3.5 - I liked this second and final book but it just felt like everything was rushed. The romance was a little disappointing as well. I wanted more depth to the current romance between Averly and Brayden. There really wasn't much romance building in this one.
In the end it just seemed like everything was resolved too quickly.
the summary the first book was- amazing (with a cliffhanger) however, the second book really disappointed me as the ending felt a little off the rating 3/5 Like to support <3 Find me on: Instagram: @chevreads Wattpad: @writerthursday Pinterest: @thursdayfrappe Youtube: @chevreads P.S. I enjoyed this book and liked the characters. The ending was just to Disney perfect though. I was already having a problem with the insta-love and then everything was just too perfect and sort of easy. Disappointing but not bad.
I'm sure this isn't your first foray into the imaginative world of author Leia Stone - but if it is 👀👀👀, know that you will have zero regrets! Standalone books have their place, and multi-book series make our fingertips tingle, but with a duology, readers can rest easy that the story won't end too soon, but it will end - so for those who want their pièce de résistance sooner rather than later, duologies were made for you!
The Wolfed series is a love story that transcends time. Brayden, the displaced Greywolf King, and Averly, a young bartender and veterinary school student, are soul mates who are destined to meet every twenty years, marry, live and love - for one year only - before she dies, and it starts all over. Fae Lords took over Brayden's land and his people, imprisoned him and his wife's siblings, stripped his powers, and cursed his soul mate.
However, something went wrong the last time they found one another. The last generation Averly didn't come back twenty years ago (It took forty this time!), and now that Brayden has finally found his mate again, she doesn't remember him! As Averly's clock ticks down to her death date, Braydon is fielding blows from all sides. I'm telling you, there are so many 'what the whats' and 'no way Stone just did that' in Wolfed you will not put these books down for a second! Enjoy!!!
Me entretuvieron, no son mis favoritos de la autora pero tampoco me disgustaron, siento que lo que les jugo en contra es la falta de desarrollo además de que cada libro tiene menos de 300 páginas lo cual hace que todo pase muy rápido.
I kind of wanted more from this sequel and finale, maybe I’m just being greedy but as much as it was a good story and even a great ending I just was left wanting.
Be prepared! The thing about Leia Stone books...are the sleepless nights. She has a writing style that draws you in and doesn't let go until she's sucked your last zap of wakefulness, and you've either finished the book, or your eyes simply refused to remain open. As always, her Wolfed books are no exception, from character building, to content. Thank you Leia for the great adventure, and the sleepless nights.
⭐️ Perfection ⭐️ Through ups and downs, tears and laughter, love and hate, this brilliant installment will take you on an intense ride, where your emotions will be all over the place! 😳😡😭😍🤗🥰 Leia wrapped up this story so perfectly, I swooned all the time at that sweet moments between Averly and Brayden, couldn’t ask for a better ending! 😍❤
I enjoyed this book, and it was my favourite of the series. My very small complaint is that it was so fast paced so everything happened very quickly, whereas I found that book one dragged in a few places. I’m glad that in a way that Brayden and Averly, and Castiel and Leah chose each other, even without knowing if they were each other’s soul mates. Forty years ago Wren tried to break the reincarnation curse placed on Lena by the Fae Lords, but because she really had no idea what she was doing she completely messed it up. Both Lena and Wren were reincarnated and were having memories of both their previous lives so it was a very confusing time for all of them. Both Averly and Leah’s memories ended up like Swiss cheese, and wouldn’t remember their own names within five years, but luckily they found a potions master fae that own Brayden’s family a debt that could help them but they’ll lose all their past memories of their previous lives, but at least they’ll be able to make memories of this one.
I loved that Silas got what he deserved, and all I can say is man Averly is completely bada*se, considering what she could do with very limited training. I found it hilarious how much of a c*ck blocker Everly’s just discovered father Artemis was, as he was trying to protect Averly by making sure that her and Brayden aren’t intimate until they’re married as in the Ether its frowned upon or something along those lines. I loved the memories of their past lives spread throughout the book, but it was also bittersweet realising that they’ll lose those memories, or may never know which one is Lena, and which is Wren but they all decided to choose instead. I thought that this book wrapped up everything nicely, I just wish that it was a bit longer so it wasn’t as fast paced. I’m looking forward to reading more books from Leia in the future. I’d definitely recommend this book, seres and author to everyone.
