While I liked this story at first, it was very fast paced at the beginning and insta-lust for me (and not in a good way). I don't like to read books where the MMC has a past lover he was deeply into that suddenly dies UNLESS it's done right (Throne of Glass) because I feel like the FMC can never measure up, so that was kind of a turn off for me. After a certain point, there were only repetitive smut scenes and for some reason I just got the ick because it seemed like that's all they lived for. Also, the guys weren't really jealous and possessive, even though the book was tagged as such.

I don't know if it's just me, but I'm getting hints of MM from Dmitri and that's not my cup of tea in RH, so I'm going to stop at this book.

I liked Nova, but I really didn't care for anything else.

Second read:

My rating still stands although coming back around to it made me enjoy it more. The world is unique and well developed. The characters are fun and I loved Nova. I did struggle and got the guys mixed up quite a bit but overall it was enjoyable.

Update:
Ok ok ok…I’m trying this one again. I recently read another book of hers with many men and loved it so going into this again with a fresh mindset.

First read:
DNF at 42%.

I’m calling this one. There are too many men in this reverse harem and I can’t keep them straight and it’s stressing me out.

It's been a while since I read a KA knight book, and I have been shelving this book on and off. Because it was a duet, and I wanted it to be done before I started reading it.

Nova Super Soldier is coming back home when she heard her father, who made her into that, is dead. She wants to see for herself and get some peace with her sister. It's a rocky start when her sister hates her and she's thinks she's all alone enter the guys Nico, Isaac, Dmitri, Jonas and Louis who want her to join there group to stop her fathers experiments and labs where they were made. The chemistry between the group was already off the charts. There were some ups and downs with maybe one or two guys, but lord, I loved every moment with each guy. And how they supported Nova. Didn't matter what, they always had her back since they knew what she had been there.

We see fights with the bad guys, spicy group scenes and more mysterious stuff about the experiments, and a cliffhanger!!!

1st person/multiple pov
Spice: 4.5/5

Full of action, spice, laughter, love, and even a few twists this new duet is off to an intense start! Nova and her men are a force to be reckoned with and bring quite a bit of heat with them. They have all been through some horrific things in their past as the first of a long line of "experiments" started by Nova's father. His passing brings her back home where she faces more than just her demons. Now she must fight to put an end to the horrible actions he set in motion all of those years ago that are still being carried out today. What she didn't expect were the men who would track her down and ask for her help to do so. 😏

These men that come into her life are truly a family. They have this bond that can only be created through experiencing the trauma they have had to endure at the hands of an evil man. Having Nova in their lives quickly makes them realize that they have all been missing something and she is the key to feeling complete. Suddenly their mission has become about more than putting an end to the experiments that made them who they are. Now they are on a mission to make Nova theirs and never let her go.

I am honestly quite shocked at how much this book surprised me. I should have known with it being a K.A. Knight book there would be several different facets to not only the story but the characters as well. Yet in the beginning, I didn't think I would see that as the story went on. Then, it was like a switch was flipped somewhere along the way and the book turned into precisely what I had hoped it would. At that point, all bets were off and I was flying through the rest of the pages devouring every word. 😆

I love all of the different personalities you get from the guys and how each of them plays their own specific and vital role when it comes to their team and missions. I didn't feel like a single one of them was similar to the other and they each had little things I loved about them. I tend to have a favorite in these groups even though I love all of them and this book was no different. Jonas was a stand-out for me. His humor was absolutely gold and had me laughing until my sides hurt. 🤣 Then he would turn around and be this adorable and broken thing that just made my heart crack down the middle before kicking on his charm and becoming a walking sex machine. (Speaking of sex machines - Louis is like an energizer bunny... like seriously what on earth kind of experiments did he go through to have that kind of stamina?!) 😳

Which brings me to the spice. You already know if you've read any of Katie's books that her spice is off the charts. She holds nothing back and fills the pages with it. You get a good build-up in this book so the spice doesn't start immediately. It gradually builds from attraction to flirting to teasing and then once the line is crossed there is no way in hell to get back to the other side of it lol! Even though it feels like at that point there is a spicy scene in every single chapter moving forward the storyline moves along with it. It doesn't become all about the spice to the point that the mission falls into the background. So yea there is A LOT of it but the plot continues to thicken at least (almost as much as the guys... well you know 🙈🙊).

