The Wicked Horse series is one of my favorites from Sawyer Bennett and it just keeps getting better. These books will push your limits and have you gripping your Kindle as you read. Leighton and August had so much going on in this story and it kept everything super intriguing. There was suspense and so much heat you'll be fanning yourself. From page one I was captivated and dying to find out what would happen with August and Leighton. Their journey wasn't always the easiest but it was a really fun one.

That was a great 7th book in the Vegas series.
Some Wicked Horse, a bit Jameson Security and a lot of family excitement.
I loved reading it. It was verrry erotic and exciting and heartbreaking and dangerous.
But also so very sweet and second-chancey.
A couple of things... The name August?! Ugh. So not sexy. I always had an 90 year old guy in my head when I read that name. LOL.
And then their age. They're just 28 and they kind of appear ten years older. With all they've done and been through? :/
But the story was great. I adored all the people and it was super erotic! Phew!
And Sawyer has finally not used all the AS's she could get her hands on. ☺ OK, I still counted at least nine, but still - better than her usual 49. ☺
(You know the ones, right? She couldn't pick him up from school, as she had to get her nails done.)

I was front and center when Sawyer Bennett first presented her Wicked Horse Series years ago. With the first posting in 2015, the erotic series laced with heart, strong characters, and incredibly sexy times, the group of books took off and had a shelf life of their own. The demand for these books was so strong, the spin-off series Wicked Horse Vegas happened after the five books from the first series.
Wicked Horse Vegas has continued this idea of freedom and trust sexually, strong plots, and characters and does it on steroids. There is suspense, a targeted couple, and intense sexual activity. Wicked Secrets takes one of the Jameson Security fellas from that specific series, and has him reunited with his one true love who disappeared ten years ago.

Turn on your fans, serve yourself a big glass of ice cold water, get comfortable and prepare yourselves for another scorching hot, emotion and exciting romance by the Wickedly talented Sawyer Bennett.
To date, I’ve read and reviewed close fifty of Sawyer Bennett’s books. It’s not all of them, but enough to be able to say I REALLY enjoy her stories. It’s also hard to describe in different ways how much I like them without having my reviews feel repetitive. So I’m going to do a list of the elements I liked about this book.
➵ Bennett has created many worlds and it’s wonderful when they cross over. The combination between the Wicked Horse Vegas (with a mention to the original series) and the Jameson Security Force giving readers on update on an overall arc that’s been developing was just great.
➵ I really like the hot and steamy eroticism that pushes sexy limits. If you’re new to the series, the Wicked Horse is a sex club. Nuf said.
➵ Leighton Hale is a wonderful heroine. She’s fearless and strong. I can’t say a lot more about her without having to real more about the plot, but I definitely admired and liked her.
➵ August Greenfield was a good man, with a good heart, and I understood he’s anger towards Leighton, but there were times he was a right douche canoe in the beginning.
➵ I loved the introduction to Declan Blackwood, he’s a good friend and sexy as all get out. Here’s a small spoiler. He’s not only the hero in the next book of the series, but he also participates in a sizzling threesome in this book.
➵ The story is well paced, I read this book in a single sitting because I just couldn’t put it down. Besides the great character development and sexiness, Sawyer Bennett writes a story that will touch your heart. Leighton and August had thought they’d live happily ever after when they were teenagers but life separated them for ten years. The pain, suffering and fear they experienced was palpable. Overcoming that was not easy. Forgiveness was not simple. But the way in which Bennett reveals August and Leighton’s tale felt effortless to read and I loved every single minute of it.

