This book is set in the minute, racist town of Maycomb, Alabama in the 1930/40s (I think?). I don't want to spoil you, but this book teaches such great morals and it really changed the way I think about some things. Hope this review helped you! Happy Reading!...more

This was the first Sarah Dessen book I've ever read and I really did enjoy it. I don't think I can add much about the plot without spoiling you, so I'll just let you read the book description. As you can probably tell by my updates, this book took me a long time to read. That is mainly because I had to read 3 books for school, but also because I felt this book was a tad slow paced. The main character is basically trying to make up for lost time in her childhood, and at times the novel felt kind of depressing and sad (NOT what I look for in a cutesy contemporary). I couldn't really relate to Auden, but I still think the book was okay/good. I hope this review helped you! Happy Reading!...more

I thought this book was going to be about girl who writes letters to all the boys she loves and they get out. I thought that this book would be the 'damage control' of that. However that does roughly give the plot line, the book is more about growing up and learning how to love people without being afraid. The book follows Lara Jean Song Covet (I know, a mouthful right?), a 17-year-old girl who is basically the woman of the house after her mom dies and her older sister Margot moves to Switzerland or Sweden (honestly, I can't remember which) to go to college. Before Margot leaves, she breaks up with her boyfriend of two years, who also happened to be one of the five boys that Lara Jean loved (oooohh, family drama). The jest of it is, Lara Jean's letters get sent out mysteriously to the five boys she loved. She has realized that now she does have a crush on Margot's ex, Josh, but too bad now he has a love letter she wrote her freshman year (too bad, so sad Lara Jean). Any who, she does some 'damage control' and ends up faking a relationship to save the friendship she had with Josh before. That is all I'm going to say because I don't want to spoil you more than I already have. I'd give this more of a 3.6 rather than a 4 stars. I enjoyed it, but I think it ended with a bit of a cliffhanger. I hope my review helped you! Happy Reading!...more

This is set in 1999 so this office has just recently gotten internet and let the workers email. Lincoln thought this job would be fixing harddrives and building firewalls, but it has turned into reading peoples email and making sure they're not sending personal emails. Two women, Beth and Jennifer, send personal emails all the time, but Lincoln doesn't report them because he finds himself enjoying their emails. Before he knows it, he's falling for one of them. Please read this book! It's so great! Hope this review helped you! Happy Reading! ...more

Just to be clear though, I think I would rather rate this a 3.5 stars instead of 4. This is a very real book. To be quite honest, I really like when books are pumped with superficial, relationship crap that is totally fake. That's not what this is. This reminded me a lot of a John Green book. This really takes you into the life of a high school senior. The failing grades, the cheating, the drinking. I personally am not a real fan of these types of books, but if you are I think you would really enjoy this. I don't want to spoil the book in this review, but I will say if you're looking for a light-hearted contemporary this is not it. The end kind of disappointed me, but I do think that it shows the realistic side of the relationships. I hope my review helped you. Happy Reading!...more

If you like Greek mythology or just mythology in general I think you would love this book. It follows a southern belle named Harper Price as she gains a power where she must protect an Oracle. I felt like I could really relate to Harper because she wants to do everything and help everyone. This book also deals with issues that real people actually face such as the death of family members and relationship trust. I do, however, hope that this will become a series (please,Rachel Hawkins?) because there are some untied ends left at the conclusion. Hope my review helped you! Happy Reading!...more

I have been a reading slump for the past couple of months and I FINALLY got out of it today by sitting down and finishing this book! My love for this series is still incredible! However, I must take a break from this series and read a light-hearted contemporary before I begin In The Afterlight because of how dark this book got. I must say, I still really like Clancy! Again, I don't want to put any spoilers, but this series is DEFINITELY worth the read! Happy Reading!...more

I think it could possibly be my favorite Dystopian book in a trilogy! I don't want to spoil anything, and this description is pretty on point! Without spoiling, I was just wondering If anyone else liked Clancy? This is by far the best book I've read in the latter half of this year. I just went to Books a Million and picked up Never Fade and In The Afterlight. I know, I'm very late to the bandwagon, but I assure you they are still deeply enjoyable! I hope my review helped you! It is 3:35am right now because tonight I have stayed up reading because I COULD NOT PUT THIS BOOK DOWN! Fangirl is about Cath who is a freshman in college and an identical twin. Cath is not as much of an outgoing person as her twin, Wren (Hehe get it Cath-Wren). Cath and Wren both read and loved the Simon Snow books (Harry Potter of the Fangirl world). When they go to college, Cath is still writing Simon Snow fanfiction, which Wren gave up the pursue a more "normal college student life". Cath's roommate is basically her polar opposite. She drinks, she does drugs, she smokes, but Cath still manages to be a good roomie. Her roommate, Reagan, has a boy friend named Levi who Cath becomes friends with. This is all I'm going to put in this review so I don't spoil any of you. My main point is YOU NEED TO READ THIS BOOK! I hope this review helped you. As always, Happy Reading!...more

