Booth Pena definitely didn’t make the smartest of decisions when he was a teenager.

At eighteen, he knocked a girl up and signed up for the military all in the same day—signing his life away in more ways than one. Fast forward six weeks and he’s in boot camp learning that he’s going to be a father while also learning that not only is he going to be deployed, but it’s going to stay that way for a year.

There weren’t a lot of things that the baby’s mother and he saw eye to eye on after that. He honestly wasn’t sure why he even slept with her in the first place.

Okay, that last part is a lie. He knows exactly why he slept with her. Because the real woman he’s in love with, her twin sister, Dillan, won’t give him the time of day.

Five years later, and he still wants her.

Now he’s home for good, being the best father and police officer that he can be, and still he’s not good enough.

***

Dillan Davidsdottir hated Booth Pena. Immensely.

She hated him because he slept with her sister, then left. Granted, she knew that he hadn’t meant to leave like he did, unknowingly and unconsciously leaving his son behind, but that didn’t change the fact that he had.

Five years later, and she still dislikes him just as much now as she did when he chose the wrong sister to take to his bed.

Maybe if he’d chosen her, her heart wouldn’t be broken, and his wouldn’t be untouchable.

But when a SWAT officer sees his life flash before his eyes, and decides that enough is enough, what’s a girl to do?

Give in, that’s what.

Sooo.... the author changed the daughter to a son. IMO she should’ve just rewritten the whole damn thing. What kind a self respecting woman would take her sister left overs? True they only slept once but once it’s one too many for me. He ain’t worth it if he slept with your sister because you didn’t give him the time of the day.. plus you will remember that your sister had him first and he got her pregnant too. How much pathetic can someone be.? I also heard that he was drugged and thought he was having sex with her. Could it be that the author rewrote the reason why he slept with the twin sister to make him more likeable? It’s highly possible! Either way I am not touching this shit..

I see many arc readers loving this book because they will get it for free and lying their asses off saying how safe this book will be. 😏😏🤨🤨
How safe can this garbage be when hero slept with the heroine’s twin sister because he was so in love with the heroine and got her pregnant! Yes that’s right I’m sure the author will have the twin sister be a bitch so the heroine will have to raise the hero’s mistake. That’s a really great way of showing the woman he loves sleeping with her own sister. And let’s not forget how he seems to blame for her sleeping and getting her sister pregnant because she hadn’t given him the time of day and how pathetic the woman can be knowing that he slept with her sister and she still wants him. 🤣🤣

Blurb..

Of all the books in this series I have been most hesitant of this one and the next one. Having been introduced to Booth and Dillon and Asa and Delaney and Bourne in previous books and knowing the bare basics of their story I had no idea how the author was going to address it.

Even having read the book and finding out all of the circumstances around baby Asa, I still can't get my head around the whole Aunty / stepmum thing. But then in the next breathe, who cares? As long as everyone is happy and consenting who has the right to judge.

Anyway as I was saying. I wasn't sure how Booth and Dillon could be together when he had had a child with Dillon's sister. I was worried that someone's feelings were going to be hurt or that there would be a drama around poor little Asa. But then everything came to light and I was so relieved.

There was a little bit of drama but none of it was relationship drama. And Delaney was just happy that her sister got the man she had been crushing on since she was a teenager. And the teasers for Delaney and Bourne made everything even sweeter. A few little things in regards to Asa were left unfinished but since it's Delaney and Bourne's story next I'm hoping we will get that resolved. And I can't wait.

so, I gave it a chance. Wasn't impressed with the explanation or how it was handled...as it seems is LLV's way it was basically all just swept under the rug. For being a heroine who "dealt, addressed, and thrived on confrontation" she sure spent a lot of time (5+) years of avoiding it AND jumped in bed with her sisters baby daddy real quick after it was explained that he was drugged and thought it was her. Also, while I can understand the need for parents who parent together even when not together I didn't like the relationship between the Hero and his baby momma. In the beginning of the book he flat out stated that he was debating asking that they live together so they can parent better. WTF?? Some will call it "understanding" that was between them but it bordered on being to close for me. Also...I already know how this is going to go. Booth and Bourne were looking at buying a huge house but it needed some work...they're all going to end up co-habituating and that's just crossing to many lines for me.

