What a beautiful book that draws you in you feel the heartbreak of Anna yes she is suffering from survivors guilt and she needs to let go so sh can't start to heal
Hiding in New York after the accident hasn't helped so she heads to the country one day and sees what she believes is a dragon. So starts a journey for her but can she let go of the past and start to live again. The dragon feels her despair and all he wants to do is heal her but will she allow it. This is only a short read but it ticks all the boxes as it drags you along a emotional ride

Anna came out to walk the labyrinth despite the pending first snowfall. Her family was gone, she wasn’t moving on or healing, she was hardly living at all, mired in intense grief. This was the one year anniversary of the horrible car accident that took her mom, dad, and younger sister. She was scarred both inside and out. She was thoroughly damaged. Moving to New York, she could be completely alone, even if surrounded by a huge crowd of people. She liked to spend her sleepless nights walking the labyrinth in the middle of nowhere – she even liked the hour drive on lonely back roads to get there. She would never drive on an interstate again. The city’s sounds of traffic accidents or squealing brakes gave her flashbacks. So she only drove late nights, backwoods, losing herself in the forest of trees. Her face was frozen in the icy wind. At least that made it feel alive, because she was dead on the inside.
Anna began her walk in the labyrinth, glancing up at the moon. But instead, she saw a large dark shadow fly over her. A rounded body with wings, so not a plane. The wings sent gusts of air past her, a tail swept from side to side as it glided back toward her. Her brain could not process what she saw. Though her muscles tensed to run, she was too terrified that she would be burned to a crisp or swallowed whole by this thing that looked just like a dragon from the childhood books she had read. But it stood 10 feet away and stared at her, its warm breath moving over her. Dragons don’t exist, so why couldn’t her mind explain what this was? White sparkling scales looked like beautiful snowflakes and, since it could not be a dragon, it must be a hallucination. Now was the time to run – but flames surrounded her and she dropped to the ground unconscious.
Anna woke in the arms of a handsome young man and felt comfort and attraction. She struggled in his arms, then an unnatural peace and calm spread over her, and she asked if he was causing that. He acknowledged that he was using his psychic connection to keep her calm for the difficult things that he had to tell her. He told he had created the fire to save her, because “HE” was coming and she had to be taken to safety and hidden quickly. Who was coming for her? What is the secret that Grael, the dragon, has not told her? Will she be strong enough to handle his revelations and survive the one who had only bad intentions for her?
This was quite an interesting book. It was like a textbook of mental illness from a patient’s perspective. The reader could actually feel Anna’s intense pain as she tried to deal with her suffering alone. The story line was very powerful, and it was a relief when Grael made contact and the healing was able to begin.

A gripping short story with a dark and sinister start, when Anna is suffering from survivor's guilt - the only survivor in her family after a car accident. Deep in despair she gives up on anything she had once cherished and now hides in NYC. One winter day she drives to the country and suddenly sees a dragon. From here on out the story is straight forward, but strangely believable, as she constantly questions herself and stubbornly clings to remnants of her despair.
Healing her - is the dragon's only wish.
A lovely story,with an excellent description of feelings in the first chapter. It seems as if the author knows quite well, what she is describing here.
I gave this a 4.5 Stars. Had the story be longer, I would surely have given a five star review.

After surviving a tragedy Anna takes a trip while deciding how her life would go. When she gazing up a some thing flying in the sky she is amazed when he lands a few feet from her. Grael knows that its too soon for Anna to understand what she is to him but when danger closes in on her he has no choice. Anna thinks its a joke and doesn't really believe it until he fights against another dragon to keep her safe. Will Anna give in and be his mate?
This is a great short story that will draw you in from beginning until end. The chemistry between them is blazing hot. This is a well written and very entertaining story. I would recommend this book to any book lover.

This author definitely has an unbelievable ability with words to express her character’s emotions. Grael and Anna are an interesting couple. Grael is a dragon shifter and tells Anna she is his mate. My biggest criticism of this read is that it is so short and ends abruptly. For anyone who has lost a loved one, the beginning description of Anna’s feelings are well worth the read.

This is a perfect short story to fill the time between series that are not completed yet. Anna is dealing with survivor's guilt and takes a trip to try to heal emotionally and physically and meets Grael. I love how Anna finds out all about the paranormals through the fact that Grael is her mate. This book hit me with all the feels due to the excellent descriptions of the feelings.

This was a wonderful book. I loved that Anna went away to heal, and was going out walking when she caught the attention of paranormal creatures. Something she would never have thought of. I loved the way the characters in the book bonded, and progressed. I didn't want to put it down.

I love reading this shifter book. It has strong characters and was wonderfully written and the author is one of my favorites. I can not wait to see what is written next. I highly recommend this book to everyone who loves shifter books.

This is a great short story and the author does a wonderful job at describing how the characters are feeling and thinking. A woman trying to get her life back together whilst feeling guilty meets her life mate, who isn’t exactly what she would ever have expected.

This was a good short story that takes a dragon to come heal the wounds of your life. Anna's suffering had me in tears, Grael is a snow dragon shifter and Anna's mate. He saves her from danger and from her guilt. This is a must read.

Very short whirlwind
PTSD and panic disorders are hard to live with. In the beginning of the book we can see that Anna has been suffering for a while. The meeting with her Dragon and the events and whirlwind decision were extremely quick. I have to say i expected more building. Still this was a good quick read.

This Insta-love story was full of angst as you feel the pain the heroine is going through. I loved the way she met the hero. This was a short story. I wish it was longer because I could not get enough

I found this book difficult to get into. The story however is worth persevering. Highly detailed, this book is something different from the usual.

I had trouble getting connected to this book.
Not sure why but I just couldn’t make a connection to Anna and Grael. It was a bit of a slow start and I kept thinking that it would pick up but for me it was just not a good match.
