Getting Shipped! #5

Doctorshipped

Rate this book
I’m the absolute last remaining single woman in the entire town of Bordeaux.
Okay, maybe not the very last.
Just the last one with all her teeth, natural hair color, and the ability to remember where I set my keys.

I decided years ago that I’m going to remain single until my dying day.
I’ll infuse a new, hip meaning into the term “old cat lady.”
I don’t need a man.
I’ve got my bulldog, my cats and some of the best friends in the world.
My cup’s not half-full—It’s overflowing.

My man-free life is going along fine until the day I walk into my new job as a part-time tutor to the daughter of the new doctor in town. The sight of this man is making my skin tingle and my breath hitch, and something very much like butterflies are erupting in my stomach.
Butterflies!
I don’t do butterflies over a man.

My reaction doesn’t mean I need to change my stance on men. After all, Grant’s a broody, stern, cantankerous man. If I were going to start dating, it certainly wouldn’t be someone who obviously hasn’t smiled since he was forced to for school pictures.

But then his daughter walks in the room and his face lights up.
That smile. Who knew swooning was a real thing?
Still, I’m not dating. And that’s final.

Doctorshipped is a closed-door, small town romcom that will make you laugh out loud and give you all the feels. You can expect kissing scenes that might melt your kindle, but there are no explicit scenes.

Doctorshipped by Savannah Scott
Getting Shipped series #5. Contemporary romantic comedy. Can be read as a stand-alone. Grumpy sunshine troupe.
Jayme feels like she’s the last single person in Bordeaux. She handles her multiple jobs with dexterity and joy. She has a goal. Accepting a tutoring job for the new doctor and his daughter has Jayme feeling a bit smitten. Maybe her man-free declaration was premature.

Adorably charming.
🎧 I listened to an audiobook version narrated by Amy McFadden and Will Damron in alternating chapters. These two perform with a wonderful amount of humor and drama. You can’t help falling in love just listening to their voices. Each has a distinct male / female variance but I feel McFadden did a better job with Fiona, the daughter. The timing is impeccable and the heart of the story comes through clearly.
I listened is story at 1.5 speed which is my most comfortable for conversational comfort.

I loved the ways Jayme came up with learning techniques for dyslexia and gave positive reinforcement. I also loved how Grant was a softer version of himself worth his daughter.

I received a copy of this from NetGalley and Dreamscape Media.

Bordeaux, Ohio has a new doctor—the grumpy but lovable single dad Grant Peppers. Having lost his wife to cancer, his sole focus is his daughter and medical practice. I loved seeing his serious demeanour tested by Jayme, the twenty-seven year old ball of sunshine hired to tutor his daughter.

Quirky and unapologetically herself, I really liked Jayme! Committed to the single life, believing romance is for everyone but her, Grant is the last man she expects to find the possibility of love with. Their delightful banter was fun from the very beginning!

But I did have some issues ...

I still wholeheartedly enjoy this series, though! Filled with meddling locals, Bordeaux is always fun to revisit. I'm looking forward to the next release.

Alright Bordeaux!! There is a new couple in town and I am HERE FOR IT! It's no secret that I am obsessed with this series, and for good reason. It is small town perfection and I want to pack my bags and move right in!

Grant is quite possibly THE BEST grumpiest character I have EVER read. It was so perfect. The references to all of the grumpiest people (real of fiction) was so funny and so on point.

Jayme is the perfect blend of sugar and spice! Sweet as can be to everyone around her, but not afraid to let people know when they are stepping out of line.

Add in the 12 year old Fiona, and this is a triple threat of wonderful characters.

You'll laugh, you'll cry, you'll have plot twists come out of no where and you will sigh with happiness when you finish and already start planning your next reread. This series is seriously one of the best things to happen to the literary world. Do not miss out on this one, friends!

Thanks to the author for the copy. All thoughts in this review are my own.

How much do I love this book? Let me count the ways...

