Dashing Mr. Snow

Rate this book
The last thing I expected to get for Christmas, was dumped by my boyfriend.
But walking in on my naked boss and seeing his—candy cane was an even BIGGER holiday surprise.

Alex Snow, billionaire CEO of Snow Communications and the only living heir to his family's fortune, has a reputation for being intimidating.
Not in the I'm an arrogant bosshole kind of way but more of a I value my privacy above all else kind of way.

So imagine his delight when I stumble into the bedroom of his penthouse with a contract in hand just as he emerges from the shower.
To say I was mortified when his low slung towel fell to the floor in a crumpled pile while my eyes bulged out of my head, is like saying the Titanic hit an ice cube.
Nothing like falling to your hands and knees to gather up the papers you dropped while your boss is standing over you indisposed.

What I thought would certainly end my career at his company has suddenly catapulted us into an unlikely friendship.
One that has me spilling all my secrets one drunken night when we end up stuck in an elevator.
But the moment he pulls me into his arms at a mistletoe kissing contest, he awakens something in me I didn't know was there, something I want to explore more.

When he comes home with me for the holidays as just a friend, lines start to blur, confusion takes over and my ex shows back up in my life telling me all the things I've wanted to hear him say for so long.

The last thing I want to do is lead Alex on but even worse, I don't want to lose him as a friend.
Suddenly my heart and my head are in an all out war.
One that has me questioning if my broken heart still pines for my ex or if I'm already in love with my boss, the Dashing Mr. Snow.

Dashing Mr.Snow is another great Holiday story from Alexis Winter. Alex Snow is the CEO of his father’s company and we start off at new hire orientation where he meets the stunning Sadie Emmert. Then 2 years later, Sadie finds herself at Alex’s feet while he is naked and this turns into a friendship between the unlikely pair. I really loved their friendship and how it gradually led to more. It was steamy and fun and packed a bit of self discovery and growth for such a quick read.

If you are ready to get in the holiday spirit then I highly suggest you pick this one up! I enjoyed this one and read it practically in one sitting. The age gap, the spice, the bottle of rum all made this book so enjoyable. Alex was such a perfect hero. He may be an alpha billionaire but he is also down to earth and willing to do an ice luge with the rest of Sadie’s family. Sadie brought the spark and fun back into Alex’s life. She reminded him the importance of family which is always a great reminder at Christmas time!

Dashing Mr. Snow is a fabulous little holiday novella from Alexis Winter. This book is a complete stand alone so if you are looking for a fun and steamy quick read this is a great one to grab.

I absolutely loved this little holiday story! I could not put it down and devoured every moment in one sitting.

Alex Snow is a young billionaire CEO of his father's company that he took over after his father's passing. Sadie Emmert is about 10 years his junior and a member of his sales team. Though they have had little interaction since her orientation about 2 years prior- Sadie had instantly caught Alex's eye, and let's just say all the stars aligned at just the right time for these two when Sadie's longtime boyfriend wanted a break and a stuck elevator with a bottle of cheap rum set the stage for bonds that can't be broken.

Dashing Mr. Snow has all the makings of a great rom-com. There is an instant attraction between these two and it is played up with this fun and silly banter lined with innuendo but truth. The tensions boiling between these two were high though they weren't really acted on until later in the second half of the story so it's a bit of a slow burn as well. I loved Alex's character. He was a little shy and reserved but when he peeked out of his shell he was so easygoing and fun- not at all what you get with a lot of the billionaire CEO characters- especially ones that have nothing more than their work to keep them company. Sadie was a sweetheart- I kind of hated how despite all the signs and realization about how crappy her relationship with Tim was, she still held that little flicker of hope or affection for that relationship. But having witnessed relationships like that in real life it made her character feel more real. It didn't soften how much I wanted to shake her when she literally had an almost perfect swoony man vying for her affection though!

Kudos Ms. Winter on your latest holiday novella- reading them each year is starting to be one of my new favorite traditions!

