I live in a small town in Wisconsin. From my deck, I can see the Mississippi River on one side and the bluffs, where eagles live and nest on the other side. I live with my husband Dave and dog Buddy. My two children are grown and I have two grandchildren. I love to watch people and that has helped me with my writing. I often use people I watch as characters in my books and I always try to give my characters some of my own values and habits.
I love to create characters and put them in a troubling situation then sit back and let them do all the work. My characters surprise even me at times. At some point in the book, they take on a life of their own and the twists and turns they create becomes the story. Of all the stories, I could write I found I like mystery/thrillers the best. I like to keep my readers guessing until the very end of the book.

Jackson Kane’s contribution to this collection with Break Hard takes you on one unbelievable ride of non stop action and suspense. Remy and Star are constantly grabbing your attention and leaving the mystery of never knowing what’s going to happen next, we’re given one helluva ride with twists and turns at every corner. The Steel Veins MC don’t mess around and you definitely don’t want to cross Tee or Muse for that matter. I can’t wait to see what the future holds and where we’re heading. This is my unbiased and voluntary review.

I've only read Amelia Wilde's 'By Any Other Name' from this box set, but that story alone makes it worth while. The book is a very very loose retelling of Romeo and Juliet, which would normally put me of, but I have to say I really enjoyed this.
Amelia has a lovely writing style that just draws you into the story, with characters who have warmth and depth. I really liked both Gio and Sia, I believed in them and cared about them. The plot moved with a good pace and the story held my attention throughout. I found this book really easy to read, it wasn't too full of angst, though it does have emotional depth.
I loved the little twist at the end, and am quite intrigued as to whether there will be more mafia books from the author in the future. As a mafia romance this is quite different from her other books, but I absolutely adored it and really do hope she writes more of these.

For the first time in a long time I regret agreeing to read an advance copy. I received only one story in this anthology, Break Hard, but it didn’t come close to being a romance. If I wanted heinous gruesomeness and amoral behavior of men with no conscience I would read horror, thrillers or true crime genres. Not only are we subjected to the details of the presumed hero in sexual scenes three times with someone other than the heroine, everything else about all the characters' behavior is corrupt and so far beyond redemption even St. Peter couldn’t save them. The hero and heroine spend zero time together other than him coming to her rescue (where you'll get details of murder, attempted rape and cadaver dismemberment), yet after the first time they have sex she’s convinced she's in love.
If this is an example of the types of stories in this book, I’ll pass. And although I usually love Jackson Kane's work, I won’t be reading any more of this serial. Yes, it's titled the Steel Veins MC Romance Series, but make no mistake. This first part ends in a cliffhanger, with absolutely nothing resolved, so it is a serial, not a series, which, to those of us who hate cliffhangers, is an important distinction. I feel like I was duped into reading a book under the guise of a romance novel that I would never have chosen to read otherwise. Do your readers a favor, Mr. Kane, and go back to writing the romance we’ve come to know and love from you or publish this type of work under the appropriate genre. What I just read was definitely not romance.

Review for By Any Other Name: Brilliantly written, fast-paced mafia romance story by Amelia Wilde. Gio and Sia (Alessia Ricci) story was beautiful told. This story has betrayal, secrets, lies, twists and turns through out. Hope we get read more about the Moretto family, I voluntarily reviewed this Advanced Reader Copy. This is part of City Of Sin: A Mafia & MC Romance Collection.

I was given the chance to read two stories in this anthology - Break Hard by Jackson Kane and Payback by Roxy Sinclaire.
Break Hard: 4 stars. This is a seriously twisty, gritty story about Remy and Star and the Steel Veins MC. It ends with a cliffy, so be warned. Don't be expecting a story like Jackson's usual, but it's great just the same. Sexy, raw and suspenseful.
Payback: 4 stars. Leah wants revenge on the man who destroyed her family, Marco. She wants to destroy him, but never planned on falling in love with him instead. I always love Roxy's stories, and Payback is no exception. It's sexy and suspenseful, as befitting a good mafia story.
I received an ARC for an honest review.