Oh my gosh, Savannah has outdone herself with this one. Grant and Jayme are officially my favorite Bourdeaux couple. I knew I would love this book, but I didn't know how much until I started reading. It kept me up past midnight because I just HAD to finish it.

I love Grant. He's a grump with a tender heart. Mostly for his daughter, Fiona. He's a realist and Jayme is the sunshiney, bubbly woman he didn't know he needed. She forces him to see the world in a different light.

Jayme is just the sweetest. She's funny and sees beneath Grant's rough exterior. I love her connection with Fiona. It's precious. I have loved watching Jayme grow from book one to now. She is so much stronger and self-confident (but not in a gross, obnoxious way). Though she is adamant that she wants to remain single, Grant definitely makes her second guess the choice.

Fiona is absolutely adorable and I really love that this book shows a healthy relationship between a parent and child! Fiona is eleven, but older than her years. She's so sweet and is a huge daddy's girl. I loved seeing Grant through her eyes and the way she absolutely adores Jayme.

This book has everything and more!

👵Memaw, Mable, and Ethel (cause it's not Bourdeaux without these three)

I seriously could go on and on about this amazing book. There's just so much to unpack and I LOVED the ending.

This couldve been a 3 star book but the third act conflict just made me skip pages until the end. I don't remember Grant ever telling her about his ex wife, but apparently she knew and she was mad at him because she ASSUMED she was dead. I just didn't make any sense Grant and his ex wife weren't even caught in a position to assume he was cheating she just saw how he looked at Margot (ex wife) and just ran. I don't think Grant needed to apologize or go through what he did to get her back. However I did love the characters and the relationships between them as well. I will check out her other books because it wasn't a bad book it was just the third act that threw if off for me.

OVERALL STAR RATING: 5/5
CLEAN RATING: 5/5

Did you know that it takes exactly 0.2 seconds to become fully immersed in Savannah Scott RomCom? Ok, so I didn’t time it, but this is truly how it feels whenever I start one of her books.

I’m a no spice reader. Truth be told, I really don’t even NEED the sizzle and swoon. I know, I know…but kissing scenes are never my top priority. It’s everything that comes in between. It’s exceptional character depth and unique storylines, laughs and giggles that keep me coming back for more. You could literally remove EVERY single kiss smooching moment from Doctorshipped, and you would STILL have a phenomenal book. That's just how good of a writer Savannah is.

Dr. Grant and his 11-year-old daughter, Fiona, have just moved to the small town of Bordeaux, OH in hopes of a fresh start following tragic life events. Fiona is dyslexic and Grant immediately seeks out a tutor for her once they arrive in town. Shock of all shocks when Jayme shows up to apply for the job – the woman he sat next to on his flight out to OH…the woman who proceeded to fall asleep and drool on his shoulder. Lol

Grant is the king of grumps and Jayme is complete sunshine. Neither one of them is looking for love. In fact, Jayme has declared she’s rocking single until the day she dies. LOL Jayme is hired as Fiona’s tutor which means her and Grant naturally wind up spending a decent amount of time together. One can only speculate what happens from there.

ALL the characters in this story are going to win your heart, but oh my goodness is little Fiona the CUTEST thing ever! Oh, and what happens around 85% in…just…WOW! Pick this one up – doctor’s orders!

I’ve been looking forward to reading about Jayme and Grant ever since reading book 4 in the series, and the chemistry was spot on, Grumpy-Sunshine sweet-clean romcom. funny, swoony kisses, tender moments, and a plot twist. make sure you read the earlier books in the series as you will enjoy seeing the characters from those books in this one.

I loved the characters, the setting, the writing, and the feelings this book gave me. couldn't help but love Grant, grumpiness and all. In this book, he's for sure the perfect grump, but mostly you just see his sweet side. He's a protector of all that he loved. this story is the perfect example of how to write a romance with the single-parent trope. the characters had great chemistry and their interactions were endearing.

