التى كانت بينهم اعتقد انها أثرت فى الاثنين، فرويد استفاد من كتابات زفايغ كما استفاد زفايغ فى التحليل النفسى من فرويد و يظهر تبجيلهم لبعض فى رسائلهم و تاثرهم بافكار بعض .
هذا اول عمل اقراءه لزفايغ و استطيع ان ارى بوضوح لماذا وقع الكثير فى حبه، نحن امام قلم ساحر استطاع ان يجعل من قصة عادية قد تبدو للكثير لا تأتى بالجديد الى كلمات تنبض بالخوف، ببراعة استطاع ان ينقل كل مشاعر الخوف و الترقب الينا، الخوف الذى ينهشك من الداخل حتى يجعل من حياتك سجن يتغذى عليك تدريجيًا حتى يفقدك الحياة .
نحن امام امراة تخون زوجها و ليس بسبب قلة حبها له او انسياعها وراء شهوتها بل بسبب توقها للشعور بالمغامرة , كانت ترغب فى التحرر من الحياة الرتيبة البرجوازية، كانت ترى نفسها عصفورة حبيسة الزواج و التقاليد و ارادت ان تتحرر من القفص، كانت تمتلك كل شئ لكن لا تعرف قيمته حتى وقعت فى طريقها امراة عرفت سرها لتبدا فى ابتزازها حتى لا تفشى سرها لزوجها .
فى 70 صفحة استطاع زفايغ ان يرسم الخوف و هو ينهش الروح ، القلق الذى يلتهم الحياة تدريجيًا و الاشمئزاز التى تعاينه الزوجة من شعورها بالذنب و الخجل فلا تستطيع الاعتراف لزوجها و لا تستطيع ان تساوم المراة التى تبتزها، و مع الضغط النفسى التى تعاينه لا تجرؤ حتى على الصراخ و اظهار الألم، اصبحت تتصنع الفرح و لكنها ممزقة داخليًا تهوى تدريجياً على شفا الانتحار حتى تاتى النهاية الغير متوقعة عندما تتقاطع الخطوط .

لأول مرة أصادف كاتب استطاع سبر أغوار نفسية المرأة ووصف مشاعرها بكل دقة و رقة، ليجعل القارىء يتعاطف مع المرأة الخائنة و العاهرة والكاذبة فقط لوصفه ما تحسه بكل تفاصيله.
هنا نحن أما القصة التي قد تكون مستهلكة من كل كتاب العالم : المرأة الخائنة الخائفة النادمة .
يصنع الشبع ما يصنعه الحرمان تماما
فدائما البطلات من الطبقة الارستقراطية الراقية زوجات لأهم رجال المجتمع
فكانت انا كرنينا أشهرهن في الأدب الروسي و مدام بوفاري أشهرهن في الأدب الفرنسي ، لكن هنا الخائنة الألمانية كانت قصتها مختلفة في كل تفاصيلها المعتادة هنا المرأة ندمت حقا و لم تستطيع تحمل فكرة خسارة حياتها الأسرية و حرمانها من طفليها و اجترارها لمرارة كبيرة كل يوم ورعب حقيقي يومي من مبتزتها و بعد سلسلة من الأحداث المشوقة جاءت النهاية الصادمة
!!!!!!
هي أسميه الزوج المتفهم !!! لا هل هو الزوج العاشق المجنون الذي لا يستطيع مجرد التفكير في خسارة حبيبته و زوجته !!
يتقبل خيانتها يؤدبها و يكمل حياته معها .. بكل بساطة وبكل حب
الخوف أشد قسوة على الجاني من العقوبة نفسها.
طبعا لم استطيع التعاطف مع البطلة رغم جمال قلم زفايغ لكن الرواية ككل كانت غريبة و صااادمة لكني استمتعت بها

إذا تأخر الابن قليلا.. تظهر كل الاحتمالات القاتمة
إذا رن الهاتف في وقت متأخر
يتملكه الخوف والفزع
. .
رواية عظيمة فعلا.. وهي لا تتكلم إلا عن الخوف.. تذوب كل شخصيات الرواية في مقابل هذا الشبح.. شبح قد يكون لا أساس له
لكنه يفعل الأفاعيل حينما يتملكك

Gözünün görebildiği her şeyi incelikle tasvir edebilmesini yeni sindirmeye başlamışken bir de korku gibi aktarımı zor bir duyguyu nasıl yani...!!