A slow burn taboo romance. The boss and the employee. Alex wanted her from the moment he set eyes on her 2 years ago. Sadie is oblivious of his attraction towards her. He is a patient man. Coming out of a break up with her ex after a 3 year relationship, Sadie is for the first time alone during the Christmas break. When Sadie has to take documents to her boss at his home for signing, she got more that what she was expecting... A naked Mr Alex Snow! Alex takes the chance of trying to get to know Sadie, when they both get trapped in the elevator with a bottle of rum for over 4 hours, She invites him to have Christmas with her and her family whilst tipsy. Did she make a mistake with the invite? What will he think of her loud and raucous family?
This is an entertaining and funny story with lots of heat that slowly builds up between Alex and Sadie. He knows he needs to take it slow but does he leave it too late to tell her his real feelings?
The ex, Tim decides he is over having a break from Sadie and wants her back. Does she choose Alex or does she take Tim back, the man she thought she was going to marry and grow old with.
She is unsure of her feelings for Alex, thinking it could just be a rebound relationship and does not think a rich billionaire would want her for anything else but as a hook up. Check out this great story. A great read with a HEA.

"Maybe we can be a little naughty. You want to be naughty for me, right, Sadie?"

Sadie Emmert's long-time boyfriend recently broke her heart and her mind was a jumble of emotions. With a contract in hand, Sadie accidentally walked in on her boss, Alex Snow, billionaire CEO of Snow Communications, finding him naked with his 'candy cane' fully on display. When Alex first spotted Sadie two years earlier at her new hire orientation, he was drawn to her instantly and hadn't stopped thinking about her since. In what could have been the end of her career, an unlikely friendship developed between Sadie and Alex and she spilled her secrets one drunken night while stuck with him in an elevator. But when Alex turned up the heat and pulled her into his arms at a mistletoe kissing contest, something sparked and everything changed.

"You have no idea the effect you have on people, do you?"

A deliciously steamy holiday novella, Dashing Mr. Snow had so much potential but I didn't love it like I had expected I would. First, I didn't resonate with the author's writing, finding it somewhat awkward at times and abundant with typos and grammatical errors particularly as a finished copy. I also didn't care for Sadie who seemed too naive and insecure, her immaturity inconsistent with her age. I understand she was never truly satisfied by her ex but she was clueless in her knowledge of the male anatomy. I cringed at the use of terms like 'candy cane' and 'kielbasa sausage' to describe his manhood and a sexy and successful billionaire would never say 'those ones' to approach a woman, much less an employee.

That being said, I loved Alex Snow! He was a total alpha, possessive and demanding, setting fire to the pages with so much hidden beneath the surface. He appreciated and respected Sadie, really seeing her for who she was. He brought her wild side, letting her shed her inhibitions and explore her sexuality without any shame. I loved his domination and control as well as the "good girl" praise. He was powerful and commanding, prioritizing Sadie's pleasure over his own, but he never crossed any line she didn't want to cross. Sadie's ex simply paled in comparison in every way. I'm not sure I believe Alex was pining over Sadie for two years but I loved the way his feelings for her consumed him. And I loved how he integrated seamlessly with her family.

"I want to look at you across the room at your family Christmas and know I’ve tasted you. I want you to look at me and know that all I’ll be thinking about is when I get to taste you again."

Sadie harbored too much guilt about moving on from her ex, overly obsessed with talking to him for closure or possibly letting him back into her life, holding herself back from taking what she wanted and deserved. She showed little hesitation in her sexual adventures with Alex, diving in faster and harder than I expected, turning up the heat lightning fast, even though she was slow to express her feelings and take what she wanted. I would have liked to see a stronger, more confident heroine and I think Alex would have fit better with one too. I couldn't feel the true connection between them beyond the physical and I wasn't convinced of the instant attraction.

I loved the forbidden nature of the relationship between Alex and Sadie and I liked how this wasn't simply a billionaire boss/employee romance but also incorporated a friends with benefits element as well. I would have liked to see a deeper look into Alex's character addressing his loneliness and lacking family structure as it was a significant part of the story and would have contrasted nicely with Sadie's warm, welcoming family. Sadie's relationship with her mother was sweet and heartwarming, clearly filled with so much love. And everything wrapped up in an epilogue that was beautiful and endearing as Sadie and Alex brought out the best in each other, promising an HEA destined for a happy future together.

