End of the Lie by Diana Rodriguez Wallach is third book of the thrilling young adult Anastasia Phoenix series. This is a continuing story that started with book one, Proof of Lies, and picks up with each additional installment so they should preferably be read in order to understand the action and adventure within.

In the first book we met Anastasia Phoenix who had always felt on the outs wherever she’d been since her scientist parents had moved the family all around the world over the years. When they said there was going to be yet another move Anastasia was of course upset and refused to speak to them as they left on yet another trip but little did she know that would be the last time she would see them when a horrible accident happened.

Time passed with Anastasia living with her older sister, Keira, after their parents accident until one night Keira decided to throw a party. The next morning Anastasia believed Keira had male company so she left only to return to find a bathroom full of blood and her sister missing. Already having lost her parents Anastasia was determined to find her sister when it seemed no one else even believed Keira was even still alive.

This series has been action packed and fast paced from the beginning with the lead reminding me of a teenage, female James Bond. The story takes readers around the globe and back again as she searches out her sister and those that were behind the kidnapping. There’s cover ups and conspiracies, danger and romance so a bit of something for everyone and having followed the whole series I was happy to jump right back in to find out where the story would go. In the end I would give End of the Lies 4 1/2 stars and certainly recommend checking out this series.

I received an advance copy from the publisher via NetGalley.

Please be aware that this is a book three, so my review will contain spoilers for the first books.

End of the Lie was a great way to conclude the Anastasia Phoenix trilogy.  I really enjoyed this book and thought it wrapped up well.

End of the Lie starts off where book two ended.  Anastasia, Keira, Julian, Charlotte, and Marcus are hiding out in Europe.  They have decided that they need to find all their parents and put an end to Department D.   Anastasia is still dealing with the news that Urban is her father and Keira is struggling with internet trolls after speaking openly about what happened to her.

After Tyson was killed, Regina changed.  She started making videos that she posted online about Department D and The Phoenix family.  She blamed Anastasia for Tyson's murder.  Because of this, she has put her life at risk.  Anastasia and Marcus fly back to Boston to talk to her, but when they get there, they are surprised to find out that Regina is gone.  Her parents believe she was kidnapped, but she left a note, so the police believe she ran away.  Detective Dawkins decides to help them by giving them all the info she has.  Marcus and Anastasia get closer while home, but they are quickly back in Europe hunting down their parents and trying to save Regina.

The whole team heads to multiple countries on the hunt for the parents.  They also find out that Regina left with Sophia, so they are looking for both of them.  It always seems like the parents are one step ahead of them.

The pacing was good and I enjoyed how everything finished.  I love Julian and Charlotte, so I was happy to see their relationship growing.  Same with Anastasia and Marcus.  This found family group worked well together and I enjoyed their friendship and love for each other.

I gave this book 4 stars.  Thank you to Entangled Teen and Netgalley for my copy for review.

This is the final book in a trilogy and I really enjoyed reading it. It is a YA version of a spy thriller. Anastasia's parents had helped creating a world that is dangerous and deceptive and now it is up to her to do protect herself and her friends before things get out of hands once again. Things are never as they seem and it is becoming more and more difficult for her to keep up with everything going on around her. Now, even her friends seem to have turned against them. There are rumors that her parents aren't even dead and they faked their own deaths to escape thisdangerous world. But did they really leave their two daughters behind to deal with it? And will Anastasia be able to stop the damage before it is too late... only time will tell.
I think it was a great end to this trilogy and I enjoyed how well-paced and well-written it is.
P.S. I received a complimentary copy of this book via NetGalley.

*Thoughts*

End of the Lie is the third and final chapter in the Anastasia Phoenix trilogy by author Diana Rodriquez Wallach. This story continues where Lies That Bind left off. Everything has changed for 17-year old Anastasia Phoenix. It started 4 years ago when her parents were presumed to be dead and her older sister Keira was forced into raising her alone. Then she was too was thought to be dead in a highly suspenseful first installment called Proof of Lies which sent Anastasia on a globe trotting adventure to discover some blistering truths about her family.

Having read and thoroughly enjoyed the first two books in this series, I was keen to read this finale. Even though it is almost a year since I finished the first two stories, the talented author quickly immersed me back into this thrilling story of family, espionage, deceit, danger and the dreaded Department D. The stories are written chronologically, each following on from events in the previous book, so I recommend reading them in the correct sequence so you understand just what is happening.

Anastasia Phoenix is hiding out in Europe with her sister, Keira, and their friends Julian, Charlotte and Marcus. They are endeavouring to publicise everything they can to do with Department D in an attempt to put an end to it. However Regina, who used to be her best friend, is also posting videos blaming Anastasia for the murder of her boyfriend, Tyson, and condemning Department D and the whole of Anastasia’s family. Knowing she’s likely putting herself in danger, Marcus and Anastasia go to try to warn Regina, only to discover she’s disappeared. So starts another action packed, riveting adventure involving journeys around the world hunting for Anastasia’s parents and for Regina.

