Just Another Book Bitch's ALWAYS SPOILER FREE REVIEW

BLOGGER NOTE: What is wrong with Goodreads? I haven't been able to log in for weeks! It asks for a sign in then immediately signs me out. It's been a revolving door or letting me in only to immediately kick me out! I sign in with my Facebook info if that helps but if anyone can help me resolve this issue I'd be greatly appreciative!!! I'm trying to hurry and upload this before It kicks me out and I don't know when it'll let me back in!

description

I was so excited to receive this book! It's been exactly one year since I discovered the awesomeness that is Feehan. I have to admit I'm still kicking myself for not (discovering) her sooner. Each book makes me crave more of her writing. She has a way of developing characters that confuse the heart. You think you have a favorite character, but with each book, each traumatic story, your heart melts and you’re overcome with emotion and love for the current character and their heartbreaking tale. How’s a girl supposed to stay faithful to our favorite characters when she writes such amazing heroic men and such fierce women ... how I ask you?!! Well, the heart wants what the heart wants. (AKA. The men of Torpedo Ink belong to me okay. MINE... THEY ARE ALL MINE!!)
K ...?🤷🏻‍♀️
K! 😍😂

Vengeance Road is the second book in the Torpedo Ink series and I'll let you in on a little secret... if you thought book one was good, buckle up and hold on tight because book 2 is nothing less than a thrilling, action-packed, sizzling inferno of a read that will have you so engulfed in this MC world you won't be able to put it down! If you craving more of an inside look into the men of Torpedo Ink THIS BOOK is everything you wanted and more. I will warn you, this book will hit deep into the heart of readers. You glimpse many of the atrocities Steele, Torpedo Ink's VP, lived through and many will find it hard to read...(This is your trigger warning ladies and gents! Steel is a fierce MC warrior but his story is not for the light of heart!) The savage side of steel and just a tiny bit of the damage they can inflict on the underworld of those in human trafficking comes to the forefront... a warning to some that might find some of their tactics a dark and disturbing... I for one found dark and heartwrenching but justified, to say the least ...

"one of their own, One of their family was an exact position they had all been in as children”

Made to feel unwanted and abandoned Breeze sets all hurt to the back burner to hunt down the men and women of Torpedo Ink. She needs them .... there is no room for failure. Face to face with Steele, the VP and the man that obliterated her heart she has one thing in mind. A rescue mission or a suicide mission. One she can’t not complete... To Steele's eyes, Breezy is a welcomed blast from the past. But when she drops news of epic proportions on not just Steele but all the men and women of the MC club they'll stop at nothing to see that justice is done.

Vengeance Road is Steele and Breezy's story. While their relationship started under false pretenses, the fire and passion they have for one another is anything but! Steele is determined to give her complete honesty to let her into his world and to bear his soul. While he pulls back the scabs of old wounds and reveals hidden secrets, not even his brothers and sisters know about, you can't help but fall apart with him. Coming from similar traumatic backgrounds. They fight to discover what love and total acceptance means to them.

Prepare for A gripping emotional rollercoaster ride of epic proportions from the first page to the last. I think Feehan fans new and old will agree with me when I say this series transcends MC romance into a league of its own.

Thanks to Berkley Publishing for my paperback ARC and Christine Feehan for the opportunity to review.

This was awful!
She was a clubwhore (one of my hated trope)
He had blowjobs from other women while separated
They had no problem being naked and having sex in front of other people
She was pathetic with the whole “I’m stronger now” but turns into a quivering jelly whenever she is around him. The woman was quick to drop her pants around him and all her inner musings of not allowing him power over her again were just a load of nonsense that didn’t hold true because the woman was controlled by her lust for him.
For two people who were sexually abused as children I find it really strange that they both are so sexually unhibited (then again maybe that’s just my thinking)
Did I also mention that he had BLOWJOBS from other women during separation whilst claiming he loved her???
Is this book really written by CF? I didn’t think she wrote books where H is intimate with OW after h?
I’m seriously feeling let down by CF I can’t believe she wrote this rubbish!!
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.

I have to admit that Ms. Feehan is a fabulous storyteller.
So, I keep read and finished even thought I wanted to throw my IPad few times.

I’ve read her other series too, and I have to say this one is not my favorite.
She like to write certain type of heroines in her series, and after two books I definitely will say this one more like extreme old fashion Harlequin romance, where the heroine always tried to be brave and strong but at the end always overwhelming and needed to be save by the super alphole hero! 🙄

Still an interesting story thought.
But GhostWalkers series still my fav series of hers. 😘

Christine Feehan’s Vengeance Road takes it up a notch with a grittier and suspenseful romance for the second book in the series. Breezy Simmons was born into a MC and now that she’s out, she never wants to return to it. When her old MC kidnaps her son, she has no choice but to contact the father, Steele. Steele is the VP for the Torpedo Ink MC and is surprised when Breezy seeks him out. When he finds out the reason she needed to find him he has even more incentive to right the horrible wrong and make her his again.

The whole story was heading in one direction of recovering their son and finding their way back to one another. But there was a lot of fears to overcome and they weren’t the same people they were 3 years ago. Breezy has become and independent self-reliant woman since she’s been on her own. She fears for her son’s life and hers as well and never wants to be part of the biker culture again. Steele needs Torpedo Ink to feel whole and have the support of his fellow bikers since they grew up within those assassin training schools. He’s got to make her understand that he needs both Torpedo Ink and her in his life to feel whole again. That is the crux of the story and it was hard for either one to make concessions in order to be together.

