Three sexy dragon shifters and a fierce heroine in a young adult reverse harem full of adventure and romance…

Lila McCarty used to see dragons.

That was before they killed her mother, before she told everyone what happened and people stamped the “crazy” label on her head. Now, as a senior in high school, she has no time for dragon legends or the tourists who putter around her lighthouse. She just wants to graduate and get the hell out.

But when twelve of Lila’s classmates, including her best friend, mysteriously vanish during the town’s dragon festivities, she tracks down the three mysterious guys who seem to know more than they let on. They’re sexy and infuriatingly charming, though that has nothing to do with why she’s enlisting their help.

It turns out Lila wasn’t crazy. Dragons are real. Not only that, the three dragon shifters have answers: her past, her role in their hidden world. It’s Lila’s duty to save her friends, whether she likes it or not.

When her classmates start turning up dead, she’s on a race against the clock--find the killer, or lose them all.

*** Leap into USA Today bestselling author Ingrid Seymour and Katie French's action-packed adventure, a Young Adult Dragon Shifter Reverse Harem Romance with a fierce heroine. Kissing, mild language, and double-meaning.
*** First in series. Should be read in order.

I though Luminous was a great YA urban fantasy read with tons of imagination and great world building. The reverse harem is extremely subtle and does not overtake the story. In fact I would have liked to see a little more interaction between Lily and the 3 boys but I am guessing that will come in book 2. This story had me entranced from start to finish and I look forward to seeing where Lily's journey leads her next.

"It's just an ancient hole in the ground, Lila. What could possibly go wrong?"

Lila will do anything to make sure she and her father aren't forced to move out of their home, even if it means doing her father's job of lighting the lamp in the tall historic lighthouse twice a day since his illness means he can't. While making the trek to the lighthouse one night during a storm, Lila swears she sees something rise from the lake, almost dragon like. But she must be seeing things, the dragon legends are just that- Legends... right?

I absolutely loved Lila right from her first appearance in the book. She was independent, caring, and resilient, and her affinity for rescuing wild life was endearing. Then when she went ahead and interfered in a mean girl getting potentially date raped I knew that Lila and I would have a long lasting love. I read someone else's review of the book and they mentioned that Ingrid is know for having strong, tough female characters so if Lila is an example of that, then I need to read more from Ingrid.

Mercedes, Lila's best friend, was my second favorite character in the story, even though her role in the plot was unfortunately cut short due to the whole going missing thing, but still her personality was big enough to win me over regardless of our short time together. She was fun, outrageous, fearless as well as supportive and protective over Lila. The interactions between her and Lila were hysterical. For example:

"For me, I'm on the prowl. Mama needs to get herself a date for prom- one who is da bomb."
"Since when did you start to refer to yourself as mama, and can I also call you that?"
"Do it at your own peril."

I found this more to be a paranormal mystery than a love story (or the typical RH where romance is key, plot maybe comes in second...if at all), which I very much appreciated. The plot was the focus of the book and little tiny pieces of truth kernels were dropped along the way to hook the reader and lead Lila to answers- and more questions about herself. Sure there were three attractive and very different guys introduced in the story, but they did not take center focus, instead we care about Lila, her friends, the truth...and about dragons. We always care about dragons!

"The first rule of Dragon Club," Santiago said, smirking, "is you don't talk about Dragon Club."

But anyway, I really enjoyed this fast, engaging, completely different read and without out a doubt I will be reading the rest of the book in the series as soon as they are available!

I am voluntarily reviewing an advance, complimentary copy of this book.

I normally don't read fantasy books that have dragons in them, but I actually really enjoyed this book! I'm a huge fan of Ingrid Seymour's writing and this one's no different. The first half of the book was a bit slow and there were too many mysteries and not enough answers. However, things quickly picked up at the halfway point and everything was explained. Lots of action in the second half. Very well written book and well developed main character. I'm excited to read the next book once it comes out!

As with all of Ingrid's books, there features a strong willed heroine, Lila. She's just been looking after the lighthouse, but there are creatures in the dark who have been waiting for her to come into her own.
The boy she crushes over finally invites her to a bonfire party, and cancels on her within the spate of a day. She decides to go anyway. That's when he distracts her for a while and when she returns to the bonfire, everyone is gone.
Now Lila must find her friends before they end up dead. That means she needs to trust new people, discover a secret world and wonder if the dragons from her imagination as a child were real people! Not to mention figuring out just how she is the new guardian!

