Vance Hale has everything. A ridiculous amount of money, an Ivy-league education, and a 1,000-watt smile that can charm the designer dress right off a girl.

He’s also going to have a future that includes me—whether he wants it or not.

I don’t care that he’s trying to reform his playboy ways, or that he made a bet to go 90 days without the touch of a woman. I’ve spent the last decade planning my revenge and I need a partner in crime. This gorgeous, cunning man should do fine.

So, we strike a deal. I’ll help get him across the finish line and he’ll bring me into his world among the Cape Hill elite. Our relationship may be fake, but our chemistry is shockingly real. One innocent kiss and I’m struggling to hold up my end of the bargain.

Wanting him wasn’t part of the plan when everything else I desire is within my grasp. The only problem? Neither of us is any good at resisting temptation.

I absolutely adore the Filthy Rich Americans series, so when I heard that we were getting another book, about Vance, I jumped with excitement! I couldn’t wait to read about the 3rd and final Hale family member. Vance turned out to be SO much sweeter than his brother and father – this book is definitely not as intense or angsty as the previous books in the series. But still, I had a wonderful time reading about his friends to lovers, fake dating romance with Emery.

Vance is the youngest son in the filthy rich Hale family and anything he’s wanted, he’s been given. But thankfully, this doesn’t make him arrogant or full of himself. He’s the most down to earth of his family, which was a really great surprise. He’s sweet and kind, and when his best friend has disappeared and supposedly died, he wants answers. Answers come in the form of Emery, who’s also trying to find this missing friend.

Emery is a fantastic, unique heroine. I LOVED her job – she hacks open safes for a living! She’s also got a hidden talent for pickpocketing. There’s one safe in particular she really wants to get into: the one owned by the awful father of her missing friend. Together, Vance and Emery form a scheme to fake date in order to get into that safe, which might hold all the answers. And along the way, they develop a friendship that evolves into so much more.

I really enjoyed The Temptation. I wouldn’t go into this expecting another read like The Redemption or The Initiation, but it was a great addition to the series and I’m so happy we got Vance’s story.

If you don’t want to be tempted, then don’t tempt me.” Her tone softened. “Don’t make me like you, Vance.”

We’re back in Cape Hill with all its secrets, lies, and corruption, and oh how great it feels to be back. Macalister Hale may have turned over a new leaf in The Redemption, but when one villain falls a new one always rises and in The Temptation the youngest Hale brother deals with new evil as he navigates keeping his past scandals hidden and also goes down an unexpected path to love.

So Vance and Emery are from completely different backgrounds, but have something in common. This common denominator brings them together at the worst time since Vance just swore celibacy for the next 90 days for a bet, and Emery is hard to resist, but they are both exactly who the other person needs to solve some issues they have. I don’t want to give too much away, but these two start fake dating so that Emery can easily be apart of the fancy pants elite of Cape Hill to get some revenge, and Vance needs her skills as an award winning safecracker to keep some secrets hidden. What neither one of them expect is to start having real feelings. YES, it’s a bit cliche, but gawd the tension between these two characters is so so hot. And even though Vance has sworn celibacy they find some creative ways to get things spicy while they keep up their fake/not so fake dating ruse.

Of course there are some side moments with Royce, Marist, Macalister, and Sophia. Vance still has a lot to work out with his father and that is explored some in this story. I honestly LOVE being in Cape Hill and keeping up with the Hale’s. I’m sort of sad that this seems like it will be our last visit to Cape Hill.

All in all The Temptation is sexy and fun, but it also has this layer of suspense that all the books in these series have had. I love that not only do we get to fall in love with the couple, but we also navigate the corrupt world of the elite while solving some mysteries. It’s just a well written and well rounded story. If you haven’t started this series yet, I highly recommend you do.

i just love nikki's books. this definitely wouldn't be for everyone, but boy was it for me.

Nikki Sloane just has a way of continually upping the stakes with each of her works. Emery and Vance have off the charts chemistry from the second they are on the page together. Then, add in the fact that this is a fake dating romance with a badass heroine and I'm already sold.

If you like the other books in the series, you will for sure love this one. Plus, it's a Nikki Sloane book so of course is spicy as hell.

