Good Girl/Bad Boy, Grumpy/Sunshine standalone romance from critically acclaimed author Eve Dangerfield
All Noah Newcomb wants is a life to himself. No girlfriends. No commitments. No trouble. He’s had enough problems in his life and he isn’t looking for more. Or he wasn’t. That is until Nicole DaSilva showed up in her tight pencil skirt and pumps. He’s never turned down a good girl who wants to go bad. And from the looks of her, Nicole wants to be very, very bad...
Nicole may share her shiny black hair and blue eyes with her twin sister, but that’s where the similarities end. Her type A personality makes her the odd one out in the free-spirited, ink-loving DaSilva family. But with the family business in trouble—and her cheating ex-fiancé being a complete jerk—Nicole comes home to escape her life and fix everything else. But with a huge, dangerous, tattoo artist looming in her way, and her ability to resist him and their undeniable sexual chemistry wearing thin, she finds that she may be willing to risk her slow and steady life for a walk on the wild side…
But can this tattooed Beast win his good girl, fashionista Beauty? Or will their troubled pasts be a hurdle on their path to forever?

Eve Dangerfield has loved romance novels ever since she first swiped her grandmother’s paperbacks. Now she writes her own stories about complicated women and gorgeous-but-slightly-tortured men. Her work has been described as 'genre-defying,' and ‘the defibrillator contemporary romance needs right now'. And not just by those who might one day need bone marrow! ღ We back with Noah & Nicole story ….. Yay

what man to do when his too uptight, too reliable accountant/cleaning freak boss sister, who is now has her sights on you?

Don’t get me wrong Noah wants Nicole, she is sexy as hell to him even if her Ex made her think otherwise, but Noah is running from his past & doesn't want draw attention to himself. Besides Noah not sure Nicole can handle his wild side

I just love when opposites attract stories come together! At times they can be somewhat of long journey, & at other times they can be funny as heck to read. These type book can also have some very steamy scenes! If all these things appeal to you, you are in the right spot⬇

---------------Happy Reading------------

As so far Nicole & Noah are my favorite Dangerfield couple yet. But I cant wait read Tabby’s book- the wild & free of the bunch!
I feel the need tell you just teensy tiny more about this couple,What I just love & enjoyed about this book & what you might find in it

You’ll find yourself slowly falling in love with this big hulking silent giant, brooding, & tatted artist even if you try not to!

You’ll find yourself slowly finding out why Nicole is the way she is!
And how these two seem to both slowly let down their guards, learn to trust & confide in each other, & most importantly how at times it seem like no one else seem to understand them. This all possible due to the unique writing skills of Eve Dangerfield

This turning out to be very fun & sexy read
You may read this as a standalone book, but if you wanna get the full effect of the Silver sisters, I’d suggest you read them in order

Silver Daughters Ink Reading order

1. So Wild- Scott & Samantha
2. So Steady- Noah & Nicole
3.

Kissing her wasn’t like kissing anyone else. It was like returning to a place you loved. The beach. The forests. His heart was thumping in his ears, his chest; every inch of his skin. This girl, this fucking girl.”

Ummm....I would like to have a moment of silence for my ovaries, please. They put up a good fight, but they just couldn't hold up against the potency of Noah Newcomb. The man didn't just destroy them, he obliterated them without so much as batting a grumpy and silent eye. Not that eyes could be grumpy....or silent...But whatever! You get what I'm saying here. This book was SPICCCEEEY!!!

Nicole and Noah immediately caught my attention in the previous book. Eve introduced us to the sometimes quirky but mostly manic DaSilva sisters. Nicole was the steady and normal one to the sheer craziness that was her crazy younger sister, Tabby, and tatted up twin, Sam. She also seemed to be somewhat of a black sheep of her quirky and hipster family. But when her family's tattoo shop is in trouble and money is going missing, Nikki puts her life on hold and travels back to help. That's also when things implode around her. Her father has disappeared, her douchbag of a finance has broken up with her after giving her the ultimatum of choosing him or her family, and her sisters are as crazy as always. Then there's also the silent and broody complication in the form of one giant and tatted from head to foot man.

Noah is Nicole's opposite. She goes for the nice and proper men, and Noah is everything but. He's mysterious with an almost deadly aura to him, and yet she's inexplicably drawn to him. And what do you get when two opposites attract? INCENDIARY CHEMISTRY.

If you love your men tatted and with a filthy mouth, Noah is right up your alley. The man is FILTHY with a capital F. I'm talking FILTHY here people. Like make your ovaries blush sort of filthy. But he's also incredibly layered. He's so much more than just tattoos and a grumpy disposition. This is a complicated man with some hidden pain and some dark secrets. And this girl? LOVED HIM.

