After an unexpected attack, Silver and her people stand face-to-face with a dangerous enemy.

Will they come out alive?

Even if they survive this, nothing will ever be the same again. Silver’s home is gone, and the Elites are still hunting her down. To make matters worse, someone else is hunting her, too.

Whether she can stay alive will depend on how far she’s willing to go, and what kind of allies she’s willing to make.

Ignited, book #4 of The Immortal Ones series, continues to follow Silver and her friends in their fight for survival.

I kept waiting for the story to get moving. It's as if it is just stuck in neutral the majority of the time. I don't fault this author because it seems pretty consistent with the majority of book series that they lack recaps. When there's a gap between books (and you're a big reader like me) you tend to need a reminder of where the story left off. With this book I just didn't care about any of the characters at all. I figured I must have enjoyed the previous books to continue but will probably only read final to complete.

I am sure it is obvious by now that I am a HUGE Shade Owens fan. There's just something about her writing and use of cliffhangers in her series that keeps me hooked! The Immortal Ones series is an excellent YA dystopian adventure with a strong female protagonist.

In Ignited, Book 4 of the series, Silver, her friends, and the people of different communities find themselves in a fight to the death with the Woodfaces who have been sent (threatened) by the Elites to bring Silver back to Olympus. Displaced yet again, Silver is forced to dig deep to find her inner strength and perseverance to overcome the challenges she faces in her travels. Will she ever find a place to call home and get the chance to live a peaceful life? Or will she have to take down Olympus and the Elites once and for all?

I loved the exploration of Silver and other characters, the sweet budding romance between her and Sadie, and the fast-paced and dangerous adventures she encounters. I can't wait to read the 5th and final book soon!!!

I received an advance digital review copy of this eBook for free from the author and BookSirens, and I am leaving this review voluntarily as a courtesy.

"Just because others do things that are wrong, it should never stop us from doing what's right."

If I had to sum up Ignited in one quote, this would be it. In a world where you must fight for survival, doing the right thing tends to take a backseat, but if you look hard enough and deep enough people generally want to do what's right. Shade unexpectedly throw's some curve balls at us with her characters this time. It's very interesting to see how tides can turn and I wonder what side these people will end up on in the final book.

Fact, book four is action packed and kept me interested the entire time. Fact, I was happy this book had James throughout, who became my favorite character from book three. Fact, I'm sad that the next book will be the last of The Immortal Ones.

Honestly, Shade's writing is like wrapping up a present for us. Each book is part of the process and this one was her tying up the loose ends into a big shiny bow so that the final book can blow us away with the big surprise ending. So if you like Hunger Games, Divergent or reading in general, you should give this series a shot.

I received a free ARC from BookSirens and freely give this review.

I received a copy of this book from the author.

This book is action packed and follows straight on from book three with Silver and her friends fighting the Woodfaces.

They face old enemies and new ones as they fight for a fair society to live in. All Silver and her friends want is for the Elites to leave people to live in peace. For them not to treat the people of Lutum as slaves and not to attack the villages where Silver is trying to make a new life for herself.

Life is never that simple and Shade writes a compelling story that pulls the reader in. I found myself wondering (no doubt like Silver) what could possibly go wrong next. Just as she finds a little peace, even for a few hours, things go wrong.

I am so very much looking forward to the next book in this fast paced series.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I loved how the plot focused on exploring the land and finding new people, some good and some bad.

The pacing was great and once I started reading, I just couldn't put this book down.

I'm so intrigued by the invisible wall and I have so many questions. Who made it? How long has it been there? Who controls it? Why? It makes me think of The Hunger Games and the forcefield that surrounds the arenas.

I think Silver is constantly growing and she is fiercely loyal and protective of the people she cares about. James and Sadie are two of my favourite side characters but they're all well developed.

I would like some more action back at Olympus and I look forward to seeing how Silver deals with the Elites and her promises with Jared and Nestor.

I have one question for Shade … can you not just give them a minute :)

Lovely character development and world building over this series. Lot's of emotion, relationship building, swaying between love and have for the characters, and a great story. Can't wait for the final chapter in this series to see how it all plays out, and what twists and turns the author has in store for us.

Definitely worth the read.

Ignited is Book 4 in The Immortal Ones by Shade Owens. Ignited is a fast paced story that has so much in the story. Silver, Elias and Finn are fighting the Woodface and Elias' brother, Jarad. Silver is still The Girl Who Refused Immortality and ignited a revolution in Lutum. But, the Immortals are fighting back. This is a fantastic fantasy/thriller and I can't wait to read book 5 and read the conclusion of this series. I received an arc for free and am leaving my review voluntarily.

Loved this book! Silver, James, Sadie and Dax adventures continue! This book picks up right where book 3 ends and the action doesn’t stop! They go from one tough spot to the next until they finally get caught in a really tight spot. Silver is forced to make a bargain with two devils.
Shade Owens delivers with this story - but it does end with a BIG cliffhanger! Can’t wait for book 5!

Books 2, 3, and 4 have basically the same story with different people (same main characters). There was a new plot point added in this book that I don't understand why it was added. And not sure how the main character knows how to write having never done it before.
I want to read the 5th book to just wrap up this very long story. I haven't thought the writing was very good in this series, but I like the main central character's personality.

I've been a fan of Shade Owen since Eden Rising and I know I'm going to have a good time reading whatever is written. I enjoyed this book Ignited, I was invested from the previous books and was glad I was able to read this. The story was what I was hoping for and the characters were wonderfully done.

This is an incredibly talented young author whose books I am devouring. Storyline and character development are exceptional. An excellent novel illustrating how a society can devolve back into slavery and gross mistreatment of its citizens in seconds of inattention and how the fabric of society can be warped and literally destroyed if society does not inttervene

Much better book in the series - I think could have been all condensed into a 3 or 4 book series rather than 5 but this was faster paced.

Four books into this series and we have solved 0 problems. Every book introduces a new crisis and none have even come close to being solved.

I've really been into this series. I rarely read long series but this os well worth it. The suspense and thrill of not knowing what is coming next, has kept me on the edge of my seat and has kept me wanting more. Can not say how much I look forward to the final book of this series. Praise to Shade Owens for an absolute great read.