I am not a big fan of romance novels, but as I had read – and loved – other works by Ingrid Seymour, I was keen to give this book a go, and thoroughly enjoyed it. After all – it involved dragons, which is always a big positive for me.
The book is marketed as a reverse harem adventure romance, but for me the major appeal was the very strong female central figure (and narrator) Lily, and the ever-present sense of humour – even amid the dire situations that arise.
Lily is serious about her school work, which she sees as a much-needed escape route out of her claustrophobic small home town: “Yet, how could I stay in this little town with Dad? Stuck like a mosquito in amber. Forever frozen”. She has no time for parties, and little time for boys – although Tom is really very attractive and appealing. Against her better judgement, she accepts an invitation from Tom to go to the end-of-year beach party. Cue some blushing from Lily, and jealous looks from the other girls, as Tom is definitely male hottie #1 at school. Or is he? Suddenly, Tom is in the company of two other amazing looking guys, Santiago and Ki, who claim to be exchange students, but whom no-one has ever seen before.
Then Tom lets her down! Too late to change her plans, Lily goes to the party with her best female friend, and that is where all the adventure and danger progress from.
This book involves dragons. Lily used to see dragons before the tragic death of her mother. There are three supernaturally gorgeous looking guys in a town full of dragon myths, so it is obvious (and not really a spoiler) to discover that they are indeed shapeshifting dragons (even more stunning in their dragon forms), and also obvious that Lily will find them all rather attractive (who wouldn’t!).
But Lily is not some simpering idiot who dives into the arms of the first (or second, or third) hunk on offer. She has friends to save and a destiny to understand. If the boys will not help, then no amount of adorable posing and smirking will sway her (though a very hot kiss comes close).
Lily embraces her role as a Dragon Warden, without having the slightest idea what it entails. She has a magic ring and a sword – but no manual or training to explain how to use them. Her first attempt at swordsmanship is comically realistic.
This book is full of clichés, but instead of being stifled by them, it positively revels in them. Lily is very aware of being in a fantasy-horror-adventure genre, discussing probable outcomes with herself: ““It’s just an ancient hole in the ground, Lila. What could possibly go wrong?” … So I was getting the hell out before whatever was in the water grabbed me. I’d watched enough horror movies to know how that went down”. You immediately know that Tara Palmer is evil incarnate, because she tortures a dog (number one sign of a budding psychopath and/or serial killer). Teens have to show their parents the morally right way to act. And it is not over until the monster dies (or comes back and then dies, or doesn’t die at all …).
Tara Palmer is probably the only flaw in the story. You never really understand what her machinations are supposed to achieve, what her motivation is (apart from just being evil), but maybe that will become clear in the next book.
I loved this book, and could barely put it down (despite having an important assignment due in). All my misgiving about reading a romance have flown out the window. I have to read the next in the series.
I received an Advanced Reader Copy of this book at no cost from the authors in exchange for an honest review

YOU ABSOLUTELY HAVE TO READ THIS STORY!!!
As per the norm I was not disappointed in any way, shape or form. I have read what these amazing authors do solo, but when you add both to the mix you are always left speachless with the overwhelming talent these ladies present. Talk about getting to the nitty gritty of the situation these two perform magic. I was drawn in at the very beginning and I couldn't turn the pages fast enough. I had to know what was next. What's going to happen now. I mean with these gifted writers here the possibilities are endless. Its like they connect on whole different realm than the rest of us. Genius! I could go on and on about what happens here, what is she gonna do now. Hows she going to get out of this one. But because I'm me, I do things my way. Cause seriously who wants to read something boring enough to put 'em to sleep. Yeah, you know what talking about. The characters were absolutely the stand up and take notice types. The scenes were literally out of this world with vivid descriptions that bring you right to the center and your held mesmerized as everything is brought to life, your just like spellbound. The scenes were complex and added the spice that keeps your imagination thats already entwined with Ingrid and Katie, kind of like a mind link and your afraid to blink afraid you'd miss something. I loved following the main character as she tried to harness her gifts and frigure out why her friends were taken. Oh yeah, she is one bad a** female and doesn't back down. No sir she stands her ground. I really feel a warning is in order here and you'll thank me later. When you get your copy, you better grab a snack, a comfy seat, kick back and relax. You won't be putting this little gem down for a second. I'm not kidding this tale gets under your skin and you have got to know what happens. Yes, I'm aware I used the same phrase, but its true. You have it all here with this little guy. You have your action, excitement, adventure, adrenaline rush, heart pounding moments that you'll be like what... its a duh moment thank you. Ladies you have done an excellent job with this read. I love the way you brought it all together in such an astounding way. Thank you both so much for sharing this awesome read with us.