I adored this story. I'm talking everything about it. It was sexy and fun and oh so delicious! Definitely a must read for all Eve Dangerfield fans.

So Steady is a book that is outside of my comfort zone (I rarely read steamy romances) but still, when I got a chance to read it I wanted to give it a try, because I like to switch genres all the time.
This was also my first time reading a bikers romance (is that how you call it?) and I have to admit, I really enjoyed this dangerous side of the story.

So Steady is second book in the series, but it can be read as standalone.
I didn’t read the previous book and I had no problem following the story whatsoever.

It follows two perspectives of our two main characters: Nicole and Noah.

The novel is set in Australia, which was nice and also bit outside of my comfort zone, as I don’t read many books that take place in that wonderful country.

The writing style is great, so easy to follow, and full of everyday dialogues that make this story so believable.
Seriously, I think Eve Dangerfield is a master when it comes to writing conversations between characters. I would stress out it as her biggest talent as a writer (but storytelling is also worth admiring).

So Steady not only talks about romance and chemistry between main characters, but also family dynamics, business and bike gangs take big part of the story too.

At first I didn’t like how nosy Nicole’s sisters were and how they thought they knew better then her who is good for her and who she should get rid of, when it comes to guys, but then again, without their annoying behaviour there wouldn’t be a story in first place.

There are some steamy and smoothy scenes through the book, and they were handled very well. However, there are not many of them, which I welcomed because I was afraid I wouldn’t like the novel if there was too much sex in it.
If you ask me, those scenes were dosed just right.

Overall, I enjoyed reading So Steady. It was nice to change things and explore outside of my comfort zone, and I would recommend this book to steamy romance lovers.

Eve Dangerfield strikes again! Every time I finish a book of hers I think to myself she can't possibly top herself and every time she proves me wrong. I cannot express in words how much I enjoy her books and with how much relish I devour them without coming across as a crazy person.

I love how she takes two mismatched characters and manages to form them into these sublime couples. And not just random, rampant chemistry couples but ones that truly understand one another in the deepest ways. This book is no exception.

description

Nicole is vastly different to her twin, making their voices and experiences distinct. It took a few chapters for me to start warming up to her. But once I did I just wanted to hug her and be there for her. Nicole has a Plan in her head that she must adhere to in order to get the perfect life she wants. Fix her broken engagement, get her family tattoo removed, control the forces of nature that are her sisters and catch whoever messed with their business. Her attempts to keep everything going just leave her vulnerable to brainwashing from the fiancé and the more she tries to fix things the worse it gets. The fiancé justifiably becomes ex-fiancé very early on in the book. When The Plan heads for the woods to die she feels out of control and her ever present attraction to Noah can't be contained any longer.

description

Noah Newcomb is a huge mysterious presence of a man. Tattooed all over, with a penetrating gaze and a silent, stoic demeanour. He doesn't talk much but his gaze on Nicole every time he sees her says it all. His attraction to her is immediate and fierce but the ring on her finger stops him. When the ring disappears he has to overcome his own issues to be with her. When his past rears it's ugly head, his peaceful life blows up. He wants to tell Nicole everything but finds it so hard to open up and actually articulate all the ugliness and pain.

At first glance these two have nothing in common other than chemistry and attraction but as we read we see how masterfully Eve Dangerfield weaves their characters to not just match but complete and understand each other. She shows them that they don't need to be similar to see one another. That life doesn't need to be one way or another but all together.

If you never read Eve Dangerfield before and you love romance books with some spice, you won't go wrong with picking one of her books up.

RE-READ (May 2024) bumping it up to a full 5 STARS!!

4.5 STARS!!
Sometimes he questioned how he'd ever understood the world before her.
Classic Eve Dangerfield goodness! Dirty, edgy, HEARTFELT. I SO loved it.

It was wonderful to be back in the Silver Daughters Ink world, this time with uptight Nicole and hulking Noah(!!) as the stars of this opposites attract show . . .

Nicole DaSilva is a control freak; straight-laced, by-the-book, and to-the-point. Nothing wrong with that, except when she's surrounded by her family.
As the only non-tattooist in her family, Nicole was used to being treated as the vanilla sheep.
Unfortunately, her well-constructed world has been coming apart at the seams lately, a state of affairs complicated by her very out of character attraction to Noah.
Nicole pictured Noah's big mean tattoos peeking around the corners of a tailored suit. Her insides squeezed tight.
To his own mind, Noah Newcomb is the big bad, the worst of the worst.
"He's big and mean and he looks like he could tear a boar apart with his bare hands."
Even if those around him in his 'new' life don't know what a bad seed he is, he hasn't forgotten . . . now if only he didn't have this one nagging problem in the form of a type-A ballbuster in a pencil skirt.
This dumbfuck infatuation was going to kill him.
Nicole is not just out of his league, she's in another stratosphere.
Anyone could see Nicole DaSilva had a life template and the spot marked 'husband' sure as fuck wasn't Newcomb sized.
So the question becomes:
Would he get a chance to make good on all those heated little looks Nicole shot him?
OH MY GOD! I ate this one up with a huge spoon!

