Okay I read the first book of Serpent & Dove and I loved it. Due to waiting for the other books I never made it back to the series.

This book sounded amazing and I started reading it having no idea it was set in the same world AFTER the Serpent & Dove series ended and it's a spin off with a character from that first series. I didn't even realize it was the same author. Needless-t0-say I now know how the rest of the series ended and I'll probably never read them even though I own them. That being said I heard many were disappointed with the rest of Serpent & Dove which is a bummer.
This book was AAAMMMAAAAZZZZING!!!! I first started with the audiobook but soon found myself unable to put the book down and picked up the physical copy so I could read fast and with my own voices and emotions when reading it. I freaking loved this book. LOVED IT.
I am dying with that ending though. DYING! I need book 2 and we don't even have a title or date for book 2.
I loved all the morally gray characters, the character development of them all, the twists and turns of the mystery behind everything. So many different mysteries that the author was able to tie all together so nicely.
I need more vampire stories like this!!!

With all the reactions I was seeing over the ending and even knowing it was going to leave on a cliffhanger I am so freaking dense I STILL did not see that coming...
So when I tell you that I figured out the ending of a book, THAT is when you know it’s a bad book. So yes, I gave this 5 stars because the ending made me FEEEEEL and I DIDNT see it coming so that’s a good thing!
I literally had to sit there for a minute when I was done... I'm still reeling.
okay...
Violet annoyed the SNOT out of me throughout this whole book. I disliked Cat for a majority of the book and then I disliked her less as the book went on. LOVED seeing more of the group with Rhi, Ridoc, Sawyer, & Vi. Ridoc & Rhi might be my new favorites.
3 more books, that's all I have to say, we will have 3 more freaking books before this is done.

The author is a master of storytelling, and creating a magical world that was vivid in my imagination, the characters were so deep and I could see the struggle that they were going through and choices that make or break them.
The one character that annoyed me? the little sister but I see that she was important to get the ball rolling but oh my word I couldn't stand her, she annoyed me so bad!
Taha! oh Taha... I hope you are redeemed! And Qayn? I look forward to more scenes with you next time! I DO NOT LIKE LOVE TRIANGLES but I loved this!!! I'm team TAHA because I have my suspicions about him... I feel like he has ulterior motives still.
Overall I loved this book and I can't wait for book 2!!!! I highly recommend it.

If you haven't watched a romantic k-drama? then you need to do that ASAP, they are so full of emotion and amazing acting and costume that you can't help but fall in love with everything Korean.
This story was no different. The writing was amazing, the world building magical the storyline just colorful and beautiful. This has so be one of my favorite reads of 2023 so far. I HIGHLY recommend this book. I can't stress enough how utterly captivating this story was. I won't stop recommending this book from this day forward. I HOPE this author writes more stories within the spirit world that she created.
I loved every single character. And fell deeply into the magical world that Oh created. I don't know what other wonderful things I can say about this book and I don't know how it's not more popular!
I fell in love with Rebecca Ross when I read her utterly enchanting book A River Enchanted. I fell in love with how she woooooooh man that ending!!!!
I fell in love with Rebecca Ross when I read her utterly enchanting book A River Enchanted. I fell in love with how she writes people and characters and entwines a glorious story that keeps you riveted to the book.
I looooved the story of Iris and Kitt, their total dislike for each other and their banter back and forth. I loved Iris and who she is as well as Kitt who is just swoon worthy and amazing.
The writing was amazing, I loved the WWII feel and setting of the book (maybe it was more WWI since it talks about trenches) the just wasn't your typical setting but it just worked for this book, that's how amazing Ross is as meshing 2 unlikely ideas and settings and making the perfect story.
Having 2 POV I think has to be difficult but again Ross made it seem so effortless, they deep separation of POV and able to maintain their voices has to be difficult but it was just perfect and I couldn't have asked for a better book.
Overall if you're craving something unique and different then I highly recommend this book and any book this author writes.

People have been asking me my thoughts on A Curse for True Love. There were a lot of things that disappointed me with the book. I still loved it because I got what I wanted in regards to the ending. BUUUUUT I did feel like this last book was not as good as the first 2 in this trilogy. The book wasn’t as “mysterious” with twists and turns like the first 2, it lacked a lot of story I felt that could’ve been told about Jacks and his Curse, there could’ve been more with him and Evangeline. There just could’ve been a lot…more. However I still have it 4 stars because it still made me feel, it still made me ache and gave me “the feels” in certain parts that is really hard to do for me. So… I and still happy with it because it’s done. I look forward to more from Garber and can’t wait to see what who she continues on… my guess? Caster. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I am happy. I am satisfied. *happy sigh*
I loved this trilogy more than I enjoyed Caraval Trilogy. I loooove Jacks. There is just so much to his character and I love that Garber didn't "change" him. He is still a morally grey anti-hero and I love that.
The last sentence makes me wonder if Garber will continue to stay in this world she has created...hmmm Whom would be the next story be about I wonder...?

