Heather Rainier

Heather Rainier lives and writes in South Central Texas. Her stories offer up the content of her fantasies, with humor, tragedy, and triumph mixed in.

Heather's love of romance fiction began as a teenager when her mom gave her copies of Kathleen Woodiwiss's "The Flame and the Flower" and Bertrice Small's "Skye O'Malley". To this day she's pretty sure that was her mom's version of the "birds and the bees" talk.

Heather writes the type of novel she loves to read: More erotic and edgy than the mainstream, with plenty of sweet romance mixed in and a happily ever after guaranteed. Heather's favorite type of hero is the gentle, lovable giant but readers will discover a wide variety of heroes and alphas on the pages of her novels.

When not at her keyboard, Heather is usually busy corralling her teenagers, or loving on her smokin' hot husband, who thankfully loves to cook.

Heather invites readers to e-mail her at [email protected] and also to visit her website at www.heatherrainier.com

Oh boy, I don't even know where to go with this review. I don't write bad reviews because I hate book bashing. The authors all work really hard to produce their books.

Having said that, I personally did not like this book. The dialogue was cheesy to me. No one talks the way these characters talked to each other. Grace was in a relationship with three men: Adam, Jack and Ethan. The way they treated this plus sized woman was really sweet. But again, just didn't do it for me.

So there you have it....

I read a few reviews and expected so much more from this book, instead I was utterly disappointed.
I really hate to leave a book unfinished but I had to force myself to put it down 'cause it was that or plucking my eyes out. Seriously, I rolled my eyes so many times I was afraid of going blind.

Let's start with a little summary.

Jack, Adam and Ethan are three close friends who are looking for a girl to share. Jack is smitten with Grace and thinks she could be the one. So they all start to pamper her, find ways to gain her trust and ease her in this unconventional relationship to have their happily ever after.

Here's what didn't work for me.

I can't stand spineless heroines and Grace is one of them. To put it in the men's terms she is "submissive with a loyal streak long a mile". WTF??? When you let your worthless boyfriend walk all over you, insult you, take his verbal abuse without doing anything, knowing he's an inch from beating you too (which of course he did), you are a plain doormat. And that's that.

When I read something I need to believe in what's being said. And falling in love after two days is certainly not plausible. Just to be precise Adam "knew he loved her the first time he saw her". Are you freaking kidding me?? You don't know jack shit about each other, how could you possible exchange this words and believe it? I could, not like, but at least accept it if we were talking about sixteen year old guys, but from grown people??? And Jack, who has known her for a few years, ironically is the last one to shout his love (after a few days, mind you). How weird is that?

By the fourth chapter they're all in love and then there's nothing. The characters were so static, they all lacked personality. They never argued, their emotional relationship never grew.

I tried to finish this book. Really. I at least wanted to read a sex scene and at that point I was ready to scream "would you just do the dirty deed already?" But it went on and on and it was so repetitive that my brain sort of shot down on me.

Talk about an epic story, you are pulled in from the beginning with a very very shy Grace whose nuclear relationship with her boyfirned has caused her a lot of self esteem issues.

Jack Warner has been smitten with her for two years, making excuses to see her at the shop she works at. When Grace makes an unexpected move that introduces her to Ethan, Jack's roommate something is unleashed within her. Within days she meets Adam whose piercing gaze and calming manner ignites a long awaited rapture that has the rose colored glasses removed and Grace making some "house cleaning" decisions about her life.

Jack, Ethan, and Adam are all head over heels in love with Grace, she has an innocent quality but at the same time a little minx inside who is anxiously trying to get out. The story takes you through their journey as a couple and Grace's unveiling of a secure, confident woman.

Thought this was wonderful, I really regret not having picked this up sooner.

Reread 10/29 On second read a four star, but will leave it with my original rating. A good story, has a couple things that wore on me but I think it was because I was familiar with the story.

Between the over excessive use of the word love in all it's formats " love, loved and loves" and the horse porn I am struggling to understand why I continued to read this. The heroine was a wimp and the men not much better, I finally gave up at 85% after skimming for 25%. I am not going to shelve this on my erotica shelf as I found nothing erotic about it.