There’s plenty of drama and shocking revelations to keep you turning the pages in this fantastic finale to this compelling series. It is meant to be for teens but don’t let that put off anyone who is older than that, I certainly thoroughly enjoyed reading it and have no hesitation in highly recommending this and the entire series!

Well, it really is the end of the lie and the story as well. Luckily everything is well explained in the end, so no mystery there. The roller coaster is slowing down in this 3rd book although I would prefer it being faster from the beginning. I feel that the story is getting complicated near the end and it could get confusing if you don’t follow it carefully. The main focus of the story is denial. Everybody is in denial in everything they did. And then there’s the twist that ended up everything. Spoiler alert: somebody is dead in the end.

The story follows Anastasia and her newfound family into their new life as a celebrity. Living in London in Julian’s mansion, protected from the outside world. Keira’s life is splashed throughout the media while Anastasia get attacked by her ex best friend – Regina on YouTube. It’s a roller coaster of emotional battle. Things didn’t get interesting until Regina disappeared. Was she kidnapped or did she left by her own freewill? Anastasia in desperation of saving her friend went back to Boston and there follow a trail that lead her to the end of the lie.

In this book, there are not too many chasing around the world like the 1st (Proof of Lies) or 2nd (Lies that Bind) book. It’s more focused on finding everybody’s identity and relationship. Like who’s Anastasia? Who are her parents? What is her relationship with Randolph Urban? Who kill Tyson? Denial, confession, misdirection and love are thrown all over the pages. I have to say, during first half the book, I was considering putting it down and went back to my other books. Well, curiosity wins over and things got intensified near the end (otherwise I’m really going to put it down).

The characters get grown up in the end. Anastasia is no longer the whinny teenager but she turns into a more mature young woman. Her relationship with Marcus turns into a sweet thing. On some parts of the books, I could feel her desperation on not being able to control things. Keira is pictured as a victim with PTSD and sometimes she is irrational. Her life is quite a mess and a bunch of lies, created by her parents. Marcus and Antonio lives are entangled by the same lies. At least Charlotte and Julian seems have a real life and relationship.

The Phoenixes, the Reys and the Urbans make their own messed up relationship. But in the end (this is quite strange actually), enemies become friends, family turned into each other and somebody died in the end. So, it’s end of the lie and everybody back to their normal life.

The end is quite okay for me. It’s not too predictable but quite satisfying in answering all the answers from the previous books. Everybody is happy and going their own way. I’m not going to spoil too much in this review. J

Recommend for those who love adventures, intrigue and twisty plots.

**Come hang out with me at https://smadasbooksmack.blogspot.com/ **

Remember, friends, this is not even a little bit a standalone, but instead the conclusion to an epic dangerous YA spy adventure. Make sure to read the books in order for the story to unfold.

After the way the last book ended, I had no idea what disaster Diana was going to throw at her characters next, but the direction this book took was so unexpected- and in the best of ways! Not only does Anastasia and company have the fact her parents are traitors who kill people and are on the run, the government/CIA is watching them, the tabloids are exploiting her sister's story and behavior, and her former best friend is posting angsty tell-all conspiracy videos on the internet. There are so many hard choices that Anastasia has already faced, but this may be the hardest journey yet.

End of the Lie had the action, danger and random twists that I have come to expect from this series, but there was also a heavy dose of emotional baggage as well to learn to handle. There was the emotional mess that was her sister, the conflicting issues over her parents, the unexpected love she felt towards Markus, to the betrayal and guilt over her friends. I was on my toes this entire book, encountering one action packed moment and then jumping into a heartbreaking conversation right after.

Also, I may have ranted a little bit about Markus in my review of Lies that Bind but he totally redeemed himself here and I loved him so much. He was the perfect partner to Anastasia, he complemented her skills and together they kicked ass. And he was incredibly romantic, dreamy level really. I really like him as well as them together.

I have really enjoyed this series and I am glad I had the opportunity to read these books. Diana was able to create something so new and different yet so approachable and engaging at the same time. And the ending could not have been more perfect, I could practically feel my heart swoon. Make sure to snag all books in the trilogy because you will want to binge read the series back to back so you don't miss a minute!