I received a complimentary copy of the book and was not required to write a review. The opinions are my own.

Bordeaux is one of my favorite fictional towns ever. After this book, it’s even more so. I loved how the town comes together in this book to help out Jayme. But there is so much more to this book than that.

How can you not love a grump? Especially one like Grant who anyone can tell loves his daughter so very much. Grant and Fiona were definitely a big part of this book. And a great part too. Fiona made me laugh with all of her pets. And Grant made me laugh with how grumpy he was. These two are so great!

Then there’s Jayme. I loved her optimism. And all of her graphic tees. Also the way she falls for Fiona right away. Jayme is the perfect female lead. I loved her so much!

The plot of this one was so great! You’d think, it’s a rom-com, no twist, right? Well, you’d be so wrong with this one. There was a huge twist. And you’re never going to guess it before you find it in the book. At least I didn’t.

I loved seeing all of my favorite characters from Bordeaux in this one again. All of Jayme’s girlfriends and their guys are in there. It’s always fun to see what they’re up to. You could read this one as a stand alone book. But you’ll love it so much more if you read the other first.

I loved every bit of this one. You need to read it!

I was sent an e-copy of Doctorshipped as a gift from the author. All opinions are my own.

Steam Level: 🔥 (kissing only)
Trigger Warning: brief mentions of cancer, divorce, cheating, and body shaming

Grant Peppers is ready to start over with his eleven year old daughter Fiona as the new doctor in Bordeaux, OH. As a newly single parent, he wants to give Fiona some positive female role models and provide a happier, more laid-back lifestyle than they had in a big city. But Grant is a realist and introvert and isn't sure if he's ready for the locals to be all up in his business. So when the optimistic fantasy romance novelist Jayme crosses paths with him and ends up as his daughter's tutor, he's not sure how to handle her bright and quirky personality. As the two spend more time together, they learn that their opposing personalities might be just right for each other. Can Grant open up and let Jayme in or will he miss out on a second chance at true love?

It was so nice to be back in Bordeaux, OH and see how things played out with the handsome, broody new doctor! While I did jump ahead in the series, I knew I wouldn't be confused by reading things a bit out of order. I've been reading a lot of grumpy/sunshine tropes lately with mixed results, and thankfully this was one of the times that it worked for me. Jayme was fun and quirky without being too over the top, and Grant was just enough of a grump while still showing some softer sides as he fell in love. I thought the dyslexia representation with Fiona was done really well, and I enjoyed seeing Jayme work hard to help Fiona feel confident and successful. It was also sweet to see Fiona and Grant together, as well as the relationship they both shared with Grant's dad. The other women of Bordeaux were excellent in this book and were so supportive of Jayme. I loved getting glimpses of past couples and seeing what they're up to now. My only complaint was the backstory with Grant's wife and how it played into the conflict. I can't really explain much without it being a spoiler, but I'll just say that it gave me pause and felt odd. I don't know if it was meant as a plot twist, or if I just misunderstood the author's intentions. Luckily the rest of the story and the ending were enough to keep me satisfied. I'm definitely looking forward to learning more about Brooks in the next book, as well as backtracking to read about Duke and Shannon!

Oh my gosh, so good! I think Doctorshipped might be my favorite book in Savannah Scott's marvelous Getting Shipped! series so far.

I loved this pairing. Both Jayme and Grant are so deserving of love, and the addition of sweet little Fiona is beautifully done!

You can read (or listen to) any of the books in the Getting Shipped! series as standalones. It's fun to see how each of the characters from this quirky little town find romance.

The audio for the entire series is beautifully performed by Amy McFadden and Will Damron.