"You’re it for me, Sadie. You’re everything I want and need. I’ll wait for you as long as it takes."

This is a lovely Christmas romance from Alexis Winter.
He wanted a break he said, but Sadie knew that what her partner of three years really wanted was to try his hand with Tiffany, one of the juniors at the law firm where he worked. How could he do this to her at Christmas ? Deep down Sadie knew that taking Tim to her parents home for another Christmas was a bad idea, even if she could have persuaded him to go, he thought that her family were below him and that all their Christmas games and traditions were childish.
When Sadie first started working at Snow communications, unbeknown to her she caught the eye of CEO Alex Snow but it was some time before they were to meet up again in very unconventional circumstances.
Alex Snow was a loner, he had no living family, his work was his life, even on Christmas day he would be working because there wasn't anything else to do, all his money hadn't brought him happiness but an unexpected invitation to spend Christmas with a wonderful family would change his life.
This story follows the journey of Sadie and Alex, from two completely different worlds, meeting and falling in love, of Sadie's uncertainties and of Alex's patience and understanding.
A lovely heartwarming story.

A very fun read!

Alex has had a crush on Sadie for three years now, and lucky for him, her boyfriend has just asked her for a break that she did not see coming. Well, I think she saw it, she just didn’t want to admit it.

These two have a whirlwind of a relationship over the holiday season and through it all Alex lets Sadie know that her friendship is very important to him. She is just coming to terms with her feelings towards her “ex” and doesn’t know if she should be jumping into a relationship so quickly. But when you know, you know. And these two both know what’s up.

This was spicy and steamy and very sweet. A nice enjoyable holiday story.

Alexis Winter does it again with this Office Romance holiday novella.

I'm gonna keep it short and to the point it's so good. The chemistry between Alex Snow and Sadie Emmert was hot enough to warm you up on a cold night. The one thing I like about novellas is that they give you the much-needed break you need from a novel, but still have a good plot, the right amount of spice and then your HEA. It was a nice change to read something lighthearted and whimsical.

Kudos to you Alexis, can't wait for your next novel and the hot men that come with it.

What a fun holiday book! We meet Sadie Emmert first, about 3 years ago as she is starting a new job out of college. The group of new hires is attending a new hire orientation, and the CEO sees her and decides to speak to the group. Alex Snow is about in his early 30’s, and is considered unfriendly and intimidating. Sadie settles into her job, enjoying work, but not so much her personal life. Now, 3 years into her career, she’s asked to take paperwork to the CEO for signatures that his assistant forgot in the assistant’s rush to leave for the weekend. And this is where the story takes off and becomes a fun read. I enjoyed reading about the increasing friendship between the two, and how Alex Snow is such an un-typical boss. Alexis Winter has written a well though-out story, with no errors. The characters are both fun and detailed. A great holiday read! I was given an ARC of this book from the author through BookSprout and this is my honest opinion.

Alexis, I will never look at a candy cane the same way again. This book may have been short but the amount of spice made up for it. It starts as a slow burn then it's a spicy ride. Alex and Sadie were great together. The attraction between them could have been cut with a knife. I absolutely adored Sadies family and especially her friends we all need people like that in our lives. Again it's a great holiday book plus it's by Ms. Winter.

A very delightful holiday story. Alex Snow aka “Candy Cane” is a billionaire CEO. Sadie works in the sales department of his company. The plot is interesting and fun. The characters are wonderful. As Sadie and Alex get the opportunity to know each other they see that they have a lot of things in common. Spending the holidays together builds a bond and starts to create a relationship that will last a lifetime.

4.5 Stars! Sadie and Alex are amazing together, but what makes this story even better are the background/side characters. Many times a story seems like it could be perfectly fine with just the main characters and some random background noise...but Sadie's friends and family are amazing and just add to the feel of the whole story! Alex is a lonely billionaire, not one that stuck in his head and full of an entitled attitude. He feels like an actual human and a fun one at that! Such a great, fun, quick, holiday read!

What an absolutely adorable Christmas story and a great introduction to holiday romance reads.