Overall, little to no drama and the "issues" were just glossed over. I have no desire to read the next book either - as you see below I only wanted to see how the problems were addressed/handled in this one. I didn't like how Bourne hated this heroine because she "dicked his brother around"...like HELLO!! your brother slept with her sister AND never bothered to figure out how or why it happened!!! AND lets throw in there that his brother didn't bother to chase or attempt anything with the heroine either so F You Bourne.

******************************************************************************
I'm going to give this a chance simply because I want to see how the whole "I have a child with your sister" thing is handled.

Also, I was disappointed to find out that the twins are Nico's oldest. I haven't read Nico's (SWAT) book but I know that he saved himself for the heroine (yes, he did other stuff with OW but the full act was saved). It makes me sad that his children would behave in this way - one hooking up and having child with their heroines (love of their lives) sister and the other brother wanting the baby mamma.

I've been waiting to hear the real deal between Booth and Dillan ever since I read subtle hints about their situation in other books. I went into this story with fear and trepidation. I had a feeling that LLV would make me feel better, but I didn't know how. Why? Because their situation was the hottest of hot messes and I couldn't figure out how anyone could move on from it.

The situation: Booth has a twin brother, Bourne. Dillan has a twin sister, Delanie. Booth always liked Dillan and Dillan always liked Booth. Bourne always liked Delanie and Delanie always liked Bourne. And then Booth slept with Delanie and they had a baby. See what I'm saying about a hot mess?

Delanie had the baby while Booth was deployed and so his family stepped up. There was never a moment of his life that young Asa didn't know he was loved. From his mother and aunt to his uncle Bourne, his papa Nico, his grandma Georgia, their other kids, and all the friends that make up the family that love and adore each other. Everyone helps out and works together. Honestly, it's a thing of beauty!

Fast forward and Booth's co-parenting with Delanie, working as a KPD Swat Officer. After a near death experience, he decides he's done punishing himself. He's wanted Dillan from the moment he saw her and he's going to have her. When Dillan gives him the go-ahead, it's a quick ride to a happy ending... they just have to deal with the murderous intentions of a spurned lover first.

As always, I enjoyed myself. LLV has a way of writing stories that give a strong sense of comfort. Her characters are relatable and, for the most part, easy to love and I definitely loved Booth and Dillan. And now I'm patiently waiting for the flip side - Bourne & Delanie are next!

This book was one I proceeded with cautiously as the situation involved the hero and the heroine’s sister. I was worried about the dynamics but after the backstory and how the characters interacted, I’m glad I took the chance on it.

The plot was in some was OTT but it was entertaining nonetheless. I liked that Dillon didn’t just accept things as they were. She took her time in forgiving. However, she allowed herself to be open. Booth was a good match for her. They had good chemistry. The set up for the next book was solid though I wonder how they will contrast. All in all a great addition to the series.

Jokes on You brings us the weird double twin love quadrilateral that we have all been waiting for (well, those of us who have been reading this series anyway)! Let me say: I went into this book with a lot of icky feelings about the idea of the hero, Booth, having a baby with the heroine's twin sister (Delanie). That whole "sleeping with your sister's ex" is weird enough, but throw in a baby and I was just already giving a hard side eye to this book.

Now, having told you I was side eyeing hard, I will say that Vale handles it well. There wasn't any type of relationship between Booth and Delanie; they had sex one time. Also, something happened to them and they really weren't in full awareness. It is still weird to me for Dillan to be aunt and step-mom to Booth and Delanie's son, Asa, but if there ever was a case where I would be okay with a sister dating her twin's baby daddy, its this one. Delanie is also totally fine with it and she makes it clear she has never had any feelings for Booth.

That wasn't the biggest problem Dillan and Booth faced in Jokes On You. You learn early on Dillan has a creep for a friend. Also, her dad is a complete jerk. These two characters combined were rage inducing for sure!

