First he lied to me.
Then he seduced me.
Now he’s broken me.

I knew him as a boy, but now the boy is back—a hardened criminal.
Big as hell. Blindingly beautiful. Sexy as sin.
Dripping with attitude. Covered in ink.
And carrying a colossal chip on his shoulder.

I want to keep my distance.
Needing to protect myself and my virginity.
He’s awakening parts of me that I never knew were dormant.
Ruining me for any other man.

I should have known that nothing this good would be healthy for me.
He’s a liar. A thief. A convict. A deviant.
I need to walk away from this man who’s breaking me piece by piece.
Only my heart is not cooperating.

Broken By A King is a King Brothers Novel. It is a standalone, full-length, first love romance, with a happily ever after (HEA), steamy sex, lots of swearing, and NO cheating.

Hot Convict!

The following ratings are out of 5:
Narration: 🎧🎧🎧🎧🎧
Romance: 💋💋💋
Heat/Steam: ❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥
Story/Plot: 📙📕📗
World building: 🌎🌏🌍🌏
Character development: 👨🏻👱🏻‍♀️🧔🏻👩🏻

The heroine: Ariana Carter (a.k.a. Tiny) - She is an ER Nurse that lives with her father Nate. Her father has his old friend’s son coming to stay with them when he gets out of prison. Tiny is not too happy about that.

The Hero(es): Michael Barringer (a.k.a. Stone) - Did a stint in prison for Heroin Possession and intent to distribute. He steals the Heroin from drug dealers and dumps it in the river, but he was caught with a large quantity that belonged to this guy named Bucky. Bucky approaches Stone in Prison and tells him that his father and his father’s friend Nate used to work with him. He tells Stone that if he doesn’t pay him back for the Heroin he stole, his life expectancy won’t be long

The Story: Bucky tells Stone to go stay with Nate and find out where Nate hid seven million dollars that he stole from Bucky. He tells Stone that if he can’t find the money, Stone is supposed to make Ariana fall in love with him then break her heart.

However, when Stone agrees to Bucky’s plan he doesn’t feel bad about what he is going to do to them. He grew up in foster care until his Dad, Jack adopted him and when Jack died Stone was only eighteen and couldn’t afford to keep the house and partially blames Nate for not being there for him.

Ariana is a virgin and Stone is the big bad boy who was in prison for five years so there is a ton of sexual tension and a few very steamy scenes. The book itself wasn’t long, but I liked the end and I would like to read more from the series.

The narration was good. I thought both the male and female narrator had perfect voices for Stone and Tiny. The only thing I really didn’t like was that Ariana was a “Curvy” girl. The nickname Tiny was a sarcastic nickname from her high school years because she is the opposite of Tiny. I hate it when books focus on how the heroine is “Chubby” or “Curvy”. I think the weight of the heroine should not be mentioned at all that way readers who like the BBW and “Curvy” girls can picture that in their heads and readers who like to picture a thin girl can picture that.

I almost feel bad that i hadn't remembered Stone's name in the previous instalments of the series. I swear, i was scratching my head during the entire book and wondered just what the link of Stone and Ariana's story had with the King brothers. But have to hand it to Lisa Lang Blakeney - she absolutely knows how to draw you in her book so that no matter what your qualms are, you really will want to keep reading.

It did take me until the end until i remembered the link between the King brothers and Stone. I have to say that it was really well done because i got to understand this man and why he did the things that he did. Why he acts the way that he does and especially, got me to really like him. He's really quite interesting when you get down to it. Smarter than he lets on and more territorial than you'd think he'd be when it comes to Ariana.

As for Ariana - well, that girl can really hold her own. She may seem like a wilting flower because of the way she acts, but dayum - she can really tell the scary convict exactly where to stick it when he gets on her nerves.

I liked this book. It was engaging, it was interesting and it made me want to go back and start this series from the start so that i could get the whole King effect from start to finish. I can't wait to find out what this author will do in the future with her next release!!

This story is amazing, I loved everything about it. The way the characters are tied into each other and into the kings brothers just had me all types of amazed. This story is different then the other the Alpha male was more loving and caring. The way it unfolded right before my eyes had me biting my nails on every page along with sitting on the edge of my chair. I loved Stone and Tiny they just fit really well together, the chemistry was just like magic with them. I felt like it ended on a small cliffy and Now i cant wait to see what is next. Lisa did an outstanding job with this story, totally blew my mind from each page right till the end. I craved more once it was over.