5/5 stars, you highly recommend.

"Because, Emerly, I'm fairly certain you're the definition of temptation."

The Temptation is the 5th book in the series Filthy Rich Americans and this book is Vance Hales story. If you want a book filled with sexual tension, secrets and the fake-dating trope then this book is perfect for you.

This book follows Vance Hale, the son of Macalister Hale and brother of Royce Hale. I have always been intrigued by him and his book was definitely one of my most anticipated reads of this year. Vance made a deal with his friend Jillian to remain celibate for 90 days, and when this friend goes missing he is determined to not break the deal. But in walks Emery, a safecracker, who's is also friends with Jillian. Emery and Vance decide to make a deal, they will fake-date. Vance will help Emery get access so the social scene of Cape Hill and Emery will fake-date Vance so he can survive his celibacy and avoid women. But Vance soon learns that Emery is the biggest temptation, which cause lines to blur and makes things a lot more complicated.

This book was WOW. The sexual tension was through the roof and the spicy scenes were some of the best I've read. The fake-dating trope is one of my favourites and reading Vance and Emery trying to deny the attraction was my absolute favourite. I loved Emery and the fact that she was strong and so confident and can give as good as she gets. She is definitely one of my new favourite book girls. I definitely recommend this book and the whole series! ALSO I love and adore Royce and Vance but OMG their dad Macalister is definitely my FAVOURITE.

"If you don't want to be tempted, then don't tempt me."

The Filthy Rich Americans series was one of my fave reads last year, with The Redemption being in my top 5 best reads all year. This is an intriguing world filled with complex characters and alluring secrets.

Vance has always been interesting to me and I was SO ready to read his story. Basically, Vance and Emery come from two very different backgrounds but they have a friend in common who has gone missing. This brings them together, albeit at a very inconvenient time because Vance is immediately attracted to Emery, yet he has just taken a vow of celibacy for 90 days.

Luckily it has a few loopholes...

31601949

This is a fake dating trope and a bit of a slow burn with a very Ocean’s 11 feel to it. Emery is an expert safe cracker with secrets and answers to find, while Vance is tired of coloring within the lines. Something I love about this series is the air of mystery and suspense woven into the story. Vance's past is coming back to bite him, and there is blackmail, and a heist on the horizon.

I love spending time in Cape Hill. While this story focuses primarily on Vance and Emery, we do get to see some other things tied up, particularly Vance and Macalister and where their relationship left off.

Despite the no-sex promise Vance made, there are some very sexy moments...i.e. the shower scene in Monaco...with some mutual self...um, pleasure? This forbidden element just added another layer of sexy and I was here for it.

If this was the last we are going to see of this series, then I REALLY wish there would have been an epilogue. But I guess we'll just have to wait and see, and fingers crossed that it isn't!

If you haven't read this series yet, I highly recommend it. It is definitely some of this author's best work!

"You and me... already feels more real than anything else I've had."

*Thank you to the Author and Valentine PR for an ARC of this title.*

This is one of my most anticipated reads of the second half of 2021 and I was just so excited to get my hands on it. Nikki Sloane is among my favorite dark and steamy romance writers and she always manages to bring such heart into each of her stories as well.

The characters in this installation to the Filthy Rich Americans is Vane Hale, the last single remaining Hale male and Emery… a safe-cracking, clever woman with a plan for revenge. A revenge that she needs Vance's help to secure.

Through a perceived tragedy involving a mutual friend, they are thrust together and when they discover they both have need of each other in some way, they agree to fake date. Only, its pretty clear from the beginning that they are both into each other, and they probably would be physical right away except… Vance is taking on 90 days of celibacy in honor of a bet he made to a fallen friend.

Emery needs access to Vance's richy rich friends and Vance needs a fake girlfriend to keep the women away from him for a bit. And they just may have more to connect on then they expected when certain intimacies are off the table. It may just surprise them how close you can get when you actually talk to your partner. And believe me… they still find some delightful and creative ways to scratch their mutual itches.

