The Bad Guys v13

The gang has split up into teams A and B. One is in search of the others and one in search of, well I’m not telling. You have to read the book!

I still like these. My son (7) & I both enjoy them but... but I personally feel like they are getting dragged out. The butt hands references are hilarious, and the bad guys are cool. But, there's just something about Wonder Fox's power that I need more explanation about. It's just so convenient. I want to know more about it. Maybe it was explained in the previous book but it's been so long since we read it. And this book thrusts you in without any kind of refresher. It would be nice to have a summary of the previous book(s) happenings to bring you up to speed like some series do.

Literally so rude to have a book start in the way this did and end the book the way this did. I'm saying this book was rude. Poor Mr. Snake, the emotional center of this series, guy think he's going to help our pals by turning them evil, but as Mr. Wolf says, he'd rather die good than live bad. My achey breaky heart. I hope both our A and B plots stay interesting, we have SO MANY new friends now it's getting almost out of hand. Buck Thunders hasn't sold me yet, he'll have to work hard to convince me he isn't one of Dread Overlord Splaarghons cronies.

Making their way into the Multiverse, the gang must make their way first through a mountain of glass shards while getting some splinters. As for their friends, they make their way to space and with help from an unexpected new ally, go to a giant butt-shaped planet. When Wolf and company finally catch up to Snake, it becomes an emotional task to save their friend while making a second multiverse trip. A (100%/Outstanding)

Was in a book rut and this is the perfect series to get back into reading. The author makes it a quick read and now being further into the series - there’s some good continuation.

Though I do think you should read these in order. Which makes it a little hard if you don’t own, and you borrow from library or friends.

I literally laugh like a seven-year-old every time a new book in The Bad Guys series releases. “Butt guy!”

In bad guys the good guys club splits into teams A&B. One of the team searches for the others and the other one searches for… well, Read and tell me what happened!

Meh. It just wasn't as fun, funny, or engaging as the others. The butt jokes are getting old (for me). All the powers, etc. are ramping up each time but there is such a gap between the books coming out and no refresher at all that I spend half the book trying to remember what is going on. There are so many characters now and that doesn't help with knowing what is happening either. Granted, I know I'm not the target demographic but still. With lots of other popular series (Dog Man, Wimpy Kid, etc.), you can get by enough when reading them out of order. This is especially important in the school library when we often don't have the "next" one a kid is looking for on the shelf right then. So they just take whichever one even if it's not next. That's going to be impossible for this series and it makes me not want to purchase more of them ( I currently only have 1-3 of this series because the rest don't have enough positive scholarly reviews for me to purchase. I can get around that by reading the books on my own to make sure they are high quality but I'm not longer sure I can vouch for these).

My daughter has loved these books, but she is heartbroken by the latest installments . I feel like the author is just dragging them on as a cash grab and not because he's actually developing plot or character. At this point, we're not buying any more of them until the series is wrapped up - and only if it's wrapped up in a satisfactory way.

Reading this was purely due to my son. He likes the series and told me about the movie coming out, so I approached it with an open mind. I thought each book might be ok to just jump into, but I was lost from the start. Then I never really got an understanding of what was happening in the story. I have no idea who the Bad Guys are. I just get there were a bunch of strange people grouped together for some unknown purpose and battled sharp pointy things. My son admitted to being a bit confused himself, but in the end, he enjoyed the book, so that's what counted.

I forgot how much anxiety I used to have about shards of broken glass. It stressed me out to see the glass sticking into the dimension-traveling characters for so much of the story, and they were not affected by this to a realistic degree.

On a more general and important note, this installment goes in tons of directions without resolving anything, and it is truly just a stepping stone in the midst of a larger adventure, rather than a story arc to itself. I'm used to these books ending on cliffhangers and being "episodes," but this one feels incomplete and unsatisfying.

Some more wheel spinning. Going through various universes, the cynic in me thinks the planet with day cycling into night every few minutes is to save on artwork. The panels at night are black with some lettering.
Plot is getting stretched thin with piranha becoming an oracle for no reason aside from the plot needing it. The jokes are an improvement, with a poo shop as the perfect disguise. Still off the best ones in the first books.
We end the book pretty much where we started. With our heroes going through a portal and wondering where the hell they are.

My niece read this to me, voices and everything, so I'm counting it as an audiobook.

No star rating, because I could barely follow the story, lol. She hated pausing to show me the pictures. The only other one I've read was book 5, so this was quite a jump. Also, it's not meant for me.

VERY juvenile humor. Tons of fart jokes, poop jokes, aliens with butts for hands. Not my cup of tea.

Just glad she wants to read at all.

Shards of adventure here. If anyone can get through to Snake its Wolf. Teamwork is always a must and it's good to hear (if it's true) that it might go major motion picture. A whole new way to experience our story, cool. Onward to the basement said no-one ever happily, but...I love your imagination.

I just can't get enough of Aaron Blabey! This series is on fire! Every new addition that ways "Now a Motion Picture" I want to scream at it and say.....I want that! But I know it's coming in just like 4 months now. I can wait....maybe. Anyhow, yeah this book was just as amazing as the others and my only complaint is that they're so short. :)

This book was pretty good. I thought it was really funny. When they fall down the ditch is the funniest part because Aaron Blabey used a lot of funny sound words. I also loved the "To Be Continued" at the end. The thing that was not so great about it was that they did not dive into to much detail. But this is why I think this book is pretty good.

My kid meant to buy #1 in the series at the Scholastic Book Fair but accidentally bought #13, so we had no idea what was going on or who the characters were. Animals just going through dimensions, traveling through space in a giant butt. Still, it was enjoyable. Pretty funny, great dialogue.

I hope she learned a lesson about reading a book cover carefully before purchasing.

I think this book is very funny and crazy. There are silly machines like a spaceship that is supposed to be shaped like a hand, but it is shaped like a butt, haha! The characters are funny. For example, Shark tells lots of jokes in the book. If you like to laugh, I think you should read this book because you will really enjoy it.

I read through pg. 59 in chapter 4 and it was pretty good. There are actually so many characters now that I can't keep up. To be honest, I especially love snake and piranha best. I think fans will not be disappointed. Recommended for Grades 3-5.

I thought that this was good, although I think that the author is running out of ideas sometimes he did a good job. I feel that the plot is getting crazy but I think the butt space ship was pretty funny.

Imagine this you in a different dimension where there are spikes nights that are 30 seconds and with a crazy wolf, a butt biting piranha, a shark that will literally eat anything, and a fox in a dream world. I mean, god, this book is crazy.

The sci-fi sage continues as The Bad Guys find themselves in a multi-universe seeking the doorway to complete their mission to stop the overlord, and return back to their own universe. Things aren't looking too good for them in this one.

Neither one of us are happy with Snake’s behavior. At all.

Eliana’s review: “What is wrong with Mr Snake? He shouldn’t have gone through that door. He’s supposed to be a good guy. I do like the BOOOOOOM part, that was my favorite.”

Interesting and entertaining but I miss more of Shark’s disguises, the interactions between Snake & Wolf and a lot of the cute fun parts that the first books had going for them. My son is really enjoying the Oracle parts with Pepe and Papa though (because of all the fart noises!).

Forgot to bring a book to my son’s baseball tournament but a sister on the team let me read her book instead. I ended up having all the kids circle around me as I did all the funny voices. Cute series! (I did have to Google what a word meant because it was Spanish for ‘The Raven’ wtf??)