The only thing I had a little bit of an issue with is really a non-issue and totally a personal preference. 😬 There was one character that had some dialogue that was pretty repetitive during those steamy moments. It in no way made me enjoy the book any less, and I actually liked it at the beginning, just after the first few times I had read the same couple of phrases I felt my eyes kind of start to roll anytime he would say them again lol. 😂 I think if it had been repeated more than what it already was it had the potential to bring me out of the moment during the scenes, but thankfully it stayed right under that threshold of not being able to get past it. Outside of that the spice was so damn hot. 🥵

The entertainment factor was absolutely a 10/10 because it had a little bit of everything. As I said apart from the high amount of steam it was hilarious. I'm sure I highlighted almost everything the guys said to one another because the way they bickered back and forth or teased as if they were actual brothers was so fun to read. The plot was interesting and a tad mysterious with a twist thrown in at the end that I almost saw coming. I had already convinced myself if there was one it would be something else until it was revealed and I knew things were about to take quite a turn. Now the name of the duet makes total sense though and I am SO looking forward to the next book. I have a feeling we will be seeing even more action from Nova and the guys and she is about to prove just how much of a badass she truly is.

**Make sure to read the TW as there is without a doubt some triggering content in this book.

What a storyline! I love the concept and all the characters. It took a little while for the spice to get started (yes, I'm impatient lol) but then it starts and doesn't stop! I feel almost the whole second half of the book was smutty scenes. There is a twist at the end that I didn't see coming so I'm definitely excited for the next book to see where it goes.

This book was too much of some things and too little of others.

There was too much repetition (phrases, actions, scenes) and too much internal monologing. When it comes to not enough, I was totally missing more of the super human/ genetic engineering aspects throughout the book and I felt like I was missing a lot of relationship building between the MCs.

Overall, I really felt like this book was missing totally missing that balance of plot, spice, and character development. I'll probably still read book 2, because I want to know what happens!

So this book had potential, but it felt extremely rushed to me? Now I love K.A. Knight, DOV was my first RH and got me into strong fmc’s and dark romance. However, it felt like this book just used a lot of recycled material. I didn’t like anyone having the nickname “D” because it just reminds me of Diesel, even though it was clear Jonas was supposed to be the “psycho” one. It also seemed like there tried to be a lot of shock factor intimately that didn’t always make sense when reading it.

What I did really like were the characters in this book, I liked the storyline and plot, again it just boiled down to feeling too quick while skipping over so many important details. I didn’t even mind the quick feelings or relationships considering they’re definitely trauma bonded, what I did mind was the fact that none of them seemed to ever have conversations that would pertain to their past or future (experiments aside).

We get 15 straight chapters of Nova, and with RH with multiple POV, especially in a shorter book, that really puts a damper on us getting the guys perspective. We pretty much know nothing about them. How old are they? Why didn’t they have family or anyone missing them? How did Louis escape? Is D bi? Why did she not ask before kissing him knowing his past lover was male? Why did they have to use a chip in her hand as a key, did no one else find that sketchy? Why couldn’t they work without the military if they have their own money? What happened to her nipple piercings they were literally never mentioned again? How much time actually passed in this book? Also, there was a lot of repetition in lines and phrases that the guys kept recycling, like claiming they were going to be “mean” during sex. Speaking of sex, there is absolutely nothing sexy about a shampoo bottle 😅.

Again, it HAD the potential to be amazing. Nova is a bad *ss and I love that this was switched up from the usual enemies to lovers RH, all the guys have great personalities and I love the uniqueness behind the story. The issues for me came down to the little details and conversations that were skipped over. I’ll definitely read book two anyway though!