What I liked: Honestly, I really loved Vance. I know that sounds so simple, but I just didn’t know what to think of him based on his past indiscretions and what we see of him in other books in the series. He isn't necessarily trying to atone for who he was before, but he is looking to make some better choices going forward and I loved seeing him slowly realizing the life he wants in the future. I loved seeing him during his time of restraint and how he learned to connect with Emery in a way he never had with a woman before. Even though they were both VERY attracted to each other, they had other ways to show affection and connected on a deeper level. Emery was also so amazing. Her talents are so unique and I loved how she was going about her revenge plan.

What I didn't like: The main thing that was different for me was that this book had such a different tone than the others in the series. It was a lot lighter in my opinion, and not as angsty as I was used to. This is not necessarily a bad thing, but it was a bit off putting when I was expecting a bit more grit.

All in all though, I really did love this book. I am glad to have closure about certain things and seeing the family go through changes for the better was so great. Honestly, I love just about anything Nikki Sloane writes.

5/5 stars.

Macalister Hale once again makes his sons look like complete betas.

Vance and Royce are SUCH boring rich kids and sadly I think Vance is even more so than Royce which is saying something because remember how Royce doesn't even know how to drive a car? At least Vance I guess knows how to drive a boat.

I almost DNF this book at 40%, it was too insta lust, no chemistry, no sexual tension. I love me a fake dating trope but this one was so lacklustre and really wasn't even fake because they were both obsessed with each other from the first moment they meet and pretty much just are dating. I had to read through a really boring trip to Monaco where it was just about how excited Emery was by all the rich things rich people do... shopping, F1, cocktail parties, rich people. It was so boring.

It did pick up steam (no not THAT kind of steam, the actual story kind) at around the 55-60% mark and I was a bit more interested in the secrets they were set to uncover but the romance part of the story was a huge let down.

The hot AF sex that has been present in all of these books was missing and the 1 and only time they do have sex it was so cheesy and boring.

Enter Macalister who basically does what he does best, play everyone like chess pieces and I was once again reminded that no other Hale compares to him because yes he's flawed and has done awful things but that is what makes him so damn interesting!

Also nothing more was ever mentioned after Vance won the "no sex for 3 months" bet... it was just completely forgotten?!?! Like I had to suffer through that cock blocking bet and then it was just not mentioned by the person who instigated it. Also I hate the "no sex" bet as a plot device! it's so silly.

This review may contain spoilers, so fair warning, upon reading the review.

Introduction
The Temptation is a story that features a romance that definitely blew me away because it was the last thing that I expectation but I was so engaged by this story and didn't even notice the time flying by while I was reading it, which always make for the best reads right? I absolutely adored every single moment that we get with this couple and going into this series and picking up the finale I was really expecting something crazy and bananas and honestly it was sweet and endearing ...like what? Nikki Sloane just keeps giving us books that we don't expect to find from her. But it was just as delightful as the previous books in the series even if it was a bit different.

The Main Protagonists
The Hero: Vance Hale
The youngest son of the Billionaire, has always had wealth and fortunes and a bit of a playboy. But he has always yearned for something more with a woman and has been the son that has been second guessed but also is tortured with mistakes of the past involving his family.

The Heroine: Emery
Is a clever young woman who has had to make it by the skin of her teeth. She was once a pick pocket, but now handles safe's as a professional but is also on the road to revenge for damages done against her family.

Summary
Vance Hale makes a best with his best friend and a woman he used to be involved with that he can't go without intercourse (sex) for 3 months and he agrees to the bet but then she suddenly disappears and then enters Emery, who is the one that repairs his security system and instant chemistry builds between them. And Vance and Emery decide to do a fake relationship while working with each other for other advantages but beneath the surface a strong friendship forms between them. As they start working together for their interest, a deep strong love forms when they least expect it and they embrace what they have together while working as a team to take down an enemy that threatens everything they hold dear...