DNF at 71%

Admittedly, menage isn't my thing. But I have read some that had well-drawn characters and a believable group-love and dynamic happening.

I was curious about the 3-men-to-1-woman aspect and even though the cover looked like complete smut, the page count (a whopping 519, according to Goodreads) led me to believe that I was in for a tale with a fleshed-out story and relationship building, you know, content that's not just about sex.

Unfortunately, the 519 pages is half sex and half day-to-day minutia. When this book opens, the events are step by step how the days go for these characters. There's no fast forwarding (at least not in the 71% that I read). In that day-to-day, step-by-step slog you'd think there would be interaction that would really lead me to swallow this great love they all have for each other, right? Nope.

But this book is good for one thing: Pure female fantasy. We have:
*Three hot cowboys who don't argue over who gets to do what with the heroine
*Three hot cowboys who are self-employed AND run a ranch together
*Three hot cowboys who have huge dicks
*Three hot cowboys that LOVE eating pussy
*Three hot cowboys who love a chubby lady
*Insta-love
*Jewelry as gifts (lots)
*Lingerie as gifts
*Clothes and shoes as gifts
*Flowers as gifts
*Custom-made furniture as gifts
*Chivalry in the form of Home repair, A/C installation, Beating up ex-boyfriends, driving in bad weather, beating up gross guys who get inappropriate or scary, jumping in front of bullets... Can I quit now?
*etc.

All of that sounds great, but it got tedious and gratuitous. I took forever just to get to 71% and when I got to THIS section, I decided enough was enough.
"Horses are big animals, and their anatomy follows suit."

Grace gulped audibly.

"Honey," Ethan said, leaning toward her, "if you enjoy what you see on the videos and you want to fool around with us afterward, there's nothing abnormal about it. It'd be the same as having sex after watching porn."

"Only horse porn."

I'm sad that I wasted all these hours reading this book and I'm not even getting credit for it in my challenge. But life is short and sometimes you gotta know when to cut and run.

This story is very long (>500 pages), considering how light the plot is; but the characters are likable. There are lots of explicit lovemaking scenes. I liked it well enough to read more of the series. As long as you are up for the very light plot and a leisurely pace due to lots of steamy scenes, you may enjoy Heather Rainier's Divine Grace.

I won this book last year in a holiday contest but it will not affect my rating. Books are judged on their own merit.

This is one long-ass book - be prepared. I really believe the first line in this book should begin: "Once Upon A Time" and end with "The End, Happily Ever After" because this is an adult fairy tale for the ladies who want those perfect guys, who are a bit curvy and want said guys to cater to their every whim, because these men do not exist in real life.

I'll admit, I'm a cynical bitch but I found so many amusing moments in this read that weren't meant to be amusing and I can't even comment on them all because this review would be as long as the book! But a few highlights were:

There was much more but these were the toppers for me. I'm giving this a rating of 3 because it was pretty well-written even though it was pretty inconceivable, I have to give the author kudos for her optimism.

I'm sure I have more to say but I'll close for now.

***First in the "Divine" series.***
I love the city and the gal. She is a wonderful character. Grace falls for all three of the Divine Creek Ranchers. Jake, Ethan and Adam, are each super alpha hot in separate ways. Each man brings a new dimension to loving Grace.

They help her, care for her, and love her. She opens up and can be the woman she was meant to be. Adam is her gentle big guy, love that ! Yes, there is some wording that could be better, spelling errors, too, but in all a wonderful tale.

This story is l o n g , but has details and history of ménage I'd never heard previously. Very well written, it's a life adventure. There is not the usual tense, secret keeping, hidden facts.

This is very open and refreshing. Grace and the cowboys are steamy, romantic and lovable.

If you like the "gentle giant" types, read Dakota Ranch Crude, Dakota Heat series, by Leah Brooke, you'll love Shayne. Great story also !
ENJOY !

