I actually give this book a 3.5. This story was a departure from Darcy Coates normal books and I thought she did a really good job. I loved the atmosphere and most of the characters. I preferred the present day passages instead of the past ones. All in all I really enjoyed this book.

From Below by Darcy Coates is a book I really enjoyed. I've been told I need to read this author so many times and I'm glad I did. This story is so atmospheric and claustrophobic you can practically taste it. If you're a fan of The Luminous Dead by Caitlin Starling, Dead Silence by S.A. Barnes, Episode Thirteen by Craig DiLouie, or the Netflix series 1899, I have a feeling you'll enjoy this book. I have to read more from this author soon. ...more

The last week has been rough and I neglected my reading. This weekend, I took it upon myself to take a step back from life and just enjoy small things, and this book is one of those things that I enjoyed. It is October currently, which is normally my favorite month of the year. I love all things spooky, and this book fit right into that love of spooky things.