True to form, Ms. Dangerfield did such a great job of weaving a story that was deliciously dirty and hot, hot, hot!
"Come, then you can suck my fingers while I fuck your little pussy raw."
I always love this author's explorations of kink.
"We don't choose what does it for us."
But while, obviously, Noah and Nicole were explosive together, there was so much more to them than just chemistry.

They proved to be flawed and subject to their own vulnerabilities and insecurities, which made for some fabulously messy reading; heartstrings were pulled, tears were shed, and my love for them grew.

And of course, Nicole's sisters, Sam and Tabby, were on hand for some crazy DaSilva family bonding time.
That was the thing about sisters, about family; you knew the make and model of all their buttons.
This is a MUST READ for fans of this author. And if you love a bit of kink and haven't read her stuff, what the heck are you waiting for?!

Note: I'm going to say YES to reading this one as a standalone with the caveat that the story will mean more to you if you start from the beginning.

A warm thank you to the author for allowing me to read and review her work.

5 Rose Gold Stars ⭐️

So Steady is the perfect example of how an opposites attract romance story should be written. A tale of two people with so many issues, that the concept of being happy is foreign. However sometimes what you thought you wanted, wasn't what you needed...

Nicole DaSilva is the ‘vanilla sheep’ of the family in comparison to her outgoing inked siblings. Back home to sort out the finances of the family business Silver Daughters, her life is quickly unravelling. From the outside she’s perceived as accomplished and put together but those that love her know the truth. Her self imposed perfection is suffocating and jeopardising any chance of happiness. But keeping her shit together ended from the very first meeting with their resident tattooist Noah.

"Oh gosh, she thought. No. No. No. But it was too late, excitement burst inside her like an atom bomb, making her skin prickle and her heart pound. He was so big, so beautifully scary and new."

Noah Newcomb, big and rough, keeper of secrets, isn’t looking for any distractions. He’s satisfied with his uncomplicated life of tattooing, one night stands and minimum drama he’s carved out for himself; until her.

"The minute he saw her he’d known he was fucked, not because she was taken or miles out of his league, but because she was rose gold.
She glowed from the inside."

Believing they have nothing in common, it’s the attraction that drives them. Noah unlocks and fulfils a need that Nicole has denied for so long. Unconventional Desires that not only bring them closer together but validate how perfectly suited they actually are.

"Jesus fucking Christ, that sex. He’d never fucked like that before. As though the world would end if he didn’t blow her mind."

With her distinctive voice, edgy writing, snort worthy humour and pushing the boundaries kink, Eve Dangerfield nailed this.

They speak my language…

***4.5 Stars***

I read a lot of books from different walks of life and appreciate the variety in seeing how others live but I absolutely loved the opportunity to read a book set in my own backyard. Well, not exactly my backyard but pretty much my next-door neighbours’ backyard. Melbourne is just a hop, skip and jump away from Brissy...if you call an 18+ hour drive not too far.

I loved stepping back into Eve Dangerfield's world and catching up with the Silver Daughters Ink characters. These characters speak a language I understand and their lingo and jargon are familiar and comfortable. So Steady left me completely satisfied and desperate for more.

I wasn't sure how I would deal with a storyline where the heroine puts up with a disrespectful, cheating fiance, just to keep her image intact. It's not the kind of behaviour or a person I can relate to and respect. As the story progresses and we learn more about Nicole, it all starts to make sense and her growth makes it easier to see why she HAD put up with the douchewaffle.

Poor Noah!! I loved this character...mostly. There were a few times where I wanted to reach into the book and shake my finger in his face. Consciously making bad decisions that would affect his happiness made me see red. This poor bloke is paying for the sins of his father and feels a burden from leaving the motorcycle club that WAS his "family". His past was ugly and the people who were supposedly his family, do not show him the respect he deserves. I hated that his past still affects his future.

This story is a journey showing two people striving for their own versions of happiness. I loved their attraction, connection and understanding of each other. So Steady was sexy, funny and really entertaining. I loved catching up with the sisters and getting an update on their lives.