Fans of single parent romances, crazy stalkers, and dysfunctional families will enjoy Jokes on You for its delightful characters and enough drama/danger to keep things moving.

So I went into Joke’s on You with a bit of trepidation…two sets of twins, two sets of hot chemistry, one night that turns their entire worlds upside down and obliterates their dreams.  I should have known Lani Lynn Vale would not let me down.  In all honesty the basic circumstances this group fall into is not my favorite and it will still bother me a little but I still enjoyed Booth and Dillan’s story very much and cannot wait to read Bourne and Delanie’s story.   Asa is adorable and an extremely lucky little boy to have so many people love him so much.

Joke’s on You is one of the hottest books LLV has written, very, very, very HOT!  This story takes you a bit more out of reality than normal but right now we all need a big escape from reality.  Joke’s on You is fun, super-hot, filled with emotions and characters that will leave you smiling!

3.5 ‘No More Denying’ Stars

Holy Hell! Only Lani Lynn Vale can turn my ‘fear’ into enjoyment, and a major clusterf@ck of situation into just a damn complicated one, and Jokes on Joke is the number one proof of that!

Like I mentioned in the previous book, I also both anxious and fearful of this book, because sleeping with the heroine’s sister a one of my biggest no no’es. After all is explained and why the event happened – I will not spoil it for you, lol – that issue didn’t hurt me nearly as much as I expected. Sure, I’d preferred that the event had never taken plan, and that the pregnancy was never an issue – just because it was an extra hurtful element, that it peeves me too – but with how Ms. Vale set things up here, and little Asa was just a adorable element, that brought all the family together and showed their incredible support system on the Pena family, I could let it go. Almost… LOL

I was an ol’ pro at hiding my pain.

“Sometimes life gives you exactly what you need. Not necessarily what you want.”

“We’re having our new start now,” I told her. “We’re not going to dwell on the past, because we can’t change it.”

There were a lot amazing elements, and though I thought their relationship did the one eighty far too fast, and without a needed deep enough look into their feeling, after five years of basically ignoring and repressing their feelings (that were clear to EVERYONE!), they just kind of completely let go of those five years in a blink. I did appreciate immensely that there wasn’t constant dwelling nor flashbacks on the past, but more like looking forward to the future. They were so level headed and mature right there at the start, and I was more than okay about that. Another HUGE point for me was the incredible role and support of not only the Pena family, but all the SWAT team guys and their significant others. It’s always a joy to check on the past couples, and witness the awesome SWAT gang chats.

Two other things that made the whole ‘love crossed’ situation better for me was the fact that it was very clear that not only Booth and Melanie had no feelings whatsoever for one another, and they were fully aware of the depth of feelings of his siblings had for the other, and felt so deeply sorry and torment for having caused this pain and hurt in Dillan. They couldn’t feel worse about it that they did. All this and the fact that Booth remained true to his feelings for Dillan, even after it was all blow to hell. Adding to that Dillan was not a virgin (which I was happy to find out) even though we discover that it too was not clear as expected, both events I felt it deserved a deeper look into and respective consequences set.

I did wish that the whole reason for that fateful night to happen had not been so ‘brushed off’ as it was, specially because I’m not sure of how possible/credible that was, in reality, specially considering the setting. It was a serious unveiling and it did deserve a bit more ‘touch’ on it, which I think it would be possible while keeping the lighter undertone of the book.

This wasn’t a one-time thing, Dillan. This was an all the time thing.

“You feel like mine,” I told her.
“You feel like mine, too,”

Seems Ms. Vale truly is a miracle worker, when she manages to keep me beyond engaged in a book that had me cringing at the premise. It just shows how incredibly talented she is. WE had the emotional, the suspense – OMG, I was going insane right there with Booth on the climax scene! – the friendship and family, and the amazing love story wrapped up with some smoking hot sexy times. Yep, definitely constant and sure ‘LLV literary drug’ once again. And after we saw from broody and kind of @sshole Bourne here, I’m already DYING to see him break next!!! <3 <3 <3 <3

“For the rest of your life?” I asked huskily.
He nodded once.
“For the rest of our lives,” he said. “That’s where this is going, baby. That’s where it’s been going since the moment that I met you. You’re mine and I’m yours, and that’s the only way it’s ever going to be from now until we die.”
I loved his words.
“I love you.”
He moved until his mouth was pressed to my nose. “I love you, too, Dillan. So much.”