No one is ever truly gone. They live on in our memories and our love for them. You may forget some things with time, but you won’t forget the way he made you feel and the love you shared. You won’t forget the important things—that you loved each other—and in the end, that’s enough.

I love KA Knight audiobooks and this one did not disappoint with Michelle Sparks voicing our female lead, Nova! I really loved the plot of enhanced soldiers taking down the mad scientists that “created” them. All the guys had unique personalities and relationships with Nova and it was great getting to experience their romance grow. There was a good bit of suspense as they go after the “big bad” and a pretty good cliffhanger. Definitely diving right into it! Plus Katie writes the most delicious spice ever 🥵🥵🥵🥵 I’d call this one a medium burn !!

This duet was just SO. FREAKING. GOOD! 🔥

Nova grew up with a horrible father who experimented on her to try and mold her into what he wanted. She escaped at the age of 17, but comes back when she finds out her father has passed. While at his funeral she runs into 5 guys: Louis, Nico, Jonas, Isaac, & Dmitri. These guys were also part of the experiments done by her father and they are banding together to try and shut down all the research still happening. Along the way, Nova forms deep connections with every single one of them. She can’t deny the pull she has for each of them and has finally found love. But, it’s not that simple. Her sister thought she had died and hates her, she’s trying to figure out where her father’s research will lead her and that ends up getting her in trouble. But, the five men who love her will do anything to get her back.

This duet was unlike anything I have read before. I’m going to be honest, I’m not typically a big fan of reverse harem books, but this duet has changed my mind. It was HOT! 🥵🔥 These men all knew how to take care of her. 😉 I also loved the dark aspect of it and the entire storyline. You could also feel the vulnerability from each man and I loved that we got their story from their POVs as well.

Thank you to Wordsmith Publicity for the physical copy of Unstoppable and the eARC copy of Unbreakable. You sending me the first book of the duet made me fall in love with these characters and their story. 🥰

Holy Mother of Goodness, this book had me laughing so hard and feeling all the emotions.

In this, we follow Nova as she and her five men: Louis, Nicole, Dmitry, Jonas, and Isaac try to put a stop to horrible research that they got put through as children. Not only did they get experimented on. They got tossed aside.

This book is absolutely fantastic. I love K.A knights' way of writing so much. The world building is amazing, and the storyline is just to die for. She is certainly one of my favourite authors!

I can not wait to see what happens in the second book after that cliffhanger. I did not see it coming, and man, did I sit there shocked for a while.

Great start! Loved it!

Unstoppable by K.A. Knight is book one in the Pretty Liars duet. This story follows the journey of Nova and her five men: Louis, Nicole, Dmitry, Jonas, and Isaac. They each have been experimented on since they were children. But now they are free and want revenge and justice for what was done to them. And the spice. Holy spice. I thought it was going to be a little slow burn. But nope. No. When it starts, my oh my. It was HOT! Like these guys, I can't get enough of them.

Super secret scientific experiments! Psychopathic dad who uses his daughter as his test subject! Like potato chips, the psychopath couldn’t only stop at torturing his daughter: He tortured numerous children, and all but four of them managed to live. But the genetically engineered birds have come home to roost, and they long to use their enhanced brains and bodies to peck some eyes out. They’re more than up to the challenge. Sayeth the Daft Punk:

“Harder
Better
Faster
Stronger”

Off the cuff, this plot sings to me. A BAMF female who would rather kill a warehouse filled with combatants before a drop of blood touches her men, and a cadre of men who would die for her but will shed more than their fair share of blood before that will ever come close to happening. It’s not “touch her and you die”, it’s “touch any of us and you will die”.

The violence goes hand-in-hand with the kind of bonding that would usually form a tight-knit band of soldiers; but in this case it spins a reverential and uncompromising web of shared trauma, emotional intimacy, and deep love between these five survivors turned rescuers. Their mission is to ostensibly root out the deepest, darkest seeds of our FMC’s father’s research, his labs, and to find any and all other test subjects, if there are even any left. Then they are to help burn it all to the ground.

