Olivia bends to Rachel’s every whim and keeps her “bible” full of pertinent info on hand 24/7. So when Olivia gets asked to road-trip with the cover model—Maverick—of Rachel’s most famous series for their signing tour, of course Olivia can’t say no.
Rachel’s one rule? No fraternizing. Olivia scoffs at the idea—sounds easy as pie, no problem. Yet somehow, Olivia finds herself breaking all her rules for Maverick…
Make Me Crazy by Kennedy Fox is book 2 in the Make Me series. I love a good opposites attract romance and this definitely satisfied my craving. I loved how much Maverick pushed Olivia’s buttons and the two of them really complemented one another. Their romance was surprisingly slow burn and I enjoyed seeing their romance develop naturally. My favorite aspect was Maverick facing his fears for Olivia and her doing the same, in her own way. Very cute road-trip romance! 4/5 stars. ...more

Lucas introduced Riley to a world she never could’ve imagined and at the end of her vacation, he offered her the opportunity of a lifetime—road tripping all around the US together. Riley couldn’t say no to Lucas and that’s how years of Riley’s wanderlust started.
Lucas & Riley’s relationship was toxic and took them on rollercoaster after emotional rollercoaster, but at the end of the day, they loved each other to the ends of the earth. Until one day Riley woke up and Lucas was gone.
Riley moved on with her life, moved to NYC, dated and moved in with another man. But out of the blue, Lucas shows back up in Riley’s life and makes her question everything she knows & everything she wants in life…
Before Us…There Was Him by Lou Stock is a road-trip, new adult romance with some angst and second chance romance thrown in. This was such a wild ride of a book. Honestly more of a train wreck I couldn’t look away from. Riley & Lucas’ relationship was beyond toxic and Lucas was a shady guy & boyfriend most of the time. I think we would’ve benefited from Lucas’ POV to help understand & redeem him more frequently. This was quite a long story too (400+ pages), so I think the author could’ve benefited from shortening it or turning it into a duet if the page-count was a must. With all those things aside, this romance was fun to read, especially the road tripping aspect. I wanted to find out how their romance would end, which is always a good sign. I’d be willing to read more by Lou Stock in the future! 3.5/5 stars. ...more

Runaway Road by Devney Perry is book 1 in the Runaway series. This was a cute and fun small-town meets road trip romance. This romance is low-angst and a guaranteed good time. I really like Miss Perry’s writing style so I know when I pickup one of her books, I’ll enjoy it. This didn’t hit me in the feels, but it definitely put a smile on my face. The perfect summertime read! 4/5 stars. ...more

But when she goes to fly back to NYC, all flights are cancelled due to a huge snowstorm, landing her back at her hotel. The only problem? Her room has already been booked to someone else, leaving her out of luck. Hazel overhears a man taking someone else’s abandoned reservation—for Milo and Maddie Hooker—and decides to seize the opportunity, jumping in, pretending to be this total stranger’s sister.
Matteo was back home visiting family but needed a place to stay during the storm. Yeah, he fibbed about the reservation, but desperate times call for desperate measures, right? He wasn’t expecting to meet a gorgeous redhead pretending to be his sister, but they went with it. Their rooms side by side, Matteo and Hazel get to know each other over the next couple days, going on snowy adventures together. The catch? They never reveal their true identities.
They decide to continue their adventures over the next week and even though they both are in tricky places in their lives, real feelings blossom between Matteo and Hazel. They decide to part ways and reconnect 3 months later—on Valentine’s Day—if they both are still all-in. But when they part ways, is their love story coming to a close or just beginning?
My Favorite Souvenir by Vi Keeland & Penelope Ward is yet another winner by this author duo! I went into this thinking it was a summery read (it definitely isn’t lol) but I wasn’t disappointed when I was proven wrong. I loved Matteo and Hazel’s love story so much. VK & PW know how to interweave humor, more serious topics and perfectly-timed twists like no others. Couldn’t recommend this one more! 5/5 stars. ...more

She isn’t truly living; she’s been working at the same diner for 4 years, she lives a quiet, uneventful life and she hasn’t ever left Alabama before. She feels stuck, wanting so badly to start her life. Her dream is to move to Seattle and attend her dream college. Then, her life will be worth living for. But that dream is far away, and even after saving as much as she can, it seems it’s out of reach.
Until a breathtakingly handsome man sits at one of her tables. She barely has words to take his order and when he finally speaks to her, he asks: “what makes you happy?” and Cooper has no idea how to answer his question. He’s a man of few words, but she learns he’s on a road trip to Seattle. And when she expresses that’s where she wants to move someday, he asks her to come with him.
Although it’s a crazy proposition, Cooper accepts. She packs a small bag, tells her deadbeat parents she’s leaving, takes her dog and leaves Mobile forever. And once on the road, she learns this stranger-of-few-words’ name: Emery. And now they’ve set off for an adventure of a lifetime.
Emery is the opposite of Cooper. She’s talkative and optimistic, whereas he reveals very little and is cynical to a fault. After days on the road together, exploring the sights, an attraction builds between them. And they try to deny it, but their lips find one another and they can’t keep their hands off each other from then on out.
But Cooper is being deceitful and when it blows up in her face, there’s more at stake than just her relationship with Emery. She needs to fix things with him before it’s too late for them, before it’s too late for him.
On the Way to You by Kandi Steiner is a hard hitting book that touches upon some serious subjects, softened by the romance that sprouts between Emery and Cooper. I love road trip books and this one is one of the better ones I’ve read. I loved the journey they went through and the places they stopped along the way. I loved both characters, as flawed as they were. The ending was exactly what I wanted and made my heart smile. I haven’t read a Kandi Steiner book in a while and now I’m wanting to read more as soon as possible. 4.5/5 stars....more