Eve Dangerfield again leaves me on a big high and I will definitely wait with bated breath for more Silver Daughters Ink in the future.

"Please don't hurt me."

So Steady is the second book in the Silver Daughters Series. Although this is the second book, it can absolutely be read as a stand-alone. Nicole DaSilva has moved home to help get her family's business in order. Nicole is working hard to get over her broken engagement, reconnect with her sisters, and get her tattoo removed. The last thing on her mind is falling for a hot "bad boy" tattoo artist that works in the shop. Noah Newcomb is a man of mystery and is everything Nicole is NOT. Somehow these opposites are drawn to each other, and although they both carry a great deal of baggage, somehow they make a perfect match.

description
"Anger, hot and lovely, ignited her jealousy like a moth through kerosene."
Told in third person POV, So Steady is a perfect blend of passion, action, romance, and tatted goodness. The plot is intense, and the action is non-stop! I suppose the most appealing element to this read is the smoking hot passion between Nicole and Noah. I adored the way they crashed together! Another prominent element of this read is how Nicole learns to love herself for exactly who she is. I adore a strong heroine, and Nicole did not disappoint!
"So if we fall in love, we'll have a killer story to tell our grandchildren."
Overall, this is my first Eve Dangerfield read, and I will not hesitate to read another. With smoking, hot passion, and complex characters, So Steady will appeal to readers who enjoy strong opposites attract read with tattoos and sister love!

HOLY SMOKES!

When Eve Dangerfield reached out to me asking if I would like a complimentary copy of her new novel, I was flattered. *THANK YOU* A good book friend of mine was raving about her work so I knew I had to read it. Also, would you please take a look at the steamy, electric cover? Gorgeous! I accepted it graciously, but then that little seed of doubt had planted itself in my subconscious.

This is a new to me author. This is the second book in a standalone series. (I RARELY read books out of order.) What if I don't like it? What if it truly isn't a standalone? What if I have to give it a bad review? How can I do this to such a sweet author?

I decided to tell my brain to shut up and jumped into this story. And I am so glad that I did! Nicole and Noah had some major chemistry. People had to been comparing them to Beauty and the Beast but I just really see them as the good girl and the bad boy. (However, we quickly learn that Nicole isn't all that good 😉)

Nicole is the perfect one out of the DaSilva bunch. But when her engagement gets called off, she heads back home to escape reality. But coming home isn't much better. Her dad has ran off and someone has been stealing money from the tattoo shop. Nicole is determined to get her life together and solve the money mystery, but something, or someone, keeps getting in her way.

Noah is a tattooed recluse. He completes his shift at the tattoo parlor and goes about his business. However, Nicole's return keeps getting under his skin. He's attracted to her. He knows that she isn't a one time thing. But Noah also has secrets that can ruin everything if he lets Nicole in.

But he does let her in and its -

I really wanted to give this 5 stars but I felt behind and confused in certain scenes. I also felt like I missed out on Nicole and Noah's first meeting. I do agree that this can be read as a standalone, but it would have been better if I had started with the first book.

4 Stars!

”Family is more important than ink. Even in this family.”

Nicole DaSilva may share her shiny black hair and her pretty blue eyes with her twin sister, Sam, but that’s where the similarities end. From the beginning, Nicole has always been the odd man out as far as her family’s concerned. Neat, organized with a little bit of prim and proper thrown in for good measure, Nix finds herself to be a bit of a puzzle for her free spirited, ink-loving family. When Nicole’s forced to come home to help figure out why the family tattoo parlor is suddenly hemorrhaging money, she doesn’t expect to stay long. As the weeks turn into months and her fiancé back home turns into even more of a douchebag, Nicole finds herself with some choices to make. The big, rough, hot tattoo artist working in the next room isn't making her choices any easier.

From the moment he saw her, Noah Newcomb wanted to mess Nicole up in the dirtiest way possible. Something about her has him thinking X-rated thoughts whenever they’re in the same room, but Noah knows she’d never go for him. Plus, like all good book boyfriends, Noah’s got secrets of his own he’s trying desperately to keep under wraps.

So Steady is the second offering from Eve Dangerfield’s Silver Daughters Ink series and I just loved it. I’m a huge fan of Ms. Dangerfield and have enjoyed everything I’ve read from her, but something about Nicole and Noah together really did it for me. Maybe it was Nicole’s palpable need for Noah and everything he could offer her (and I’m not just talking bedroom stuff, people!) she wasn’t getting from her fiancé. Maybe it’s Noah’s sloooow but steady realization he’s better than everyone’s always told him he is, and he does deserve Nicole.

“I can’t say it yet, but I…and you. Get it?”