Wow WOW WOW This book is amazing not only are the cowboys hot, hot hot but they bring love understaning, and strength of courage to a lovely lady who has been beaten down and made to feel great shame about herself. Not only will they show her what a great woman she is they will show how sexy is also.

BUT THE BEST THING THIS BOOK BRINGS IS THE AMAZING SEX! SEX! SEX!

To Carpe Diem or Carpe Nocturne? ... why not both? Grace knows the time has come to seize the day when she is swept off her feet by sexy Jack Warner and his roommates, Ethan and Adam. It will be their pleasure to show her the many ways to seize the night…times three!

In a very short time Grace Stuart’s life has taken a 180 degree turn for the better. Once the only bright spot in her day involved seeing her favorite customer, Jack, stop in at Stigall’s for some personal shopping service. When Grace attends the funeral for a friend, who happened to be Jack’s mother, she is overwhelmed by the heart stopping attraction she has for not only Jack but his friends, Ethan and Adam as well. Even more surprising to this beautiful plus size heroine is the fact that they all seem to return her feelings with interest.

To be perfectly honest I was actually a little concerned by how quickly Ms. Rainier had the main characters professing their undying love for one another, especially considering the length of this super novel. Yes, there are some obvious antagonists that offer plenty of opportunity for conflict but I just couldn’t imagine it lasting over 500 pages and keeping my attention. Ms. Rainier pleasantly surprised me by not just using the antagonist to round out the plot but Grace’s personal growth from a frightened self-conscious ostrich (as in she hides from confrontation) to a feisty spit fire that stands up for herself and the men she loves. My point is, the early love declaration works for this story. Ms. Rainer handles it well and you still get to enjoy the relationship growth between Grace and the men.

Speaking of the men, these guys are unbelievably head over heels in love with Grace. Almost too unbelievably. It’s not how they act toward her, that’s actually pretty heart warming and beautiful. Grace’s love life has not been easy and she deserves the added attention they literally shower on her. It’s the dialogue that was a little unreal. I don’t know any man that is quite as open and expressive about his feelings or intentions toward a woman as Jack, Ethan and Adam happen to be. Having said that, as Grace comes out of her shell she manages to keep the guys on their toes with her witty personality and vivacious attitude. Something else I appreciated was that I got a chance to really get to know the guys on a more individual basis as Grace spends one-on-one time with them. Jack is the silly charmer, Ethan is the attentative thinker, Adam is her dragon slayer. Together they are everything that Grace needs to begin a new life.

Divine Grace is the first in Ms. Rainier’s Divine Creek Ranch series and she has already written books two and three as of this review. As an up and coming author for Siren Publishing, Ms. Rainier is already making a name for herself and this reviewer is anxious to see how she has progressed as a writer from this first book to the newest release Heavenly Angel.

If you love a powerful ménage story that literally sweeps you along into the lives of the characters, you will love Divine Grace. There is so much more to this story than I was expecting when I began this saga and I’m glad I stuck with the storyline to watch the growth and development of the characters. If a soul searing love story is what you’re in the mood for, pick up a copy of Divine Grace. It’s time well spent.

This is the first Heather Rainier book I've read and I enjoyed it, save for the sometimes too much mush.

Grace is a plus-size woman who has a good-for-nothing boyfriend. Jack Warner lives with two room mates Ethan Grant and Adam Davis. The 3 of them knew and have been waiting for the perfect woman who would love them and they found Grace, saved her from the life she was living.

Basically, there's little conflict here in the presence of Grace's ex, Owen who's a bum and treats her harshly, she worked two jobs for him and they always have sex in the dark because Owen says he doesn't want to see Grace's fat body. That really isn't the case but we later find out.

Grace is described as someone voluptuous, with all the right curves a man, or in this case, three men would want. She has been attracted to Jack for a long time, and is close with his mom, who passed away in the beginning of the story. I really like the philosophy and positive attitude Mrs Warner influenced on Grace, to just "seize the day!"

The attraction with Ethan and Adam happened really fast and from then on, things started to progress and dumping Owen is step #1.