See all this? This, ALL of this, is my jam. If this were The Voice, I’d be begging this book to pick me as its mentor. I’d smash that red button. The thing is, there’s a lot of issues with this book that interrupt the fun.

I’m not even talking about Nova’s (our FMC) relationship(s) with the fabulous males in this book. Those dynamics and relationships are fine. The men sound hot, have great personalities, and recognize Nova for being far more dangerous than they are. And they’re here for every blood-soaked minute.

No, the main issue I have about this book is predictability and repetitiveness. These characters are supposed to have enhanced intelligence, yet they’re written like they don’t. And the spice scenes? Well, don’t get me wrong–I adore the kind of spice scenes Knight writes in this genre of book, where the characters both crave and can take it hard, fast, and violent, but the spice scenes seemed so much the same with almost every male character and proceeded almost all in the same manner that I stopped trying to keep track of who Nova was engaging with because it all blurred together. In the end, the spicy scenes stopped being hot and started being boring.

In the end, I decided I couldn’t rate it a full four stars because I just didn’t feel like it earned it, but it didn’t warrant a 3 star because the story is too good all on its own. You could’ve removed half the spice and I would’ve still been happy.

I was provided a copy of this book by the author. Any views, thoughts, or opinions expressed herein are mine and mine alone. Thank you.

Omg, KA does it again. After reading Den of Vipers and loving every second of it, I knew I was going to read everything this author released and Unstoppable was no different. I ran to Amazon as soon as it was live and I loved every second of it. It was action packed, Nova was such a badass I loved her from the start and the men, omg, 5 of them actually, were just mind blowing. This book is a mixture of Den of Vipers (because of the boys) and Stranger Things (because Nova had same 'life' was Eleven, her dad was a scientist that experimented on her).
Anyways, this was just out of this world, it was really good and I'll be checking the author's website and social medias from now on wanting to know about book 2. Can't wait!!!!! Amazing book!

”Her father might have been our torturer, our enemy, but his daughter is our salvation. She reminds me of what it means to be unstoppable.”

OMG! What a creative, heartbreaking, utterly intense, and adrenaline packed story that was! I was riveted to my seat, biting my nails with anxiety, and shocked over what was being slowly revealed. The story is dark, definitely depraved, utterly twisted, violent, and deliciously steamy. It was a wild and crazy rollercoaster ride that I never wanted to end.

Nova is one hell of a badass woman. She’s fierce, witty, smart, and will kick anyone’s ass. The things that she reveals her father did to her were gut-wrenching, definitely soul destroying, but Nova has clawed her way back into the light and refuses to let the demons drag her back under.

With her father’s death five warrior like men reach out to her for her help. Little did all of them realize that they belonged together. Their pain was similar, their demons were similar and their anger was similar. They needed to work together to destroy everything her father did and to end the experiments.

The connection that these men have with Nova was undeniable. As they get to know each other, they seem to be able to help each other heal slowly in different ways. And the sexual chemistry between all of them was explosively HOT! It was deliciously steamy, insanely erotic, and panty melting! It definitely made my lady parts ache.

I absolutely loved this story. It was well written, with fantastic characters (some that were evil and corrupt and others that you just couldn’t help but love), and with a plot that was slowly thickening as the story unraveled. I laughed a lot, but I was a hell of a lot more shocked about what was transpiring right before my eyes. And with that shocking, twisted ending, I can’t wait to read the next part of the story.

A fascinating book the deeper it went and holy moly was it hot!!

I loved the premise of the plot, superhumans created by an evil mad scientist, but I'm going to admit, the plot was also lot of fast paced and then wait. So it was like driving through town and hitting lots of red stoplights; a whole lot of frustrating, but I still wanted to get to the final destination, if that makes sense.