I borrowed this three check marks from the author's review...trying to sum up the plot of the story.
✔️ She vanished ten years ago without a trace.
✔️ He spent years looking for the truth.
✔️ Everything he knows will change in an instant when he opens the door to find her standing there.
But you see, these three check marks were quite the issue I had with the story...
First of all, after 10 years...of course your feelings change, duh?! In this case, they are non-existant with the H, cause well, he's all humming and drumming with all the non-commital sex-capades in the sex club Wicked horse, cause well, that's all he's prepared to give or/and take.
So, when suddenly the "young love" from his past comes knocking on his door revealing the HUGE secret, she's been carrying for so long, and hiding (literaly) from the mob while she and her father were placed into the witness protection program - our H is pissed, within rights...but there are greater things at stake, and the matters of life and death prevail against anger and resentment.
Nevertheless, H almost suddenly realizes how he can have both ways, his unexpected life altering discovery brings the woman he used to know into his life again, and all of a sudden she jumps into this weird arrangement with him - in Wicked horse, non the less...(and she never, ever had these experiences whatsoever...but all of a sudden she's awakened)
Seriously ?!
i didn't buy it!!! At all!!!
And then all the bloody feelings come rushing in!!!!
From where?!
Really?!
Apparently, she's been pinning for him and feeling guilty and what not all those years being away in hiding...so, if NOT for the grave situation (that matter of life and death and a HUGE secret, but I'm guessing you've already guessed what it's about), would she seek him out?! At all?!
I kinda think not, she wouldn't...but than again, the book wouldn't be called Wicked secret, now, would it!
Anyhow, this didn't work for me...it was rushed, it was predictable and it was a bit lame...in spite of the good writing, cause Ms Sawyer Bennett can write, it's just that second chance romances with a huge time span, need much more, than just a few written pages for the characters to make that transition towards "re-connecting" and actual feelings!
And I'm sorry too say this but there wasn't any character that I actually liked or cared for, apart for the actual secret...

Listening to this on audiobook took the heat to a whole new level. Kirsten Leigh and Lance Greenfield were scorching as Leighton and August. I especially enjoyed Kirsten Leigh's performance and thought that she showed just the right amount of emotion and vulnerability, while also being sultry and sexy. Lance Greenfield was great, but he was a bit too gravelly and didn't fit as well in my mind as August. Overall, the narration was enjoyable though and really took the story up a notch.

I always know that I am in for some super sexy times when I pick up a Wicked Horse book! Wicked Secret was no different and my kindle practically melted from all the heat in this one. It was part second chance and part romantic suspense, blending the Wicked Horse and Jameson Security series so well. I loved seeing old favorites from both series and also meeting possible new ones as well (a story for Declan please?)
There was a bit of hate love going on in this one thanks to all the history August shared with Leighton. I understood why he was so hurt and upset, but some of his behavior still didn't really sit right with me. Part of the issue for me is that although I love second chance romances, it does bother me when the sexual experiences of the characters during the separation is grossly imbalanced. I don't hold it against August for indulging frequently at the Wicked Horse (the book IS part of the Wicked Horse series after all), I just wish Leighton would have had some other experiences as well. August did have a very tender side that did come out, but overall I would have preferred less anger and back and forth from him. To her credit, Leighton was very apologetic for her actions and took a lot of what he dished her. I'm glad that she didn't become a doormat though and actually pushed back when it was most critical. The pacing of the story was great, but the ending wrapped up a little too quickly. I would have liked more resolution and discussion between August and Leighton and some groveling wouldn't have hurt either.
Overall, Wicked Secret is a great addition to the series that fans are sure to enjoy!

It was part second chance and part romantic suspense, blending the Wicked Horse and Jameson Security series so well. I loved seeing old favorites from both series and also meeting possible new ones as well (a story for Declan please?)
There was a bit of hate love going on in this one thanks to all the history August shared with Leighton. I understood why he was so hurt and upset, but some of his behavior still didn't really sit right with me. Part of the issue for me is that although I love second chance romances, it does bother me when the sexual experiences of the characters during the separation is grossly imbalanced. I don't hold it against August for indulging frequently at the Wicked Horse (the book IS part of the Wicked Horse series after all), I just wish Leighton would have had some other experiences as well. August did have a very tender side that did come out, but overall I would have preferred less anger and back and forth from him. To her credit, Leighton was very apologetic for her actions and took a lot of what he dished her. I'm glad that she didn't become a doormat though and actually pushed back when it was most critical. The pacing of the story was great, but the ending wrapped up a little too quickly. I would have liked more resolution and discussion between August and Leighton and some groveling wouldn't have hurt either.
Overall, Wicked Secret is a great addition to the series that fans are sure to enjoy!

