The manga-ka is doing a great job of building up the back story of the man who would be Musashi's rival. Both of them had challenging childhoods but despite Kojiro's disability, he's a stark contrast to the "demon-child" Musashi. Kojiro is turning to be a likable guy.
this shit is real. btw that motherfucker fudo looks like the long haired white walker john snow killed at hardhome back in season 5. yeah sorry I have yet to switch my got mode off...
Best fight in the series so far, bar none. Bloody, brutal, and for a cause everyone can get behind - rather than fighting for the sake of fighting, we have a genuine dickweed to bring down.
"I'm not teaching you the sword... I made up my mind when I saw the way you attacked Fudô even after he was already dead...There's a beast inside you...No, even a beast wouldn't do that...Kojiro...I won't allow that madness within you to awaken (...)" Kanemaki sensei addressed to Kojiro.
So we are continuing the Kojima tale and we see his first near kill followed by a change in fortune for himself and his dad . Emotional moments and cool action sequence exist but overall , i am still iffy . Especially considering that it's 10 chapters could easily be compressed into 2 chapters at best . Heck we could have easily compressed it as a flashback monologue.

That Fudo is fucking creepy just like a zombie. I am starting to like Kojiro now.
Kojiro grew up and have desired the training of swords skill by his father who is actually not real father but he has kept denying to teach. That's why Kojiro has learnt the swords skill himself by looking. I'm really looking forward to seeing how strong he is.

This volume was all Kojiro and Jisai, which was another good volume. It was very cool seeing Jisai being driven to tap into his inner swordsman once again and then also seeing Kojiro unleashing a beast like entity on the corpse of Fudo, revealing to Jisai how dangerous Kojiro could be. Jisai has seemingly developed a small fear for what Kojiro could become and he is hopeful he can take necessary action to prevent him from being a full fledged beast. Excited to see more.
kojiro vs tudo is such a crazy introduction to how kojiro is going to build as a character. also i’ve read these past 3 volumes in spanish cause a dude like me can buy the singles & still read them 🥱 i didn’t ask to be born latina 🇲🇽💅🏼 no mas, tube suerte 🥳💃🏼
Oh my fucking god, i want to give these past two volumes a 6/5 cos jesus christ the attachment i feel to this psuedo-family, the struggle of learning how to live without the sword, to live for family, is just told incredibly, and again Inoue's visual storytelling is unmatched.
