I haven't read the According to Liam series, and have no plans to, so this was really helpful for going into the Watkins Glen Gladiators series.
I feel like I know enough about the main characters and their personalities so I'm looking forward to the first full book.

Ho bisogno di fare una premessa, prima di recensire questa storia.
Quando ho aperto il file e letto il nome del protagonista di questa nuova serie della Locey, avreste dovuto vedere la mia faccia!
Liam Kneller-Polkman doveva per forza essere lo stesso Liam di “La vita secondo Liam“, una saga che ho adorato, quindi mi sono tuffata sul primo volume per scoprire che esisteva un prequel, già tradotto, e gratuitamente scaricabile seguendo un link dentro il primo volume.
Beh, ho dato la precedenza a quel racconto dal titolo “La promessa” (“Top Prospect”, in lingua originale), l’ho divorato e ho fatto benissimo! È stato emozionante ritrovare Bryn, Mike e tutta la tribù di Liam, ora cresciuto e neolaureato, pronto a lanciarsi in una fulgida carriera nell’hockey, e pronto a ricalcare le orme dello zio Bryn.
Questo prologo lancia le basi per gustare meglio il primo volume di questa nuova serie e andrebbe letto per primo. Non contiene parti erotiche ma è una chicca deliziosa che ci riporta nel turbolento mondo di Mike e dei suoi famigliari e amici, col bonus del tempo che passa e un occhio nel futuro.

OMG!!! There might not be any romance in this short, but boy does meeting the cast from According to Liam feel good. If you loved the Liam books, you will absolutely adore Top Prospect as we get to see all the characters we love again. Mike, Bryn, Heikko, Jamie, and and and. Highly recommended.

A short and sweet introduction to Liam, perfect for setting the stage. Especially for those of us who haven't read the according to Liam series. I bet it will make our lives so much easier for the first book in the series

This book is a prequel to a new series by VL Locey. It gives background info on Liam, a recent college grad who is going on to life in the AHL as a top goalie prospect hoping to make it to the NHL Pittsburgh team that drafted him within a couple years.
It gives good insight into the character who evidently featured in an earlier series. I’ve read a lot of Locey’s books but I missed those. This does a good job as a prequel and I am looking forward to starting book one in the series right now.

When I got to the end, I wondered why it really wasn’t part of the next book because it builds right in. It was great, but anyone reading Between the Pipes should read this, just because it’s a nice intro into the characters and backstory. I’m glad I read it.

Raccontìni brevissimo che va letto prima di Tra i pali che anticipa le vicende successive ma che serve anche a rispolverare tutti i protagonisti dei libri su Liam.