This is the third book in The King Brother Series, and the story of Stone, and Ariana. Stone, and Ariana knew each other as kids, when stone gets released from prison, he comes back into Ariana's life. Stone, and Ariana have an immediate spark, but she knows he's bad news. Will Ariana listen to her heart, or her head when is come to this bad boy? This was an entertaining read, the characters are well written, and have great chemistry. This book was emotional, steamy, dramatic, twisted, and intense.

BROKEN BY A KING is book 3 in The King Brothers series by Lisa Lang Blakeney and it is Stone’s story. Michael /Stone is a soul that’s broken, who falls so hard for his mark- Ariana and he ends up feeling something deep and intense for her. Stone wants to be more than a broken shell of a man for this woman he has fallen deep for . Will Stone use her or will he be her savior? This was one steamy read, with angst, passion, heartbreak, and hot sizzling scenes. I loved the chemistry between Ariana and Stone. I do wish the ending wasn’t as rushed in the sense that we got to see more of how things were between the main characters –like how they were doing months down the road instead of just a few months later. I would like to know how things are. Otherwise, Stone’s story is one awesome romantic suspense read I have been eagerly waiting for that satisfies me and kept me going and hanging on the edge until the very end.

My Rating: 4.6 stars *****

Review For Audiobook

Narrated by: Tracy Marks, Aaron Shedlock
Series: The King Brothers, Book 6
Length: 4 hrs and 19 mins
Unabridged Audiobook
Release date: 01-17-19
Language: English
Publisher: Lisa Lang Blakeney

Stone and Ariana ( Tiny )- their suspenseful, intensely passionate and maddening story is one that I found myself all caught up in!
Known each other since they were kids, Stone has been thrust back into Tiny's life because of her father's sense of loyalty.
Stone is living under their roof after a prison stint to save his hide, but quickly the bond of another lifetime, and a fierce attraction between the convict and the nurse become game changers for all their plans.
Unfortunately, there are people watching... secrets lies, and broken hearts are going to be put on display. Who makes it out the other side of this intact....
Intriguing, FRUSTRATING ( I could not get over how Tiny treated Stone and her Princess attitude ) hot and all alpha male with a side of hella sweet!
This is my second favorite book in the series! I did not want this story to end!
The narration had me right there with the characters, on my own King Vacation!
Well worth the time and money! This one will be going on my listen again list!

Book 3 - there I go picking up a series in the middle (again). This one sees Stone - the ‘convict’ who has been released from jail with an ultimatum. Pay his adoptive father’s friend the $7 million he owes him after stealing his shipment of heroin, lose his life, or ‘break’ the daughter (Ariana also known as Tiny) of the adoptive father’s friend (there was a vendetta between the three friends). Stone ingratiates himself into Ariana’s life and they become intimate. The question is whether Ariana will be able to forgive him for hurting her.

This book laid lots of ground work for the romance to blossom between stoic (but surprisingly bright) Stone and good girl Ariana. It’s a sunshine and grump trope that works well and is believable. There’s some incidents that leave the reader wondering (a break in) about who is behind it and some relationships that could do with exploiting a little more deeply. Stone is possessive and overbearing - but painted as a modern day Robin Hood, but it’s a massive stretch and hit quite convincing. Ariana is a loner and I wish she had more female friendships so she doesn’t seem so isolated in this relationship.

I’m not sure how many books are after this one. I picked this one up free on Amazon.

This has got to be my favorite of the King Series, Stone and Ariana story is a real Cinderella tale. Although there is nothing soft about Stone ! His life spiraled out of control when he lost Jack and ended up doing time. He was the quiet and broody type of guy but he is just as Alpha when he needed to be. Being released from prison didn't really give him the freedom he expected, Jacks friend Nate has taken him in, Nate's daughter is not quite how Stone remembers her, she is no longer the little girl he used to babysit, in place was this woman who he needs to stay away from before he breaks her. Stone needs to repay his debt , he has 2 choices, steal the money to repay this or break the girl he is falling in love with and risk loosing everything !

Loved Stone and Ariana , their chemistry was instant. Ariana loved to hate stone , he wasnt making it easy for her to like him although he was slowly making his way into her heart just as much as she was worming her way into his ! This is a real page turner and the way the story unfolds ! once again another brilliant book from this author.

Broken by a King is the third in the series about the world of the Kings, and it's a great one!

