Big things happen! Featuring the fan-favorite new character “Dee” Donovan! That’s her on the cover! I think I have a thing for powerful women. It has a lot to do with stuff that happened to me as a child. I don’t really want to get into it here!!

This continues to be an interesting, engaging, and understated family drama that smartly critiques the economics and politics of the comics industry. The Publisher of Singular flexing that people won’t care about the exploitation of comic creators as long as movies and toys keep coming out hit pretty hard.

While much of the story is convincing and tight, the dramatic tension of Miles having a gambling problem feels pretty contrived. It’s a convenient plot device to speed up the timeline on making a deal with Singular but it doesn’t sit right with me, either in terms of the character of the overall story.

The conclusion to the issue holds a ton of promise - will the family be able to publish the comics independently??

Did the first three of these while hiding out from work. And boy was it worth it! Zdarsky once more proving he can turn his hand to most anything. This behind the curtain look at a comic book artist watching all he has created be pumped for movies, toys and memoribillia in the "SCU" couldn't be more pertinent. The growing details on the rest of the family in #3 has made this easily one of the top pulls of the month!

Unique fictional story about the real scenario of the rightful ownership of original creativity.