This book! I didn’t know if I could love another as much as Duke and Shannon, but ladies and gentlemen, she’s done it again! And in a whole new way, but with just as much chemistry and fun. This kind of sums up what we have going on between Grant and Jayme—
“It doesn’t matter what I want. She’s Fiona’s tutor. She’s seven years younger than me, and she’s as committed to avoiding romantic relationships as I am. Besides, she’s perpetually happy.”
“Such a despicable trait in a woman.”

Things I Loved:
-Not so meet cute airport experience
-Fiona
-Anne reference 😍
-“It’s my hobby—being difficult. Some people knit. I grumble. You’ll need to get used to it.”
-Jayme’s T-shirts
-Dr. McGrumpypants
-Cobbled
-“I’ll have to write that into a book.”
-“Yeah. Like, why let his grumpiness affect me? I’m going to be unapologetically me. He’s just a raincloud. I’m the freaking sun.”
-Duke sightings
-Their texts 😍
-If-only
-Dr Pepper
-Drool penance
-Cyborg romance
-Salami
-Potaters gonna potate
-Grant’s dad
-Just coffee
-Chuck
-The wink
-Water fight
-Paint Night
-“Bordeaux, Ohio, the land of zero boundaries and infinite mystery casseroles.”
-The dance
-Grandpa nicknames
-#notjustsmittenImBitten
-I’ll see you first
-THAT KISS 😍
-Fierce Pixie
-Cooter’s “specialty”
-“You got the squeal.”
-THE hug
-“What is it about ice cream that soothes the wounded heart?”
-Mis-fortunes
-An open book 📖
-“The thing is, you didn’t heal this grump of his pessimism, but you shined light into my darkness.”
-Another grand Bordeaux gesture & the best epilogue ♥️

I also felt like this review needed a separate list for amazing little nuggets of wisdom:

“All I’m saying is you can change your mind. Any choice is valid. But clinging to a choice past its expiration date when it’s done serving you? There’s no glory or wisdom in that. If you start to have feelings for someone, it’s okay. You’re allowed to have something more or different than what you imagined for yourself.”

“It’s one of the perils of parenthood. We stand on the highest pedestals in our children’s hearts, which means we are the ones with the greatest power to both impact them when we’re at our best, and disappoint them when we inevitably fall.”

“We treasure the things we work hard for. And we work hard for the things we treasure.”

In this book there are so many amazing details and there is so much depth and realness. I FELT while reading this story. I laughed, I cried, I swooned—hard. So basically, just don’t miss out on this perfect addition to the Getting Shipped series! It can be read as a standalone, but seriously, who would want to miss any part of this amazing small town?!

I'm so happy to be back in Bordeaux! I had a healthy dose of secondhand embarrassment at the first meet between Jamie and Grant and there were plenty more moments sprinkled throughout this story. And I just love these narrators!

Fantasy romance author and job cobbler Jayme is the last single woman left in her small town--or one of them--and grumpy doctor Grant is a single dad, looking for a fresh start with his adorably sweet daughter, Fiona. These characters brought so many smiles to my face with their banter, especially due to Jayme's sunshiny charm. Although Grant seems gruff, he's a big ol' softie! I really appreciated the gradual emotions and fall, as it felt very natural and real.

I enjoy a book that allows me to escape, as this one did, and is full of quirky, small-town residents (especially the older trio) who bring so many antics to liven up an already sweet story. This story is well-written and this group of friends is so tight--they're like family. I feel like I was plopped into the middle of a comforting treat.

Scott has created a lovable series and it's easy to see why readers (including me) can't get enough.

Content: mild romance (kissing); vague talk of cancer

I can’t explain all the whys but this trope just works for me and Doctorshipped is definitely one of my new favorites!

Because even though Grant is a grump - quiet, stoic, and introverted, he is also kind, thoughtful, and would move heaven and earth for his daughter.

Which makes him the perfect match for Jayme, a sweet and sunshiney romance author who believes that romance is possible for everyone but her.

And oh my. When you put these two together…fireworks, my friends.