Regardless, I enjoyed seeing sides of both characters I didn’t expect to find. And seeing how uncomfortable, in the very best way, Noah makes Nicole once he gets her naked is worth the price of admission.

Noah and Nicole are fabulous together but the DaSilva sisters are what’s making this series for me. Tabby alone could probably carry it on her own with her no filter, no responsibility ways and the entertaining situations that arise from that, but I love all three of them together. The back and forth banter is the perfect mix of brutal honesty, snark and the all-abiding love all sisters should be so lucky to experience.

While So Steady can most definitely be read as a standalone, a bit of the family’s back story is discussed in the first book and not really mentioned in detail in this one. Nicole and Noah exceeded every expectation I had for them as a couple, but I gotta say, Tabby and Toby's story can’t get here soon enough.

3.5 to 4 Stars!

First, I'm in love with Noah! I have a thing for the big, broody men and that is Noah and then some. He's got a past and he's all tatted up which only enhanced my love for him. The fact that his look makes people wary was also appealing to me. Now, I like a scary dude as long as he isn't truly mean. He treated Nicole very well and that was just icing on the cake for me.

As for Nicole, I had a really hard time with her. I just really struggle with a heroine who doesn't have self respect and a few times she begged. That just makes me cringe. I see why the author created her character that way. It was a good way for Noah to lift her up. Despite knowing this, I still struggle with it. What can I say? I like what I like.

While this is a standalone, I do wish I had read the first book before this one. Only because I have no clue what is going on with the girls dad. He's missing and I don't know why or what happened. I also felt that at times the characters were speaking another language. I'm not sure if the author was starting new slang of if I'm just behind the times. It's probably me.

The three sisters characters are very colorful and I liked that. I'm into the quirky characters and Tabby's book really intrigues me. She could be a bit much at times but overall, she made me laugh. This was a good first book to read by this author. I will definitely be checking out more.

Another great read. This time it’s Nicole and Noah.

It’s impossible not to love Noah. I fell him love with the quiet giant in the previous book. Noah is a man running from his past. He wasn’t dealt the best hand but with a little help he’s found his groove. And he’s such a sweetie. I hate that his expectations from life are so low. While he’s attracted to Nicole he doesn’t feel he deserves her.

Nicole took a while to really grow on me. Not her fault at all the problem is all me, I like reading about carefree, confident women. The ones who just roll with it and throw caution to the wind. That’s what I aspire to. But in reality I’m probably more like Nicole.

But I loved these two together their relationship just worked. Plus I really wanted Noah to be happy.

I was surprised how the sisters particularly Sam reacted to a certain event. I couldn’t quite wrap my head around it.

I struggled a bit (way more than I should have done) with the bikers being called bikies. I’ve never come across that before and I didn’t like it. (You see definitely more Nicole than Sam and Tabby). Plus I don’t think I’ve ever read a book where bikers are looked down upon before.
Now it’s safe to say I’ve never met an actual biker. My entire knowledge comes from Sons of Anarchy. And an endless supply of MC romances. Where bikers are hot, sexy and dangerous but desirable.
I was surprised by how different things are here. Bikers truly are the scum of the earth. I think I might need to binge read some MC romances just to get my hot tattooed biker boys back on track.

But seriously I’m loving this series and I can’t wait for Tabby’s book. Plus I’m wanting to know exactly what’s going on with Edgar.

I voluntarily read a review copy kindly provided by the author.

I liked the quirky vibe and over the top cast of characters in this story. I also liked the rambunctious DaSilvas, and how they supported each other, regardless of how flagrant their individual behaviour was (and there were many instances of colourful or strong language and eyebrow raising shenanigans!)
Trigger Alert: there is a fair amount of swearing in this novel, but I suspect that this was done on purpose. From my recent experience, many MC/biker gang story lines tend to have a lot of swearing and graphic descriptions of violence to set the tone. It didn't bother me here, but I often found that a lot of the swearing was unnecessary and got in the way of the story. I find that when an author uses too many adjectives or adverbs, the flow of the writing is interrupted and you just get bogged down in the words, as opposed to the visual images the words are attempting to convey.

I can swear like a sailor, given the provocation, but when I once saw a video of myself inserting the f-bomb in a conversation at a family picnic, I realized that I came across as a foolish shrew. After viewing that example of gratuitous swearing, I decided that there is no need for any overly aggressive language on my part unless the emotional level of the situation warrants it. So here is my point: I get that sometimes a scene calls for melodramatic or strong language, but after a while all the f-bombs just get distracting, and lower the tone of a story.
But that aside, I often enjoy a rollicking, over the top story, despite all the colourful language: I rate this a 3.75 out of 5. For fans of quirky biker gang/tattoo artist story lines: Enjoy!
My thanks to the author for a free copy of this novel in exchange for an honest review.

