How the sailor's knots of love can pleasure and pain you so much you want to jettison yourself into a numb void. How you can feel so much a part of someone you cannot have that you hold on even though it hurts. How love is complicated and clumsy and pestering when it refuses to let go.
Lots of dead things. Lots of cheek/lip/mouth biting to blood. Lots of lovely.

The book itself is a large satisfaction. For me, anyway. I love Murakami's tone. It's soothing. I love how he takes me into a strange labryinth and doesn't tell me its one or explain anything really but I just enjoy being in the labryinth. I love following each corridor even if it's a dead end. If I had the inkling I would enjoy taking a class where they teach each of his books. I know there's more to each one than what I am interpreting or not interpreting. But even on its surface, TWUBC was an enjoyable journey....more