That cliffhanger was absolutely cruel. I am angry. I was lied to! I thought this was a duology which is why I picked it up. It's not. There is another book coming NEXT FREAKING YEAR AND I AM A HOT MESS AFTER THAT ENDING! Stupid me for thinking this was a duology and I have no idea where I got that idea in the first place nor did I do my research to know for sure and now I am devastated.
BEWARE when reading this book, to save yourself wait till the 3rd book is out to binge and not end up like me.
I am going to cry now.
I still love Garber and she is now on my auto buy list. I don't care if she writes a story about a potato. She will make more magic out of that potato story and make us want more potato stories. I love her writing.

I absolutely loved this book! If you've read "Daughter of the Forest" by Juliet Marillier then you NEED to pick up this Chinese retelling of the Brothers Grimm The Six Swans.
I LOOOVED the Chinese lore weaved into this retelling.
I struggled at first with our FMC she was 16 and acted like she was 8 at times but I totally get what the author was doing with her. I loved her character development.
Our MMC was so so sweet and I just loved him.
Because I watch Chinese dramas I could totally picture in my mind the world building and characters. So amazing! The writing was great, the pace-perfect. I can't recommend this book fast enough!

Okay, sorry it's just been so long since I've read a book that completely captured me the way this has. The world building was awesome, the characters well developed and the romance didn't overwhelm the story. I loved that nothing comes easy for the main characters, they are flawed and yet they don't give up. Our main heroine is totally awesome and bada$$ plus she didn't annoy me.
The romance: I love it when I can be completely captured by the story and have romance in it without the romance completely overwhelming the story. you know what I mean?

WOW I am blown away at her writing for these stories.
I feel like I am going to like Jack's story better than Legends. I can't place my finger on why, maybe because it's been so long since I read Caraval or if I just like Jack better.
And I wasn't sure if I would like Evangeline but I have grown to really like her and how she changes but her deep morals don't and I like that, it was sooooo well done.

REREAD: still really enjoyed the book maybe not as much as when I first read it but still enjoyed it a lot. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~REREAD: still really enjoyed the book maybe not as much as when I first read it but still enjoyed it a lot. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Original Review: HOLY COW!!! FINALLY a book worth raving about!
Not gonna lie it took me a good 1/4 (quarter) of the book to really get into it. I heard about how good this book was from my friend Bridget (darkfaerietales_) and so I knew it was gonna be good... then I couldn't get into it, but due to a long road trip I was able to listen to it TILL I got to the part I was hooked. FINALLY!
It's been a LONG time since I found a book I couldn't put down. Yes I've become that incredibly picky. I finally finished this book last night just after 12am and I immediately looked for when book 2 comes out. AND I ordered the UK hardback of this book even though I already has the US version. That's how much I loved this book!
The writing was excellent! Everything was very well done. The world building was vivid and clear. The characters had depth and substance to them. Nothing was what it seemed (although I will say I figured out the mystery of "who done it" very early on) in regards to the characters because there was just so much more than your typical mystery. This was no ordinary mystery there was so much more to the story and it's characters. I could see, hear, taste, and smell everything the author wrote. Everything about this book was beautiful and vivid. I LOVED IT!
I'm desperate to get my hands on book 2 and can't wait for that day to come!
MUST OWN!

A Beauty and the Beast retelling? yes please!
This was such a sweet and fun story, and retellings are usually really hard to redo and I definitely feel the author did a phenomenal job with this one! I love how dark this one is too!
This story is about a Princes' last chance to break the curse holding him and destroying his kingdom. Doomed to repeat each a season, he must find a girl who will fall in love with him in order to break the curse. He's had three hundred seasons to get this curse broken, and every season he fails. Obviously. By the turn of each season he turns in to a beast which is different every time and he looses himself to that beast ultimately causing death, blood, and destruction.
I loved the characters in this book, each one was strong in their own way and very distinct. I struggled at times with Harper our female protagonist, but overall I had to really out myself in her shoes in order to be okay with some things she did, but overall I really liked her and found her to be strong in her own way and I appreciated it.
I LOVED Rhen, our prince/beast. He was practically perfect in every way as well as his commander Grey. Loved them both!
The imagery was perfect, and I was able to picture everything easily as the author described. The writing I struggled with a bit, but it's an ARC and I'm sure those kinks were worked out. Overall though I love Brigid Kemmerer and her books so this was just as wonderful as the other one I've read.
If you love retellings, definitely check this one out. I really couldn't put it down!