This is by far one of my FAVORITE series EVER! Just read this series if you haven't. Seriously, go buy the Selection if you haven't started these. If you have and you came to this review to see what I thought of it, keep reading! Okay, now stop reading now because I really don't want to spoil you if you haven't already read it. Happy Reading!
SPOILERS AHEAD!!!!!!
So, can we begin by saying AHHHHH, SHE MARRIED MAXON!!!!!!!! I swear, I told my Mom if she didn't marry Maxon, I would not like this series. Also, I'm not gonna lie when I say I'm pretty happy that King Clarkson died. Is that mean? No. But, I literally cheered when I read the king died, then started crying when the next line said that Queen Amberly died. Oooh, I can't be the only one who loves how sweet Maxon's love professions are in this book. He's so sweet except for when he was gonna marry Kriss at the end to which I was all like,"STAHHHPPP". Another fun part, when America gave Adam her jewelry and told him to pay his debts to the king, I was thinking,"You go Glenn CoCo!" Speaking of America, who else caught the foreshadowing that her dad was a northern rebel? I mean, why else would he have that history book and care about Gregory Illea's diary? So, in the Elite, I'm pretty sure we all hated Celeste, but after this book I think she's my favorite character other than America and Maxon. And then she got shot. NOOOO! At that point, I stopped, looked back and made sure I read that correctly. Did anyone else downright hate Kriss in this novel? I mean, sure, she's sweet, but I just really could't stand her. I must admit, after the Elite I wanted Aspen to get killed because he really annoyed me. However, after this novel, I really like how he has become her family rather than a boyfriend. Once again, I'm so happy she married Maxon. And this dissipating of the Caste system! That's my favorite scene in the whole book when he proposes and tells her about eliminating the castes! Maybe Kiera Cass could write another book explaining life after their wedding and them ruling Ilea... Just saying it's not as if I'm hoping for that or anything ;) haha
I do believe this is all I can think of to say about this book off the of my head. I hope this review humored you within all my fangirl rambling, hopefully you aren't annoyed by it. Happy Reading...more

This book will really make you take a look at your life and the struggles you go through. Props to Joh Green for writing more than just one awesome book! Ok so I think I'm gonna go ahead and summarize this, so if you haven't read it yet, STOP READING NOW! Seriously, stop reading, I was spoiled and I wouldn't want the same thing to happen to you! So this book is split into two parts: one before and one after the climax of the story in which Alaska Young dies. The main character, Miles, moves for on Florida to a boarding school in Alabama seeking the Great Perhaps. Miles has a hobby of memorizing last words and one of his favorite was about seeking the Great Perhaps. The Great Perhaps, in his mind, is living and having a great time. He had very few friends in Florida, so he heads to Culver Creek Boarding School to have the time of his life. He meets his roommate, Chip, who prefers to be called the Colonel. The colonel introduces him to Alaska, a wild and daring girl who becomes one of his best friends. To make this short, they have a crazy awesome fall semester just having fun and playing pranks. During this time, Miles realizes that e has fallen in love with Alaska. Then, in January after a game of Truth or Dare in which Miles got to kiss the girl he loved, Alaska suddenly has a breakdown, leaves campus, drives into a cop car, and dies. The second half of the book is Miles, the colonel, and their friends, Takumi and Lara, try to figure out whether Alaska's death was an accident or suicide. That's all I'm going to say about the book and I hope that you enjoyed it as much as I did. I really think that this book could change your perspective on life and suffering. Thanks for reading my review and I hope it helped you! Happy Reading! ...more

So I must explain that this book is more of a 3.6 stars to me not just 3. In the town of Carp, NY, life is pretty boring. Every summer there are games called panic that any senior can participate in. The games are illegal and dangerous, but the pot this year is 67k. The story follows two characters, Heather and Dodge. I thought this book was an ok read.