I've read a few reviews well not REAL reviews of this book all because people read the blurb and assumed the worst. Y'all are a disgrace. I get that books can be a hard no for you, so skip it. Don't review and pull the author's name through the dirt because the blurb isn't your cup of tea.
And the few "reviews" I did read, you are wrong. This book is not what it seems and you missed out on some good writing. Lani Lynn Vale twisted this story in a good way.
I have not read everything that LLV has written, but I can say I have loved most of them. I like her stories and how the characters are not always the best. They don't have the easiest lives, but they figure it out.
I loved Booth and Dillian. Booth wants to be the best dad even if his baby momma isn't the person he's had a thing for forever. Even if it's her sister. Two people that have always wanted each other, but someone else's action changed their lives forever. It's a little far fetched sure, but I've never read anything like it. I love how the drama keep unfolding and keeps you flipping the pages.

Brave LLV for putting something different out and making it work in a good way. I look forward to more of your creative ways!

When I read the end of May Contain Wine I was super excited to know how the the Booth, Dillian, Bourne, Delanie drama would play out. I know a lot of people are extremely grossed out or disappointed in this story line, but for me...ALL. ABOUT. THE. DRAMA.

I'm a little sadistic like that. I wanted to know every detail. I freaking love drama. I was kinda invested in this drama. Well Booth and Dillian's story wasn't a huge disappointment. But Nor was fully invested after I started reading.

Once again their was no grovelling, no epic break down it was basically all smooth sailing for the couple themselves even though there was drama that effected their relationship. I kinda wanted something to happen where there was grovelling. Sorry not Sorry.

I enjoyed how even though having a kid with one twin, who was in love with your twin and being in love with her twin could have been really really awkward it wasn't. LLV took her time to fully explain the situation, it wasn't just a quick conversation either, it was a major player in how the story turned out. Lets just say when they finally discover the "truth" it made sense. Without dropping a spoiler that's all I've got. LLV also break down those barriers that the couple could have had.

Booth's relationship with Asa was the highlight for me for this book. Even after being called out on SWAT mission he still, banged up, managed to take the time to buy pizza and make it to the kids school to have lunch with him. That right there stole my heart.

I liked Dillan's back bone when she finally stood up to her father and to her ex-best-friend and their interference with her life, and how she interacted with Booth's little sister

I love how even though this is the second generation, we still see the first making their presence known in little guest appearances.

I haven't read a lot of LLV books, but one thing I do wanna comment on is the amount of sex scenes, I love a good one don't get me wrong, but I use the kindle app on my phone most of the time with the writing set on the smallest it can go and seven pages of just one "epic love scene" is way to much for me.

Another note: This book was a very quick read for me. I was half way before I even knew it. It's the size of a standard book but felt very Novella like to me by the time I was finished.

My actual Rating for this is 3.5 Stars. It lost half a point for the two things I mentioned about that I didn't jam with. But all in all, It was worth it just to have the situation explained and partially resolved so to speak. Asa and Booth's relationship is what made this story for me and I wont even apologise for it.

Booth is just trying to live his life - be the best dad he can to his son Asa, the best SWAT officer he can, and get through life knowing he can never have the woman he's always wanted, who happens to be his son's mother's sister. Talk about a clusterfuck of epic proportions.

Dillan's rightly upset that Booth got her sister pregnant, considering she is the one who has feelings for him, not her sister. So they all just go about their lives, being Asa's family and trying to deal with their complicated history as best as possible. It's not possible for Dillan and Booth to be together. Or is it?

I have to admit that I was leery of this story before I read it, wondering how two sets of twins could be in love with each other when the wrong two had a child together. But I shouldn't have worried, because Vale has a deft hand, and managed the situation with ease. Well, with drama of course, but it flowed seamlessly and Booth and Dillan were able to get the happiness they fought so hard for. I really liked their story and the two of them both individually and as a couple. And of course little Asa, who stole the show with his precocious nature and every single hilarious word that came out of his mouth. There's some suspense and action, and some serious sexy times - all in all, another great story in this SWAT series.