The one thing that was holding them together was their love. You can feel that they still had an attraction for each and as much as they knew they had obstacles to fix, they couldn’t deny the physical chemistry they have together. Through compromise and perseverance, they find their son and brutally destroyed the kidnappers. The scenes of torture and murder were pretty gruesome but necessary to understand these men and women there were made to be. Vengeance Road lives up to its name from beginning to end and was wonderfully written.

Christine Feehan has created a vast group of broken individuals who are trying hard to fit into normal society and their backstories have been heartbreaking to read. I love how she can take a complex individual and show such diversity in one individual. Steele may have a monster inside of him but he also has a softer side and be a caring individual to Breezy, his son Zane and the men and women of Torpedo Ink. Steele is a complicated individual and his past still impacts a great deal on his present behavior. Confronting his past and PTSD was a huge step in making their relationship work and how the author brought it all out was nicely done. Breezy herself had to learn to trust Steele will protect her and do what is right for them. Breezy’s adamant refusal to go back to the lifestyle might have been repetitive in the beginning but the story picked up and resolved with a happy ending. Torpedo Ink has become one of my favorite series to read and I look forward to reading future stories.

What a ride this book is! Christine Feehan does an amazing job telling Steele and Breezy's Story in Vengeance Road. She weaves an emotional tapestry with just the right amount of action, steamy passion, humor, heart stopping moments, dreamy sigh moments, and the wonderful strength found in the bonds of family, no matter the composition of it. The deliverance of Vengeance and hand delivered Karma by Torpedo Ink , though gruesome, is satisfying.

But what immerses me into this book every time I read it (it's been 3, so far) is the emotional journey this couple has to take. Christine gives us a visit into the lives of people emotionally, physically, and sexually abused. And how the events shape their ability to interact in society. Steele, a healer forced to be a killer, to watch those he wanted to heal die, leaving him scarred inside and out, living each day to survive, make sure those he cares for survive, and saving others from suffering anything near what his life was, found a healer of his own.

Breezy Simmons, damaged by her life in an outlaw MCC, the Swords and her past with Steele, has grown and wants nothing to do with the life Steele is so dependent on, the one he swears is so different. Her strength, her power for survival is the gentle giving way she approaches life, knowing where she is needed and anticipating what is needed. Like her name her presence is a healing balm, a warmth to a chilled soul. She is perfect for Steele.

They are thrown back together by heart-wrenching events, and the ride they take them on, open them both to an understanding of each other. Forces Steele from his horrific past to face his demons, and even more scary for him, hope for a future with Breezy. The hard part is learning to adjust to where they fit in each other's lives. To make the choice to change. The Torpedo Ink Club can remain and he can have something separate and special with Her.

Christine does an amazing job, with the danger and rescue this Club is sent on, to bring Breezy to accept them, to know she can depend and be a part of them. They are not the same as the abusive world she left. In doing so the readers get to know club members in more depth, personalities show and their special skills used to survive and to save others are woven into the action and in scary or funny moments. By the end of the book you're not only happy to see Steele and Breezy on the Road towards a HEA, you're hoping all the members find their someone and the Road towards their own HEA.

This series is going to be intense, emotional and have the reader so immersed in their outcomes! Rooting for them all!

UGH. I feel sick... I couldn't finish this... Apparently, this so-called hero gets off on other men taking pictures of his woman while they are having sex (whether or not it is with her consent).... AHHHH I can't get this out of my brain! How is this Christine Feehan? The author of the Dark books? I knew she didn't have as much respect for our shared gender as most women... but this really beats all. And not only that but he was not faithful during separation. He was with multiple other women (mostly simultaneously), and yet he was still "planning to find her" and bring her back. Does this sound like respect? Or anything remotely close to love? He chooses his club over her over and over and though she said she wasn't going to put up with it anymore that is exactly what happened. This was one of the sickest books I've read in a long time.

Vengeance Road is the second book in Christine Feehan’s exciting, sensual, and action-packed Torpedo Ink series. As a genre, MC romance series tend to be more grittier and darker in tone, Vengeance Road is even more darker. In this book, both hero and heroine are broken people with tragic, traumatic past histories full of horrific sexual, mental and physical abuse.

Steele is one of the surviving children who make up Torpedo Ink, the sexual abuse of the Torpedo Ink members endured at their 'school' as children, has left traumatic effects on each member and Steele is barely sane from his past trauma.

The heroine is Breezy Simmons, a very relatable and likeable character. Breezy grew up in the MC lifestyle wherein she endured brutal sexual and physical abuse as a young teen, her own father condoned such abuse because being a female, Breezy was considered to be a mere object to be pimped out and used for the club’s benefit.

Breezy and Steele’s story is a second-chance story, they were lovers in the past and in his twisted attempt to protect Breezy, Steele kicked her out of his bed and club three years ago, unbeknownst to him that young Breezy was pregnant. However, Breezy finds the strength to become an independent, self-reliant woman who manages to take control of her life, free of the brutality of the MC environment. After Steel’s cruel rejection, Breezy picks herself up, has her baby, finds a job to support them both and is doing just fine as a single mom until her sadistic father finds her, kidnaps Breezy’s young son, and threatens to kill his own grandchild unless Breezy infiltrates Torpedo Ink and kills their club vice president, Steele. Instead of following her father’s dictate, Breezy warns Steele and enlists his help to get their son back.