My very first read by Eve Dangerfield after the author offered me an ARC copy thinking this might be a book that was suited to my reading tastes and "oh boy!" was she right!!!
This was in fact so....very.....much....."up my alley!" Ok enough with the idioms but you get the point..... I totally loved it and now consider myself a new fan of this author.
It was such enjoyable reading and also the writing style was perfect for me.
I read it in one sitting.... not wanting to put it aside for any reason..... another sign of a good read in my opinion.

I found this book to be "quirky" and humorous with some pretty crazy dialogue and I loved all the internal monologuing by the heroine (too hilarious!!). It was a totally character driven read but not short on plot either....plenty of romance, chemistry and steam between the MC's!!!...as well as interesting family dynamics between the three sisters .
At first glance Noah appears to be much more of a sympathetic character (even with his secrets) than Nicole but as the book progresses it is clear that Nicole is much less superficial than she comes across initially and I really came to appreciate, respect and adore this straight-laced, type A "gal" before this book was over.
The storyline had absolutely no problem holding my interest. My only regret was that I didn't read the first book in the series prior to this and while that is not totally necessary IMO, I think it would have given more context and a better introduction to all the other characters. (Will be going back for that book in the near future).
Favorite scene: When Noah and Nicole are at her Ex's house picking up her personal belongings - it made me laugh and smile. 🙂

***As an aside: I really do need to mention that at the end of this book Eve includes the first 2 chapters of her book "Act Your Age" which I read really quickly after finishing "So Steady" and I was literally sucked so fast into that new story that I ended up reading that book next.
It was so good!!! I was blown away by both the story and the writing. It was a total 5 star ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ read for me, see included link to my review below .

This is the second book in the series but can definitely be read as a standalone I did and had no issues whatsoever.
Nicole Dasilva is the straight-laced business-minded sister of the family who is back home trying to get the family's tattoo shop back in the black.
Due to her refusal to move back home and put him first her idiot, cardboard-cutout fiancee cuts her loose leaving her newly single again.
Nicole is the complete opposite to her two extraverted and tattooed sisters Sam and Tabby.
She lacks confidence and doesn't really believe in her own self-worth this is doubly compounded by her cheating Ex who she has allowed to treat her like dirt.
Enter Noah Newcomb who is nothing like the men she usually dates hes a big burly tattooed artist who works at the family business.
His dad was also the president of a notorious biker gang.
Hes tough, huge and Nicole finds him super scary but in an altogether toe-tingling good way.
At the exact same time, she is also insanely attracted to him.
These two despite being poles apart are fascinated with each other despite Noah actively trying to resist the heavy-pull.
So this was seriously hot, like man I need a cold shower and some personal one on one time with BOB kind of hot.
This book will leave you totally squirming but in a major good way if you get my drift.
I adored the filthy antics these two got up to together and loved the razor edge of the wordplay that these two got off on it was so seriously sexy.
This is a story that takes two people you would never place together and then shows you just how perfect going off-script can be.
They both have hangups and are flawed in some way but together these issues are muted.
I liked both Noah and Nicole: Noah had that smidge of an edge for me.
I took a tad longer to warm-up to Nicole.
I also liked the whole Tatoo parlour setting.
I liked the overall simplicity of the storyline and felt that the writing here was top-notch.
This really was a great contemporary romance that I thoroughly enjoyed.
This one gets a definite thumbs up from my camp.
I voluntary reviewed a copy of So Steady (Silver Daughters Ink, #2).

This was my first read by this author. So, I can say this can definitely be read as standalone.
I enjoy it.

This was fast & steamy read about Nicole and Noah. The two have an abundance of chemistry but also a lot of baggage. Noah has some issues with his past and family, and Nicole just got out of a relationship.

If you like your heroes grumpy and with tattoos with naughty parts left in the plotline this is a book for you.

This was sex and gender positive read.
Even though it took me some time to worm up to the heroine overall I enjoyed reading this.
There is some mystery about heroine dad going on which I sure happen in book one but will probably be resolved in book three. So naturally, I am curious what will happen with that premise.

3,5 stars

I was waiting for Noah's story - and it did not disappoint. I love a big silent brooding hero, with secrets to hide but who will adore his heroine.

It took me awhile to warm up to Nicole - I was all about Noah right from the start. He has intrigued me since book one.

However I did warm to Nicole as we got to know her more as the book went on. It was the perfect opposites attract story - and they are probably one of my favourite couples of the year. Experiencing them trying to fight an off the charts attraction was just brilliant.