Five years ago Booth Pena made a mistake by sleeping with the twin of the girl he was falling for. He can't explain what happened but it ended up with a pregnancy, a son he loves and Dillon, the girl of his dreams, hating him. Booth still wants Dillon, he is nuts about her and in a moment of clarity he decides enough is enough and tackles the elephant in the room that is keeping them apart.

Dillon gets the answers she needs and she is ready to move on with Booth. However something about the whole incident between Booth and her sisters is sending red flags and she wants answers. Secrets are discovered and Dillon finds herself leaning on Booth even more and he is just what she needs. Can he keep her safe from the storm that is heading their way?

I had been extremely curious about the twins Booth & Bourne and Dillon & Delanie, their story took a turn I had not expected which was perfect because I had been a bit weary where it would lead. Tons of favorite characters in this book and a new favorite, Belle, who I want to know more about. Everything I expected from this talented author and more.

Complicated life, complicated love…

Oh wow – was the relationship between Booth and Dillan uber-awkward! After a crazy incident, an unexpected pregnancy, military duty and five years of life, the two were back together again. To sort and figure out what happened, or at least make more sense of it, and work out what they were going to do next…

I loved this drama-filled, wild ride of family of love! They’d had feelings for each other, or at least a spark, but before they could do anything about it, the incident happened. How it all went down and what happened afterward was reality of the soapiest extreme. And all of it was entertaining to the nth degree! Booth struggling to connect with his son – and doing a bang up job of it, and Dillan as the favourite aunt, with a loving hand for her nephew and a snarky comment for his father… So much to smile and laugh about even when the moments of seriousness snuck in.

Another chaotic, emotion-filled romance with characters that you don’t want to let go of…

Ahhh. Finally after not so subtle teasing from this author through this series, we finally have Booth Pena and Dillian Davidsdottir's story.

Two sets of twins in love with eachother. The problem though.. is that they had a baby and not with the one they're in love with.
Gasps everywhere right!. Talk about a freaking plot twist. Alas have no fear, Lani will not steer you wrong. Even if you doubt her for a small second. Hahaha.

I mean if there is ever a way to mess up a relationship before it even starts, it's to sleep with your crushes sister. However that is not enough... no sir no ma'am. Just to add insult to injury you get her pregnant and leave for deployment. It's a hot mess.

I'm calling it a love square. Bahaha. And yes I laughed at myself over that when I wrote my notes for my review. I mean, I think I'm hilarious and that's all that matters.

Booth is the perfect blend of his parents but leans towards him momma's nature with his sweet side.
He's a good man. He did something wrong but out of that came the best gift of life so really was it so wrong?. Nope, his boy is a sweet treasure.
He took responsibility and stepped up despite his circumstances and the negative backlash. He's devoted and for that I just loved him.

Dillian was butthurt and confused. I have to be honest she was way more forgiving and calm than I'd be for sure. I like that she was a realist though. She didn't hide from her feelings or pretend they weren't there. She's a great sister and an even better auntie and for that alone she was a winner for me.

This isn't what you think it's going to be. Despite the circumstances I promise you Lani does not steer you wrong.

Booth and Dillian just fit together perfectly. The chemistry is explosive and the years of wanting just added to that already fiery connection. It's not a slow burn. They fall together fairly quick and it made sense because of the years of neglected want between them. Them being a them was just right.

I love that with these stories not only do we get great character growth from the main characters. We also get a slew of crazy mad and interesting side characters both old a new that add so much life to an already bursting story. I can't get enough of it.

It's sweet and sensual and hilarious. It's action packed, suspenseful and tension filled. I laughed like a looney, cried like a crazy person and fell in love hard with these characters. There are moments where I was like WTF. For real I was concerned about my blood pressure at times. This story takes you on a emotion rollercoaster you won't be expecting and it will leave you rung dry and emotionally exhausted by the end. But it's so worth it.