'End of the Lie' is the exciting final installment in a young adult mystery/thriller series that fans of the genre are sure to love. The story continues to follow our main character, Anastasia, a teen who thought she knew the people she loved and trusted but they turned out to be nothing but lies - and dangerous ones. I thought the plot was fascinating and loved following Anastasia on the final part of her quest for the truth. It takes her across the globe and into the past - all of which I loved. The author wrote a tight mystery with lots of thrills and twists that keep the reader guessing at what the truth is and what's going to happen for the majority of the book. That's a huge plus for me, as most mysteries can't keep me as engaged anymore. There were times, however, that seemed to drag on a little bit - but that wasn't a big detriment for me as a reader.

I liked getting to know Anastasia even better and watching her grow as a person throughout the story and series. She's down to earth, smart, resourceful, determined, and fiercely loyal to the people she loves. She endures a lot throughout the novel, and she goes through many different emotional stages as well. Her character is definitely complex and unique, which is a nice change from most stereotypical teen characters. Another huge plus for me was the author's choice of writing style. The book is told from the first person point of view - from Anastasia's perspective. I'm a huge fan of this style and I'm so happy that the author chose to tell the story this way. It wouldn't have had such a good impact on me as a reader if it had been done in a different manner. Since Anastasia tells the story, we get to know her on a deeply personal level - which allows us to connect and identify with her early on and throughout the book. Overall, I really enjoyed this book and the entire series, and I'll be sad to say goodbye to Anastasia. I definitely recommend this book to fans of mysteries, thrillers, suspense, contemporary, action and adventure, and even romance.

Disclosure: I received a copy of the book in exchange for an honest review.

"End of the Lie" finishes the Anastasia Phoenix trilogy. Note: this review may contain spoilers for the first two books. Anastasia's life changed forever after her parents died when she was fourteen and her older sister left college to raise her. Her life changed even more when her sister disappeared from their house, leaving behind a bathtub full of blood. Although the amount of blood would suggest her sister had been killed, Anastasia insisted the police find her, and when they did not, Anastasia began to follow leads to find her herself.

Leading her to Europe, Anastasia learns her parents were part of an elite spy ring called Department D, hidden within Dresden Chemicals (a legit business). Anastasia and her sister Keira were Dresden kids, children of people who worked for Dresden and as such forced to move from city to city constantly for their parents' jobs. The kidnapping was designed to draw their parents out of hiding after their faked death. Anastasia is the one who is now the master spy type as she rescues Keira and then seeks to take down Department D, seeking out other Dresden kids and now turning to the media at large.

With the help of her boyfriend Marcus (another Dresden kid) and Charlotte, a friend and very skilled hacker, Anastasia is now working to expose her parents and their empire. At the same time, she is also working to protect her former friend Regina, whose boyfriend and Anastasia's friend, was killed to send a message to Anastasia. Regina is on the warpath against Anastasia's family, but she doesn't realize that what she's saying could get her killed.

We are able to get all the answers that had been unknown in this final book, and it contains the action/drama similar to past books. Some of the spy action was a little cheesy and the spies seemed a little strange/immature for people who can manipulate governments (mainly the scene towards the end), but I still really enjoyed it! This really wraps up the major story lines and brings closure to the story and characters we have loved along the way. There are a cute romance scenes, but they really take a backseat to figuring everything out.

Overall, I really recommend this series to people who enjoy spy stories and YA fiction- it's a really fun series and I have loved following Anastasia on her journey. Action-packed, fast-paced and with some romance, this series is a delightful read!

Please note that I received an ARC from the publisher through netgalley. All opinions are my own.

End of the Lie is the third book in Diana Rodriguez Wallach's Anastasia Phoenix Series. As usual, I loved the cover! The style is just gorgeous. Anastasia and Keira are holed up in Julian's compound, searching for clues to the whereabouts of the Phoenixes, the Reys, and Urban. Keira is giving interviews, and taking a great deal of social media trolling, which is wearing her health down. Wallach did well, in my opinion, with the psychological ramifications of all these events. Especially with Regina, who went through a radical change thanks to the death of her boyfriend.

Julian has become my favourite character. He has steel inside when necessary, but overall he's very easy-going. I pictured him as a younger Benedict Cumberbatch. Haha. Marcus I was iffy towards. He's a teenage boy coping with some pretty powerful stuff. His family loyalty was constantly in conflict with his love for Anastasia. This caused a serious rift towards the end. Family is a big theme in the overall story. Besides Marcus, Anastasia has lots of family drama, what with Urban seeking her out, and her parents running rampant. What would you do for family? What would you sacrifice?

I found the ending so sad! No spoilers, but I did have a few tears. I wish it had resolved differently. I liked that ending left the possibility for further adventures, but it could also be taken as a clean, closed ending. If you enjoy YA spy thrillers, be sure to check it out!

End of the Lie was the final book in the Anastasia Phoenix trilogy, and probably the best one too.