Eve Dangerfield is probably my favourite author at present. The way she can write such different characters and drag me into a story every time, whilst every story being different - not carbon copy characters or stories. Just pure engaging, passionate, funny, relatable characters and stories.

*I received a free copy of ARC from Miss Dangerfield in exchange for honest review*

This is my first read by Miss Dangerfield. The story of 2 damaged person on the opposite end finding love in each other, is always my go to book. In So Steady, Noah is the hero and Nicole is the heroine. It takes a me a while to warm up to Nicole. I think because she is very insecure woman with so many needy issues. I got that she feels like outsider inside her own family. Her past is full of rejection. And her attitude toward Noah is very very annoying. How she closed up when Noah wants to get intimate.
Toward the end, I start to warms up to her. She somehow change after she confronts her jerk ex fiancee. Then she becomes this brave heroine.

Noah on the other hand, I love him. He is very endearing character. His upbringing is hard and rough. But he is a gentle soul. And he likes to paint and draw. From the outside he is tough and rude asshole, but inside he is all warm and fuzzy. His attraction toward Nicole is awkward but sweet.

The story itself its bit out of place. I do not feel the chemistry connection/attraction between Nicole and Noah. It seems very rushed at the beginning. I wish I can read more of their attraction. The plot is OK. Its is pacing in the right pace. Not too fast and not too slow. Secondary characters also bring the story more alive especially Tabby.

Overall this is an OK read for me.

⭐⭐⭐⭐ Nixalopolous stars!!

“I’ll hurt you, Nicole. I’ve wanted you for too long, too fucking bad to hold back. You let me into that little pussy, I’ll fuck you until it hurts. I want it too bad not to.”

description

Let me just take a moment to cool the hell down because this book set me on fire. Nikki and Noah were THE REAL DEAL.. The chemistry between these two totally different characters was out of this world hot and unbelievably sexy.

description

“I want to fuck you. You know why?”
“No,” she lied.
He wanted to unwrap and corrupt her, be the guy who showed her how good sex could be. What other advantage did she have over the Kellys and Daniellas of this world? He shifted, settling on top of her, one knee on either side of her hips.
“You want dick more than any girl I’ve ever met.”

I won't say that I loved everything about So Steady because there were times where I felt like I really needed to strangle the hell out of Nicole.
She was beautiful, successful, intelligent and independent yet her insecurities and the way her fiance treated her made it impossible for me to love her. Hence, the 4 stars.

It just felt wrong for someone like her to put up with such a hateful person and fight ferociously for such a doomed and toxic relationship.

Noah! Oh Noah!!

description

God how much I loved that man. I knew from the first moment I met him in So Wild that he was going to be unforgettable and unique and believe me, he is the best Eve Dangerfield has come up with so far.

So Steady is not your normal love story. Eve Dangerfield has this urge to challenge your reading boundaries, test your limits and take you to the unknown.

“Come, you filthy little slut. Come, then you can suck my fingers while I fuck your little pussy raw.”

It's also a book where you will witness two opposites unwittingly fall in love, learn how to deal with their unwanted attraction and overcome their differences.

“Kissing her wasn’t like kissing anyone else. It was like returning to a place you loved. The beach. The forests. His heart was thumping in his ears, his chest; every inch of his skin. This girl, this fucking girl.”

So Steady was a journey to embrace one's fears and insecurities and make the most out of them.

Gritty, tantalizing, and risqué!

So Steady is an alluring, fervid tale that takes you on a journey into the life of Nicole DaSilva, a successful accountant who inadvertently finds her life turned upside down after her fiance calls off their engagement, her father goes missing, the family tattoo shop is close to financial ruin, and she finds herself unexpectedly attracted to the tall, broody, tattoo artist Noah.

The prose is steamy and intense. The characters are supportive, dependable, and secretive. And the plot is a passionate tale of life, love, emotion, instant attraction, smouldering chemistry, familial drama, sexual tension, dirty talk, and a dab of mystery.

Overall, I found So Steady to be a sultry, dramatic, erotic treat by Dangerfield with a multilayered storyline, quirky characters, and a whole lot of heat.

Thank you to Eve Dangerfield for providing me with a copy in an exchange for an honest review.

So Steady is book 2 in the Silver Daughters Ink and it's the first book I have read from this author but most definitely not the last. I really enjoyed this book, it was cute, funny and super sexy. Noah and Nicole were awesome together, their chemistry was off the charts. Noah was a fantastic H, he is so caring and thoughtful with a side of dirty. It took me a little longer to warm up to Nicole because of her insecurities. The sisters Sam and Tabby were enjoyable although OTT at times that became a bit much for me but I still enjoyed them and look forward to reading their books. Even though this is book 2 it reads fine as a standalone.