My Outlook
I had so much fun with Temptation. In fact, its probably one of the most sweetest stories ever done. I really enjoyed the mix of tropes that we find within this story as well. But also this friends to lovers that forms between Vance and Emery, my heart just easily got so swept away by these two. I just couldn't seem to get enough of them and what they have together. And they are both such clever individuals that tend to get overlooked by those around them. I absolutely adored how well they click together. And the heroine especially was so likeable. I loved her cleverness and her determination and how cunning she is without being ruthless. She is such a great partner for Vance and fits the family just right even though at first glance she wouldn't appear to. And the fact that she was a pick pocket and can crack safes??? I thought that was the neatest thing in the world. I don't think I have ever read a heroine that does this profession so it was so interesting. And the plot was just perfection on this one. It just evenly flowed and the pieces fell into place when they were meant to and the author really balances it with some solid humor that fit so well while also maintaining the classy vibe to the story.

Overall View
The Temptation is a sensual, full of class, with some laugh out loud moments that will engage the reader from beginning to end capitalizing on this sweet romance that delivers on all fronts!

I’m a huge fan of this series and this book is such a great addition to the world!

Here’s what I enjoyed:
The fake relationship trope is my jam.
There was nice banter.
I loved catching up with the previous couples. I’m not ashamed to say that I loved McAllister. ♥️ Excellent chemistry.
A hint of a mystery to open kept me hooked throughout.

Highly recommended for fans of the series.

Did I start and finish an entire book series in 24 hours? Yes. Yes. I read 6 whole books and devoured them. This one was defintely the lightest of the bunch in sense of themes and characters but still enjoyable because the mouth on that man. Solid series. 4 stars for most of the books and definitely a world you can’t help but fall into

This story follows Vance & Emery who have come together over the disappearance of their mutual friend Jillian. In addition to Jillian’s disappearance her father is blackmailing Vance and Emery has her own reasons for wanting to take him down. She needs into the inner circle and so they decide dating each other will help both of their agendas.

Before Jillian disappeared she made a deal with Vance to go 90 days without sex😉 He fully intends to keep that promise. So you can just imagine how creative and descriptive these two got for 90 days….Fake dating + no actual sex + one bed trope + a man who loves to EAT?! Can this be my entire review? Is that enough to convince you? I think it is but I’ll carry on. This book was so tender, sexy, funny, intense & swoony OH MY GOD I WAS GIGGLING

Vance? I was obviously intrigued by him from the first books I mean he was fucking his fathers wife & I like em a little ✨destructive✨ so I was very excited for this book. He is very much his fathers son he has the cold, intimidating demeanor but he’s also very kind, charismatic and charming. Emery has worked her ass off to get to where she is and she did it all alone because both of her parents are gone. The relationship that formed between Him & Emery was so genuine because while yes they were fake dating they still had to get to know each other and they were both attracted to one another the sexual tension between these two was so fucking HOT. They both taught each other so much about friendship, trust and love it was so beautiful to witness.

I loved everything about this book even the goddamn conflict had me giddy with excitement! I honestly would not change a thing about their story. I just wished it was longer and we got more time with them in the dating phase.

Nikki Sloane is one of my favorite authors and she has never failed me. If I haven’t ever recommended one of her books/series to take this as your recommendation. Read this rn but of course read it in order we don’t skip books in a series here okay..

I received this arc for an honest review all thoughts and opinions are my own. Thank you to Nikki Sloane & Valentine PR🖤

Exciting story starring Vance Hale, the younger Hale son and Emery, the genius (coincidentally sexy) safe cracker who has a secret vendetta against a common enemy.

Pretty good plot twists throughout the book, but lacked the intensity and angst I loved in the first three books. Seriously steamy scene while Emery cracks a safe in Vance’s library. That is all, folks.

Not gonna lie, I’m a little wow’d right now and a whole lot turned on!

This story was amazeballs.

Okay, so I don’t read blurbs, especially from authors that are a guarantee #oneclick. Nikki is one of those authors. I read this one though and don’t ask me why, because *shrug*, but I did. Do you know what happened? I made me giddy!! I was all up in my inner giddiness! I could not wait for this to land on my kindle! When it did, I was a hermit for two nights straight soaking it in! It was glorious!

