Sharks can do so many cool things! And a girl shark living in the darkest waters of the deep, blue sea knows this. But why can't she capture the attention of the one she "loves?"
In Shark in Love, kids will learn many amazing facts about sharks and at the same time they will come to understand that loving yourself should always come first.
Shark in Love is the second book in the Learn and Love series, a collection of books about misunderstood animals and life skills for children. Want more? Look for the first book in the series, "Bo the Bat," a book about the importance of not prejudging others and about bats!
Best-selling American author Alma Hammond is on a mission to create books that make learning fun for children. What better way to learn valuable educational lessons and receive positive messages of self-esteem and kindness than through captivating characters and stories with vivid illustrations?
Alma lives with her husband Bob and two cats Violet and Daisy in Antibes, France.
This picture book has a big message! While we all want and need friends, it’s important to love ourselves first. The illustrations were colorful and adorable! I give this children’s book a hearty 5 stars!
Alma Hammond does it again. I love her books and this one is so incredibly cute. The message of self acceptance is an important one for kids to understand at an early age. Frankly, we all need to make sure we love ourselves.
The illustrations are terrific. I noticed that the shark has the cutest, longest eyelashes. Check it out and you'll see what I mean. The illustrations simply have all of the fine details that I've come to love in the author's books. I see something new in the illustrations every single time that just make the entire work so darling.
À lovely tale about believing in yourself and self-love
Waw, this is such a great book! And the illustrations are breathtakingly beautiful. Full of color and life.
Shark thinks she is falling in love with a cute shark guy. She does everything to catch his attention. But it doesn't run as she hoped. She finds out that when she stops focussing on him and plays and helps other fish, she feels happy and gets friends.
In this sweet short fairy-tale, Alma Hammonds teaches kids the importance of self-love. I highly recommend it!
What a sweet fish tale about the importance of self-love. People tend to think that self-love means a person (or shark) is self-centered, but in today’s world it simply means that one should take time for themselves so they CAN help others easily. The term “you can’t pour from an empty cup.” Comes to mind. In this book, the shark’s heart was full of love when she helped the fish escape.
One can always find Alma’s books in my home. My children (and I) absolutely love her stories! Shark in Love just so happens to be a new family favorite as it sends such a beautiful message to kids. Okay, okay… I can’t lie—I needed the message, too!
Our little one loves that the shark frees the fish! The illustrations were really nice although the text was a bit small on mobile to read dark on dark.