Interesting use of the word Warden

Lila lives with her dad by the water. She helps him take care of the lighthouse. Lila's mother died when she was ten years old. Before her mom died they all lived a I've filled with the belief that dragons existed, Lila had stuffed dragons, her parents read her stories about dragons, they laid on the beach to watch for dragons, when her mom died, her dad made all the Dragon belief go away. Lila is 17 now and is drawn to her mom's jewelry box, a ring that her mom used to always wear.
This is a clean story no sex scenes. It's very well written. I liked the soundness of the Lila character, she stands up to a dragon and no it's nothing about her being a "mate" to any of them. Not just 1 dragon, but several and calls them on their crap. I' m hoping to get more detail about why Tara is doing what she was in the next book (Nebulous). I like the storyline. I would have liked to seen other female dragons besides the evil Tara.

I thought this book was a fast paced mystery paranormal. I didn’t realize it was a RH till I read the blurb after I grabbed it. (Oops) no matter. It seems to be a slow burn kinda RH so I’m LOVING it so far.
We followed Lila who is the main character in this book and she takes front and center. We do meet a trio of very handsome guys but again all the focus is on Lila and solving the mystery.
I was hooked from the very beginning of listening to the audiobook. I must say that the narrator is fabulous and did very well portraying the guys voices. She brought the story alive for me. Will move on to book 2!

This story is about a young woman, Lila McCarty, who lives with her Dad in a lighthouse situated on a lake in an older style town. The town has a history of rumours and legends of Dragons, and whilst there is not actual evidence, those that live there all have their varying levels of belief. Lila was obsessed as a child, until her Mother died in a drowning accident.
Lila was left a ring, shaped like a Dragon, which she never wears, as she was scared by it as a child.
The story starts rather nicely, giving us background of Lila, her friends and family, the town and its legends. It builds some great characters, and very quickly you become invested not just in Lila, but her Father as well as some of her friends as well. There is also some mystery that develops rather quickly about a boy at school Tom Palmer, and an even deeper one about his mother Tara Palmer. It becomes even worse when Tom introduces her to two of his international friends Ki and Santiago.
Whilst things seem ok on the surface for Lila, we do learn that she is having some issues with her Mother’s death, and coping with looking after her Dad, who cannot now look after the Lighthouse properly, and Lila is the one who lights the Candle in the lighthouse every night.
However, her Dad and friends coerce her to a party at the beach, and it is there that the story really starts to unfold, as Lila finds gets distracted for a minute, and when she returns, finds everyone gone.
All of a sudden this book goes from being about Lila and her somewhat interesting life, and a couple of very interesting characters, to a dark mystery. And at the middle of it, Lila is sure that Dragons are involved.
This is just a great fun read for young adults, and anyone who enjoys a good bit of urban fantasy. Lila’s character is just outstanding, as although she is somewhat shy in some circumstances, given others, she has some of the funniest one liners. If you have had anything to do with Katie French, you just know that Lila is definitely from her influence, as she has a wicked sense of humour.
This story has a great storyline, no doubting that, but the thing that really makes it work, is the exceptional characters. Lila as discussed is fantastic as our confused, young women with a tongue that can burn if you are on the wrong side of it. But the other characters are equally interesting the over protective Dad is just spot on, her best friend, who is loyal to the last, but is still a bit stuck with how to help her. The boy she likes, and who likes her, but has a psycho for a Mum, and a secret of his own, plus some interesting friends, Santiago is just hilarious.
However, the characters are spot on. Even the bored cop when Lila comes to report that her friends are missing, ‘Yes miss, a bunch of teenagers, on the beach just disappeared…sure….Get right on it….’, because really, been Punked recently? It is just very realistic and well done, gives the book some depth and allows you to really fall into it without the ‘As If’ moments.
This is a story that is partly about coming of age, part mystery, part action/adventure, but there is definitely the mystical edge to it as well. It is one of those stories that you read, and just can’t stop reading, wondering both what is going to happen next, who the actual bad guys and good guys are, and more importantly, are Dragons for real? It is like a story taking place on the edge of the Loch Ness, and there being an event that could involve Nessie, but maybe it isn't, and you aren’t quite sure, and all of a sudden, 3 hours and passed and you have to get up in a few hours..
I have to say that I am not a big reader of Urban Fantasy, I am more into Sci-Fi (where I know Katie French from her other series Breeders), however, this is well worth the read, regardless of genre.
Overall – this is a fantastic first part to what is obviously going to be an exceptional series, and for me, I am dying to read part 2 – only annoying thing when you read part 1 of a series that you don’t have all the bits to, you get to wait!! If you like Urban Fantasy, a good action story, or just a good fun read – get into this, you will enjoy it!!