Stone's sins have finally come home bite him in the ass. When the man from whom he stole $7 million in heroin tells him he either gets that money for him, by a very specific way, or he dies, Stone knows he has to do it. He doesn't expect to fall in love with his mark, Ariana, (Tiny), nor does he really want to break her as he's been instructed, but it's either that or he dies. What will Stone do? And will Ariana really fall for the bad boy?

Broken by a King seems to have a tenuous connection to the rest of the King world, and it wasn't until the end when it's revealed who Stone is to them, but it's still a great story, full of steamy passion and suspense and intrigue. I'm hoping there's more to come for Stone and Tiny and the rest of the Kings, because this series has only gotten better with each release.

Stone is the lost King brother, and this is his story. He just got out of prison, and since he has no family that he knows about, he ends up staying with his father's friend. That friend has a daughter, Ariana aka Tiny, that he knows he's no good for, but he can't stay away from either. And that's all that I'm saying about that. There's so much more going on with this fast paced read, but I don't want any spoiler douchery in my review so I'm keeping it brief. Stone & Tiny are sizzling with their chemistry which didn't take long to ignite into sexy time that set the sheets on fire. There's plenty of drama with the cast of secondaries involved, not to mention twists that came out of left field, so my f-bombs were dropping like crazy, and quite a bit of angst was present, but can't tell you why without giving things away. My one complaint was no meeting between Stone & his King brothers. So, anyway, hope there's more of this amazing series in the future, and I HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND Broken By A King to ALL!

This story is fast paced, entertaining and intriguing. The like/hate relationship evolves quickly, hot and intense. Michael “Stone “ Barringer is a brooding, broken, hardened criminal, who was serving a 5 yr sentencing at While Pine Penitentiary. While he was serving time, he received a visit from one of his father ex-partners and friend Silas “Bucky” with an ultimatum to perform an act after his release from prison. A threat to repay the 7 millions he stolen from him or be killed. Will Stone go through with the ultimatum? Can he keep his feelings for Ariana out of his mission? How will he handle the new information about his lost family? The answer and more of the story will be revealed and the story should be read. It’s an awesome storyline. I’m looking forward to reading the next book in the King series.

Felon Michael Barringer, Stone, is given a choice, repay drug dealer Silas Buckshot Porter by stealing $7 million from his adoptive dad Jack's best friend Nathan Carter, make Nate's daughter fall in love with him then break her, or death. ER nurse Ariana Carter, Tiny, has bad judgement in men ... she's always just friends with the good ones and attracted to the losers. Then family friend Stone comes to stay with Tiny's dad and he looks like every bad boy fantasy she's ever had. When Stone tells Bucky that Nate doesn't have any money, Bucky tells him to move onto Plan B. Stone knows if he made the drop dead gorgeous Ariana fall in love with him, he'd never let her go. What happens when Ariana finds out about Stone's agreement with Bucky?

Lisa Lang Blakeney delivers an angsty, suspenseful and steamy story full of twists and turns for an riveting read. I can't wait to read Promised to a King, Book 4 in The King Brothers series.

It's time for the hidden King's story and his brothers might have had a tough time growing up, but it is nothing compared to Stone's story. This guy has been through some interesting times, but it is it finally his time to find happiness? Also, does the object of his affection, a virgin no less, want him or will she be BROKEN?

This guy might not have grown up with his brothers, but even though he has been put through a lot, he is has the qualities of his brothers that you came to love in the first 2 books. Stone is just like his name, a hard man to figure out, but underneath all of that is an alpha that isn't afraid to fight dirty, but is the innocent Ariana his future? Read this book if you sassy virgins that go for broody alphas even if they are afraid to be BROKEN- 4 stars from me!

PS: Thank you to Lisa Lang Blakeney and Give Me Books PR for allowing me an ARC of the book to read and review honestly.

😍

Read the entire collection of cousins #1 all the way thru to the 3rd King book. They were pretty un-put-downable! I think my favorites were the King series 1& 2 about the brothers King, Camden & Cutter. I especially loved Cutter & Sloan's story. As I read the 3rd King book about Stone, I realized toward the end that there would or should be another part to this to truly satisfy my curiosity about how Stone fits into the King brothers. It did have a Happy for now ending but can't wait for more about Roman, Camden, Cutter & Stone plus the women they love. There was a bonus book at the end of this book called Gunslinger. I liked this one as well, completely unrelated to the other books. A good standalone.