Nicole was the female of shall I say innocence until she meets Noah. He wasn't the type of guy she would be into because they're opposites but as the old saying opposites attract and these two really do attract . Nicole is the planner, has been timid due to things that happened to her. So when she decides to go back home for awhile but while being around her family can be welcoming but Nicole is too timid to voice what she really wants.
Noah's past isn't really shared much in the beginning of the book but he does like figuring out Nicole which he's pretty much good at figuring her about. He real, knows her better than she knows herself. He even helps Nicole make her voice be heard and say what she really desires.
I really enjoyed their chemistry and how they're able to talk to one another without judgment of each other. There were some really hot moments between the two but also understanding as well. There are moments in the story where people make judgment calls due to someones past mistakes instead of who they've become and it might have caused them more problems for both sides.
I really enjoyed all differences of each characters and the cause of event that brings them together.

This is the 2nd book, but I read this first with no problem.
Nicole is one of 3 DaSilva sisters. Her sisters Tabby & Nicole's twin Sam are the edgier, more out- there sisters.
Nicole has traveled from Adelaide to her hometown Melbourne to help with their tattoo business.
Nicole has just had a bad break up with her no good fiance' Aaron.
Noah works at Silver Daughters Ink. He's the quiet, broody, sexy guy that is opposite of her ex.
Nicole is intrigued. This is 3rd person POV.
I wouldn't say this is slow burn. It's more of a smoldering attraction.
Noah isn't exactly an open book. He wants his past to stay in the past.
Nicole seems to be almost chasing Noah. He just wants her to be sure that she knows what she wants.
Sam's book was the 1st book. I need to check out that one too.
3.5 stars for So Steady. I received an advance copy from the author. Thank you!

3.25 stars. Really enjoyed the story. It gets me super excited when I see references of places and sites that I know so well in my own home town. Unfortunately I had to drop some stars because even though I liked everything from the characters, to the plot, backdrop and hawt smut; I didn’t really feel the chemistry or passion that I normally seek when I’m bbf and romance hunting.

Told in dual 3rd person POV. Standalone story in a series. HFN ending that preps you into book #3.

Thank you, Eve for this book! It was awesome!

Our heroine thinks she will find happiness following a completely different path than her sisters and father. What she doesn't realize is how important family is. Then she meets who she thinks is the ultimate bad boy.
Our hero has led a life full of bikers and violence. After spending time behind bars he cleans up his act. He takes his art as a tattooist and tries to make a life for himself. Can he convince the boss's daughter he is not the bad boy she thinks he is?
This is a series with interesting characters and a mystery lurking on the outskirts.

First read 2019, reread 2024.

I never wrote a review for this one but third book in the series came out so I wanted to get back into it to feel the characters again. And what do you know, it was as good as I remember!

Nikki and Noah hat good chemistry and I loved how they got closer to each other even though it was maybe a bit chaotic in the beginning. I really enjoyed these two and the whole story.

After reading the first book in this series - So Wild - I was very curious about Nicole, who was a bit of an outsider compared to her family. She's an accountant, has a fiancee, and a "normal" life. But everything complicates for her, when she's back home to help her sister with their family tattoo studio, and she encounters Noah - the tattoo artist with a past.

Nicole was a bit of a doormat at the beginning, and I wasn't a fan, I get that her ex was supposed to be the bad guy, but she really should dump his ass sooner. Her facade of the prim and proper girl fell really fast, and I liked seeing her free and being herself.
"When I'm with you, here and now, I feel so steady."

Noah was an intense guy from the outside. But I liked how he was with Nicole. He also was more on the grumpy side, but it was great to see how how she made him laugh. And damn him and his really dirty mouth, that boy was good. The sex part was not my cup of tea - I'm not into the name calling, but that's just a personal preference. But if you enjoy your sexy times filthy with a lot of spicy this will be even more perfect for you. I also really liked his backstory, and how he tried to change his life for the better - though I would love to see that plot develop into more.

I truly enjoyed how these two brought the best in each other, Noah came a little out of his shell, and Nicole found what she truly loved, and she wasn't just trying to please everyone. I loved their scenes, where they just opened up to one another, and how Noah was just so sweet. Those moments truly made me believe their chemistry, and their feelings.

Another glimpse into the DaSilva sister's life was a great journey. Though the multitude of plots got me a bit distracted. But overall it was an enjoyable read, with lots of colorful characters in the lovely Australian scenery. Also that ending got me really curious for the next book.