Sooo much to love about this book!! Read it for:

Grumpy/sunshine
Single Dad
Dual POV
The airplane ride
That first kiss
Hilarious old ladies
The nicknames
The wedding date
The water fight
The plot twist
Cameos of fave characters
The grand gesture
Brooks

The more I read this series, the more I wish Bordeaux was a real place because I am seriously IN LOVE with these characters! Each time I think there is no way can top her last book, she blows me away.

Seriously, my friends, if you haven’t picked up this series yet, you need to fix that! They are connected by a group of friends but can absolutely be read as standalones. You need the sweet and swooniness of the Shipped series in your life!

I received a complimentary copy of this book but a positive review was not required.

Yyyyyaaaalllll!! This. This is how a slow burn, grumpy/sunshine is DONE!!!
Wowza!!

I’ll be honest…I was messaging friends who’d read the book crying because I hadn’t gotten a kiss yet. But boooyyy howdy when they did finally come, as always Savannah knocked them out of the park!!

I looovveeeddd Jayme & Grant together! They seriously were the perfect opposites attract situation. And the fact that Grant had the BIGGEST heart under his grumpy exterior…swoooooonnn!!

I loved the light that Jayme was! Even when she was hurt she bounced back, and kept loving people regardless!

And FIONA! Loved her!!! And Grant’s dad! Aaaawwweee!!!
And the girl-gang meetings!!! And the notes! And the kisses!! And the growth!

Seriously. In. Love!!!

I love a single dad, grumpy sunshine romcom so I was so excited for this! It started off so strong and I loved it but I feel like it started to drag a bit for me. It could have been a bit shorter.

Nonetheless, Grant and Jayme were great characters. I loved seeing how they were both so resistant to love but they had such a strong connection. This made me laugh so much constantly! The twist 3/4th in threw me off, I was not expecting it. I must admit, Jayme slightly annoyed me with this whole situation but I was still rooting for them.

Super cute

Low angst and super cute, this is easygoing and lighthearted. It's got tons of small town charm, a great cast of characters, and a grumpy/sunshine dynamic that is always a win. Add in a single dad who also happens to be a doctor, and you can't go wrong with any of the components. I found the writing style to be a little TOO low stakes for me personally; I needed a little more tension to hold my interest. But I had a lot of fun jumping into the series, and it was an easy, palette cleanser of a read with lots of personality. This will be a win of small town lovers who enjoy a quirky rom com with no spice and a community feel. I had no trouble digging into this installment without reading the rest of the series first, but I bet it's even better experienced in order.

The story follows Grant, a doctor who just moved to a small town with his daughter. He's opening up his own medical practice and is looking for a tutor to help with his daughter's schoolwork, and both things are more complicated than expected. In a small town where everyone knows each other's business, Grant doesn't have his choice of tutors - he's stuck with Jayme. And while the eternally sunshiney woman seems to be great with his daughter, she makes the grumpy doctor uncomfortable. Not only does Jayme's bright and bubbly personality pull Grant in unexpectedly, but she also challenges him in a way no one else does. But both of them have sworn off love, and opposites don't really fit together anyways... right?

I've been meaning to try out this new-to-me author, and this was the perfect book to start with. It's got all the ingredients of a great read, and I really enjoyed the lighthearted rom com vibes. I read all heats levels, so I didn't mind that there was no spice (still some sexy kisses), but the lack of tension did get to me a little bit. It was SO light and SO easygoing - I'm honestly surprised that I'm complaining about that, lol. It was certainly a fun time, and I liked that it was cute and full of quirkiness. I can definitely see myself reading more from the author, though it's probably not the kind of book that will stay with me. It's a fun, popcorn read, and a feel good rom com that brightened up my day.