This story and the one before it is a bit different than the trilogy that started it all. The first three books of this *family* are one giant twisted #fuckery after another. When I think back to my reading experience with this series, I seriously laugh out loud because it was such a crazy ride that it bordered on the unreal. Vance and Emery’s journey wasn’t so much about the wow factor and more about them as people. I’ve been on this ride since the beginning, so I already knew Vance but not really. This was his moment to shine and shine he did. Epically.

There’s not a whole lot about the story that I can tell you other than what’s already in the blurb because their journey isn’t just about the two of them and the romance. OH NO, there’s a lot more. There’s a mystery plot point that surrounds the story and it will twist in ways you might see coming some of the times and others not so much. Nikki is a master with the twisty. I love her because she balances the sexy and the twisty ridiculously well and no matter how far to the left or right a story goes, she always brings it to center and full circle by the end. She’s amazing. Vance and Emery are amazing. You’ll be amazed once you read their story as well. I promise! :)

𝐓𝐫𝐨𝐩𝐞𝐬: adult romance, fake dating, lots of tension, billionaire hero and steamy read

💭

Holy hell! Nikki knows how to write her romance books with all the smut I like and this was no exception!!

This book follows Vance Hale's story, Macalister's younger son, and as I expected he is a total gentleman. The story starts with a bet he did with his friend about not having s3x for a period of time, which at first it's easy. But then all his resolve crumbles down when he meets Emery.

Due to circumstances, they have to pretend they are dating to fulfill their goals, yet again their s3xual tension and new feels, makes them question if it's all an act or if it's real.

I really enjoyed all the tension they have and how they kept tempting each other thru the book. I love how slowly they became friends and how Vance never doubted Emery's intentions besides all. As for Emery, I really love how she fought for her feelings and acted on them (we love to see a woman going straight to her goal). Plus the plot twists were pretty unexpected 👀

It was also cool to see the other members of the family back again, specially Macalister and Sophia, and see them solve their past problems and move on to a better future.

Honestly, If you are looking for a safe romance including a billionaire hero, a sassy heroine and all the s3xual tension, you MUST read the temptation!!

_____________
Ever since binging previous four books set in this world I have been obsessed with it. I was so happy to dive back into it. The read was interesting and very steamy, but unlike previous books it’s not as dark. The tone has shifted and I personally found it lighter. Though a slower burn book, I think it flowed nicely and Nikki wrapped up the story well.

Book 5 here follows Royce’s younger brother Vance and Emery as his love interest. They had a gray chemistry through out the story, but because we’ve known Vance from all previous books I connected a lot more to him vs Emery, as she’s new to us. As with all Nikki books you can expect lots of secrets and some suspense as it all comes together.
I am a sucker for fake dating trope, so I was eating it all up while they try to hide that they are totally into each other.

It should not come as a shock that moments involving Macalister aka MacDaddy were highlights for me because he’s still main bae for me 🥵 I just feel like he was so much of a bigger character in all of the books that I just can’t move on.

I'm not typically a fan of fake relationship tropes, but I enjoyed this one. THE TEMPTATION has a mixture of insta-attraction, slow-burn, and friends to lovers which make it fun to read. Vance Hale and Emery Mendenhall had off the charts chemistry. You could definitely feel it sizzle on the page during their more intimate scenes. The delayed gratification aspect to this storyline really helped push that steam to the boiling point.

Vance Hale, the youngest Hale son, was a character that I've been intrigued with since he was introduced in the first books in this series and to say I was dying for his story would be an understatement. I was very anxious to know who HE was as a character and to see the woman that steals his heart and how she was able to accomplish that. Nikki really nailed the push and pull between these two.

I have to say, the only reason I am giving this book 4 stars, is I was expecting more of a taboo and/or forbidden storyline. That type of element within the story seems to be the driving force of this series and I expected that to continue with this book. This series is fueled by a strong stance of winning at all costs and I felt like this story was but a fraction of the previous four books in that regard. But even with that being said, it was still very much enjoyable, just not 100% what I expected. This story still went in a unique and interesting direction, albeit it was on the more subdued/less angsty side, but still addictive nonetheless. The storyline really allowed for the series plot to continue and come to a perfect closer IMO. Us readers, and fans of this series, were able to see what the couples from the previous four books have been up to and how they are now. I LOVED seeing Marist and Royce, Macalister and Sophia. It made me all giddy reading about them again.