An emotionally-charged second chance…
Whew - I’m reminded how this author never shies away from the steamy side of romance! The Wicked Horse Vegas may be wicked but with adults fulfilling their desires safely and consensually. August and Leighton weren’t shy either as they laid it all on the line – their anger, their fears, their desire. They were older now with a lot more deal with including a more mature take on what love meant…
I loved this story full of all the emotions I crave. There’s nothing better than getting lost in drama – especially when it isn’t your own, lol. August took the hits pretty well, considering, his anger wasn’t misplaced at all. Leighton took the brunt of it even though it was hard to fault her given the circumstances. Years later, questions would be answered and love would be re-tested as they both dealt with the here and now. Their story was full of all the ups and downs you would expect, plus more, all told in this author’s gift for words. All of it made for another great read in the series! ~Diane, 4 stars

Y’all know I love a good second-chance romance, right? Love how the lead characters have to get over whatever it was that broke things off in the first place to get them to realize that there’s still a spark, a connection between them.
And wow, do August and Leighton have some crazy things to get over in Wicked Secret. Namely the past ten years since Leighton disappeared without a trace.
But from Leighton’s ringing of August’s doorbell through the very last page, it was obvious there was still so much love simmering beneath the anger and distrust between them. And it took them a good while for everyone involved to see that the choices made, the decisions and secrets kept for so long are what made them the adults they now are. And that those choices while devastating shouldn’t keep them from living their happily ever after. I couldn’t help but root for them to figure it all out and to really trust themselves and their feelings—and trust each other too.
I really enjoyed this latest book in the fun and sexy Wicked Horse Vegas series. And I’m really looking forward to Declan’s story next! ~ Missy, 4 stars

For me, sex club books really depend on how they're written, but I shouldn't doubt Sawyer, because I've loved everything I've read of hers, and this book was really great too.
I was intrigued from the very start when we got the introduction between August and Leighton, and the huge bombshell that got dropped. The reason they reconnect is also a huge part of this book, and it was written really well.

Wicked Secret was the eighth book in the Wicked Horse Vegas series by Sawyer Bennett.
It had been a while since I had read the previous book of the series so I had not remembered the main character; however, it wasn’t necessary and could be read as a stand-alone.
August Greenfield was a frequent attender to the Wicked Horse sex club in Las Vegas. It was great sex with no attachments. He refused relationships after the love of his life vanished without a trace ten years ago. He was currently working at Jameson Force Security after having worked for the Las Vegas PD for several years.
Leighton Hale. Leighton was a mystery as the story began. The book opened with Leighton arriving at August’s home in the middle of the night seeking help after having been missing or assumed dead for ten years. No spoilers, so no elaboration but a great way to open the saga.
Although the main storyline was a second chance theme between August and Leighton, there was another significant storyline running simultaneously; which provided additional depth and complexity.
As to the characters, I had a hard time buying into both August and Leighton. August was cold and mechanical to me. I get why, but I wanted to see more from him. And I can’t pinpoint what it was about Leighton but her aloofness with those around her extended to me as well. That could be the expert writing from Bennett (which was a given) to feel the detachment but I didn’t warm up to them until the end.
All in all, it was well written, well developed, emotional, somewhat suspenseful, included tons of detailed sex and was entertaining. It was a great addition to the series and I can’t wait for Declan’s story next in Wicked Billionaire.
Until then, Wicked Secret was an inferred crossover with Bennett’s Jameson Force Security series, which I love. And we finally get Malik’s story next in Code Name: Ghost (book five, Jameson Force Security). After that, we’re back to Declan at the Wicked Horse!