Nova is the daughter of the mad scientist, which for me made part of this book intriguing. The other part is she gets roped into stopping her father by Jonas, Nico, Dimitri, Louis, and Isaac. These are men who we come to find out are just like her. They too have been experimented on, abused, and transformed into these superhuman beings, and they too want vengeance over what was done to them. Exciting right?!

While they track down clues to stopping the mad man, it's through their shared trauma and instant chemistry that brings the heat and honestly not a lot of drama, because these guys are already bonded brothers through what they've been through. If there was anything that helped with the stop light waiting it was the firecracker intense heat!!

Nova was a great female lead, not only for her strong personality, but for how she handled each of the guys. After a lifetime of practically being isolated, she was quickly able to to figure out how to work with five strong men, physically and emotionally. Nova was fascinating to read, not discrediting the guys at all, but there was just a lack of  background information on each one of them which made getting to know them a bit harder, aside from Jonas who instantly captured my heart for his sarcastic and snarky personality, it just took basically the rest of the book before I could even distinguish the rest of the guys. I hope there is more insight in the next part of this duet because I am still very captivated by this story and want to know how it all plays out.

A 4.5 read overall.

“We look like the Care Bear version of an assassin squad”

I am obsessed. KA Knight once again delivered a steamy dark romance balanced with an equally dark, twisted and intriguing storyline. I was completely invested from the get go and loved being on the journey with our main character, Nova, as she faced her past traumas in the pursuit of revenge and justice. She represents a strong fierce female who is not letting her past control her. Plus, it doesn’t hurt to have 5 hotties in all black pursuing and protecting you. Give me a Nico, no wait, an Isaac. Scratch that a Louis. Honestly maybe all! KA Knight did an amazing job of letting us in to each characters story and trauma and then bringing them together for an ultimate end goal. The darkness was balanced with spice and banter making it a quick read. Plussss that twist at the end!!! I was completely engrossed in this world and can’t wait for the next book in this duet!

Definitely check out triggers before going in to this one. Thank you to KA Knight and Book Funnel for this arc. Unstoppable is out now!

Ok this book had so much potential, but it left me wanting!! I guessed what was going on with Nova’s dad in the beginning and of course now will have to read the next one because *cliffhanger*

I was really engaged with the experimentation and her dad trying to build superhuman/super soldiers and I wish there was more to it in the book. Yes the smut was good, especially when it got real smutty towards the end, but I wanted more of the boys backstory. We got small snippets, but I wish I had their POV and story throughout, because it felt like we knew nothing? Are they actually helping her? Are they part of her dads plan? Is the military force they’re working with actually evil? ALSO there are 5, I had a hard time remember who’s POV I was reading and couldn’t keep them all straight.

I also have so many questions about her sister, the soldier they left with her, and of course her dad and his “final assignment”

*sighs* hopefully the next book will answer all these questions, I feel like it could have been even better if it was less smut and more story •lol•

I went into this one not expecting a lot because the premise of this book confused me with the genre. However, I was very impressed in the end despite the heavy rom-com vibes given throughout the book. I will say the writing felt adolescent at times and there were some typos, but the sci-fi plot and badass FMC really won it for me. Especially with an ending like that, I'm so excited to pick up the next one. This was a fun, guilty pleasure read and not because it was complex or spectacular - I just had fun. Which to me, is the whole point of reading. As long as I have fun with the story I can't complain. The men all felt like DC anti-hero's with senses of humor but deep history.
Read this one with caution- it's humorous and seems to not take itself seriously at times. Be one with the book and try to do the same with it. (the amount of times the men were referred to as a ragtag bunch in the beginning made me cackle and think of Hamilton LOL srry not srrryyyy)

This story was explosive and mesmerizing! You are really hooked from the start and seriously will not put it down, even I had trouble pulling away to gather food...lol. Now this story had it all; action, suspense, plot twist, romance, and the spice was hot hot hot! Nova was an absolute bad@ss woman, yes she had issues but owned them and used them. And, the men she meets....OMG!! Can I say jaw-dropping and oozing appeal for me. It was like being a kid in a candy store, each of them had their own quirks from shy and intelligent to crazy and downright protective. It was awesome and I wanted them....hehehe. Dmitri, Louis, Nico, Jonas, and Isaac could all be my weekly flavors anytime. So if you're looking to start an explosive action-packed, hot RH with some drama mixed then grab this book now! And, don't forget to grab snacks cause you won't be moving for a bit.