Even though fake relationship tropes have been done time and time again in the romance world, Nikki Sloane made this story her own. It was undeniably steamy and intriguing.

The Temptation is book 5 in the Filthy Rich Americans series. I binged the first 4 books at the beginning of the year and was so excited to get an e-ARC of book 5, Vance’s story.

Vance Hale is the 27-year-old son of Macalister Hale, and brother to Royce Hale. I was definitely always intrigued by Vance’s appearances in the rest of the series and couldn’t wait to see where his story went. The Hale family lives in Cape Hill amongst fellow super rich families where power, secrets, revenge, backstabbing, affairs, business deals, and lots & lots of money run rampant. The story kicks off with Vance making a bet with his friend that he can remain celibate for 90 days, cut to a few days later and that friend has gone missing/is presumed dead. So now more than anything, Vance wants to honor their last conversation and still win the bet.

With the loss of their missing mutual friend, Vance ends up crossing paths with Emery, who is a safecracker (as in she is hired to come in and legally break into safes for companies or individuals). Emery and Vance are both attracted to one another from the start but because of his celibacy bet he doesn’t want the temptation of Emery anywhere near him. But Emery needs Vance’s help, she wants to be brought into his world and have access to the social world he’s apart of…specifically to get access to a particular man’s safe. Emery offers up the idea of fake dating to Vance, to use him to conduct her own revenge/access the safe of someone he moves in the same circles as and she’ll help Vance keep ladies at bay while he’s being celibate.

If you’ve read the first books then you know how taboo and bonkers those are, in all the delicious best ways. So I did go into this book expecting taboo again and was actually surprised (slightly let down) by how tame this romance/book is. That said, I do love a fake dating trope and enjoyed the setup. The fake dating does quickly become a real relationship but I loved the added element of angst Vance’s celibacy bet created for his and Emery’s physical relationship. They travel to Monaco together for the Grand Prix and there was lots of sharing 1-bed. I thought Emery’s safecracking skills were fun to see play out. I also enjoyed seeing the rest of the Hale family in here and seeing how they’re all coping/moving forward from events of the earlier books. While this book felt very different than the rest of the series, I did enjoy the romance and Vance & Emery as characters.

3.5/rounded to 4 stars. Thank you to Valentine PR and the author for an e-ARC in exchange for my honest review. The Temptation is out October 19, 2021.

The fifth entry in the Filthy Rich Americans series features Vance Hale, the younger brother and son to Royce and Macalister Hale, respectively (aka the leads in the first four books). There's a pretty twisted history to explore and this book gave a new twist to the overarching storyline of the really rich being really messed up emotionally lol. I know I really liked it, so let's suss out the reasons why.

In the interests of keeping this review completely spoiler-free, I won't be divulging any details beyond what's in the blurb - basically, Vance finds himself in a situation where he needs a fake girlfriend, and the heroine is a woman with a plan that requires Vance Hale. One thing leads to another, and yep romance happens.

Now, I began the Filthy Rich Americans series because it had a serious amount of WTF-ery going on and the original trilogy had trainwreck elements that kept me riveted, even when I knew I should probably look away. But it kept me turning that page, so kudos to Ms. Sloane. What I really love about the last couple of books is that, while there's still drama to be had, it really delves into the fallout from that original WTFery. It acknowledges the marks that kind of thing left on these characters' lives and continues to deal with repercussions, and I appreciate that. Vance was a peripheral character initially, and I really enjoyed getting to understand his thinking and Ms. Sloane managed to shine a light on him, while allowing me to root for him to get his HEA. The heroine's a perfect fit for this story, and her story is a fascinating one to see unfold.

There's a series of twists and turns, some fairly obvious, but I liked that this onion had some layers to peel back, and by the end, it was giving me almost Mission Impossible-like vibes. It was different, but at its core I was still getting good emotional scenes mixed with some fire-hot sexual tension.

All in all, I'd recommend this - definitely if you're a series fan, and even if this is your first time here. I think if this is the first book you picked up, you could read it as a standalone, as Ms. Sloane provides the tools you need to understand how Vance got to this point in his life. However, if you're in the mood from some WTF-ery, start from the beginning. I think (or at least hope) you'll enjoy this crazy train as much as I did.