There was a lot of pain and angst, some fun moments, some love felt ones, a few heart breaking scenes. Overall, the perfect mixture for a YA book. A bonus? It also has the whole suspense thing going, making it even more enjoyable.

The reason I loved this book so much better is that there was a lot of character development in this one. In Anastasia, in Markus and even in Keira and Antonio. It was nice to see them realize exactly what they'd been doing all along.

And of course, I loved End of The Lie because, as the title suggests, this book was the end of the lie, of the suspense and the truth about Anastasia's parents was finally out in the open.

Overall, End of the Lie was a page-turner and the best in the trilogy.

I would like to thank Entangled Publishing and the Netgalley website for this partnership.

I have finally finished this series, I have been waiting too long to find out the whole truth about Anastasia Phoenix.

It features the beautiful Anastasia who, with her writings on espionage and near-death experiences that come out in the open, thought everything would get better, except that she was wrong. Her friends became her enemies by causing the death of innocent people because of the dangerous world her parents created. She's going to have to stop the damage before more people are killed. From Poland to Prague following a trail she will try to protect those she loves.

A last tome read almost in one go, so much so that I couldn't wait to know the end of this trilogy which was moving, captivating, full of suspense and twists and turns. I love this author's writing.

Overall this was a fun series. Of course, completely unbelievable and a tad ridiculous, but fun. It is fiction so who cares how plausible. My main criticism of the series is probably the character of Anastasia Phoenix. I found her to be a little selfish and uncompromising. Her behavior towards Marcus's parents and brother compared with her behavior towards her own parents was really hypocritical. Because of that, I find one aspect of the ending of the series disappointing.

I enjoyed the characters of Charlotte, Julian, Marcus, and even Antonio. I was glad that my suspicions about a couple of these characters did not come to fruition.

This is a great series for young readers who want to delve into the world of international spies.

Twisting mystery!
Thanks to NetGalley and Entangled Teen for the opportunity to read and review End of the Lie by Diana Rodriguez Wallach!
Anastasia watches her sister become more and more depressed because of her traumatic kidnapping and the bad publicity that follows. They are both trying to adjust to the new situation with their parents and unwanted fame. Twists and turns keep them running and confused but they stay by each other’s sides to get through their intense struggles. Anastasia sees the people around her change until everything comes full circle. Intense, mysterious and suspenseful all wrapped up in this finale of the Anastasia Phoenix series, 5 stars!

End of the Lie picks up right where Book 2 left off and all you need to know is I highly recommend this series and author. Written by the amazing Diana Rodriquez Wallach, this YA read is action-packed, fast-paced and incorporates elements of young romance, mystery, and suspense. Hits the ground running from the very first page and keeps you turning those pages...nicely done Ms. Wallach!!!

Having read the other 2 in this I was glad to jump into this one. Reading YA books level out the read for me they are quite exciting at times. Anastasia does know how to hold your attention with more drama that came her way. The direction that it goes in sometimes was intriguing and different with this author knowing how to keep her audience. This one will hit the high point with the pace at times being quick. Hold on for this one and enjoy every bit.

End of the Lie is the third of Diana Rodriguez Wallach's Anastasia Phoenix series.  This is where all the loose ends are tied up and questions finally answered.  I've enjoyed this series and was looking forward to finding out how things would end.  A YA spy series has been fun to read.  With suspense and action moving the series along, I was anxious to see what would happen next.

It really bothers me that they never explained what happened with Keira and Antonio in Barcelona and finding Sophia. Obviously they didn’t talk to her, but why was it not explicitly stated. Kind of plain ending but I liked the loose ends all tied up. Worthwhile read for sure.

My least favorite of the series...it gots a little too tidy at the end, like a seamless wrap-up that is too convenient. The mystery is solved, the kids are okay, and Department D is done. Like I said, too tidy. But, I am glad I was able to find out "what happens" and the series is done. :)

End of the Lie is the last book of the Anastasia Phoenix trilogy and I think it's a nice way to close an adventure. The book provides enough closure and development for its characters and it leaves the reader satisfied. Some scenes and dialogue can be cheesy and a bit cringe-worthy at some points but the action and the suspense keeps the reader going. The characters have grown so much through the trilogy and it's a good YA book, especially for those who like romance mixed along with spies and action-packed scenes. Although it was not my kind of book, End of the Lie is quite an enjoyable story.

he anastasia phoenix series comes to a close with end of the lie. and while the events of the previous novel seemingly left everything exposed and out in the open, there are still plenty of twists and turns that come our way.

the action is fast-paced and intense, and the plot twists and reveals work hard to keep us on the edge of our seats. we travel once again across europe in search of answers, and i loved seeing the sights between poland and prague.

these kind of suspense stories work best if you read them with no spoilers, so i will not dwell on plot. but all in all, this is a satisfying conclusion to the series.