WOW!!! This book was so much more than I expected when I started it! I always love the Wicked Horse books but this one was a wonderful mix of the Wicked Horse series and Ms. Bennett's newest series, Jameson Force Security. On top of that, it's a second chance romance (and I love those). Not only does this book have some REALLY hot, sexy scenes, it also has the perfect amount of intrigue to keep readers on the edge of their seats! And... readers of said Jameson Force Security series get a peak at some much anticipated happenings!!!

Another book set in the Wicked Horse Vegas world mixed with the Jameson Force Security world? Umm….Yes, please! And this baby served up an extremely big dose of smexynes, heart and got me a tinsy bit closer to a certain JSF book *cough* Ghost *cough*
I kind of adored Leighton. This woman has been put through way more than anyone should be put through in her short lifetime, but she’s come out of it with compassion, heart and a stubborn strength that I couldn’t help but love and admire. August...I loved the man, I did, because he had this code of honor that came through in his every action...but...and I hate this ‘but’ because I did understand where he was coming from...but it had a tendency to make him blind to how another would react to the same situation.
Leighton and August’s second chance journey pulled at my heartstrings and frustrated the hell out of me in equal measure. I definitely wanted them to work everything out because it was obvious they were each other's everything, but they definitely had issues/assumptions they wouldn’t, not couldn’t, but wouldn’t let go of. Thankfully they do get their reality checks, which I was happy about, but I also feel that it was a bit rushed (even though the crazy going on around them did warrant a quick-ish resolution).
This installment of the WHV is very character driven, which I had no problem with since it really was about Leighton and August getting their second chance, but it is also the book that is for those of us who are DYING for Code Name: Ghost in the JSF series and I thoroughly enjoyed it and cannot wait to experience all that Ghost has to offer.

I freaking loved this book!!! I have to admit that the first 30% of the book I was crying like a baby so be prepared with a box of tissues because you will probably need them. I devoured this book, 272 pages, and I didn't move an inch while reading it.
Sawyer Bennett didn't just give us another great Wicked Horse Vegas story she combined it with her Jameson Force Security series and knocked it out of the park. We have a combination of suspense with some wickedly hot scenes at the Wicked Horse AND.... a second chance at love story with a secret that will change lives forever!

August, I thought, was horribly immature throughout this book. Not only was he not truly ready to settle down, given his favorite past time, but when Leighton comes knocking, he is thrown right back to when he was 18 and fumbling through life. And, even when he’s presented with all of the facts, he just is not really able to see past all that’s happened.
Then you have Leighton. She was tough. She took the tongue lashings that were given out, but because she’s a mom, she did endure anything and everything to make sure that her son was taken care of.
This wasn’t very fraught with mystery. And, while they did have some steamy scenes, again, August was immature and even a bully at times, towards Leighton. It was a game of chicken and it made me so mad that he would play with her feelings that way.
Finally, the ending felt really rushed and not at all like an ending. I’m not sure if we’ll see more of them, but I felt that they didn’t get a very true story. I was left wanting more.

Wicked Secret was amazing! I love how Bennett manages to keep the plot and the character at the forefront even when she’s writing erotica! There’s a lot of suspense, and also a second chance at love, so it ticked all the boxes for me.
Written in dual point of view, we get both Leighton and August’s inner thoughts, and it’s easy to learn what makes them tick.
There’s a lot of mingling with Jameson Security in this installment, but it can still be read as a stand alone.
If you enjoy hot, fast stories with action and danger, Wicked Secret is a book you should pick up!

Wow. This is one of the strangest most frustrating books I’ve ever read.
It’s a secret baby/ pregnancy trope. Leighton had no choice other than go into witness protection. There were too many extenuating circumstances to contact her ex boyfriend that she had to leave all of a sudden August.
The hero, August is literally a jerk scumbag the entire book. He constantly insulted the heroine and blamed her continuously for keeping his son away when it wasn’t her fault at all.
But the annoying thing is, she actually agrees and takes blame. What?! I was just reeling the entire time. This was so weird.
The plot was all over the place and they didn’t have any connection. I’m not sure if this book was rushed? The hero has no inner monologue where he even liked her and at the end even she asked him “where did this come from all of a sudden?”
I don’t understand why book was written this way. The hero was crazy mean to the heroine on so many toxic levels. He emotionally abused her. This book and the way he verbally abused her makes me low key sick to my stomach.

