When Fuuta comes home tired at night, all he wants to do is spend time with his sister’s cat, Kyuruga. If you’ve ever wondered what it’s like to own a cat, you need to read this adorable manga. It summarizes the journey to becoming a full fledged cat owner and the wacky experiences you’ll find when adopting these adorably fuzzy children. 💕
(gone girl voice) when i think of my cat, i always think of the back of her head. i picture petting her lovely skull, unspooling her brain, trying to get answers. the primal questions of living with a little baby weirdo: what are you thinking? how are you feeling? what have we done to each other?
Such a cute and relatable book!! The illustrations were amazingg and I loved how they kept the japanese writing along with the translation. Overall it was a really fun read!
3.5 rounded up. There's not much to this, but it has such high relatability on the "cats are weird" front that it bumps up easily. Plus I laughed aloud a few times, which is generally a good sign.
Starring hilariously drawn characters with large, owl-like eyes, this manga will amuse and speak to cat lovers of all ages. I liked that the cat was the main focus and it didn’t spend as much time dwelling upon the lives and complaints of the human characters, which is a common trip-up in pet-related comics.
I am going to start off with a small apology. It’s been a really busy time and I have still been reading a ton (like a lot), but I got a little behind on reviews and updates with everything else going on. (So as nearly always), I am working to catch up on my reviews. At the current moment, I am nearly done with another e-book, and on audiobook! Feel free to place below, what you are currently reading and in what medium. But in the meantime, let’s talk about Nights With a Cat, Volume 1.
SPOILERS AHEAD
Fuuta used to live alone but he recently let his sister move in with him. Along with his sister came a pet cat. Now every night when Fuuta arrives home from work, he spends time with the cat in some way. Each night we get to some of Fuuta and the new cat’s adventures. Fuuta, is slowly becoming a great cat owner and a cat lover!
I really loved this manga, I definitely intend to pick up as many volumes as are written. I am a cat mom, and I have had cats pretty much my entire life. So many of Fuuta’s adventures into kind of owning a cat for the first time, were reminiscent of other experiences I had with my own cats. The manga, is kind of separated into each of the nights in which Fuuta spends with the cat and what he learns on those nights, so it goes by so quickly. (If you are not familiar with manga like this, I would say it’s kind of almost like a collection of short stories). This manga is incredibly adorable and I highly recommend (especially if you love cats)!
adored this from start to finish. such a cute slice of life manga about living with a cat and all its wonderful and mysterious quirks. it was so relatable and wholesome, and truly had me smiling a lot :') it just perfectly captured all the little things i love so much about my own cat. highly recommend this for cat lovers!
"...how many hours did i just spend watching this cat?"
For now this was the cutiest manga about cats. I loved every page of it. It felt like reading about every cat I know. Even the part when the cat wants to take a seat on your chest with his but directed to your face. Yes, I'be been there too. Except the part where Fuuta wanted to wash Kyuruga. The only time when I needed to wash my cat, was when he got poisoned. House cat's don't like to be bathed... Cats, they still remain and always will be a mystery.
The perils of learning to live with a new kitty! Learning about its moods and playfulness, its daily routines and where it likes to sleep, to how it likes to destroy things, shed everywhere, sit on whatever you’re doing and shove its butt in your face. And how it looks like a crayfish, obvs. Cats, we love them, right? Yeah, this manga understands that we do.
Discovering the simple pleasures of befriending one of earth’s most mysterious and fascinating creatures. That’s what this book was about and as a cat owner I loved it. It was honest, simple and cute 😊.
extremely adorable and relatable. i wanted something light and this was it. i own two cats and could see so much of them in kyuruga it's crazy. i love love loved it so much! for everyone who needs convincing to get a cat or cat owners yourselves, you won't regret picking this up. ❤️