Riveting, thrilling, action-packed and suspenseful! This mafia romance book was impossible to put down, and it will have you on the edge of your seat to find out what happened next. The momentum of the story keeps you wanting to read more. It is somewhat dark with gruesome details; murder, mystery, drama, kidnapping, intrigue, suspense, and passion continue to keep you glued to the pages of this fascinating story. From the very first page, I was spellbound by these fantastically described characters that you will find yourself falling in love with—or not. I wasn't expecting the turn this story took; it has quite an unexpected revelation that may leave you flabbergasted but it is jaw-dropping good! I loved the characters of Sia Andrews (Alessia Ricci) and Gio Moretto. When Sia parents died, she is living with her Uncle David. Sia attends college, and plans to move out of her uncle’s house because she thinks he is too authoritarian. Gio Moretto is handsome, sexy, and a member of the most notorious mafia family—Moretto family. Gio turns twenty-one, and he gets welcomed as a full-pledged adult by the Moretti family once he completes the task that is assigned to him by his father, Marco Moretto—whether it is to kill or negotiate. I received an Advance Reader Copy for the story “BY ANY OTHER NAME” (A Moretto Crime Family novel) written by Amelia Wilde, part of CITY OF SIN City: A Mafia & MC Romance Collection and voluntarily reviewed this book. Gio Moretto the youngest of Chicago’s Moretto crime family, is now twenty-one years old. He is ready, hungry for the power, the control. To be welcomed as a bonafide member, he must first complete a task assigned to him: it involves killing Alessia Ricci. Unfortunately, she is also his crush from middle school, Sia Andrews. Will he be able to go through with it, when his future at his father’s and brothers’ sides are at stake?
Gio Moretto shows up in her bedroom hiding in the dark one night, and Sia was too drunk from her evening out partying to realize that he had way worse intentions than just saying hello after so many years. But when her brain finally catches up to the situation, it’s too late. There is no time to think. Just run. This is a great story of revenge, mystery, suspense, and a second chance for Gio and innocent Sia. Looking forward to Portia’s story, as well!

This collection of mafia and MC romances is fast-paced and at times dark and gritty. I read a few of the stories:
Break Hard - What a thrilling ride! I absolutely loved this raw and gritty MC romance! Star was a total kicka$$ woman, and I was glad to see Remy become the man he was meant to be. There is darkness and violence in this book, but the story just sucks you right in. I was immersed into the world of motorcycle clubs and the brotherhood. It was steamy, amazing and full of action and thrilling moments! It felt so real, and the gamut of emotions they brought in me made me want to re-read this again! It was gripping and edgy!
Payback - Leah may have wanted revenge, but does she succeed in her quest? She and Marco have an interesting connection, and neither one seems to be able to stay away from the other. I enjoyed this story, but it wasn't as dark as I was expecting. There were some good surprises though!
By Any Other Name - Gio has come into his own, but he must pass one test to prove himself. Little does he know it involves killing his childhood friend Sia. This had some amazing twists and turns, and the fire between Gio and Sia was blazing hot! This mafia romance was exciting and so entertaining.

An amazing box set that is absolutely a must read.
I had a copy of PAYBACK from Roxy Sinclaire and it was worth the read. A book of good length and very well written. Nice storyline and plot. Characters are well described and they develop nicely through the story. Their chemistry is amazing and the passion hot. They are likeable. Would have liked more depth to them and that they were stronger in their characters.
The story flows nicely of the pages and keeps you on the edge just wanting to read on and know what happens next. The mix of emotions, mafia, drama, sadness, revenge, romance and more makes it worth the read. This story is not only about the hot scenes but it has heart in it. Absolutely an amazing mix.
I like it is written in dual POV, which gives the reader both the thoughts and feelings of the main characters. That makes the story even more emotional and captivating. Enjoyable read. A fantastic romance and love story with heart and hotness.