When the Torpedo Ink members rally around Breezy and Steele to retrieve young Zane, Breezy and Steele’s two-year-old son, declaring Zane as Torpedo Ink, it was such a moving pivot in the relationship between Breezy and the other club members. Breezy wants no part of any MC and conflicted and confused by the comradery of the Torpedo Ink members, especially the respect the males show toward the female TI members as well as towards the wives and children within the TI close-knit community.

It was Breezy’s strength of character that really held the romance together and the fierce loyalty of the TI members that drove the action forward. I look forward to seeing all the Torpedo Ink members be made as whole as possible, I especially hope that the two female members will find good, strong men who will bind their wounds with kindness and respect. There are many more fascinating stories to be told in this engaging series.

I have mixed feeling on this book/series. I was surprised to discover that the previous book Judgement Road was my first Christine Feehan read.

There’s definitely something about this series that will keep me reading. Although I have to admit It’s a little too dark for me in places. So I’ve started skimming those bits. Abuse to children is a hard limit for me plus I like to sleep. So I skim the bad pages.

This one revolves around Steele and Breezy. Breezy is his one but in order to save her he threw her away. But she’s back. Their son has been kidnapped and she needs help.

I’ve also found it repetitive. At times it’s like being caught in a loop. Going over the same things time and time again. On several occasions I actually thought I’d forgotten to skip the page.

These are long books but honestly I must skim at least a third of them. All the abuse, all the repetition and a lot of the sex.

While I will move on to Vendetta Road. I’m taking a break. I’m going to try Dark Prince see if that’s better.

Vengeance Road by Christine Feehan is book 2 in the Torpedo Ink series and is the VP Steel and Breezy's story.
It's full of old love, misunderstandings, unknown baby, kidnapping, and plenty of sexy biker naughtiness with a HEA (sexy biker HEA style 😘)
I'm getting the feeling that this series and each character's life story gets more darker and twisted with each book,we also get more of why they are the way they are and how they all click together and what their personal nightmares are 😢 (just heartbreaking)
Also we get more of what their lives were like living together in captivity in Russia whilst being abused and being trained as killer assassin's as children.
This series is definitely one to read 📖

Christine Feehan is a brilliant author in the paranormal world, but now she has started to mix up a bit of paranormal with contemporary and I am loving this new MC romance series that she has created. It does have some paranormal elements of a sort but there is a stronger contempoary feel to these books and I am loving them. And MC romance fans will adore these books. I have been waiting on Vengeance Road for a year and it was well worth the wait for sure. I had such a blast with this book and it was just as good as the first book, it has a different array of a set up, but its brilliantly done. Now this book isn’t perfect, but this one worked for me in every way.

Breezy Simmons fell in love with VP “Steele” when he and some of his brothers went undercover in her club that she grew up with and he was the first man to treat her with kindness and respect. She had been sold off to men since she was fourteen years old. But then Steele broke her heart and she found herself pregnant. She left her father’s MC to have a fresh start with her son. Its been three years and her father has kidnapped her son and will only return him if Breezy will go undercover in the Torpedo Ink MC, but she refuses to do that and she knows that her son is in great danger because he will be scared and her father and his men are the type to take it out on him. So she goes to leave a letter at the Torpedo Ink MC clubhouse and ends up being chased by the members, because they recognize her and Steele refuses to give up the woman he hasn’t ever been able to forget. He had to give her up but now he will stop at nothing to convince her to give them a second chance and rescue their son. But Breezy doesn’t trust Steele, or her own heart who has never stopped feeling for Steele, but she is stuck on how much he damaged her before and doesn’t know if she could survive it a second time.
Baby you're reading the situation completely wrong. I know you don't need saving. I do. I need you to save me.”

This was a book that packs a wild punch and wow this is the type of book that will keep you up all night reading, such a page turner, I woke up in the middle of my sleep cycle, bought this book and yeah 2 hours later I had read it and it was DIVINE. I had such a blast with this book and this type of “secret baby” set up trope is the type that I really enjoy. Now I won’t say that everything in this book was perfect because it wasn’t, but it was full of everything that you need in a romance and their story was so beautifully portrayed.

The style of how this book was written was simply perfect for the mood I was in, there wasn’t much in the way of flashbacks (even though this is a second chance) but we learn what happens through inner dialogue for the most part and I really prefer that style in romances to be honest. This story will grab your attention from the very first chapter and I was fascinated with how this book just makes you want to cheer these characters on...even the Torpedo Ink club. Now there are some difficult factors put into play. We have a three year old boy being kidnapped, a second chance trope with a mix of secret baby tropes, then we have the hero and heroine who have suffered some tragic trauma and neither of them really had love as children. If you are unaware of the set up of the Torpedo Ink club, we have a group of brothers and two women who have closer bonds than most blood families have. They were all taken from their homes when they were children and put in a grueling school, 200 children were put into it and only 18 came out and they fought back for the right to live and relied on each other and now formed their own MC and protect each other and go out seeking to protect children in the child slave trade. Our heroine grew up in a MC, but it was a brutal one. She learned to obey and never question anything because her father and his LT would beat her for as long as she could remember, and then she was sold and raped by various members of the MC until she met Steele. The only man she has ever felt true passion and emotion for.
Control is an illusion, Steele. I learned that a long time ago. It doesn't matter who appears to have it. We really only can control ourselves. We have choices. You were my choice.”

The romance that builds between these two is so endearing and there is a focus os sex especially in the beginning, they have always had explosive chemistry and haven’t seen each other in three long years. So we see them trying to figure out where they stand in the relationship, to reconnect, to discover the love and learn about forgiveness and forging a new life for themselves and their son. Its not an easy road for either of them, and they both learn the value of trust and honesty with having this second chance.

