I don't often read devotionals, let alone buy one, but the availability of this book came across my Instagram feed on Aug 11. The book was dedicated to Dawn Jackson, a pastor, acquaintance and fellow runner. It was birthed out of hikes the author, Dawn and a group of women took on the trails of Southern California my former stomping ground.

As it turns out the next day I fell and suffered a trimalleolar fracture of my left leg; the same day the book was delivered. I began reading two days later after my release from the hospital and surgery.

The daily 5 minute read for the last 100 days coincided well with my estimated 3 month recovery. There were some definite low days in the beginning and the short reads lifted my spirits and centered my focus on the future and helped strengthen my family daily.

I'd recommend this to anyone going through a rough patch especially something limiting your physical ability. As a nearly daily runner spending weeks immobile on the couch, this book reminded me of a future better days and the hope we have in our Savior, Jesus Christ.

I love Christine Caine’s devotionals, this one was no different, it was fantastic. I wish it was more than a 100 days but each of the days devotionals is impactful in its own way and I took a lot from it.

I came across this devotional book while preparing for a retreat focused on developing spiritual resilience. It was a perfect fit for preparing my heart, and as I used it daily so many of the devotions were perfect for encouraging family and friends who were in the midst of trials. Before finishing it myself, I gifted copies to several friends in then midst of trials because of the content between the covers—but the book itself is perfectly published for gift-giving, too.

Christine Caine is a phenomenal communicator with a deep knowledge of the Word of God. This 100 day devotional was really good and had a bunch of gems that I was able to apply already to sermons and counseling appointments. For those of you that watched Sound of Freedom and are interested in good organizations that are doing work to end child slavery, her and her husband have an organization called A21 that is doing some great work. If you need a short daily devotional for 100 days, I’d for sure recommend this one.

I don’t really like to rate and/or “review” devotions, just because I feel like they are more personal readings, which each reader should hopefully take what they need from reading it and receiving God’s word. That being said, what I will say is that for me, I felt that this was a Scripturally sound devotional, with a lot of personal input from the author.

I really enjoyed this book. It was encouraging and focused on spiritual endurance in times of uncertainty. I especially liked the references to areas of hiking in San Diego that were familiar to me. Her style of writing and use of personal experiences throughout the devotional makes it easy to read and appreciate.

Daily devotions that start with scripture, story and application. About two pages per devotion. I found the author to be sincere and insightful with lots of pointing towards a hope and a future in Jesus.

A source of encouragement and hope

These short devotions were just what I needed in a dry season of my life. While brief they provided just what I needed to start my day with a word of encouragement and hope. I would highly recommend.