“Wolfed: Promised To Him” is book 2 and the finale in Leia Stone’s duology Wolfed series. This continues on from wolfed 1, we finally find out which sister is which and so much more. I do feel as though this book was a little rushed to be completed, and I am aware that it was due to not getting much attention with book one. Now having said that we still get a fast paced, action packed, kicka$$ book with so much going on and a on the edge of your seat experience.
Averly gave up herself as proxy but she never intended for Maddy to stand with her. With her birthday approaching and being held captive all Averly wants is to see Brayden one last time. I really feel for Averly not knowing if she was the Lena Reincarnation or Leah would be hard enough when falling for Brayden, but also trying to compare to the once in a life love story that Brayden and Lena had, would cause anyone to be insecure and unsure.
My heart bleed for Brayden, having to live on and have memories of each life he and “Lena” shared, but than to have had to wait 40 years instead of the usual 20, to be meet with not one but two women with snippets of their lives. This is enough to send anyone down the rabbit hole.
Even though this series is a duology we get more than enough character growth and development as well as an engaging, suspensive, swoon worthy read. If you love Ms Stones work as much as I do, you know she loves to have you tearing at your chest with all the unknowns and will they, wont they moments, but in the end she always gives us the ending that we didn’t even know that we needed. So trust the process, sit back and enjoy the ride!
The only song that popped in my head for this book was a barbie song. “If You Love Me For Me” — Barbie in Princess and the Pauper I guess this song could also be for parts of the second book, but I felt it more strongly in this one.
I really liked this book. There was so much drama, spicyness, and suspense, and I was just eating it up. 🥄🔥 I wish we could expore more of the relationships between the brothers and her sisters. The interactions and family bonds. We saw a bit of that with Castiel, but I want more. 🎶
Wolfed: Promised to Him by Leia Stone is the 2nd book in the Wolfed Duet which is complete.
Tropes: ✔️ FM Romance ✔️ Werewolf/ Shifter ✔️ Fated Mates ✔️ YA Adventure/ Mission ✔️ Available on KU
POV: Single First Person 👩 Rating: 6/10 (⭐️⭐️⭐️) No 🌶
All questions comments and concerns that you are left with at the end of book two are answered pretty quickly except for one… which sister is which?? Technically this book takes place a little over a years time… but there are two significant time jumps(insert training montage here) that make it seem like no time has passed. Brayden is like a rock and always says the right things at the right times… he is pretty much perfection. Averly is all over the place emotionally (rightly so considering all the shit that is happening to her in the book). Lots of action, fighting, emotional reveals, with a little misogyny thrown in by Artemis (excuse you very much). I was hoping for a little bit more out of the story but overall still a good duet as a whole!
✨“Of all the times I’ve loved you, I think this version is my favorite.”✨ My circumstances have nearly broken me but Maddy is there to keep me sane. Together we plot a way out of here, we comfort one another on hard days. My twentieth birthday is coming up and I've decided that if I'm going to die anyway, I might as well kill Silas and take that bastard with me. My only wish is that I could see Brayden one last time before I go... 𝘾𝙝𝙚𝙘𝙠 𝙏𝙧𝙞𝙜𝙜𝙚𝙧𝙨
I loved this duology it really pulled on the heart strings at times in a good way. I really enjoyed the fast pace of a duet over a trilogy I hope more authors do them.
