The quote that Mr. McNaughton shares at the end of the book from President Obama is meaningful:

This booklet reminded me of some things that had slipped my mind--such as the Vietnamese and Cambodian refugees that were housed at Fort Indiantown Gap and of Operation Paul Bunyan.
My husband a part of the Military Science department at our local university and the cadre teaching the history classes will sometimes share extra teaching materials with him. We have some nice Army historical textbooks, booklets, pamphlets, and magazines around here to supplement our personal library. It was interesting to read from Guderian's perspective and to read where he placed the blame in the high command for the failures that occurred. I understand that to gain a fuller understanding I need to read more widely but I found it fascinating how so much, according to him, was other people's fault....more