I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book. This review is only for Amelia Wilde’s story By Any Other Name. Just when you think your tired of Mafia stories, Amelia writes one packed with hot characters and a unique storyline that is so intriguing with surprising twists it has you flipping through page after page.
I loved this story Gio comes from one of the top Mafia families from Chicago, and they have suffered loss and tragedy.
Sia also is from a Mafia family and has learned the lesson of losing a loved one.
I’m not going to spoil any teasers from this wonderful book and hope no one else does either. It is that juicy! You’ll have to read it for yourself. I loved the well written storyline and the characters. It’s one of my favorites from Amelia and I’m positive you’ll feel the same. Don’t pass on this one! I wonder if this is a continuous series with the rest of the Moretto brothers? It would be interesting for sure.

What a collection of authors! It's what I love about an anthologies, so many fantastic authors in one place and the other thing is discovering 'new to me' authors.
Break Hard by Jackson Kane blew me away, he isn't a 'new to me' author, however after reading this, he could of been! This is so different from what he has written previously that if I hadn't seen his name, I would of thought it had been written by somebody else. I think this is a testament to how he can move in and out of genres and his strength as an author.
Break Hard is not an easy read but it had me riveted from the first page, I could not put it down. There were times when I was reading it through my fingers and had to give myself a minute before continuing.....that last scene.....Damn! But I can't wait to read more of Remy and Star

Wow. I've never been the biggest fan of MC books. But this one is so well-written and I love Mr. Kane's work so much that those take precedence over all. Break Hard starts out on an ordinary day, at a seemingly ordinary gas station, where Star is trying to study but her aunt and uncle keep interrupting her with meaningless busy work. Then a man Star dated once shows up, thinking she will go out with him again but Star isn't interested. Then some members of the Steel Veins motorcycle club show up and all hell breaks loose. I won't put spoilers in my review so if you wanna find out what happens, pick up a copy of City of Sin today. Be warned though, this story in the anthology ends on a cliffhanger (as it's part 1 of 3) and is a very marked departure from Mr. Kane's usual fare. I voluntarily read and reviewed an ARC of this story.

This anthology has some amazing authors. I had the opportunity to read Break Hard by Jackson Kane and I was blown away. I have read Jackson Kane before, but this is by far one of his darkest reads. It's like nothing he's ever written. This is one of the things I love about authors, when they step out of their comfort zone to write something they've never written. Break Hard has a great deal of twists and adventure that draws you in and make you feel all the emotions.. The characters will surprise you and will make you want to keep reading to see where the story will take you. I'm looking forward to what's to come! Pick up this anthology to meet new authors or continuing reading those you already love.

Absolutely fun read with romance and suspense...4.5 stars!
Amelia Wilde’s contribution to the collection with By Any Other Name is a wonderful take on Romeo and Juliet theme mafia style. It’s exciting, page-turning action, suspense, and romance. Gio Moretto turns 21. As a show of fealty and a worthy member of the Moretto crime family, Gio is tasked with killing the last member of the Ricci family. But what he learns confuses and surprises him when his childhood friend, Sia Andrews, is one and the same Alessia Ricci, the woman he is sent to kill. These bad boys are BAD!!
I originally started reading this collection as an advanced reader copy of Roxy Sinclaire's "Payback", but I got interested in reading about these bad boys that make all the good girls dream of being on the other side of the law too. I read at least three other stories and I enjoyed them just as much. Please understand that mafia or MC romances are not light and happy ones; these are darker in nature because these bad boys are doing things from the wrong side of the law. But they make up for that in how they treat their women...eventually. Like I said, I reviewed an advanced reader copy of one of these stories, and I borrowed this book through the Kindle Unlimited program too.

An intriguing bundle of stories, with something different to offer in each. I found new to me authors work and ones I already love!

Then there is Break Hard by Jackson Kane- a cyclone of MC madness wrapped up in a suspenseful, dark, gritty masterpiece that unfolds like it should be on the big screen! Talk about captivating! I cannot wait for the next book!