SPOILERS AHEAD
When Averly gave herself up as proxy she never intended Maddy to stand with her. Captives at the hands of Silas has worn them both down but the thing weighing heaviest is the the last thing she saw Leah telling Brayden she remembers and then embracing. When her birthday rolls around and she doesn't die it's safe to say that wren or her? Was able to break the curse or interrupt it which ever happened. The only good thing about being a captive is Maddy and her teaching Averly how to use her greywolf powers even if they are only at 10%. With the fight drawing nearer the girls try to come up with a plan so that her powers won't be an advantage to Silas. When she finally comes face to face with Brayden and notices his new ink she realizes he kept his word and that he still chooses her 💖 swoon. Now all they have to do is win the fight, get his powers and their memories back, save his kingdom and take back the throne... easy right? Oh don't u worry there's a lot of truth bombs and hidden secrets along the way 😉😉
Loved it! After the cliffy we were left with at the end of the first book, I was dying to jump straight into this one. I was not disappointed. It started off with Averly and Maddy held prisoner, and didn’t take long to heat up. Very quickly I was completely swept up in the story, and couldn’t stop till the end. The crazy memory mixups between Averly and Leah had my heart squeezed. I really hate the idea of not remembering an entire lifetime of happy memories. Add to that not being sure who you are, and I just wanted to weep for them. It kept me on the edge and wondering. But it also kept me from knowing what to hope for for them both, which was a little discombobulating. (Side note, I wasn’t sure if that was a word, but since my phone predictived it, it must be. Predictived isn’t a word though FYI, Lol) So, as much as I had an ending I was hoping for, I spent most of the book feeling a little mixed up myself, and this had me feeling a bit disconnected from the couples. I have a sneaky suspicion that this was actually intentional, so my (metaphorical) hat is off to Leia Stone, for keeping me on my toes and then still having me feeling all the warm fuzzies in the end. Especially after including some pretty awesome battle scenes and scary monsters. Love those.
This is book 2, and we left book 1 with Averly and Maddy forced to stay with Silas until the next fight.
This book is a much faster pace than book 1, and it fits in so much more action. Averly and Brayden have been separated and neither knows if the other has moved on from their fledgling romance.
I was a little disappointed with the amount of romance, these two didn't know if they were soul mates, but acted like they were once they were reunited, even though they weren't that close to start with. I just feel like we missed out on seeing them actually fall for each other.
What I thought would be a fairly straightforward storyline, became quite complicated as they bounced around from one person to the next trying to solve different problems that came their way. The story is action-packed while they figure out how they can take down the Fae Lords, rescue their siblings, restore Brayden's power and a few other things that drop into their lap.
They do get their HEA and everything is resolved.
- soul mates - actioned packed - duet completed - fade to black
Following the events of book one, Avery and Maddy have been separated from Brayden and are now with Silas. Both of them will be the ones to boost Silas with the pack link magic in the coming fight-to-dead event with Brayden. Avery must quickly learn her abilities and get them in control because if she fails, Brayden will die.
I was particularly excited to read books that incorporated the concept of reincarnation, werewolves, witches, and fae into the story, such as this one, and I was in for a surprise because Leia had managed to weave all these elements together in such a way that it made complete sense and was still intriguing.
It had me guessing the whole way through, and I was happy with how Leia managed to create a satisfying piece of work that comes with a very happily-ever-after ending, which is good because we already have enough tragedy in the real world.
I have only one complaint about this book. The story is too short. I wish this duology extends to a trilogy, or even better if it's six or seven books because I cannot get enough!
Not going to lie, I re-read the first book before opening this one just so it was all fresh and oh lord was it worth it! The author mentioned in a post that she was shorted this series to 2 books because their wasn’t a lot of reception for the first one and am I sad yes, but she did not leave anything. All the characters were given their proper time to develop themselves and their stories. I would have loved if some arcs could have had more to their story but she put just enough time into each that didn’t feel jiped.
I also have a new found appreciation of chocolate ;)
Braden and Averly are a power couple across time and a love that I just crave myself. Both were relatable and I really want to be their friends!
Not going to lie, wasn’t a fan of Leah but she quickly got my love once I read more about her.
Oh my gosh, how more romantic can a story get? Lena & Brayden's story is breathtakingly tragic. However, finding each other every twenty years against all odds is so romantic! Jump ahead in time to Averly & Brayden's story. I totally get why Averly felt insecure I mean trying to compare to Lena's once in a lifetime love story is unthinkable. Brayden's devotion to his wife is truly inspirational. Add to the fact that neither Leah or Averly knew who was Lena & both were falling for Brayden is scandalous. I love that Averly finds her father. I also love his quirkiness! I instantly fell in love with this man. I loved the addition of the witch mother & the way her character changed. I do wish there had some interaction between Averly & Brayden's mother. While we know they all know each other we have no clue as to who she is & how she & Averly get along. I wish there was one more book or a series for Leah & Castiel.