We get some fun times with the club and seeing the members interact with each other and how much they support one another and its so amazing to see this happen for them. I love the sense of family even though they aren’t blood related, there is such a close knit bond between them all and looking forward to seeing whose book will be next!

Overall I found Vengeance Road to a be a 2019 Favorite, a story of loss, redemption, and that love does conquer all in this brilliantly written MC love story!!!

I loved Steele's story.

This is the 2nd book in the Torpedo Ink series, and didn't disappointed. We had heartbreak, healing, acceptance, passion as well as vengeance against those that would hurt family belonging to Torpedo Ink MCC.

Steele, while undercover found his woman in Breezy, who's daughter of a new chapter President of the SWORDS. She's experienced abuse during her childhood, and while becoming a young adult. Steele claims her, and provides protection, but must push her away in a cruel manner to save her life, and had her banded from the club for life. Breezy leaves, unaware that she carries, Steele's child. We move forward 3 years, and Breezy must contact Steele, and tell him about their son, Zane to save his life. Breezy's father wants Czar, and Steele killed, and has taken Zane to force Breezy to commit murder. Needless, to say Steele, and his brothers, and sisters head out to New Orleans to save Steele's son. Steele knows he must redeem himself in Breezy's eyes, and has fear that when Breezy finds out his past he'll loose her forever.

I enjoy learning about this interdependent family, and their need for the club life. They know they must stay together to function, and thrive, hoping to find acceptance from the right woman, or man. Czar found "home" with Blythe, Reaper found "acceptance" with Anya, and Steele finds " redemption" with Breezy, and his son Zane.

I didn't love Judgement Road (the first book in the Torpedo Ink series) and sadly I was even less impressed with Vengeance Road. The story had a lot of suspense and a detailed plot and I found the characters relatable but far too often the backstory was repeated or a feeling and an action between the main characters was retold. I felt like every chapter or every couple of chapters, I had to reread the horrific abuse the Torpedo Ink members suffered as children. It turned my stomach the first time, I didn't need to revisit it repeatedly. Why are Breezy and Steele having hot sex and renewing their relationship while searching for their son? I can't fathom so quickly switching from devastated parent worried my child is being abused, killed or trafficked to falling back in love and lust with the ex. Why is this group even a biker club? It's like the club is more to satisfy the publisher's need for books in the genre than an integral part of the story. These guys are better suited to being businessmen or computer geeks than bikers.

This was a hard review for me to write. I hope to find future Feehan books that I can enjoy.

This is one of the books I was awaiting like mad ever since I read the opening chapter in another book of CF's ... it was shaping up to be awesome but after reading I feel let down ...
h is H's old lady in her father's MC where H and his friends are undercover .. unbeknown to him she is less than 18 years old (17) ... she acts much older and has been through a lot ... but as she tells him later, she was past the age of consent in the state they lived in so ... H gets to know her age and panics; he kicks her out of his life and is pretty brutal over it; she has never lived outside the MC lifestyle and is pregnant .. she has a baby and comes to see H as her baby is kidnapped and she has to kill H's brother like MC president ...
H is adamant he loves h and was looking for her ... h maintains she doesn't want anything to do with him as he is a cheater ... H maintains he let her go (very brutally) as he panicked and it was self-sabotage ...
Since this is a confusing review for me, I will put this in point form ...
-) straight up, H cheats; h comes back and sees him with 3 women; he is sleeping underneath them ... he tells her he has not had penetrative sex (I assume he only had oral and needed 3 women to get him off) - I was like WTF! Its cheating! if he was looking for her and she is the love of his life, why was he even having oral sex with someone else? or various someone elses? Was it a chauvinistic case of men have needs? I was very unhappy!
-) h has the worst case of TBS I ever saw; treacherous body syndrome ... he even looks at her and she melts ... I felt she lacked some serious self-respect ... and that made me unhappy ...
-) H kicks h out; she is ill equipped to live a life outside the MC and she has been abused all her life ... she comes back and for a while she maintains how he let her down ... which he did and while she grew up enough to manage on her own, there is no getting around that he was a serious douchebag towards a very young girl ... does CF resolve this by H getting on his knees (and not just for oral sex) and staying there in abject apology? No she doesn't ... she white washes this by describing the atrocious torture H suffered as a child and how he is ill equipped to live in the world ... I was very unhappy with this ...
-) Instead of H bending over backward and doing all he can to keep h in his life, we see H's torture spiel and then h bends over backwards (or literally forwards so he can eff her from behind!) to keep him happy, pander to his whims and what all and what not ... I passed unhappy by now and entered pissed off territory ...
-) objectifying ... under the guise of H's insecurity, we see H asking his friends to take pics of him and h when they have sex; he needs to see her face captured in film; he feels he gets all the love h has for him through pics ... so H and h are pretty relaxed about having sex while his friends walk around ... H even buys very, very exposing clothes (think mesh, see through lace and crotchless panties here) for h which she happily wears and parades around for him ... of course the friends are there too ... I feel that CF wants to push serious boundaries with this series but she is hesitant; so she is sneaking around with it ... massive eye roll here ... she should be honest and just go for all the boundary pushing she wants!!!
-) massive promotion of H by all women in the MC to h; even a teenager felt happy and comfy to pass off advice to h about how she was an abused child, same as h and what a nice man the H is ... just about everyone was all about what a great guy he was and how h needed to give him another chance as she was his only chance of living a good life .... banging my head on the wall by now ...
Finally ...
H; cheater, uses his past as a get out of jail card, is pimped and promoted by his family to h, is seriously sex-mad and needs therapy to manage his dick
h; starts off strong but descends into doormat territory; she needs therapy for just about everything there is ...
And seriously, now I feel that CF is using sex as a page filler which is a shame as she is a good author who doesn't need that ...
I felt this could have been a whole lot better ...