Sadie is caught in relationship limbo when her boyfriend wants to take a break and see other people right before the holidays. She’s tasked to drop off some contracts at her gorgeous boss’s penthouse and walks in on him in nothing but a towel which drops when he sees her.

Alex was instantly smitten by the red head when he comes to speak at the new hire orientation but only after they have their “embarrassing encounter” that he begins to make his move.

I loved this sweet and spicy story. Alex was book boyfriend material. This was a new author to me but I will have to check out her backlist. Check this one out. Highly recommend.

Fun and naughty, this is exactly the sort of Christmas I love to read. Alex and Sadie’s story begins two years prior at the new hire orientation where they first meet. He’s the billionaire CEO, and she’s the new sales associate. He feels an immediate pull to her, but then they don’t really connect again until one night right before Christmas Sadie is tasked with delivering something to the boss. After that and another chance meeting in an elevator with a bottle of rum in tow, Alex and Sadie form a friendship. He even winds up spending Christmas with her family, and they quickly move into not-so-friendzone territory despite Sadie being newly single. But will Sadie’s recent breakup play a factor in her budding relationship with Alex, or will they be able to become more?

This novella is the kind of Christmas-themed book that gives you all the holiday feels but with plenty of steam. There’s a lot of tension between Alex and Sadie throughout the book, and it lends to that will they or won’t they vibe that makes this book so enticing. Then there’s the spice, and it’s heavy on the heat but doesn’t overwhelm the storyline. Like you’ll blush for sure, but there’s not so much that you’ll wonder where the actual narrative went.

I really enjoyed these characters, too. Sadie is sweet and rather unassuming, but she’s newly split from her boyfriend of three years and really questioning herself and what that relationship was. She has a lot of inner conflict about starting something up with Alex, even though she knows what a putz her ex was and how great Alex is. Her waffling was a bit frustrating at times, but then it was also authentic feeling. I mean, how do you really go about just instantly getting over a three-year relationship that you thought would be your future in a matter of weeks? It would be unrealistic to expect a character to be able to do that, and it’s those moments that make me empathize with Sadie all the more. And Alex? Yes, please! He’s such a doll but in that yummy alpha way. Plus, I love how genuinely sweet and down to earth he is. I rooted for him from the start, and I loved how he was especially with Sadie’s family. His character made me smile.

This is an entertaining and pretty racy Christmas love story that will get you in the mood for the holidays. It’s sweet but funny at times with a heavy dose of steaminess, and I’d recommend it for anyone that appreciates a good holiday romance.

Dashing Mr. Snow by Alexis Winter is an Office Romance set around the holidays, following the story of Sadie Emmert and Alexander ‘Alex’ Snow through their dual POVs.

This Christmas novel paved the way for a whirlwind journey of a blossoming romance that sees Billionaire Boss Alex and his employee Sadie slowly finding their way to each other over the holidays.

Although it was a Slow Burn given the circumstances of Sadie’s life after being dumped by her now Ex, that had her taking her time in deciding to move on.
It didn’t stop the Fiery and Sizzling chemistry between Sadie and Alex from building.
With each encounter you could feel the underlining sparks getting ready to soar high and bright, leading to a huge explosive display of fireworks. Which it eventually did when Sadie and Alex did finally gave into their carnal desires for one another.
Together they brought the Spicy steam, whilst also sharing some Cute and Sweet Swoony moments together.

Even with a majority of the story focusing on the blossoming relationship between Alex and Sadie, Alexis still delivered a narrative that brought drama, suspense and a whole load of comedy given the hilarious moments that had you LOL’ing too.

Overall, Dashing Mr. Snow was a fun and enjoyable read that definitely brought the feel good Christmas spirits amongst some other elements.
A job well done to Alexis Winter for delivering yet another entertaining read.

Alex is the CEO of Snow Communications. He had to take over when his father died unexpectedly. Liked it

A short and steamy contemporary romance / romantic comedy set during December to January in Chicago that starts with love & lust a first sight on his part, goes through a lot of feelings about the end of a 3-year relationship on her part, adds in a good dose of steam, and of course a HEA epilogue the following Christmas. The heroine, 25-year-old Sadie Emmert, is an inexperienced lower middle class family girl whose lawyer ex treated her like she wasn't good enough for him. The hero, 35-year-old Alex Snow, has all the money one could want and runs a company that makes more, but he has no family and fills his life with work.