This was soooo much better than the first book. All that really basic instructional info is gone, and we just get story. I only returned to the series because it’s being removed from ku, so figured I better finally get on that. Once the action got going it was quite a rushed story and very fast paced, though it felt like it took a long time developing that Silas was a giant jerk, and not so much on magic or plans to overthrow the bad guys. Those were very slap-dash and there wasn’t much in the way of planning their execution. It’s very much the fairy tale ending, with the #perfectboyfriend and everyone paired off for eternity. Some of it I didn’t like , but there is plenty to enjoy.
I hate to give this author less than a 4. I love Leia Stone and was so excited to start on this book. I've read several of her books and love her style. This book has:
The first book was great with it's unique storyline. I was hooked from the beginning and couldn't wait to dive into this one. This book kept with that potential. It was unique, had several twists and was engagingly fast paced. The book dove right in after Averly and Maddy were captured. I loved the plot behind the book. I just hate that it felt so rushed 😥! I know why that happened but man this book had great possibilities! There's so much that happened in this book that I might've gotten a little lost at times. Overall though, I enjoyed the book and was happy with Brayden and Averly's conclusion.
I had issues with the first one and decided to wait until all the books came out to finish, but it’s just a duology, so I read this. On one hand I’m relieved I finally get to know who she was. On the other, nothing’s really changed and I had to go through all the drama lines to get my answers.
The writing just comes off so young. Girl’s twenty and a bartender but she sounds like she’s lived a completely sheltered life when she’s not shooting people. And she can shoot people in the face but can’t swear? It’s the weird presentation of what’s ok and what’s not that freaks me out when reading. I get that some things are tailored to readers but I really will never understand people who are cool with two shots to the face but not an f bomb.
Otherwise I’m kinda glad she ended up being who she is.
Twisty, twisty fate. We are thrown back into Averly’s hell as she and Maddy are ripped away from Brayden, Leah and the pack. Strength must come from within if she’s to withstand the next year away and to survive the pain that she might not belong to him after all. A battle is coming, one of epic proportions and only a single wolf king will survive. Behind the scenes, Averyly and Maddy must discover how to help Brayden and their wolf pack survive the centennial fight and kill the Fae Lords. Will Averly be the missing piece to help their side finally succeed? Such a rush! We discover the truth about who she really is, her lineage, make new alliances and as we tumble through the pages we fall more in love with this story and these characters. Fantastic job on this series Leia!
I love Leia Stone's stories. The romances are just out of this world, and this series' plot did not disappoint in the respect. However, it was extremely repetitive. The whole "Is she Lena, or isn't she" thing got old real fast, way before this second book. Averly's attraction to Braydon was just so obvious and intense (as werewolf mates typically are) that, after a while, I just found all the characters to be STUPID for not figuring it out a book ago. It was frustrating to see wolves--who are typically immensely in tune with their instincts--fight against what they already knew to be true. But still, great story; I would still recommend reading the series all the way through.
H-Brayden Greywolf h-Everly Silvers - Still is her point of view. Also I forgot to mentioned in the 1st book BUT if you are looking for a book with sexual relations, lovey dovey type of story this is not the one for you BUT with that being said I love this story and you really don't need the extra of the physical connection that sexual relationship brings. This book is definitely a lot faster than the 1st book (which I appreciate it). We get a lot of questions answered and pretty much everything finishes with a nice bow at the end. I really like this story. I think Book 1 was very well written (even though it was repetitive w/the whole I'm Lena or not situation) but it all blended together with the story!
⭐⭐⭐⭐🌠 All in all both books were very exciting, easy to read and even though I didn't have much time to read I swallowed them (yeah yeah better believe it). The story was very very good and enjoyable and I would recommend this to beginner readers of paranormal-fantasy or readers who want something easy to read but still enjoyable. My only complaints are some more details in certain scenes and not so much fact pace -or really skipping-, maybe some more povs on important scenes for the story like Leah´s or Maddy and definitely Brayden´s to help us understand the world the writer has created and empathize with the characters because at least I need some time for that. Oh and definitely more private scenes between our two main characters and not necessarily sexual.