"She didn't want him or anything to do with him, but her body didn't seem to know that."

Vengeance Road is my 2nd venture into the word wizardry of Christine Feehan and it's official. I'm a #FanGirl. She's blown my mind both times and I might as well just put her on auto-click status. It was my MC Romance addiction that made me notice the motorcycle on the cover of her book. I've not read any of her Paranormal Romance, but I might reconsider now that I've seen her work in the biker world.

I met Breezy first. She was a bundle of nerves, forcing herself to seek out the man who broke her heart 3 years ago. The man who's hurtful words still play on repeat in her mind, along with the memories of the good times. Her mind wars with her body as she tries to forget both, but she can't keep him out of her dreams. But that's not something she plans to tell him. No, she only came for one reason and then she plans to walk away from him again.

Steele never expected to see Breezy walking through the doors of the Torpedo Ink clubhouse unless he was the one that brought her there. And he didn't. Nope, if he had, he probably would have been wearing some clothes. He'd already left her with a bad impression of him, but why not go ahead and totally ruin his chances of convincing her to give him another chance, right? He was shocked to discover what brought her there looking for him and he had no intention of letting her leave again. Letting her go the first time was a mistake, one he won't be repeating.

#MindFuckAlert! This story only gets better from that point on. Breezy has grown a pair since leaving the biker world she grew up in. Now that she's no longer afraid to speak up, she does. Steele will soon learn that she has some steel of her own and she won't submit quietly as she did before. But that doesn't mean she wouldn't like to...at least in the bedroom. The fire between them is still as hot as it ever was and neither stand a chance at smothering the flames.

And then, there's the reason for her visit. The danger and suspense only add fuel to the fire and I could not stop reading this amazing story. It is full of passion and pain and high octane is an understatement. Steele & Breezy aren't the only broken characters. The Torpedo Ink MC members might seem dysfunctional to some, but they are there for each other and I can't wait to meet the lucky men and women who will eventually join their unique family. The line forms here...

I loved this book so much!!! It was another ridiculously fantastic installment to the series!

Steele is the perfect alpha male! He is so lovable and fierce at the same time! And then Breezy! She is just so amazing. She is strong and independent and completely courageous! Feehan always knows how to write fantastic women and this book is no exception!

Steele, VP of the Torpedo Ink MC, owes his utmost loyalty to his brothers, having gone through hell together and survived. There's nothing he wouldn't do for them or them for him as they're the only family they each have. A family of misfits who realize they'll never really fit in with main stream society and don't want to. They just want to be left alone to live their life on their own terms.

When a ghost from Steel's past reappears, Steel recruits all the man power at his disposal to keep her from escaping him again.

Breezy Simmons left the MC world in disgrace. Spurned by her lover, thrown out by her father, rejected by those she considered her friends, Breezy survived, living off the grid only to return seeking help from the one and only person she ever loved. Steele.

There's danger on all fronts as Breezy and Steele come to grips with their past to deal with the menace threatening them both.

Steele has survived worse odds but nothing's as important as regaining Breezy's trust when it's clear she despises everything to do with him and the MC lifestyle.

* * * *

Warning: This is a contemporary dark MC erotic romance that includes graphic violence, and references to past underage abuse situations that WILL be a trigger for those who are sensitive to non con sex trade trafficking and abuse. The author does not shy away from including fictional MC lifestyle situations that may be uncomfortable for the reader. Consider yourself warned.

This is the second installment in the "Torpedo Ink" series that can be read as a stand alone. I do want to address the 'paranormal' tag that I see used for this book/series. IMHO this is a wrong tag. There is no paranormal appropriate characters or content in this book. None. Instead either SciFi or Urban Fantasy is applicable as certain characters have psychic type abilities that factors in a minor role in the overall story.

Having read the first installment Judgment Road, I was impressed with this new series revolving around an outlaw biker club that functions on the fringes of society. Their back stories are gut wrenching and emotionally draining though this information does provide insight and understanding about the individual characters and their psyche.

That being said. Steele. Alpha male who demands control and obedience. You just know that's gonna be an issue for any female taking him on right? Well, you know what they say about the bigger they are the harder they fall right?

Breezy. Born and raised in the MC lifestyle, she knew her place and value as her father has drummed it into her her whole life. Leaving was the best thing that ever happened to her until she had to return by force.

So much I'd like to comment on regarding these two and their one again/off again/on again relationship but as this is a new release I'm going to keep it at: WOW. WOW. WOW. My e-reader was in danger of spontaneous combusting quite a few times.

Secondary characters. Characters from the previous installment do return and for the most part they support the main characters in this story too. As in any smart world building, the author provides different personalities and different characteristics for readers to find their favorites knowing most of them will be featured in their own story in the future. Me? I'm a Savage girl myself though Lana is a bad ass in her own right.

The one thing I want to share is that this is a very emotionally draining read. Dark. Don't take that thought lightly as multiple scenes reference back stories that include the abuse and violence certain characters experienced in their past. Not easy to read about (for me). Further. This is an outlaw MC group who don't follow the letter of the law if it's warranted in their view. That means their lifestyle isn't one of sunshine, chocolates, and roses. Expect violence. That's all I'll say.