I got to listen to this book for free in exchange for an honest review. I am SO glad I did, because I loved it! This would have absolutely been worth my audible credit.

Firstly, Kasi Hollowell was an excellent narrator. I really enjoyed her work and will be looking for more of it in the future.

As for story, I really liked Lila and her adventure. I am really looking forward to the next part of the series to see how things play out. I don’t want spoil anything here, so… yeah, it’ll be good! The story feels original, and is engaging. Lila is kinda dorky, but smart and tenacious. I love a heroine with gumption, and a stubborn spirit. She definitely fits the bill!

My only real critique on this one is that I would have liked to have gotten more development with the guys. I’m ok with that, though, because I suspect there will be a lot more of that in the next part, now that we have gotten to know Lila. On the one hand I want more of the guys, but on the other I appreciate that this part of the story is all about HER, developing who she is and why she’s worth knowing about.

This is a reverse harem situation, however, it’s super subtle. It doesn’t feel like one, and it feels much more plausible that these guys would be into her than in some of the others that I’ve read. There really isn’t any overt romance in this, aside from a single kiss, which is brief. Honestly, there is so much going on in her adventure that she just doesn’t have time for romance.

I’m looking forward to seeing how Lila develops her abilities, as well as to finding out more about her role as the Dragon Warden. There is still a lot of mystery surrounding that title, and I’m interested in the further development of this world.

This was a very enjoyable listen, entertaining story, I’ll definitely listen to it again AND I’ll be getting the next book for sure. Highly recommend!

This is the first book I have read by this author and I am so glad that i read this book, it drew me right in from the first book, it is extremely compelling and addictive, its a book that you can't put down, you just can't stop reading it.

I loved the way that this author wrote this storyline with such warmth, it is obvious how much love went I to creating this magical world with all the characters within it. There is a lot of secrecy within this storyline, so many unknowns and I love how you find out some of these secrets at the same time as the characters. This is most definitely a thrilling, action packed and exciting story that will keep all readers hooked on every word, making you want to know more.

It is so amazing reading Lila’s story, I adore her character! There is so much that she has been through in her young life, so much pain and anguish that it is surprising at how positive she is, how she always wants to help and protect others, she has a strong sense of right and wrong and she will always do what she feels is the right thing to do, no matter the consequences to herself, she will willingly put herself in danger to save those that she cares about, her capacity to love is enormous!!! I loved reading about her three dragon's, each one so different from each other in their personality, histories and opinions and I think that's why they are rather addictive to read about as you just want to know more about them.

This is an amazing book that I adored, the way the storyline and characters are written makes this book so amazing, I can't rate this author's work high enough and I am really excited to read more of her work!!!!

Just when you think you know nearly every angle a Dragon storyline can take, you come across Luminous by Ingrid Seymour & Katie French. They have transcended traditional ideas and created meaningful new ideas, forms and methods interpreting them into the creativity of their imaginations. Dragons are a favourite of mine and where you may sometimes come across a nasty dragon, this storyline goes much deeper into that idea. Friendships are tested, beliefs are tested, traditions are tested. The story is told in the first person by the main female lead. She had her dreams ripped away from her and just existed as much as she needed to. Now she lives, now her dreams and fears are real. These 2 authors well defined writing enables you to believe in the world they created, believe in every moment of happiness, friendship, smile and love. But then they make you believe in every terror, tears, and heart stopping moment, that has you causing half moons into your own palms as the tension builds, then explodes. Luminous is a great name for this series, as it really does try and shine light into dark moments of the Dragons world. The reverse haram aspect is so creatively written that it feels natural. This is a brilliant start to a new series, it captured me and will keep me coming back for more

