POR FAVOR LEAN AGE OF THE SIRENS 🙏

I love this story so much. What a journey! Like the other reviews said, it is quite fast paced so all the information and emotions keep coming at you full throttle.
The characters are unique and complex in their own way, some more developed than others, but they all have their chance to become humans (or mermaids!) under the author's pen.
MC and ML's love is such a beautiful mess I can't help crying each time I remember it, they had such sweet moment and such heart wrenching ones too. Their love was bittersweet, built upon cruel memories and broken feelings, it was great to see how it was built up, broken and built up again, throughout their journey.
How their realtionship progressed as their charachter grew, as they started to awaken their new understanding of the world and themselves, not without pain, but neither without warmth.
There were so many times I wished I could give them both a hug.
I like how the author portays the environment. Completely destroyed by human greed, with little hope of making a turn for better.
The setting is interesting, a dystopian, post-apocalyptic (?... (though the apocalypsis seems far from over), rotten world. Where people struggle with their controling system and with the external forces that try to take control.
It is a worldwide power struggle, there aren't allies or enemies, neither is one side good while the other is bad. Each party takes their time showing their ugly side, the difference is... One party has an uglier side to show than the other.
Meanwhile, each character is just a chess piece, a victim, in the board set by these great forces. Treading blindly most of the time, trying to get a hold of their destiny. Realizing they are pawns whilst they wonder how to become kings.
This novel has action, has love, has brotherhood, has hate, has entanglements, has pain, has comradeship, has tragedy.
It is beautifully written, those 107 chapters are enough for the author to put you through a journey which will drag you though the warmest and most painful experiences.
On a side note, after reading Falling Into the Abyss I thought this one would be moooore painful, not saying it is not painful, I bawled my eyes out, just that I think.
Maybe my perception has been broken by this author's stories, but yep, that's my take.