At the start of this one I thought the heroine was a bit pathetic trying to hold on to a relationship that was so obviously a bad one. However, by the end I could see what the author was going for, and it added depth and realism to the heroine character. This book is an interesting mix of dirty fantasy hot boss and more real-world feelings about the end of long-term relationships. Would read more by this author.

2.5-3 stars. Previous to reading this book I tried to read three of the books from this author. Two I hated the female characters and the third one I hated both characters. This one I went in knowing I wasn't a fan of this author and I was just hoping that this Christmas book was going to be a good one. Well, it was okay not great. Once again the female character brought the book down. She was constantly in her head. Tim, Tim, Tim, and on and on and on. She was so hung up on him it wasn't even funny. And of course her friends and family didn't like him but she didn't want to see it. She acted like a damn virgin even after having sex she still acting like she was a virgin. The smexy scenes are kind of lame. You would think with all the dirty talk he was telling her it would be much much higher in the spice level. Alex, her love interest was nice. Not much of an alpha to be a billionaire but he was down to earth and sweet. Loved her family and how he blended in with them and with her friends. Speaking of friends they were kind of hypocrites. They were first telling her when they first met Alex to go out with him and climb him like a tree. Then they turned around and told her to be cautious and maybe take a break. Pick one or the other people I guess the author didn't know which path to take with that one. Didn't quite like her friends that much. The book was sappy at the end and kind of predictable. But hey it's a Christmas book. So that's kind of expected. Now I know why I don't read this author's books.

When Alex meets Sadie he is immediately attracted to her and wants her but he doesn't act on those thoughts because as CEO of the company he is her boss. Two years later Sadie's boyfriend dumps her right before Christmas. Then one night Sadie must deliver a contract for her boss to sign to his penthouse and when she walks in she walks in on him naked having just taken a shower and is shocked that his 'candy cane' is so big. Alex after this encounter can't leave Sadie alone and the two become friends which turns into more but Sadie is reluctant because of her ex Tim and not having closure with him. Alex respects her need for space to figure things out and is there for her when Tim shows up wanting her back.
Luckily she rejects him having realized that her and Tim's relationship was not healthy. After talking to her mom and friends who have all met both Alex and Tim, and love Alex but dislike Tim she decides to take that leap with Alex and a year later the two of them get engaged and get their happily ever after.
This book was cute but I was annoyed with the character of Sadie a lot of the time bouncing back to considering giving her ex Tim another shot when he was a cheater and all around bad boyfriend. I was happy that ultimately she didn't give in and go back to him but the fact that she was seriously considering it at parts of the book really didn't sit well with me. I did love Alex though and the fact that he made an effort in all the things a boyfriend should and didn't push her except in the bedroom.

Steamy, perfect holiday romance between boss and his younger employee. So yummy!
Fantastic! Jaw-droppingly good! I say this with every Alexis Winter book, but how does she make each one better than the last?! Every woman needs a man who wants her more than life. When 33yo Alex Snow, CEO and billionaire sees Sadie Emmert at the new-hire orientation, he knows he’s seen the woman he wants to build a life with. Thing is, he’s her boss and about a decade older. Fast forward two years and his feelings haven’t changed but he hasn’t had an opportunity to get to know her until a chance elevator stoppage strands them for hours. Sadie is nursing a broken heart because her former live-in boyfriend Tim has dumped her…excuse me, he wants “to take a break.” Because Tim was Sadie’s first and only, she is having a very hard time with the break up even though her friends and family are thrilled. Can Alex put a smile back on her face? Oh. My. Word. Can he ever?
Great moments: delivering contract; drunk in elevator; mistletoe kissing contest; Christmas eve visit; Christmas day at her parents’ home as well as a second visit to the elevator. There were others but these truly stand out. Read this book and you will agree. This is one very entertaining and passionate story. I volunteered to review an ARC of it through Booksprout.