This is a story written for young adults that I think young adults would like. A teenager, Lily, who had lost her mom when she was eight discovers dragons living near her home and the boy she has a crush on is one of them. And his mother who was the local vet has lost her evil mind. Lily also discovers a magical power in her mother’s ring left to her when she had died. I found that Lily has a very determined mind who will not stop at trying to find out what happened to her friends who all disappeared one night during a beach party. I think the authors of this book did a great job of describing the characters and the settings that the reader can easily imagine. And even though it was written at the YA level and I am definitely not that young any more, I still enjoyed reading this book. However, I believe that Lily went a little overboard acting like a drama queen but I think the young adults would love it. I received this book for free for an honest review.

Luminous is an entertaining read that kept my attention from the beginning. I enjoyed the story and the writing, and found myself digging the "reverse harem" aspect, though I've always been a little wary of that particular plot device. The book moves along at a fast clip from the first page, but sometimes it moves a little too quickly. I normally like fast-paced books, because I feel I become more immersed in the story, however, there were important plot points left unaddressed in order to accommodate the pacing. For instance, what did the townspeople think had happened to their missing children? What did the meeting between Katie and the dragon elders look like? Additionally, the male characters really could have used some further development. I very much look forward to reading the next book, but hope the authors will dedicate more time to the details in the sequel.
This book was provided to me at no charge. My review is voluntarily given.

This story is about a strong young woman, Lila McCarty, who used to see dragons – at least until her mom died and she no longer wanted to deal with people doubting her. The town itself has its dragon legends, although there is no proof they exist. Yet we are teased with that possibility. Lila was not told of her own history but was given a dragon ring which she keeps in a jewelry box. What is the significance of that ring? Will she find out?

At a party on the beach, a number of Lila’s friends disappear and this begins a deeper mystery, which Lila strongly believes may involve dragons! What happened to her friends? Can she find them and get them back safely? Who are the mysterious guys and what do they know?

This is a great book with a strong, well-paced story line and wonderful, likable characters. This is only the start with more excitement to come. Grab your copy now and jump into the action and suspense of a story well told!

This book will keep you wanting to read. I feel that teens and young adults would love this book. We have Lily who lost her mother and lives with her dad keeping care of the lighthouse. Lily does not know why they can't upgrade the lighthouse, but she knows if they don't take care of it they will have to leave and she does not want that. Lily believed in dragons when she was little, but after her mother died she stopped, but kept her mothers jewelry box that hold a dragon ring. After a party on the beach she is now thrown into a place of dragons, magic and conflict. What will she do? Can she find her friends? Can she save her new dragon friends? Can she love a dragon? What is going to happen since she took this path? A amazing book. I received and arc copy for my honest review.

My first thought about this book when I saw it billed as a reverse harem nope, not at all. But then I thought more about it and agree that it is a reverse harem just not like all the others I've read this last few months. For one this book feels like a Young Adult book more than a New Adult. It is extremely tame in the romance department and most of the book had none at all. This isn't a slam, I loved this book as Fantasy, a genre that I also enjoy. I just wouldn't call it a RH. The mystery and action in this book keep me turning pages into the wee hours and I had a difficult time putting it down at all. The characters are unique and interesting. I loved this story. I just think readers should know what they're getting is all. So no steam but still a great read for a YA Fantasy read. And I will definitely be reading the next one.

First, I want to say that even though this is a YA book, I thoroughly enjoyed it.  The concept is urban fantasy and the world building is very good.  I like the idea of a reverse harem and I am thinking that it will become more prominent in the books to come.
I loved the storyline...Lila is a strong heroine and takes on the strange world of dragons fearlessly. She starts the story presumed crazy for saying she has seen dragons, and becomes immersed in dragons as the story goes on.  I can't wait to see her character developed.

There is romance, intrigue, and a satisfying story to tickle the imagination.
I loved it!  Hurry with the next one :)
I received an ARC copy to review.
I give it 5/5 stars...great work Katie French and Ingrid Seymour

Superb read. Well written, with a great plot and characters. I couldn't turn the pages fast enough, I was engrossed from start to finish. This book has elements of dragon shifters, magic and conflict. Lily lost her mother and lives with her dad taking care of the lighthouse. They can't upgrade the lighthouse, but if they don't take care of it they will have to leave. Lily believed in dragons when she was little, but after her mother died she stopped. She kept her mothers jewelry box, that holds a dragon ring. Her friends go missing. She meets 3 new sexy, charming guys.....could they know something about her missing friends? Here there be Dragons.