I loved this book. It was gripping and grabbed me from cover to cover. Though fictional, the characters were mesmerizing though I personally would run for the hills if I were to encounter them in real life. A solid read though I did deduct one star as I questioned one aspect of the story that had a medical injury slant - follow through and details didn't add up. Other than that. A series I'm going to be stalking, waiting for the next installment to find out who next gets their HEA.

I’ve said it once, but I’ll say it again: Torpedo Ink is the series Christine Feehan was always meant to write and I am SO here for it. I loved this book. I don’t want to say too much about the plot because I would have been OFFENDED if anyone had ruined the surprise at the beginning of the book. Basically, this is a second chance romance between Breezy, a woman born into a violent motorcycle club, and Steele, a man with a traumatic past who broke Breezy’s heart.

There are many taboo elements to this book that took me by surprise but not in a bad way. I love that Christine has written almost 100 books, but she still manages to catch me by surprise. Her writing has really developed in the last few years, and I love that she feels comfortable enough to take chances. I didn’t think she could get grittier than her Leopard Series, but this series takes the cake.

What I enjoyed most: I adored Breezy. She could come across as a doormat at times but only because she is so scarred from her traumatic childhood. I can’t imagine anyone living through what she did and coming through it (mostly) healthy and whole. She was protective of the people she loved and so brave at times both emotionally, and by putting herself in actual danger, it brought tears to my eyes.

I liked Steele, he wasn’t my favorite CF hero ever, but he was protective, fierce, and he loved Breezy for precisely who she was. I enjoy that each MC member has a small touch of psychic abilities. It seemed like CF was trying to keep this series contemporary but couldn’t quite manage it.

The only part that knocked this book down one star was the jumbled ending. It seemed like CF wanted to let us learn a little bit more about the other MC members, which I appreciated but the last part just didn’t fit with the rest of the story. It didn’t take away from my love of Breezy and Steele in the least, but it did pull me out of the story a small amount.

Overall, Christine Feehan is one of the best romance authors out there. She writes consistently great characters. Her imagination simply astounds me. I am officially a huge fan of this series, and I can’t wait for the next book! I am guessing it’s Savage’s story (fingers crossed)!

Vengeance Road by Christine Feehan
Release Date 01/29/2019
Review by SKO
By the time she was 14 years old Breezy Simmons was exposed to atrocities that no child should experience. Meeting Steel and falling in love she did not expect such rejection from him as to be sent away, not knowing it was done for her own safety and well being. Breezy made a life for herself and her child until her own father and brother took her son away from her. Breezy did the only think a mother could do and reached out to Torpedo INK and Steel to find their son.
When Lyov Rsussak known as Steel sent Breezy away for her own protection it broke him, as much as it broke Breezy’s heart. After reading Breezy’s letter and learning he had a son and he was in danger Steel will stop at nothing to get his son back, and Breezy.
Vengeance Road is book 2 in the Torpedo INK novels. As much as I enjoy reading Christine Feehan books, I have to say this one was hard for me to read at times as much as Hidden Currents because it covers a very hard and serious topic of child abuse and pedophilia. Reading about Steels torturous childhood was painful that choked me up at times and brought me to tears, which only testifies to Ms. Feehan’s gift of writing. In spite of all the action and suspense, I find Breezy and Steel’s love story touching and heartwarming. As in all of her books Ms Feehan emphasis is on love, family and friends. We see that in how the Torpedo INK rally up with Steel and help him and Breezy find their son because to them Steel and Breezy are family, and family takes care of each other.
Each book is stand alone novel, however reading Drake Sister’s novels, and Sisters of The Heart novels is helpful since Torpedo INK novels take up where Sisters of The Heart last novel Bound Together left off. Looking forward to the next book in the series!
What to live longer? Read a book! Until next time, happy reading!

A volatile second chance…

I swear the first reads of this author’s stories are done in sonic time, I’m so anxious to devour them! Of course that means I reread them, savoring slowly (at least I make an attempt) the next time around. I admit, Breezy and Steele’s story has been read at least twice (so far)…

Their second chance was rife with anger and resentment, shock and stubbornness. Each emotion reared its head as their reunion was anything but warm. And those emotions? Yeah, I felt each and every one.

Steele was blindsided by Breezy’s return and realizing the devastation he’d caused. Strong and protective, his gentleness came out in so many different ways. He vowed to fix his mistakes while making Breezy his once and for all. She had suffered the fallout of his actions, true, but she wasn’t looking for love any longer. She needed his help desperately, and she asked for it, but that was all. She had grown up a lot and she was determined to continue standing on her own two feet…

They were both forces of nature with the hurt, the passion - their love – always bubbling under the surface. Mix that with danger, and a few surprises, and you have another great addition to this addictive series! ~Diane, 5 stars

4.5 stars--

ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date January 29, 2019

Breezy Simmons was born into a ruthless motorcycle club—and now that she’s out, she’s never going to be that girl again. But when her past catches up with her, Breezy must go to Sea Haven to seek out the man who almost destroyed her. The man who chose his club over her and left her feeling used and alone.

As vice president of Torpedo Ink, Steele is ride or die for the brothers he lived through hell with. He never thought he’d find something as pure as his feelings for Breezy, or that keeping her safe would mean driving her away with cruel words that turned her love for him to ash.