To cut the long story short, there are a lot of pampering until Grace is spoiled rotten, she regained her self-esteem and is now more confident in dealing with shallow women who don't understand true love between a woman and her three men. There's only 1 major menage with all of them in it, the others are just teasers but they're hot.

Ms Rainier has now become one of the authors whose works I'll read more of.

There was far more telling in this book than any showing through actions or deeds. I wanted better pacing. I wanted the relationship between the heroine and her former boyfriend to crescendo and it never did. wanted a black moment when all hope was lost, save a glimmer and even the violent "confrontation" scene just didn't provide what I was hoping for. They say when you're writing a novel that you should keep throwing hardships (believable ones) at your hero(es) and heroine. I didn't get them and was disappointed.

What I did like was the gentle treatment of a plus-sized heroine. It was well-woven into the threads of the story and watching her grow into the person she could become was pleasant. She was a compassionate soul that I found a great deal of sympathy for and could identify with in many instances. The heroes too were men that I might have wanted to get to know. Working men. Not the idle rich. Genuine, with heart that showed up well and often throughout the entire story.

But the overly lengthy, very repetitive dialogue was hard to read and the story meandered for very much that I found myself skimming it a great deal. As for the sexual descriptions? While some were certainly arousing, most had far more talk between participants than I enjoyed.

Divine Grace was the first "erotic" romance that I read and the first book of Heather Rainier's. Her story of Grace, a plus size women, who fell in love with not one, not two but THREE hot, sexy men drew me in from the very beginning. I loved that Jack, Ethan and Adam went out of their way to prove to Grace that she was a worthwhile and lovable woman after she left an abusive relationship. If you love a happily ever after story with steamy sex and hot men then you will be be disappointed with the book. I would highly recommend that you read it!!!! One of my all time favorites.

I don't mind erotic romance, but this book was extraordinarily ridiculous. This town just happens to have a history with polyandry relationships? Polyandry is damn rare, but this little town has several families who practice it. Okay. And so many people around the foursome are gung-ho, understanding and supportive about the relationship. I just don't believe it. Also, I got so tired of hearing how much everyone loved each other, and how lucky they all are. Every damn page. And there were a LOT of pages.

I just got to say, I really enjoyed this e-book. I was pleasantly suprised and and moved by the love that these three men had for a plus sized sweetie. Helping her overcome her insecurities and hurts from an abusive ex-boyfriend. I look forward to reading other stories by Heather Rainier.

Loved it

Sweet and steamy, committed polyamorous, love story, one women and three men.
Grace is a sweet curvy women in a bad relationship, ready to make a change, she just doesn't know how to get rid of her abusive boyfriend.
Jack is a rancher who has slowly fallen for his mother's young friend. He doesn't poach.
Grace has a secret crush on Jack. When his mother passes away. Grace learns that maybe her feelings are reciprocated. Then she meets Ethan and Adam, Jack's best friends and business partners, and she feels an attraction to them as well. Knows she needs to clean house.
Jack, Ethan, and Adam have been looking for a women they could share. For the three cousins, polyandry, is a family tradition. Meeting Jack's Grace, Ethan and Adam know she could be the one.
When the opportunity arises to help Grace, Jack, Ethan, and Adam step up and show her what life could be like with three adoring men.
Grace decided to take Jack's mom's advise, "Carpe Diem, baby", and seizes her chance. With a little push from her older sister. Support from some good friend and family, old and new. Grace, Jack, Ethan and Adam fall in love and navigate becoming a family.
Great story. Great secondary characters, with set ups for their stories.
Love the epilogue.
This is a re-read for me.

DNF @75%. I wasn't a fan of the prostitution (basically what Grace was doing). Every other scene the guys were spending a ton of money on her and the she would have sex with them. All of the "honey's" and "baby's" were starting to get to me too. And how many times does a girl need to be reassured she is beautiful, gorgeous, sexy. Dont get me wrong, it's great to hear, but not when it is every other sentence out of the guys' mouths. And the way the guys talked to each other about her? It was like she was dating one man with a multiple personality disorder! This book seemed to drag on forever and it was the same scenes every chapter. This book could have been condensed into 200 pages.