After reading this book I am left with more questions than answers. There is little backstory I wanted more information on the dragons, the town, Lila and her mum. What is a warden and what evil plans are in motion. A lot of these questions were unanswered and that kind of puzzled me as I wanted to know why the kids were kidnapped, what was the end game. I would have liked more interaction with Lila and Mercedes instead of just reading about it after the event. The boys seem nice superficially but as we don't know their history or enough about them it is difficult to become invested in their journey. Maybe book 2 will address these questions? I hope so as it was a fun book to read.

Lila is a young woman on a mission to keep those she loves safe. She has just discovered the world of dragon shifters and her unique role in it. She has quite a battle ahead of her but she won;t back down.

I enjoyed the story and the characters. I really liked Lila. She is strong in spirit and willing to take risks to protect others. She really has a horrible introduction to this paranormal world but it does bring her to the attention of three young men that become an important part of her life.

It left me very interested in learning more about them all and seeing the relationship grow,

A fun read

Firstly although I've given this book 3 * there was nothing wrong with it as such it just lacked some of the depth I crave in books. That being said I'm sure reading book 2 when it's releases will allow that character depth and relationship to develop more.

This book is YA in nature in my opinion and as a reverse harem book I have to admit I had expected alittle more heat. It was very high school crush but that is because the characters are high school students so I suppose I would complain if it got to kinky too.

All in all in was a nice fun read with the potential to be great as the series continues.

I quite enjoyed Lila’s journey. It’s about a small town mystery that has yet to be solved. There’s a bit of coming to age in Lila’s story. She’s a girl in high school that has tragically lost her mother. The loss leads her to stop believing in certain things. Things that she might just have need for in the future.
I liked Lila. I felt she was great character. She’s young and a bit ignorant to things but she adapts quickly and has a hunger for knowledge. She’s courageous, strong, compassionate and determined.
Luminous is just the beginning for Lila and her friends. I’m excited to see how their characters develop in the next part of their quest.

Lila and her ailing father are struggling. One night just about her entire class disappears without a trace. As she tries to find out more information an old story about dragons starts to seem not all that unbelievable.

I really loved the idea of this ...but the whole thing was way too drawn out. I feel like the first half was super slow and then the second was just kind of a rapid reveal of everything. I liked that Lila felt so strongly about her friends and animals but things got repetitive.

Lila slowly rediscovers that the dragon-stories her mum used to tell as a child, are true. Terrible things happen. And she, with some dragon help, is the one to stop it! She is the Dragon Warden, after all...
A fierce, magical story filled with action, love and dragon-shifters.
I can't wait to read part 2 and find out what happens next!
I received a copy and no dragon (nor anyone else) forced me to write this review.

A very cool addicting story to start a series off. I loved the premise. I thought it was a great mix of dragons, myth, suspense, fighting and a touch of mystery that that just grabbed my attention and kept me glued to the end. Loved the twist on who the good guys and bad guys were. The story was well written and kept me guessing to the end. And book one was very clean in terms of sex even though it is a reverse harem story. Cannot wait to see what happens next.

Alright

This was a nice book but it needs a bit of editing to tighten the story up. You're given lots of mystery and at the end the barest of answers. I get that it's a series and that things will be answered later, but the way it's been handled so far left me confused and dissatisfied. The interpersonal relationships certainly need smoothing. It's a series with great potential but I won't be proceeding onto the next book.

Good book

Really enjoyed this book. Lila was brave never running from a fight even though she really had no idea what she was doing. At the same time she was extremely reckless and had almost no since of her own mortality. she wasn't afraid to tell it like it is and make sure people knew exactly how she felt about their inaction. The guys didn't get much page time so hopefully the next book we find out more about them.

This was listed as a reverse harem romance. It's not. She has a crush on one guy and makes a date with him; she thinks 2 other guys are cute. There's nothing that actually happens.

It is an interesting urban fantasy with dragons. Although there are some questions (why do the 2 foreign dragon dens come there?).

The villain is a cross between Frankenstein (creating a monster) and just a truly awful person.