The Temptation was one of my highly anticipated reads of the year. It’s the fifth book in the Filthy Rich Americans series and follows the youngest Hale family member, Vance.

Tropes:
Fake dating
Billionaire romance
Competence porn
Only one bed
Revenge

Going into this book I knew very little about Vance. Even though he was never absent in the previous books -I mean we did get a huge reveal- we never really got a sense of who he was. His character was pretty much a mystery to me. So I loved that he got his own book and that we saw a wide range of his personality; from sexy billionaire to vulnerable son. I enjoyed reading his POV and finally having his HEA. As for his love interest, I’ll keep that spoiler free since it wasn’t completely obvious for me (also not mentioned in the blurb). I was expecting a different heroine -not one person in particular per say but someone older. I mean I was so so so certain Vance was going to be paired with an older heroine just because it would have been so filthy good (I mean we know he liked them older lol)
“I’m fairly certain you’re the definition of temptation.”

I will mention something that most reviewers did too, which is that the Temptation felt very tame in comparison to it’s predecessors. I would describe the first four books as taboo and forbidden, while The Temptation would be more light and fun. Don’t get me wrong it was still very steamy, and had a lot of the sexual tension Nikki Sloane excels at. Even though there was a lot that I loved!! It just didn’t have that extra oomph that I was expecting. I know nothing will ever beat my love for The Redemption so maybe my expectations were too high?

Overall, I did enjoy this book and would most definitely do a reread of the entire series in the future!

On a side note, I absolutely LOVED seeing more of Macalister. He will forever be my favorite Hale character. Here’s hoping Sloane decides to writes some novellas of my favorite couple!!

Thanks to Valentine PR and the author for an e-ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Emery and Vance's romance is a surprisingly fun one. This book brings a whole different tone into play for this series and I really liked that. It felt like a nice breath of fresh air. Don't let this worry you though because all the other things you count on are here: The intriguing complex characters, The skillfully crafted storyline, The simmering chemistry and tension, and The steamy desire. So yeah, this book might be a bit surprising but it does not disappoint! I loved Vance and Emery!! He's swoon worthy and she's fierce. They are irresistible characters that create a real powerhouse, heart stealing couple. The story quickly captured my interest and I found myself trying to sneak in any spare reading moments I could because it is just that good. Taut tension, sizzling sparks, drama, emotion, humor, excitement and twists make for an intense and potent brew that goes down super smooth. All in all an excellent, not to be missed book. Of my own accord I am posting a candid review.

This Temptation was triumphant! 5 stars

The Temptation was a triumphant ending to this author’s Filthy Rich Americans series! (I’m guessing it’s the end, but I have no idea!) I was waiting for Vance’s story, and obviously it did not disappoint! I was intrigued by Emery at the beginning, and by the end she had my love and respect. I loved getting inside Vance’s head and getting to know all sides of him. I know this book was about Vance, but I was moved seeing more of Macalister’s transformation in this book. I was transfixed by Emery and Vance’s love story that had elements of a fake relationship, “a modern Cinderella story and a dash of Ocean’s Eleven and a lot of sexy fun!” I highly recommend this tremendous book and series!

This isn't a must-read but definitely a nice goodbye if you liked the series.
3.75 star. This wasn't as exciting as the previous books in the series because Vance was really a secondary character but it was nice to see him working towards his own happily ever after with a completely new female character. Vance and Emery had a really solid friendship going in and their chemistry was as good and strong as the previous couples'. I liked how refreshing it was to have someone who wasn't part of their world and discovering it through their eyes. The tension between the couple wasn't really necessary and wasn't very short-lived because let's face it, not a lot of things were happening and this book wasn't really necessary.
There was no angst or taboo aspect in this story which didn't make it very interesting but it was also a nice change for these characters. I liked seeing glimpses from the previous couples and I finished the book feeling relieved, content and nostalgic about what all of them went through and confident that they will all be okay.