Audio note: The audio was good! I'm not familiar with either narrator (Will Damron and Amy McFadden), but they both do a good job. I particularly enjoyed Damron's deep, stern voice, which was perfect for the grumpy doctor. McFadden infused a lot of bubbly vibes into her voice, which was great for Jayme as well. So no complaints there. The runtime is a little longer than I'd hope for such an easygoing rom com (12 hours), and it took me several sittings to get through. But it was perfect as a workday listen, and the lack of spice was a win for that as well. So I definitely enjoyed the audio experience.

This rom com will have you giggling with delight with some of the crazy antics of these small-town residents. Being from a small, rural, Midwest town, I would like to say that the antics are pure humor and exaggerated, but since I have actually had someone show up at my doorstep with squirrel stew, I can attest that the embellishments while funny are indeed based in reality. Trust me the flavor these hilarious antics add to the story are humor gold especially to someone who has actually seen some of these in reality without the embellishments. Oh, and for the record, no my parents did not make us eat the squirrel stew as they too disposed of it and politely returned the pot to the owner with a thank you note and a plate of cookies. What can I say, small town manners are definitely something to aspire too! This series has become a must listen series for me as the dual narration really brings the characters, their stories, their emotions and their humor more fully to life. In this book, it's a grumpy-sunshine opposites attract story that will having you giggling and tearing up while loving every moment of it! I love this series and I do highly recommend that you read or listen to the series in order as each book introduces you even further into the lives of the characters and townspeople involved!

“I must’ve been a swarm of gnats in a past life.” 🦟

“Did you want to dance, Grant? (Jamie) I would. (Grant)” ❤️❤️❤️

This book is a little different from the others because you really get an overview of basically every character because Dr. Grant treats the whole town. So it helps you to get a feel for the array of personalities. I really liked that. When you read this series no matter which book you start with, you’ll feel like you’ve know the characters your entire life.

Jamie, Grant and Fiona fit so well together. When Grant talks about his ex wife you get the idea that she’s not the greatest but he never really bashes her either. You get the feeling from start to finish that Jamie is his person. It just feels right with her.

Pretty sure my favorite part of this book was Fiona. She was such a cute character and part of this story. Grant and Jayme are truthfully one of my favorites in the series. Probably my second favorite. I love the way Savannah Scott has developed these characters. Her humor and light hearted romances just hit the spot!

🌀Synopsis
Jayme first meets Grant when she falls asleep on him while they are flying. She’s definitely not prepared to continue seeing him though and is shocked when she finds out he’s the new doctor moving to town.
She applies to be Fiona’s tutor though and is determined to help her as much as she possibly can. Through her tutoring, she gets to know both Grant and Fiona better. She finds out that Fiona’s mom had cancer and slowly but surely, Grant begins to open up to her more.
With some convincing from his dad, Grant decides to pursue Jayme. Both of them are very hesitant and committed to staying single. There is too much attraction there though and they just can’t stay apart.
One secret about Fiona’s mom threatens to tear them apart but they ultimately find a way to get through it.

Idk but hating social media and implying everyone who uses it is frivolous and not down to earth as an author who relies on social media to bring her books into the world is a weird stance to take.

I've given this series way too many chances and this is my last one. Is it fun and easy to read? Sure! Is it also filled with hating on other women and shameless slut-shaming of any women who don't wear modest church dress 24/7? Also sure!

I've liked clean romances in the past (though I hate the implication that books with sex are somehow dirty), like Sarah Adam's novels, but I firmly believe you can write books without sex before marriage or explicit sex scenes without making them all preachy and constantly going on about how great this lifestyle is (and I'm saying this as a Catholic who dresses modestly and doesn't like sex outside of relationships).

Those were more my general issues with this series but I really couldn't get into this book. There's sweet-but-grumpy and then there's Grant, who's nothing-but-grumpy. Seriously. Apparently he's nice to his kid & Jamie but that doesn't sell it for me. He's just so boring!! And if he hates people that much, why'd he become a family medicine doctor.

I already hated the anti-social media stance in the previous books but in this one it was so much more annoying. Doesn't this author know she also has a social media account to promote her books? Is this a subtle hint towards her agent?? Does she want to become a nomad??? The world will never know.