Now I just need the next book!. I have questions that need answered!.

4 Star Review Jokes On You (Swat Next Generation 2.0 #5) by Lani Lynn Vale

I’m really not sure where to start with this review. I knew from the ending of the previous book that this would be one heck of a complicated story but I had no idea how much.

I had a hard time relating to Booth Pena and in fact it took me most of the book to warm up to him. I found and Dillan Davidsdottir easier to relate to, although truthfully I didn’t understand how she could be so forgiving.

We all make mistakes, it’s how we own up and deal with them that make a person. The fact that Booth slept with the love of his life’s twin sister Delanie (because he couldn’t have Dillan) really annoyed me.

Now he has returned and his feelings remain for Dillan. Can he convince her to finally give him a chance? Dillan is a strong and sassy woman, but I have no idea how she could forgive him. The relationship he has with Asa the result of his night of misguided passion was probably the redeeming factor for me with Booth.

This was a suspenseful, drama filled journey that Lani Lynn Vale lead us on as questions will be answered. Whilst not my favourite story from this author, it was well written.

Jessica’s Review

Booth and Dillan finally got their HEA after everything they went through. It was a hard earned one for them. Booth was done waiting and boy did he put all his cards in the table. There was no push or pull from Dillan which I loved. She know that they belonged together.

The banter between these two was great. It was easy and I could feel their love for each other. The drama...... it felt a little rushed. Not that it was bad, because I wanted to get their their HEA fast. I’m thinking we will learn more in the next book because some of it had to do with other characters too. I don’t want to give to much away. This was fast paced, a beautiful love story were a couple deserved their happy ending years before but life doesn’t always work that way. I can’t wait for the next one and being able to see these two more and the other twins. 4 star #2OCCJD

Gemma’s Review

I really enjoyed the storyline of this story and the romance between the two main characters. I also enjoyed the way that the story had the perfect amount of suspense in the story. I was curious to see where the author would go with this story and found I really enjoyed it. This was another great addition to this book series.

Dillan was a sweet character that was there for her sister when she needed someone. I really liked the way that she cared for Asa and the relationship they had.

Boone I found was a lighthearted character that did what he had to in order to protect his loved ones.

The two characters were perfect for each other despite their unconventional start. I am looking forward to reading the next book in the series

No joke, my first words upon opening this book were “BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOTTTTTTHHHHHHHHHH!!!!! FINALLY!!!!!” So I think that should explain the level of expectation I had going in to this book. 👏 I 👏 was 👏 excited 👏 And like Lani Lynn Vale always seems to do, she surpassed all my expectations with this book. Like, my expectations were chilling out around cloud height and Lani’s like “naaaaaaah” and soars to outer space with her super author cape waving behind her.
*I am fully aware I’m dramatic. Don’t care.
So I guess I should get serious here and stop rambling. I’ve been intrigued by the whole Booth/Dillan/Delanie/Bourne situation since it was first mentioned. Obviously that led to a whole lot of thinking and theorizing and I was 100% still not prepared for the reality of Booth and Dillan’s story. I’m also 100% not giving away any details so I’ll leave you with this 😳😱😢🤬😬😲😍🥰🤯🤯🥰🥰🥰
Interpret that how you will.
Dillan has got to be one of the most selfless and sweet heroines ever. Her sister sleeping with and then having a child with the man she loves would have destroyed most others, but not Dillan. She stood by them all despite her own pain. She didn’t turn bitter. She didn’t wallow. I freaking loved her.
Then Booth. That man. I swear going in I thought I’d want to spend a good chunk of my time holding a grudge against him, but I just couldn’t. Ultimately Booth is a good man, a good father, and head over heels in love with Dillan and that really shines even from the start.

Seriously, I've just about loved every single book in this series. Honestly, I wasn't sure if I was going to like this one or not because of the various things that happens in this. But it's definitely not what you think, there's more to the story and wow.

I went in thinking I'd have some major problems with some of the characters, but you'll be pleasantly surprised that I actually loved all of them.