What’s it like being an evil scientist’s daughter? Nova would tell you in great detail how horrifying it actually is. She thought she escaped, but his death suddenly made her more valuable than she could imagine. Especially to the 5 men hunting her.

“Her father might have been our torturer, our enemy, but his daughter is our salvation.”

The first half was a little slower than I was expecting, but once the spice starts, it’s nonstop fun all the way to the cliffhanger ending! The trauma they work through together ranges from heartbreaking to heartwarming and I could not get enough of how many different ways they showed each other they cared. I will DEFINITELY be getting into the last half of this duet when it comes out!

I received this book in exchange for my honest review.

This book is deliciously dark and everything you need to read! While that cliffy left you hanging, it’s not so unbearable… but I’m left with so many theories and questions! I can’t not wait for book 2!

This book takes you on a wild ride! You meet Nova in the beginning and you learn about her very dark past! As you move on to the present, you meet the others! Louis, Issac, Nico, Jonas, and Dimitri, they are all so delicious and dirty talkers all while dealing with their own dark past that matches Nova’s. Their demons haunt them all and while they work together to put a stop to these “experiments”, they find that they are finding a bond between them all!

I was so hooked into this book, I couldn’t put it down! And I’m loving this group! I can’t wait for more!

This was.. chaotic. A mess. I didn’t dislike it. But it was missing some things for me.

I definitely wanted more of the “super solider” aspect - they just kept saying “we’re stronger than normal humans” but 👀 where? Throw a car or something

The spice was wild, as anticipated - it got a little repetitive at a certain point and I was like “okay can we like make it 5 pages without them fucKing like rabbits?!” But I guess with 5 men that’s expected 😂

I will say I read this in less than 24 hours and made someone tell me the entire plot of the next book because I NEEDED to know what happened but don’t have time to read it right now because of arc obligations- so that has to count for something.

I absolutely loved this book! K.A Knight has written another captivating story that had me completely hooked from start to finish!

"𝐖𝐞’𝐯𝐞 𝐛𝐞𝐞𝐧 𝐬𝐨 𝐥𝐨𝐬𝐭, 𝐍𝐨𝐯𝐚, 𝐬𝐨 𝐟𝐮𝐜𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐥𝐨𝐬𝐭, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐧𝐨𝐰 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐰𝐞 𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮, 𝐰𝐞’𝐥𝐥 𝐧𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐛𝐞 𝐚𝐠𝐚𝐢𝐧."

I adored Nova and her men- Louis the leader and dominating one, Jonas the unhinged and psychotic one, Isaac the 'good doctor', Dimitri who’s the brains of the operation, and Nico the gruff teddy bear. They are all so unique and both share a lot of the same history that brought them closer together.

The story does end on a bit of a cliffhanger and I absolutely can't wait for the next part of this duet as I’m anxiously awaiting to see what happens next!

This book is everything I love about K.A. Knight. All of her books are incredible and this one is no different.

Nova is an experiment. A lethal weapon created by her father through years of horrific abuse. When she hears news of his death she feels free. Finally. That is until she finds out that his experiments are still being performed and there are other children still alive. Now she has to stop his work once and for all.

Ends on a cliffhanger 🥲
Definitely read trigger warnings for this one!

so hard for o finish

Where do I start? First, it was so hard to get through this book but I managed. It was……something happened, then lots of s*x, then something happened, then lots of s*x…. that went on the entire book. The book felt rushed. As I was reading it, I realize it was missing something and that is depth. This book has absolutely no depth. There is no depth to the MC. There is no depth between the MC and her men. Ugh, it could have been amazing! Hopefully the 2nd and last book is better.