The twist was stupid.

I feel myself being tempted to read the next book despite my issues but I'll resist that temptation for now.

Do you like Grunpy/Sunshine tropes? Age gaps? Books with a single dad who is the best dad to his daughter? Sunshiny MCs that make everybody's life better? If yes to any of those, this book is for you.
I love Jayme's character growth, her love for life, and her big dreams. I love Grant's need to help others, his hidden heart, smile quota, and character development. I love Fiona and her zest for life even though she's been through so much. The Bordeaux friends are back, the senior antics are hysterical, and once again the town is into everyone's business. This is such a great addition to the series!
Thank you Savannah Scott for the ARC! All opinions are my own.

I have officially read the whole Getting Shipped series. I have thoroughly enjoyed each one. Doctorshipped is sweet, Fiona helps make it so and a great part of the plot. I didn't seem to connect to Grant. It wasn't that he was a "grump" I love grumps! I just don't feel like I got to know his heart. Jayme is a great character but I had a hard time picturing her in my mind. I thought Jayme was a little hard on Grant. Sure, she had been hurt before but so had he and I feel like she could have shown more grace. I would like to have seen them get engaged earlier than after a year of dating. They are both mature adults who knew what they wanted. Love getting more of the friend group! My favorite parts are the airport, the letters, the wedding, grandpa and the frog scene!

Another top-notch romance from Savannah Scott! Grant is delicious grumpy, Jayme is hopelessly in denial, and Fiona is the ball of sunshine that they both need in their lives!

The town of Bordeaux really pulls together in this fantastic grumpy/sunshine romance, and I am here for the gang of girlfriends and their support of Jayme!

I was having one of those days where I didn't want to do anything except curl up and read the day away. I had no clue what I was going to read until I turned on my Kindle and saw this baby sitting there waiting for me to dive in. So dive in I did... and finished it in about 8 hours. 🙈

There's no better feeling than opening up a much anticipated book and being instantly transported to one of your favorite fictional places. A place where the world around you ceases to exist and, just for a little while, you can forget all your worries and just live in the moment with some of your favorite characters. These moments and books are ones I will always treasure.

From the very beginning I fell in love with all things Jayme, Grant and Fiona. Their meet-cute is probably one of my favorites this year. You can't help but fall in love with these three and root for them to discover their happily ever after. Their journey did have a few bumps along the way, and it took them a little while to get there, but they did. It was real, it was raw, it was beautiful, and it was definitely worth it.

Y'all. I was feeling all the feels in this one. And by all the feels, I mean ALL the feels! I was so engrossed in the book that I didn't even realize I was doing the same thing the characters were doing. I found myself getting teary-eyed, laughing out loud, giggling, and letting out all kinds of little dreamy sighs. I love when an author can make me feel like I am right there with the characters, listening to them tell me their story. It's one of my favorite things about reading!

I loved seeing and catching up with all my old friends from the previous books in this series. They made the book even better than it already was! And now the countdown begins for Brooks' book. Eeeeeek! I can't wait to see what Ms. Scott has in store for him! Just a little reminder for myself... *Writing takes time. Writing takes time. Writing takes time.*

Ms. Scott has quickly become one of my favorite authors. I don't even read the synopsis anymore. I just one-click that baby, sit back, and enjoy whatever ride she wants to take us on next! She is amazing! If you haven't read any of her books yet, I highly recommend checking them out!

As for my casting... I am loving these two! What do you think?!

What an amazing rom-com! I laughed out loud, I smiled, I swooned! This is my first book by Savannah Scott and I loved every minute of it. There are four other books in this series, but this one can be read as a stand alone. Although I can't wait to go back and read the other books in the series because this one was fantastic!