Truly loved Booth and Dillan's story, the heroes are always to the point and not ones to mess around. Definitely an interesting situation.

Full review to come.

Based off some reviews I've seen, there's no cheating or OW drama.

I have been waiting for Booth since this series started. And I wasn't disappointed. I love him

When we were introduced to Booth and Bourne and Dillan and Delanie it was like... WTH is going on here.
Booth was attracted to Dillan when he met her, but for some reason he slept with Delanie and she got pregnant. Dillan fell in love with Booth the moment she met him, but for some reason he slept with her sister and they have a son. But even through all this Dillan can't help who her heart wants. But when Booth has decided that this dance they were doing was enough what else can he do but claim his woman...❤

This story was lots of twists and turns and when you think its just a romance book, Lani throws in some suspense to keep you hooked and make you fall in love with all these characters all over again.
I can't wait for Bourne and Delanie ❤ 😊

Joke's On You is Book 5 in Swat Next Generation 2.0 by Lani Lynn Vale.
Get ready for the drama-rama! This is the beginning of the Booth, Dillian, Bourne, Delanie drama. Joke's on You is Booth and Dillian's story. Booth and Dillian had crushes on each other back but 5 years before, he made a mistake and slept with Dillian's twin sister, Delanie. Out of that came his son. Fast forward to now, Booth is ready to start pursuing Dillian and show her that he has never gave up on his feelings for her.
It's a great story where we get the first half of the story from the couples involved. The storyline is a bit unconventional yet it worked. It's sizzling, intense, angsty, hot, sweet, and interesting. I do think the ending is rushed and would have liked if there was a bit more but otherwise, good plot, great characters and amazing writing. I can't wait for Delanie and Bourne's story next.

I was waiting for this book ever since reading about the messed up love triangle that it’s about. Can we still call it that when 4 people are involved? Hmm, I don’t know.
Booth and Bourne are identical twins,
and Delanie are identical twins.
Booth likes Dillan, Delanie likes Bourne and vice versa.
Booth and Delanie hook up. He thought it was Dillan, she thought it was Bourne, nine months later a son is born.
Confused?! Don’t be, it’s really not that complicated 😉!
Fast forward 5 years and after getting shot five times at a swat call Booth decides he’s down waiting and gives exactly zero fucks about appearances as he goes after the woman he’s loved and wronged. Dillan proves to be a difficult nut to crack but eventually she too gives in.
Watching them fall for each other and overcome the crazy that is their lives makes this perhaps my favorite book in Lani Lynn Vale’s KPD Swat Generation 2.0 Series. TBR and enjoy.

Not sure, how I feel about this book. I'm a bit irritated how Dillan and Booth was so late on truth, well okay mostly Dillan, because she had all the pieces that needed to put the big part of puzzle, that I was already guessed with first snippets given. And the more snippets I got, the more I was sure.
But at the end, I'm giving strong 4 stars just for Bobo. Hes a star in this book for sure.

HOLY MAMA! This book was amazing! We had suspense, drama, smexy times, and swoon-worthy moments that would have anyone dreamy-eyed!

Joke's on You (SWAT Generation 2.0 #6 and is probably the most anticipated book for me in this series! Don't get me, wrong ladies, I cannot wait to devour Bourne and Denalie's book coming up. There was just something about Mr. Booth Pena and Dillan Davidsdottir that had me intrigued since the moment I was first introduced to them.

That push and pull that Booth and Dillan had my little palms twitchy since they have been introduced to us. I MEAN nothing prepared me for how amazing these two would be in this book though!!!! These two are like magnets that cannot help but cling together. I loved that natural pull these two had. It was instinct.

Dillan does not want to be attracted; heck dare we say want Booth but there is just something within her soul that just speaks to his. This sassy strong-willed woman had to resolve and come to some conclusions in her life before she was ready to let anyone in.

What Dillan did know was that Booth was an amazing dad to Asa. That little boy was the apple of his aunt's eye. And maybe his daddy was as well. hehe

What can I say about Booth Pena that we already do not know? This man is smoking hot and every woman he encounters is drooling. The issue is the only woman he sees Dillan. I personally found it adorable.