Broken by a King

I was a little confused since the characters seemed somewhat firmiliar but
Couldn’t place why I should know them. What a great introduction to the newest King brother! This is the back story on what happened to the long lost brother Camden and Cutter found out about in Indebted by a King. Stone was Robinhood until he was pinched and sent upstate to serve his time. Who would have thought this stoic and seemingly damaged man would fall for his dad’s best friend’s daughter so easily. Can’t wait for the next book to find out how the first meeting of the Kings boys went and what adventure they will be up to next

King Me!
This is the third book in the King Brother series but can be read as standalone. Known for stealing drugs from drug dealers, Stone is presented with an ultimatum or forfeit his own life. He must produce the seven million dollars their other partner stole or steal something else even more precious – his daughter Ariana’s heart. Piece of cake, right? The story wove in several POVs to create the 3-dimensional character I long for in a story. Sprinkle in some grit and chemistry and you have a winner! Definitely will be grabbing the prior books in the series to learn more about the King Brothers.

A special thanks to Booksprout for providing a free copy of this book to read and leave a voluntarily leave review.

I loved all the deep, dark romantic suspense elements in this book. I loved Stone’s protective alpha personality. I even loved that Ariana’s a feisty little spitfire who stands up for herself. But I was left slightly unsatisfied with the ending. It felt like the book just stopped and I needed more story from it still. Sure, Stone and Ariana had figured out what they were doing and how to move forward. I just wanted answers to some more questions: what happened to the ultimatum and the money? What happened with Bucky and Nate? What happened with the relationship between the King brothers? I would have loved having another couple of chapters to tell me what happened next.
I received a complimentary copy of this book.

Very Enjoyable! I volunteered to read this book for United Indie Book Blog. Broken by a King by Lisa Lang Blakeney is book three in The King Brothers series. But have to hand it to Blakeney, she absolutely knows how to draw you into her books. So that no matter what your qualms are, you really will want to keep reading. Stone is one of the main characters in this book. He is very smart, and interesting. Smarter than he lets on. More territorial than you'd think he'd be when it comes to Ariana. As for Ariana, she can hold own grounds. Ariana loved to hate Stone, he wasn't making it easy for her to like him. Although he was slowly making his way into her heart. Once again another brilliant book from this author. Can't wait to read more from Lisa Lang Blakeney.

Despite being the third book in the King series, this is the first book I've read. So yes, it's a standalone book. There is nothing better than a good bad boy read. Stone is out of prison but in order to stay alive, he needs to steal 7 million dollars from his father's friend. He blends into the family and searchers for the money but is unable to find anything. He works at the man's motorcycle shop and keeps an eye on Ariana, the man's gorgeous daughter. Stone was well written... a moody, protective bad boy who wants the sweet, sexy RN whose house he lives in.

My honest review is for a special copy I voluntarily read.

I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader copy of this book. Yikes! I’ve been waiting patiently for Stone’s book, I was so excited to see how his story was going to blossom and it was so worth the wait and I couldn’t put this down, Lisa had me flipping the pages until I was finished. Michael (Stone) is a broken soul who falls hard for Ariana and is starting to feel something for her and wants to be more than a shell of a man. This story is smoldering hot, steamy and the chemistry is off the charts! Highly recommend this book, this is a must read!

A story that is absolutely not what I expected. It is better. It is well written and the characters likeable and well described. The storyline and plot are nice. The story is steamy, filled with pain, trust issues, passion, hot chemistry, broken souls, attraction, revenge and emotional ups and downs. Unexpected twists. I like it but sometimes it felt rushed for me.
I like it is written in dual POV, which gives the reader both the thoughts and feelings of the main characters. That makes the story even more emotional and captivating. Enjoyable read.

Broken By A King is a well written, intriguing story about Cutter and Camden King's long lost brother Michael (Stone). When Stone and Ariana see each other for the first time since childhood they end out falling for each other. The chemistry between these two is scorching hot. There is a lot going on in this book and you really have to read it to find out how Stone and Ariana were brought together and if they get their HEA. Great characters and a great story. Such a great book! I loved the characters and the story! It's always fun to learn about another member of the King family. Definite alpha male getting what or who they want, yummy! It's also written in a dual point of view which is something that I really like. I do wish there was more interaction with the rest of the family at the end but I'm hoping that means there might be more to come. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced copy of this book.