This book had no right to be this wholesome. 🥺 Didn't realize I needed Vance's story until I read the 5th and final book of the initiation series. Vance Hale lowkey reminded
me of Sean Bell (Sinner). Fake dating, tension galore 🥵Perfect wrap-up to the Hale saga, we even get more of Macalister's redemption (Daddy Mac 4 life). Needless to say, I'm obsessed with this series and it has definitely kickstarted my billionaire era 😈

Must Read for Series Fans / Spoiler Free Review

When I saw that Nikki Sloan was giving us more in the Filthy Rich Americans world, I clicked preorder so fast I may have been number one in the queue. However, I was lucky enough to receive an ARC early to devour, and devour I did! How can you not love a world of steamy hot deceit to fall comfortably back into and within the first chapter being captivated to find out more about this new character, Emery and what plans she has for our little Hale brother, Vance.

I was not expecting a book filled with enough foreplay that it made Daddy Macalister look like he was in prep school and Vance was leading the advanced university class in seduction. The things this man said and did while I turned each eBook page was enough to set the Kindle on fire. Woooooooo! Ms. Sloane beat expectations when she wrote Vance & then raised the stakes when she had Emery match him step for step on the path to the bedroom.

Set as a fake-girlfriend / forced-proximity story what we get a well-written story that relates all the way back to book one – The Initiation – and is brilliantly revealed to also be a heist tale. The little reveals that Ms. Sloane pops in had me doing double takes and making sure I didn’t miss a beat in the breadcrumbs dropped. Fans of “FRA” will not be disappointed, fans of Macalister Hale will be happy to see our devious man reappear. Those who want a strong female lead – you will be ecstatic to meet Emery and will want her to be your BFF by the time the last page turns.

PS – This completely spoiler free review is very hard to write as I cannot wait for you all to see what is in store for this couple!!!!

⭐️ 4 "What Would You Do To Me?" Stars ⭐️
The Filthy Rich Americans Series has been a real delight for me since the first book. Needless to say I was more than intrigued about Vance’s story! The seduction and temptation it promised had me salivating. Nikki Sloane created another highly enticing and provocative romance for the younger Hale man.

"𝒀𝒐𝒖 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒎𝒆... 𝒂𝒍𝒓𝒆𝒂𝒅𝒚 𝒇𝒆𝒆𝒍𝒔 𝒎𝒐𝒓𝒆 𝒓𝒆𝒂𝒍 𝒕𝒉𝒂𝒏 𝒂𝒏𝒚𝒕𝒉𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒆𝒍𝒔𝒆 𝑰'𝒗𝒆 𝒉𝒂𝒅."

Vance and Emery share an intense chemistry from their first meeting that only grows with each days in their fake relationship. They both have something to win from making this alliance, but they gradually develop a lovely friendship that seamlessly turns into so much more than what they bargained for. Vance's three month long celibacy vows is only making their fierce sexual appeal for each other excruciating.

"𝑰 𝒕𝒓𝒊𝒆𝒅 𝒕𝒐 𝒃𝒆𝒕𝒕𝒆𝒓 𝒎𝒚𝒔𝒆𝒍𝒇, 𝒕𝒐 𝒓𝒆𝒔𝒊𝒔𝒕 𝒕𝒆𝒎𝒑𝒕𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏, 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒍𝒐𝒐𝒌 𝒘𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝑰'𝒅 𝒈𝒂𝒊𝒏𝒆𝒅. 𝑰 𝒉𝒂𝒅 𝒕𝒉𝒊𝒔 𝒃𝒆𝒂𝒖𝒕𝒊𝒇𝒖𝒍 𝒘𝒐𝒎𝒂𝒏 𝒏𝒐𝒕 𝒐𝒏𝒍𝒚 𝒂𝒔 𝒂 𝒍𝒐𝒗𝒆𝒓, 𝒃𝒖𝒕 𝒂𝒔 𝒂 𝒑𝒂𝒓𝒕𝒏𝒆𝒓."

This story was a slow burn of seduction with highly romantic moments. The Temptation was really good, although I would have liked to see more of the supporting cast; Macalister, Sofia, Royce and Marist. It was a really nice addition to the series and provided heart, suspense and sensuality!