As a new reader I loved how we got an introduction to the town of Bordeaux and some of the characters in the friend group from previous books without it being overwhelming. There was just enough to get a sense of who everyone was and how close and fun this group of friends is. I loved every single one of them and now I need to know their stories as well!

Bordeaux is a cute little town in Ohio that you can't help but fall in love with. Dr. Grant decides to relocate there with his daughter Fiona after his wife’s passing for a fresh start. I loved Grant right from the start. He is a grump but he is so tenderhearted and loving to his daughter. I seriously could relate to his introverted ways. His thoughts on the town and the people there had me laughing. I loved Fiona too. She is a sweet ray of sunshine and her dad means the world to her.

Jayme was a fun character. I loved her positivity and her graphic tees. I was honestly very inspired by her. How she “cobbled” together several different jobs and passions for income so she could write novels and build a life she loves. She has been hurt in the past so she decides she wants to remain happily single. She has so many great things in her life already. Her idea of staying single may change after she gets to know Grant but she remains true to herself the entire book and is such a great main character.

There were so many things to love about this book that you just need to get a copy and read it yourself. I'm so glad I did. It had such a great meet cute that had me laughing, loveable characters with growth, fun banter, the dual point of view, water fight, the first kiss, Grant's grand gesture, and Brooks! Oh and the plot twist that you will never expect. I was shocked!

You better believe I will be reading every book in this series now that I got a sweet taste of Getting Shipped!

I received a complimentary copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

If you need a delightful Rom-Com full of heart and happiness, with some plots twists thrown in...look no further! This is the book for you (and series)! I'm so glad I took a chance with this series! I had seen friends enjoying the first couple of books and I thought about picking them up but then didn't. Then had a chance to review the audiobook for one of the books in the series and I jumped right in at the chance and haven't looked back!!!

Y'all this series is so much fun!!! If you want a fun fictional town to visit, Bordeaux (Bored Ox) is the town for you. The characters are charming, witty, spunky, delightful, hysterical and so much more. Especially the three senior citizen ladies. Oh. My. Heavens!!! They crack me up! I just love them so much! And the main group of friends, who the book series centers around, are just the best. They are so kind and loving and caring about each other. And welcoming to the love interests that show up.

Jayme was a character that I was hoping to get to enjoy her story soon and I loved it in this book!!! She's the awesome young cat lady who writes fantasy novels and is just all around delightful! And the first time we see her in this book is through the eyes of Grand and his 12 year old daughter Fiona. Hahaha! Oh my heavens. I love all of the misperceptions and then it just keeps going from there!

The chemistry is sizzling and adds a satisfying layer to Grant and Jayme's story. Grant has some personal issues that he's working through and trying to be the support and dad that Fiona needs after losing her mom. This new start in Bordeaux is just the right fit for them. But he needs to let his walls down and put his heart out there for Jayme, cause she's the girl who will cherish it!!!

Oh, and watch out for the plot twists! *grins and rubs hands*

I listened to an audiobook of this book and loved the two narrators, Amy McFadden and Will Damron! They are awesome together! They've brought all the stories to life in audiobooks for this series and it's so fun to jump back into another audiobook and hear their voices.

Content: Clean.

I received a copy from Dreamscape Media, via NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions in the review are my own.

Happy Reading!!!

Doctorshipped just became my new favorite book in this series. I know I've said that about nearly every book I've read in this series, but I really mean it this time. This book was so fabulous that I'm not sure how the next book will be able to top it.

Jayme is now my favorite character in the series. I love everything about her, from her list of "cobbled" jobs to her love of graphic tees (something we share in common.) And of course, I really identified with her struggles as an indie author. Grant did get on my nerves a bit at first, but he grew on me eventually. And Fiona was a total sweetheart. Also, I really, really love the town of Bordeaux. If I didn't already live in a small town, I'd definitely want to move there. I've said this many times already, but it bears repeating: if you love small town romcoms and haven't yet read this series, what are you waiting for? Ok, onto book 6!