Now, Steele won’t let her walk away twice. He’ll do whatever it takes to make Breezy his woman again—especially when he learns the real reason she came to him for help, and that the stakes are higher than he ever could have imagined

••••••••••

REVIEW: 4.5 stars--VENGEANCE ROAD is the second instalment in Christine Feehan’s contemporary, adult TORPEDO INK slighty-paranormal, erotic romance series focusing on the men and women of the Torpedo Ink MC. This is Breezy Simmons, and Torpedo Ink MC vice president Lyov ‘Steele’ Russak’s story line. VENGEANCE ROAD can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous instalment is revealed where necessary. The TORPEDO INK series is a spin-off from the author’s SEA HAVEN SERIES but you do not have to have read the original series to follow Torpedo Ink.

NOTE: Most of the characters including Torpedo Ink club president Victor ‘Czar’ Prakenski, and his wife Blythe Daniels were introduced in the final instalment of the author’s Sea Haven Series BOUND TOGETHER.

WARNING: VENGEANCE ROAD contains scenes, and makes reference to graphic violence, rape, murder, torture, child prostitution, and abuse against children, women and men, and therefore, may not be suitable for all readers.

SOME BACKGROUND: At the tender age of ten years old, Victor ‘Czar’ Prakenski set about to save and rescue over three hundred children from one of four Russian child sex-slave operations but in the end only eighteen survived. The Torpedo Ink series focuses on the survivors: their stories, their history, and their happily ever afters.

Told from dual third person perspectives (Steele and Breezy) VENGEANCE ROAD follows the second chance romance between Breezy Simmons, and Torpedo Ink MC vice president Lyov ‘Steele’ Russak. Four years earlier Lyov ‘Steele’ Russak went undercover with the Swords MC where he met and fell for Breezy Simmons, the daughter of the Swords MC President. Things went from bad to worse when secrets were revealed, and Steele maliciously pushed Breezy out of his life. Fast forward to present day wherein Breezy is desperate for Steele and Torpedo Ink MC help, help she knows will permanently bring Steele back into her life. What ensues is the rebuilding relationship and romance between Steele and Breezy, and the potential fall-out as Breezy is unable to come to terms between the man that she loves, and the man who pushed her out of his life.

Steele is a natural healer but like all of the Russian sex-slave survivors, Steele is a trained assassin; a stone-cold killer who isn’t afraid of protecting the people he loves. When Breezy’s past begins to spiral out of control threatening everything and everyone she loves, Steele and his Torpedo Ink family make it their priority to save one of their own.

The relationship between Breezy and Steele is one of second chances; a rekindling romance that struggles with sins of the past, and Steele’s treatment of our heroine three years earlier. Steele struggles with the memories of his time spent as a child sex-slave for the Russian mob, memories that continue to haunt our story line (anti) hero. The $ex scenes are intimate, erotic, aggressive and intense.

There is a large ensemble cast of colorful and charismatic secondary and supporting characters-Steele’s Torpedo Ink family- a family of survivors who have endured years of torture, rape, abuse and an education in the world of the deviant and sick.

The world building continues to focus on the years of abuse suffered at the hands of the Russian mob: the recovery and revenge; the betrayal and ramifications; the heart break, and damage caused to a group of children (now adults) and their struggle to accept, grieve and move forward with lives. As I have stated before in many of my reviews, I have remarked on the author’s increasing violent story lines and abuse against women and children but in the case of the Torpedo Ink series, the violence is part of their history and lives-ingrained and imbedded –into their very existence. The story line heroes are not the perpetrators of the violence and abuse against the women they love but are the saviors and salvation of those who suffered years before.

VENGEANCE ROAD is a heart breaking, painful and graphic story line of abuse and betrayal; vengeance and retribution. The characters are animated, broken but recovering; the romance is hard and impassioned. Christine Feehan pulls the reader into the dark and gritty world of Torpedo Ink.

This series is very dark. There a lot of Trigger warnings. Rape, child abuse, sexual assault, pedophilia, mental illness. and PTSD.

Its very good but very harsh. I really enjoyed the first one in the series and I was/am excited to push forward with this MC series. This series about an MC that rescues children from sex slavery and makes a home for lost people. They main crew has certain special skills and they all use them in their mission.

This entry is a 2nd chance romance for Breezy and Steele (The MC Doctor and VP). Its also an Age Gap and Steele was unaware of how much of an age gap it was until too late. So he carries a lot of guilt about being a man who kills pedophiles and then he was sleeping with a teenager. But when we enter the story at this point, its been 3 years since Steele had to break Bree's heart when Torpedo Ink took down her father's crooked MC.

Now 3 years later, she reappers and needs his help to save their 2 1/2 year old son. A son he never knew existed.

There is a lot of angst. Lots of sexy times. And quite a bit of grovelling.

My biggest issue is how long this one is. Also how repetitive the arguments are. I was soooo sick of certain statements and reasoning by the end. I was skimming and skipping certain passages because they were just too much for me.

These characters will get deep in her soul. I can't wait to continue.

Steelers is the VP of Torpedo Ink. He lives and dies for his brothers and sisters. He drove the one woman he loved away to save her from the war between the Swords and Torpedo Ink. Now he has a second chance to win her back.

Breezy Simmons was born in the cruel and abusive Swords motorcycle club. Driven away by the one man who owned her heart, she learns to make it on her own. Now she must seek him out to help her get someone back. Someone the Swords have taken.