Lani Lynn Vale leads us on a suspenseful hunt to find truths. We will get caught in all kinds of webs of goodness along the way while we unfold Booth and Dillan’s love story. You need to one-click this baby.

⭐️⭐️⭐️.5

Jokes On You is the sixth book in the KPD Swat Generation 2.0 series, where we finally get the long awaited story of Booth and Dillon.

Booth is in love with Dillon, but gets her twin sister Delanie pregnant, whilst Delanie is in love with Booth’s twin brother, Bourne. It’s this huge, complicated and messy situation that to be honest you just can’t look away from. One job callout situation goes pear shaped and Booth is left questioning his life and what he truly wants, and that happens to be Dillon.

When I finished May Contain Wine, I was sooo excited to read Booth and Dillon’s story. I thought the plot was interesting, different and had great potential. Unfortunately, I was left disappointed. Simply in the fact that there was so much drama, which I felt overpowered and took the focus away from the love story.

Although in my opinion there was a lot of unnecessary and unrealistic drama that followed this couple, it didn’t detract from my overall enjoyment of the book. It was great to catch up with the rest of the SWAT family and their crazy personalities and antics and I am super excited to read Bourne and Delanie’s story next.

One thing I want to make readers aware of is that the blurb to me is very misleading. PLEASE do not let this deter you away from reading the book.

It’s been a while since I got a LLV e-book; I mostly get her audiobooks through Audible lately. I haven’t really read all the books in the series, so I’m not familiar with all the characters featured. It wasn’t hard for me to keep up with the story though!

Booth and Dillan’s story is a complicated one. They both have identical twins; Delaney is Dillan’s sister and Bourne is Booth’s brother. While reading the synopsis you’ll learn that Booth and Delaney slept together, and she ended up pregnant. However, Booth always had a crush on Dillan. I know you’ll tell me this is a really messed up situation. I saw many reviewers dragging the book based only in what the synopsis reveals. Let me tell you that the author spins the plot in such way, you won’t see it coming, so don’t be quick to judge.

The story is really interesting. We get to see Booth and Dillan’s relationship flourish and him trying to be the best dad possible. There are strange things happening to Dillan, giving the story a good amount of mystery and suspense. I liked the little glimpses to the other characters’ lives, and I would like to get to read their books as well!!

5 Stars!

Lani Lynn Vale is back with the sixth installment in the SWAT Generation 2.0 series and y'all, whew I knew this book was gonna be a doozy by just my history with this series plus throw in that crazy complicated sounding blurb. Well what I got between the pages in Joke's on You far exceeded anything I could've imagined (hats off to you Lani for handling this couple with skill and ease!) and left me wanting so much more. **hurry up next book!!**

Joke's on You is Booth and Dillan's story and it was packed with page turning, edge of your seat moments in every single breath. Throw in some suspense, steam, heat, and all of the feels in their journey and you've got this beauty.

LLV nailed this particular couple, the way their story should be told, and delivered an unforgettable, unstoppable, unputdownable romance that hooked me hard from the very first page to the very. last. word.

Lani Lynn Vale will always be a must read, always recommending to others kind of author to me.

I highly recommend this book.

Another fun story where you are thoroughly entertained with a great romance, some good humour and a touch of suspense.

I absolutely love Dillon and Booth as a couple, they not only have great chemistry but they just gel so well together personality wise too. Dillon has such a loving and caring nature, she is a total gem. She’s hardworking and sensible but can enjoy mucking around with the best of them. Booth, I remember his character being so cheeky when he was younger, well he’s certainly grown up now. He is such a wonderful father to Asa, who just by the by, is a little treasure on his own and adds a few good laughs as well.

The suspense element isn’t as much about who but more about what they are going to do next. The ‘evil’ characters are varied but the main one is very twisted in his beliefs and intentions. Nothing over the top but a nice addend to the romance thread. The actual romance is very sweet but not in a sickly way, it is red hot too. Their passion is intense and the intimacy described perfectly.

Some terrific humour added makes for a well-balanced story that is fast paced, easy to read and a wonderful escape from reality.