A great collection of authors that focuses on the mafia and MC, bad boys finding the “one” they can’t let go of. So far I have read By Any Other Name by Amelia Wilde and if that’s a testament to how the other stories will go...I won’t be disappointed.
The story of Gio and Sia, two people who knew each their when in middle school where they were best friends and had crushes on each other. Years later Gio’s dad wants something from him, to prove his worth in the family and to make him a man, problem is it involves Sia. A story filled with secrets, lies, twists and turns and a surprise ending I didn’t see coming.
Now I can’t wait to read the rest !!!!

I voluntarily read an ARC of Amelia Wilde’s By Any Other Name. I am a sucker for Amelia’s sweetheart stories and her billionaire romances, so I was a little concerned about how she’d pull off a mafia love story. Dark and angsty isn’t usually my jam, but I have to admit that Ms. Wilde did this one the gritty justice of the street. Sia and Gio’s story is one of a long history, full of twists and turns and surprises, both good and bad. The plot is fast-paced and intriguing and the there are side characters you’ll love to hate and those that you’ll just love. Amelia makes sure to give you her trademark HEA, but is there more in store from this story? We’ll have to wait and see.

It is fast paced and unbelievable thrilling, hot as hell and I had to read it in one go… sooooo good!
The characters are amazing, lovable, hot and tough, making this book even more entertaining!

So far I have only read one of the stories in this collection but it is a great story by Amelia Wilde. Gio has just turned twenty-one and it's time to join the family business. He's given a task to prove himself - take out the last surviving member of the Ricci family, nineteen year old Alessia Ricci. But when he comes face to face with her, he realizes she is his childhood friend, Sia Andrews, the girl he always had a crush on. Knowing he can't follow through with the original plan, he and Sia go on the run with his family only one step behind. The writing is great and Gio and Sia are likable characters with good chemistry. This story is a very enjoyable read.

Gio & Sia both had a crush and now reunited under crazy circumstances and can no longer deny there feelings. This story had twist that you won’t see coming. Dark Romance At It’s Best
Loved this fantastic collection but for me the one that stood out was Flirting With Danger by the amazing author N.J. Cole. The Ranetti and Morelli crime families and their feud in Chicago was intriguing, full of betrayal, kidnapping, murder and best of all the romance between Dante Ranetti and Annalisa Morelli was lust and love at its best. The characters had really well written depth, the banter between Marco and Dante was absolutely perfect. Well done N.J. but overall a fantastic collection. This is my honest review of an ARC I received.

I've only read one story out of this anthology, Break Hard by Jackson Kane. It was intense, violent and very engaging. Star and Remy are fabulously written characters, Star is clueless and Remy is part of a violent MC. The plot/story line pulled me in from the first paragraph. The writing is top notch, I can hardly wait to read the rest of this series (yes, there is a cliffhanger at the end of this story). Great job Jackson Kane!

O received this book as an arc and here is my honest review. Leah moves to new york to find the man that ruined her life and future, after making friends with a family that runs a diner which Marco dined in she plans to seduce him so she can ruin him in return. He wants her so invited her his island to spend the weekend as they grow close their pasts come back to haunt them and it seems that both their lives are in danger. Can the lovers reconnect and sail off in to the sunset? Great read from one of my favourite authors

4.5 Stars!! Payback by Roxy Sinclaire - There is Leah who wants revenge on the man who destroyed her family. She has worked for years to get close to him. Then there is Marco, a Mafioso alpha male. He has a connection with Leah. She never thought she would fall in love with him. How will she get her revenge? Its a good quick read and has a bit of everything (intrigue and suspense as well as lots of sizzle). A good mafia romance story that Roxy does so well. Enjoy!!

If you are a fan of dark reads this would be one to dive into. Heat and romance are not skipped in this either with a combo of authors that will give you a taste of reach of their fair. The prisoners they speak of not taking beware they fib they take us the reader as one as we try and escape into this. Emotions get pulled with the seat of your pants getting marks from being pulled also. One such is Break Hard a beginning MC that is full of heat mixed with the Steel Veins. You will slide in deep but will be held a prisoner until the next go around.