This is one steamy, sexy novel. I mean hot, hot, hot. I feel as if the sex was 60% of the novel. Told mainly from the hero's viewpoint, we learn about the abuse, torture and sexual abuse used to turn Steele into a killer. Breezy is a great counterpoint to Steele. She has read about PTSD and recognizes the symptoms in him. The plot is straightforward. The loyalty between Steele and his brothers and sisters is felt and is real. This is the second book in the series and I look forward to the next.

Steele was a great character and it was nice to hear his backstory as terrible as it was. Breezy also had a horrible background and was convinced she was done with MC's. When she has to have help to get her son back she turns to Steele. Loved the interaction and the story. Heads up there is lots of sex but also some sweet times. Love the secondary characters from previous books and am enjoying the ride as these characters build a life and try to learn what is norm.

Vengeance Road

The eighteen members of the Torpedo Ink MC had grown up living under a death sentence, forging an unbreakable bond made of shared experiences rather than that of blood. It honed them into weapons. It also taught them what is truly important...family.

Breezy Simmons, brought up in a violent motorcycle club that treated its women as a commodity to further club business, thought she had found love and safety in the arms of Steele. He, however, betrayed her, kicking her out of his bed, life and the club that was the only world she had ever known. What he wasn’t aware of was that she had more steel in her spine than he had in his name.

Torpedo Ink’s Vice President, Steele, has been living the past years since he kicked Breezy out of his life so brutally day by day. Having lost the one woman for him, his total focus is on Torpedo Ink and their plan to build a new, legal life for his brothers and sisters until Breezy walks into the clubhouse and demands his help. Even as she finds him lying with three women, he knows that he won’t let his woman out of his life a second time.

Breezy comes to find Steele for one purpose only, to retrieve what was taken from her. She doesn’t want him, she’d made it on her own and she wasn’t ever going back to motorcycle club life. Steele is just as adamant that he won’t make the same mistakes and lose her. He however underestimates how deep her distaste for club life is. The struggle to make the Breezy believe he is going to make the most of the second chance he’s been given and Breezy’s adamant refusal to believe that Torpedo Ink is different than most MC’s is the basis of some of the most intense dialogue and the funniest reactions of his siblings.

Vengeance Road, a ride of deep, sometimes blind emotion, brutal, ruthless action and the always-underlining staple of Christine Feehan’s stories, family. The bond between the Torpedo Ink members is at the same time a sky-high barrier to a happily ever after for Steele and Breezy and yet the only way to return what has been taken from them, both physically and emotionally. The Torpedo Ink members are alternately funny and scary as they work to make sure their brother’s second chance ends in happiness, which of course is the best part of a Christine Feehan novel. You always have a happy ending!!

Three years ago, while under cover in another MCC Steele met the love of his life. Due to circumstances beyond his control he had to cut her out of his life. Now she is back and needing his help.
Breezy Simmons lived most of her life in the Swords MCC and then she met Steele and thought she had found the one. Then one day Steele says some hateful words to her and has her banned from the club. Since that time, Breezy has learned how to stand on her own and wants nothing to do with any clubs ever again.
Vengeance Road is the second book in the Torpedo Ink series and it does not disappoint. This book is appropriately titled as Breezy, Steele and the members of Torpedo Ink work together to track down her father and vengeance is eventually extracted. This book has all the feels. Steele and Breezy both will break your hearts as they come to terms with each others past and try to work things out between them. Breezy also learns that not all MCCs are alike and just maybe she could be happy with Torpedo Ink.
Yes, there is lots of sex and violence. This book may not be everyone’s cup of tea but if you do decide to go down Vengeance Road, you will not regret it.

When I initially saw the title of the newest Torpedo Ink book was Vengeance Road, I was honestly expecting something entirely different from what Christine gave us.

Steele and Breezy's story is a true story of strength. Strength to overcome your past and have a future, Strength to forgive when you thought you couldn't forgive or be forgiven for things in your past that you couldn't control, Strength of family when you feel that you are on your own with no one to turn to, Strength of love that not only makes you the person you want to be but allows you grow and thrive, Strength of knowing that no matter what demons you have faced or may face you will no longer have to face them alone, Strength of trust between two people, who have never been given a reason to trust someone else with their heart and soul.

You definitely don't want to miss this story.

I received a free copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads.

Its a good idea to read the books in order so you won't be lost, but I think this book could be read as a standalone.

Steele is the VP of Torpedo Ink. They are a biker club who are seeking to right some of the wrongs of the world. The men and women of Torpedo Ink were raised in "boarding schools" in Russia where they learned things that most adults never do: how to fight, seduce people and how to kill. Those who were strong, survived. The survivors carry the guilt and weight of those who did not.

Steele met Breezy when he infiltrated her father's biker gang. That club was part of a larger group that trafficked men, women and children for their own enjoyment and monetary gain. Steele loves Breezy but he knows that he has to send her away so that when the club falls, she will not be caught in the middle.

Now, she's back. Its been three years since he sent her packing and he hasn't been able to find her. She hid herself well, but her father and brother managed to find her and now they are using something she holds near and dear against her, to make her do their bidding. Kill Steele.

When Steele finds out that they beat up Breezy and are now holding their son hostage until they know for sure that Steele is dead, he's determined to bring down everyone that had a hand in hurting Breezy and their child.

The characters of Steele and Breezy are well written and the reader can feel the emotions humming on the page. Both Steele and Breezy have a lot of guilt and angst to confront and deal with before they can truly make a relationship work.

I enjoyed this story and can't wait for the next book in the series.