I had a bit of a love/hate relationship with this book. I loved the concept and how everyone interacted. None of the men were jealous of the others and they had their preferences which tended to be different from the other. This went a long way to avoiding any jealousy. But at times, the book felt a bit slow and I felt that they were just too perfect, there was never any conflict. Of course, fiction is fantasy based which is why this works.

Grace is a shy woman who is in a relationship with a man who does not appreciate her. On the other hand, Jack, Ethan and Adam are making plans that involves having Grace as the center of their family! This intriguing story drew mw in because we all know women like Grace that are unappreciated and, in a relationship, where they are put down to the point where they no longer feel their self-worth. It was good to see her grow under the love of three men that put her needs first!

This is the beginning of the Divine Creek Ranch series and it is quite a ride. This is about Grace and her 3 men. It was fun watching the protective way they tried to help her when she was having trouble with her no good lazy boy friend. Enter Jack, Ethan, and Adam. Well written and funny.

I'm not sure how to review this one. The way that the relationship came together was great. Would have been cool for Charity to move into the house instead of selling it. Quite a few options for follow up books for sure. Steamy, sweet and romantic.

So fucking boring!!!!!!!!!!

I thought the leading 'lady' such a twit and sickening I had a hard time reading this.

I found everything about this book so boring, I had a hard time reading this.

In fact, I had such a hard time reading this book that I gave up at about 40%.

All it was (to that point) was the leading lady victimizing herself with a shitty boyfriend/ex, finding INSTANT love in FOUR days with 3 guys. - And can I just say, I think authors confuse lust with love!? And that YES you may instantly fall in love with a puppy, but that's puppy love! It's not a "till death us do part... I know you so well I can't be with out you!!!" kind of love. And then there was the sex, which was a lot of oral sex.

Every sex scene was times 3. So, not only do you have to hear about how she gave head, but you have to read about it three times in a row, one for each guy!! Fucking boring as hell!! I fucking get it, she sucked them all off. I don't need to read about each time, every time! And, I also don't need to read how she was fingered by the three guys, in minute detail, THREE GODDAMN times in a row! Good grief!!!!!!

But it was the serious INSTANT love that was the most annoying and repulsive to me. I hate the instant love books in the first place, but some of them make it so you can ignore it. Some even make it so that it makes sense, in a way. But this book, holly fucking shit, it was ridiculous!!!!!! I couldn't even suspend my disbelief long enough to finish a single 'I love you' sentence. Every time I read how in love with one another they were I wanted to fucking scream and rip my hair out, or gag. What the fuck do you mean you love her so much, you have literally met her twice!!! Fucking Christ I hate these fucking books!!!

OH!! And then there was the designing/buying of the engagement ring after what, 3 times of meeting up with her? By the first week? They were already buying furniture for the room in their house they wanted to move her into. I mean, talk about moving too fast! I think it sounded psycho, NOT romantic!!! I get they were excited about meeting 'the one'. But christ o' mighty, calm the fuck down and take a couple breaths. There is something nice about getting to know a person and savoring things!

Another complaint I had was that these guys were so strong and protective of her (eye roll) and yet they constantly left her alone, and when they did protect her it wasn't all that impressive. Take the night out dancing at the bar... the Patricia girl comes and tries to stake her claim, and the guy just glares at her and lets the leading lady tell her off! OOOH yeah, real protective. Then when she moves in with them, she's worried about how the Patricia girl will react, since she lives on their land too. And instead of saying "if she doesn't like it, she can move out" they pussyfoot around saying shit about giving it a try and trying to make it work. EYE ROLL.

OH! And one last thing... If I had to read cease the day one more fucking time I was going to screeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeam!!

It was about here that I realized these guys are fucking useless. She's a fucking idiot, and I was bored out of my mind. I really didn't give a shit what else happened.

So, it was all about what a victim/lady she was; how big and strong her men were; and how 'hot' was the sex (ad nauseum). I really hated this book.