Wicked Horse Vegas is back, and it’s sexier than ever. Second chance romance with a bit of a twist. Although this is book 7 in the Wicked Horse Vegas series, it could quite easily have been the next Jameson Force Security book, because August Greenfield, as well as being a regular at the Wicked Horse, is also part of the Jameson team. A crossover of sorts that fed my love of both of these series’s, I loved that we got some snippets from them both. August has never forgotten his first love, she basically upped and left one day. No looking back, no anything. Poof. Gone. Ten years later she seeks him out and completely blows his world apart. The question is. Can August put the past behind him and forgive and forget? A little action, a lot of kink, and a completely addictive read. As usual, wonderful characters, I totally adored Sam, he completely blew me away and stole the show. Like all this series, Wicked Secret can easily be read as a standalone, but as always, reading from the beginning is recommended to gain maximum benefit. I received an advanced copy of this book. This is my honest review.

This is August Greenfield and Leighton Hale’s story and is the seventh book in the Wicked Horse Vegas series. It was smoking hot, deliciously naughty and romantic; l was captivated from the first to the last chapter.
This is a second chance at love story that ticked the boxes for me. This book was well written, emotional and at times stressful as August and Leighton come to terms with the past and fight for the happily ever after they so richly deserved. I really loved the “realness” of the characters and was totally invested in their journey.
Wicked Secret has all the heat and passion that we have come to expect from this series as well as deep emotions that really force both August and Leighton to look deep into themselves to seek their own truths. The chemistry between them is intense and I loved how strong Leighton is.
Can August forgive the hurts and betrayal of the past and in doing so open himself up to another chance with the only women he has ever loved?

August Greenfield is living the life -- he's got a great job and goes to the Wicked Horse Las Vegas whenever he wants. He's not looking for a relationship, especially after his childhood sweetheart disappeared without a trace years ago.
When his teenage love shows up at his doorstep asking for help, He's got all sorts of emotions to work through. He's angry with Leighton for disappearing on him, and he's worried that she's really in trouble and needs his protection. And then she blows his mind with one more secret from the past that has him reeling. Let's just say that August has a lot of time to make up for and lots to resolve in his own mind.
I did find the first part of this book a bit depressing and predictable. It takes some time for August to learn to trust and forgive Leighton, which was reasonable to expect, but it did take the escapism out of this story and replaced it with a big old pile of realism. I was happy to see the book take an upturn in the middle. The Wicked Horse does get some page time later in the book as August and Leighton work on their relationship.
Overall, the erotic romance part of this book helped to balance out the not-so-fun parts, but this was not my favorite in the series. There are some hot scenes at the Wicked Horse that helped to keep things interesting in the face of some of the almost-dire situations they had to deal with.

It was so good being back in the Wicked Horse world again, but I have to be honest and say this one was not my favorite.
I really didn’t like August. I never really warmed up to his character and I found his behavior off putting. It’s hard to explain without spoiling anything.
I did on the other hand love Leighton. I thought she was an amazing female character. She was strong, independent and fierce and would do anything for the ones she loved.
I also loved how this story kind of was a crossover of her Wicked Horse Vegas series and her Jameson Security series. So we get the hot an steamy Wicked Horse aspect but also the suspense and mystery of the Jameson Security.
Wicked Secret is the 7th book in the Wicked Horse Vegas series and is a complete stand-alone novel. This is a second chance romance . It is told in dual POV. I thought the flow and pace of the story worked well. I will say that some of the steamy scenes will take some readers out of their comfort zones. I will also say...have a fan and water with you when you read this book...those steamy scenes will have you melting ;)
I would recommend this book to all fans of this series. I thought it was a good addition, I just wish I would’ve connected with August more because then I think this book would’ve been a 5 star read.
